Traveled on a Friday night. I was looking for some place that was still open that had quality food, and I always find it at steak and shake, where the shakes are great and the burgers are better.

2 days ago I went with my 11 year old son and my husband and one of the workers came out dirty and sloppy and a mess I give this restaurant a 1 star rating for this service and it was disgusting to see somebody so filthy and disgusting coming out of the kitchen in a shirt that one day was white upon a time

Food still good but what about the days of service especially since based on the 50s. My friend and I who worked at Steak and Shake in the 90s visited for the first time in a few years we were taken back at the fact there was no service three people running the whole place all do-it-yourself we were not happy

The kitchen was not cleaned in a while, it was terrible. Placing an order using a kiosk makes it too difficult and time consuming and having to scan your receipts for drinks, it makes everything less personal.

I'm really not sure what happened usually I don't have an issue but the food was so greasy couldn't eat the burger the paper was wet from Grease got all over everything

Steak & Shake will soon be another thing of the past. Corporate has decided to get rid of the humans and use electronic menus and stripped tables. Clean but not salt, pepper, napkins, etc. One poor lady, Stacy was on duty in dining room. She was trying to explain the electronic menu to us amateurs, clean tables, explain you had to use a QR code from your ticket to get the soda you paid for and answer questions. You order form the menu, limited amount of items per page/tab. Click on item, choose toppings, next tab choose extras, next tab choose fry & options, next tab choose your drink, next tab choose milkshake, etc. Do they not realize how long it takes a family to make that decision tab by tab. Oh, you want to go back a page/tab, good luck not losing your order. Pay at electronic menu, add tip - WHAT , tip an electronic menu??? Stacy was great but luckily we came at 12:55 PM so no crowd. Only 3 tables total. We WON"T be back.

Drive thru screwed up my order straight off the bat! While I waited for my burger, I ate my lukewarm fries and sipped my Coke (which was diet). Opened my burger after getting on the Parkway, and there was the cheese that I did not order! So, my dog enjoyed the burger and the remainder of the fries. Next time when I'm torn between S&S and Chik Fila, I'm going with Chik Fila!

The single has been reduced in size and so are the toppings like onion

Food isn't bad, but 30 mins in a drive through for 1 small milkshake...

Kiosks for ordering? No human interaction. No real China plates and silverware. No pepper sauce in the bottle for the chili. Food was fair, was always fantastic. We had to go get our order. We had to bus our table. To top it off, at the kiosks, they wanted us to add a tip, cute, real cute. We miss the old Steak n shake. Very disappointed 😞

Love their garlic steak burger always one of my favorite places to eat.

LOVE JASON AND ZAY they're both very nice, polite and provide a good atmosphere for me and my big family. We get the same thing so Jason memorized how we like our banana milkshakes and how many we get! 🥰 My family really likes going there. BTW strawberry milkshakes bring all the boys to the yard. 🤷‍♀️

this only got 1 star because 0 isn’t an option. lady at the drive thru was RUDE& rushed us to order for it to be WRONG. double bacon cheeseburger with ketchup = single cheeseburger with pickles..? reading is fundamental (: it was also cold you would think long wait times = hot fresh food. it also smelled like they’ve never changed their grease absolutely DISGUSTING.

I live steak and shake, I recommend the Nutella Shake.

I would rate it zero because there are NO waiters and you just stand in front of the computer to order . Steak and shake WAS ALWAYS about the even when I was little... no paper hate and the food🤢🤮 the only thing that was ok was the milkshake.... but was to yteating like that and what a tip??? You can even get your drink unless you hold o to this paper and then you can..... I'll NEVER GO BACK

Meg is an incredible person, she was very polite and attentive, it is hard to find people like her in fast food joints, thank you very much Meg!!!!

They now have everything u do yourself there’s no longer servers. Used kiosk didn’t get my happy hour special. Only get two refills for your DINE IN experience. Ordered different sized fry’s they was all the same. Staff was polite but definitely not the normal steak and shake experience and the staff told me I would get my discount after cashing it but it never corrected so definitely watch that

Service is fine here. I really miss the old waitress/waiters they used to have. Wait times can be a while sometimes.

Drive through. Ordered a fresco melt asked for extra fresco sauce on the side since they never put enough on the melt. Didn’t get the fresco sauce and the melt as always doesn’t have enough sauce. Disappointed they used to make it better. Ordered a side of cheese now they charge more for the cheese I don’t see why if they add less cheese in the container than they did before. I feel like I’m getting ripped off not sure if I want to order from here again!

Found this in my french fry container tried to call the store, location number and rings off the hook, not surprised.

Ordering system doesn't allow customization. Drink system is poorly designed and very inconvenient. Prices went up, and service went way down.

They no longer have waitresses and you have to order on a kiosk. I guess this is what a minimum wage increase does to a business. I will not be back.

Had too ask for a straw and I had too ask for a fork and had too ask for a spoon 🥄, and had to back up and ask for a napkins back up again and ask for crackers. Very unpleasant I feel like I been service that ever one just got out of prison, no respect, no morals or work ethics. No respect for the customer. I will never come back to this restaurant ever again.

Food was good, but wait was longer than expected through drive through, with only three vehicles in line I waited 15mins.

This location has excellent customer service. We’ve been through the drive through twice in the last few months, both times treated with the best customer service. Tonight, Jason was working the window. Last time, we had a lovey lady. Both times, very impressed. This location is doing something right! Keep up the good work.

Strange that even the drink machine is automated. The food was not as good as I remember, my bun was stale and covered in grease or butter even though it was just a regular burger.

They need to use better to go cups for the shakes. Seemed like we were bothering the server when we asked for a bag and to go box...

Y am I giving it 1star? Because in this establishment the human interaction is prohibited! They make you order trough the kiosk or you can't order.

I went thru drive thru and burgers were on point last few visits were soggy greasy and I stopped coming but I was in a hurry and they hit a home run great job guys. - very friendly at the window as well

They have changed the structure of this restaurant. There are no servers any longer. You order at the counter and pick up your food. You must get your own drink and have a QR code to operate the soda machine. Thus us an inconvenience. The food has not changed still pricey. The volume at this store has drastically decreased since Covid. I really do not see this location staying the course much longer.

Second time in this location. First time the food was super greasy and now everything was cold except for the chili.

We eat at Steak 'n Shake in Fort Myers and Port Charlotte often. The one in Lakeland is far superior. The quality of the food is excellent, the orders were all correct and they checked in with you to make sure you were taken care of.

I live about 70 miles from Steak and Shake when I come to Lakeland I usually go to Steak and Shake.

Food was good, but I do not like the kiosk ordering system. Unable to add items to burgers, i.e. extra lettuce when not getting bun. No salad or healthy options. Received shakes 20 minutes before getting food. Not likely to be going back anytime soon.

Ordered 4.99 meal with steak burger and fries in which store was out of fries and was still charged just for burger at $5.34 and no substitution for them not having fries. Do better

If I had to pick, this would be my favorite place for "fast food." What I don't like about the spot is the location. Due to traffic, it's a nightmare getting in and out.

Dine in and our food was just what we ordered.

To me these are the best burgers and Fries. Always hot and fresh.

Sad how bad this place has gotten. Whoever is managing it now should find a new line of work because they're definitely not capable of running a restaurant.

So I came back to stake and shake today 11-4-23 and ordered a steak and onion sandwich to only have a cold chunk of butter in the middle of my hot sandwich. So I go up to the counter and get told that is comes that way. I know this to not be true because I eat the same thing every time. So I ask for a manager and she comes out only to tell me the same thing. So instead of offering to remake it and put the melted butter on it she basically says well that is how it comes. What great customer service. Yes I did get a refund but the way she acted not to mention but there was not a clean table to even sit at that should have been my first sign. Never going back.

This place has gone down the hill in a s#!t basket! Food quality is near criminal, wait time is terrible, cleanliness doesn't exist, no lids, no straws, condiments out as well! And prices have gone insane! Couldn't even get my order right... smdh! I have sooo many other choices in my neighborhood and I think I'm done with steak shake!

We definitely miss waiters and waitresses. Dining area was unswept and counters were not clean. Coffee was not made, we had to ask for fresh pot. Service was not up to par... The wait for our food was longer than expected. The whole experience has turned us off....and we haven't been there since.

Biggest turn off was you have to scan the bar code to work the drink machine.. its not that serious sorry 😐

Hots dogs were water logged and fries were cold. Also, they have a new feature that limits you refills of soft drinks.

In honor of of it’s name, there sould always be shakes available. Came to Steak n Shakes at Lakeland, Fl at night and they had no milkshakes available. 1st time visiting.

Don’t know about the atmosphere because it’s a fast food joint and we went through the drive-through. There was no confusion at the drive-through, order was taken politely, and filled without error. As far as fast food goes, this place has great tasting burgers. Well done!

9 out of 10 times our order is incorrect. The kids only eat plain sandwiches and I would think that would be a common thing. But we always have to go back to have them fixed and then by the time we wait for those to be fixed the original food is cold and the fires are cold. Always check your order before you leave if you have anything special on it
