5 stars to the nice lady who rung me up and got me my food but 1 star for everywhere else because the second i walked in the door i was overpowered by the smell of something dead or rotten. The place was so dark and gloomy it was depressing. The more i thought about it i couldn’t bring myself to eat it or feed it to my family.

Go to place for all things sushi and hibachi. Staff is really nice, they have the food out pretty quickly, and the price isn't bad either. Hometown place that really has made a name for themselves. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

Ah, Where do I begin. Carrie and her husband are absolutely amazing. The food is always 10/10, no matter what you order. I shamelessly admit I eat here atleast twice a week. Come and try for yourself, I promise you won’t regret it!

Everything was great when I finally got food from them, but I always just drove past this place for about the first 3 years after moving over to this area because it looked like it was always closed or out of business.

Over all great experience, all the staff is so kind and helpful. Was dining with my 8 month old daughter and they were so sweet and helped me with chopsticks and soy sauce. All while making sure too not touch them. The sushi was so beautiful it looked so yummy I forgot too get pictures. But it tasted as good as it looked. Firecracker roll was Stuffed with the ingredients and the top. I usually don’t like getting the more expensive rolls because most places cheap you out of ingredients. Not sushi zen you get what you pay for. Compliments too the sushi chef. Thankyou, will definitely be back again soon.

Sushi was very good . However, I ordered the hibachi Salmon and it was a horrible fishy frozen old taste. I asked the waitress if it is frozen and she said yes. However, she said the sushi fish was fresh and I would agree on that. So, if you go here... Just get the sushi.

This place is in a stip mall but don't be fooled They have great quality!! The Tuna Pizza is fantastic. I also had the Laguna roll that didn't disappoint. They make a really good fried rice and didn't make us wait!

Absolutely wonderful experience. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Hibachi was on point. Waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. If you are looking for a solid meal this is your spot.

Nice place! Good Food. Wanted to try a place closer to home and Sushi Zen did not disappoint. Fried crab was battered light and delicious! Spicy Mayo on point! Hibachi included both noodles and fried rice and all items came in a sectioned plate. Thought it was weird at forst but trusted the process! 🤩 Salmon and chicken was seasoned well! Good experience, we will be back. Got my 9 and 5 yr olds to actually eat hibachi veggies, lol.

Superb sushi rolls that taste fresh with great flavor! I’ve been at a few other places locally, and this by far is my favorite!

My husband and I gave this place a try and we’re pleasantly surprised. Service was great, food came out quickly and it was delicious. They accommodated a shellfish allergy and we had nothing but a positive experience. Would def recommend!

So good! Hidden gem in North Jax! I ordered sashimi, sushi, and crab Rangoons and it was all soo delicious!

Our food was great! Every roll we ordered was flavorful and done perfectly. We also ordered shrimp noodles which were delicious also. The staff were fast and very friendly also.

Best fish quality out of all the sushi spots around here.

I'm a sushi lover and I always like trying new places. I was curious about trying this restaurant because of the high rating on Google, I mean 4.8?? Is it that good? I just recently found out that they do the sushi rolls lunch special, 14.50 for 3. So, I said myself: ok, I need to go! Lol Sushi was good, very flavored and fresh. The miso soup tasted really good. To have a wider opinion of this restaurant I should try something from the kitchen as well, but for now, I will say that the high reviews are deserved. The waitress was nice and attentive. The inside of the restaurant is ok, nothing fancy. I will definitely go back.

Everything and everyone was pretty awesome! The only reason that I gave 4 stars for the atmosphere is because it was pretty hot in the restaurant on the day of our visit.

We are definitely Shushi snobs and their quality/grade of their sushi/sashimi is excellent!

Delicious sushi! My wife and I tried this little Asian restaurant based on its 4.8 rating. I'm glad we did and we will be back. We wanted a light lunch just to check it out. She ordered a California roll and I got a shrimp tempura roll. We both got seaweed salad. I'll need to try more of their offerings to be sure, but this was some of the best sushi I've eaten! Highly recommended.

I have both dined in and gotten food for take out. Both have been on point. Sushi is awesome, some of the best I've had and I've been oversees.

My girlfriend and I visited this place today and everything was amazing! We had Hot sake, sweet tea, a crunchy California roll (customized with cream cheese), crab ragoons, and their hibachi. Every single bite was appetizing, light, full of flavor, and tradition. Thank you for an Amzing experience

The food was delicious and worth the medium length wait, the food's came out at the perfect time to enjoy each item. The service was very good and we were checked on often enough to feel cared for but not bothered. The atmosphere was great and on the dimmer side which was nice as bright lights often give me headaches.

Good sushi. However, there is a heavy smell from the nail salon next door the day I visited.

We found Sushi Zen by default due to our normal place was closed due to relocating. We are super pleased to have found Sushi Zen, the sushi was excellent, the wait staff were great, and the restaurant was very clean. this will now be our go to place! Also the sushi roll portions were well above average size.

Staff was friendly my order was ready and prepared exactly as ordered. I highly recommend them for sushi as well as hibachi.

Pretty low quality. Only reason I put this at 2* is because at lunch u can get 3 (SIX PIECE) sushi for 15 with soup or salad. Other than this their price is super high for how low quality it is

Dropped in for a quick lunch and was not disappointed. Everything was fresh, hot, delicious! The tea was a delight. I'm still shocked about how good the tea was.

Great sushi! Fresh and delicious!! Service was quick. The waitress was very attentive; prompt with the refills! I ordered two rolls (can’t remember the names now) both were great! I will visit again when I’m in the area!

My daughter and I ended up here for lunch after the place we had planned on going was closed. I'm so glad we did! The food was great and service was excellent. Will definitely return if we're in the area!
