Unfortunately was closed 20 minutes before posted closing time when I tried to visit the first time. No sign posted, just closed sign.

Been meaning to write a review, as we used Southern Dessert Plate for our wedding cake. Very nice staff, helpful and timely. The cake was beautiful, fairly priced and delicious. Also go back regularly for their cookies!

The cakes were wonderfully flavorful, moist and delicious. Placed an order for a special occasion and was delighted at every step. Everyone said the cakes were exceptional. The rum cake was by far my favorite! Southern Dessert Plate may become my go-to for sweet treats.

I really enjoyed this place last week. There are many options to satisfy your sweet tooth. The owner and perhaps her daughter was there working when I stopped by. Both were very kind and attentative. I tasted the cakes, cookies, and a brownie. Everything was fantastic! The cake was moist and flavorful. You knew it was homemade, almost like a heirloom recipe passed down. The packing is both meticulous and thoughtful to protect your goods on the car ride home. This is my new bakery. Please support this small, minority, local owned business, you will not be disappointed 😀!

They have the best customer service and I loved their Coconut cake, so good and moist. Will be back again

I was passing by and had to stop- I mean who passes up dessert! Ended up with the best slice of Hummingbird cake, a fresh cannoli(she filled it for me right there) and an awesome lemon bar! Couldn’t wait to get back to the house and share them! Then when I did I wanted them all for myself! Gotta go back!

My family and I searched for a bakery nearby after having lunch and we were so fortunate to come across Southern Dessert Plate! We arrived mid afternoon on a Saturday and unfortunately missed out on all of the cake slices that we wanted to try. However, we picked up almost all of the cookie flavors and I also selected the pavlova for myself... and have to say it was the best pavlova I've ever had... divine and gluten free! We also picked up the last of the Espresso cookies, so so good! The chocolate chip and snickerdoodle were kid approved and my husband devoured the peanut butter cookies. Looking forward to trying their cake next. Highly recommend!

This bakery is incredible. Locally owned and so kind. I ordered cookies for the teachers at my children’s’ school. They took my large order with joy and even called to say they accidentally overcharged me by $24 and refunded my card. I would’ve had no idea. Grateful that they’re here!

Coconut cake is so good & moist it was a great first time experience

I will have to say well. The big goods are absolutely amazing here. The fact that they don't let you use your credit card unless it's over $10. I mean come on guys at least offer for the person to pay the charges on the credit. I'd rather pay the 30 cents the extra for $2.Just saying don't make it difficult on your clients.

The cookies and brownie were good...not trying to be ugly but the cupcake was so dry, not exaggerating when I say probably the dryest I've ever had. It was the chocolate on chocolate. Buttercream icing was great.

Listen everybody just go here and pick something. Anything! Yes anything and I guarantee you’ll like it. Don’t like something? Doesn’t matter they’ll make it taste good. I’m super picky about cakes, always have been. I don’t eat boxed cake and never have. My mom can bake really well and I can too so that’s why I’m picky. If I can’t buy something that tastes atleast as good as mine or my moms I don’t want it. This place is amazing! I wanted to take pictures to show y’all but I ate everything too quickly. Now one thing my little sister usually likes lemon bars and I don’t but in this case my sister didn’t like them but I loved them. She said they were too tart for her but they were perfect to me. My fave was the 7up cake with chocolate icing. We had ordered a praline pound cake from this place many years ago that was delicious but then we couldn’t find it again and couldn’t remember the name.. So the other day my mom and I went riding around the area until we found it🤣 it’s not easy finding good bakeries. From Jacksonville to Orlando we’ve tried plenty but the cakes taste like they came from a box. This place lives up to its name! It’s something a southern grandma would make for the holidays. My mom said she wants to order an Easter cake from here and I can’t wait. If it were up to me I’d order cakes just because it’s Tuesday 🤣

The ladies inside are so nice. The treats are so good. They even offer coffee at their coffee bar. The options are endless

Great local bakery with delicious cookies and other desserts. I get a little variety pack to give to clients and they always rave about how tasty everything is. I have also used them for gender reveal cupcakes and they were perfect for the party. All the employees are very nice and personable. Excellent customer service.

Outstanding desserts!!! Thank you for being this hidden gem. Lemon bars were out of this world. Still have many more desserts and quiche to try that I bought. Great local dessert shop 🍰

The cookies are very tasty. The 🍋 bars were the perfect blend of sweet and tart. The honey pecan bars are amazing! Like a praline on a buttery crust. I can't wait to try their other offerings.

And I must say the owner is so very talented, easy to work with and simply kind. This place does not disappoint. I can’t wait until I need to order again!

I have always loved the delicious treats and amazing ladies who run this bakery and I couldn’t wait for them to make my wedding cake! It was a great experience from start to finish. We loved the generous helpings in our take-home sample box and were always able to ask questions and make payments with ease. If you want some fresh and delicious deserts, this is the place to go! Everything is wonderful and when you walk in, the ladies are so nice and the smell is out of this world good. Must go to!

Wonderful rum cake. Would love to try more from this place. Fresh! Moist, flavorful, satisfying. You can't go wrong with anything here and it is well priced for value. Ladies baking right there in the kitchen.

This bakery never disappoints me! By far the best desserts in Jax! Go try them out….the ladies are so friendly, nice, welcoming! My daughter was dying for us to get home to eat the cupcakes….she says best ever. Thank you for the incredible job u all do!

Stop by this place a few months ago. Great deserts.great customer service. Only one thing though. The server didn’t use gloves.I would recommend anyway.

I love to stop by this local dessert shop to pick up sweets for myself and my family. My favorite are the pecan bars and my parents love the cannolis. The women here are very personable and welcoming.

BEST desserts I have ever tasted. The pecan bar, espresso cookie, and pavlova are the best. Customer service is just amazing, The food is delicious, what more could you ask for? 10/10 Would recommend. Best desserts in town! Must go.

Bought a piece of cake and a Pavlova to share with my husband. I had to slam on the brakes on the way home and the dessert box flew onto the floor. Righted the box at the next light, drove home, rearranged The Pavlova... It was all still delicious!! Mmmmmm

VERY good customer service and desserts. They were busy at the time I came in, and they were attentive to each customer. Even though I was waiting in line, I had a few questions and they answered them quickly and efficiently while serving customers.
