Definitely not my kind of place. No one looked younger than 60, and if they were, they were with someone older. The food cafeteria style at best and the servers just dropped off the food and the bill at the same time with very little follow up. Would rather go to fast food over here.

I normally do not like shrimp and grits but theirs was delicious! Also the pasta salad, squash, butter beans, and tomato pie were yummy as well. I hate sugared cornbread so that was a no for me. The crab cake wasn't bad but I personally don't think it's worth that price. Great service, location, and food overall!

Cute little market and restaurant. My husband and I enjoyed the Island BBQ sandwich a lot. It was well cooked and very flavorful. For sides I got the Italian pasta salad, it was also super good. Everything you’d expect from a pasta salad, very refreshing. My husband tried the sweet potato casserole and really enjoyed that as well. Our server was Lucy and she, along with the rest of the staff, was super tentative and polite. Will be back in the future!

This is such a hidden gem. My husband and I just moved here from Atlanta and we were blown away. We LOVE good southern cooking. This place has so much charm and they know how to cook some good home cooked southern food. Best collard greens I’ve ever had! We will be regulars here I can promise you that! 10/10 would recommend!

We stopped at Stono for the first time several years ago. We had the BEST local tomatos on our sandwiches. Now, whenever we're in the area we make it a point to go to Stono. They have increased the number of tables over the years, but the food is never lacking. Be sure to stop in for some fresh, local yumminess and maybe some veggies, fresh baked goodies and art for the road.

We are locals on Johns Island and frequent the Tomato Shed for lunch and dinner. Love the she crab soup and the wonderful sides offered. Tonight I got a take out crab cake dinner and unfortunately the crab cakes were extremely overcooked almost burnt. Very disappointed, will try again but I will look at the take out before I leave. Did not eat them sadly.

Even better than the reviews we read! We waited a few minutes to get a seat, but enjoyed shopping the farmers market options and sitting on the front porch. We ordered the veggie plate and the bbq plate - both were fantastic. Wish we were local so we could come back to try more from the menu!

Stumbled upon this gem as passing by. An authentic lowcountry experience with the most amazing food I have ever had. 100% local produce. It was the most amazing burger I have ever tasted. Tried 4 sides as a veggie plate, and I highly recommend everything! I loved how they hosted and sold the local art and produce. Loved loved loved it.

Came here and had the Wadmalaw BBQ. The food was awesome! The service was awesome. I absolutely loved the atmosphere. They also are dog friendly and allow people with dogs to sit at picnic table outside. Will definitely be back!

We decided to have lunch here On our way back home. We were greeted when we walked through the door. 15 minutes wait time. Took time to look at the farm market. Vegetables, pasta, and homemade pies. Looked very delicious 🤤 our table was ready, when we walked over to sit down. The locals were staring at us, which made it uncomfortable. Sweet tea is very good, I ordered pimento cheese and crackers. lunch barbecue pork macaroni and cheese coleslaw with a cornbread. Mustard base BBQ. Cole slaw was sweet and so was the cornbread. The pulled pork was a little bit gloopy for my taste. The tomato soup was watery, with no chucks of tomato. Heavy with cilantro. Maybe we should have tried something else. 🤷 The Little market inside the restaurant was little overpriced items. I was a little bit disappointed. It definitely changed from what I remembered.

Food was excellent. Service and the people were friendly. We will be returning.

The service and the experience were great with the exception of my meal. The waitress stated they are known for their crab cakes so that is what I ordered. To be honest, it tasted more like stuffing than anything else and certainly not one of the best crab cakes I’ve ever had. The wife had the BBQ plate and it was good. We’ll come back, but we’ll probably not order the crab cakes again.

This was my first time having dinner at this Restaurant & It was horrendously bad to put it lightly. I ordered The Crab cake platter. I got 2 poorly made crab cakes That were burnt, Dry as a Bone coleslaw, Lukewarm Macaroni and cheese & an Iced tea. Price? $48.00!! Piss poor Attitudes & a Holier than thou atmosphere. A few words to sum up this experience. Don't eat here! Save your money, this place sucks!!!

We were staying in Folly Beach and it was only a 30 minute drive, so we decided to go see the Angel Oak tree and then stop for Lunch at Stono Market. We (a party of 4) were seated promptly and served drinks promptly. The hostess and servers were Oh so friendly. We all had Crab Cakes, Squash Casarole, Tomato 🍅 Pie, and Macaroni & Cheese. The Best on all!!! Weather a destination trip or in the area for vacation, don't deprive yourself this exceptional spot.

We recently went to the Tomato Shed and have been frequenting it for a few years now. We have noticed the food quality is slipping and that is major part of why we go there. We stopped through there today to get some burgers and sides. The burgers were supposed to be well done. Part of both burgers was very pink. The Mac and cheese was vacant with flavor. It tasted very stale for some reason. The Apple Cinnamon Walnut Bread was great although the 2 brownies we bought were stale and hard. I understand it is hard to maintain every aspect of a restaurant as I own a business as well. I will definitely not be ordering those things again.

If you are in the area of Wadmalaw Island, Seabrook or Kiawah do not pass up having a wonderful and tasty meal! Huge side selections from collard greens to butter beans and even macaroni & cheese! The Chicken salad sandwich was awesome!!

I had heard many reviews and suggestions from a local facebook page to try this out and we're glad we made the stop on the way back from the beach. No need to be dressed up, and perfect portions! You feel like you're eating on your grandparents porch. I will say the tomato pie was a let down because I was expecting some sort of bread or crust to go with it but it was mostly onions and tomatoes. Great staff and knowledgeable on the food! The shrimp plate was the best thing we ate there!

Amazing! I had the grits, tomato pie, collards, and their skewers. The food is great and the service is phenomenal. The only down side is that I am visiting and won’t be able to try everything else on the menu.

The food was excellent and a good price for the portion. The waitress was friendly and helpful. I would give 5 stars but the woman running the register was rude and items in the gift shop were not marked correctly. A jar of whipped body butter and muscle rub were marked $7.50, but rang up at $12.99. The woman at the register refused to honor the marked price and an employee changed the prices on the items while I sat there. It was bad business and I wonder what else was not marked correctly. We had such a great lunch here! Lucy was so kind and helpful as we struggled to pick which 4 sides we wanted with our vegetable plates. Johns Island grown vegetables including tomatoes ( which are the best tomatoes around regardless of which farm they come from) as long as they were grown on Johns Island. They have their white skin boiled peanuts, I used to love the red ones but the ones are the best hands down, they have kind of a faint sweet taste to them. I would suggest stopping by to try some because they are delicious. They have all their other Johns Island farm fresh vegetables too. I know 6/8/2022 they had stone crab claws for $13.99/lb I got some, the were so delicious and big and filled with meat. They also had fresh shrimp 3 different sizes, I didn't get any of those. If you have not been here to this unique, quaint restaurant, and fresh vegetables along with local jams, jellies,, preserves, local geecie boy grits, local American Classic tea in variety of flavors and their various entrees, vegetables, casserole, desserts, cookies, breads etc to take home . I have been coming here for about 30 yrs, and have seen it transform over the years.
