The owner Charlotte, and her staff are absolutely wonderful....! I very much love their cookies. They have so many different kinds to choose from. They have great cupcakes and banana bread too. I am very thankful for excellent service and yummy treats. Looking forward to my next cookie already... Based on my positive experience, I highly recommend.

If you haven't been here, you need to get in your car! What an amazing place with outstanding desserts. Everything I've had has been wonderful! Today I chose the Berries & Cream Handpie. I've never had anything so over-the-top yummy! My newest favorite place in the County. I'll be back!!

Such a great variety of delicious baked good AND Charlotte, the owner, said that ANY of their scrumptious baked goods could be made Gluten Free upon request! Yes! we recommend Sugarcane and Shepherd Desserts. Charlotte met EVERY detail! The cupcakes are too pretty to eat. And the cookies. Holy Moly the most delicious, huge, flavorful... ever. (highly suggest the key lime pie whoopie cookie) The packaging is so cute! And, the prices are beyond reasonable.

I ordered a custom raspberry cheesecake for my birthday. It was not only gorgeous, but it was amazing!!! It exceeded my expectations!! Highly recommend!

Its an adorable little bakery. At Sugarcane and Shepard Desserts y'all will find amazing staff and amazing snacks. Everytime I go I get 2 to 3 boxes of goodies. They have a point system that offers great discounts and sometimes you can get a free cheesecake. I always end up having points when I go. My family and husband loves them. Their cookies are even better than Crumbl Cookies. They're best cookie is the Key Lime Pie cookie (It's kindof like a whoopie cookie) and their Chocolate Chip is pretty good as well as the Cranberry Orange (Just wish the Cranberry Orange cookies were as big as their other cookies. They are much smaller than the others).. So if you are looking for a great bakery to grab some snacks for you and the family, I definitely recommend stopping here.

My go-to place for gluten free desserts. They did a phenomenal job with my custom ordered birthday cake. Every dollar spent is a point toward earning free goodies!

I think this bakery is so accommodating and the owner and staff are wonderful. I called today for a last minute pineapple upside down cake. It was the only thing my father wanted for his birthday. Within hours it was fresh and ready to go. Pricing was a plus! Not high with prices at all! It was just so nice that they made his birthday special! Thank you again for the amazing service. The cake tasted amazing too!

Like other reviews here, my cupcake too was extremely dry. The taste of the cream was also pretty awful. All in all, it tasted like the cake was made a week ago. And this was my birthday cupcake. I’m quite sad about it.

I can’t say enough good things about this place! They’ve got a wide variety of baked goods, their packaging is super cute, and the atmosphere is darling. The customer service is really good too! Today was only my second time stopping in and I was remembered by name from the last time I was here, and I was treated very kindly. All my friends love this place too, 20/10 🧁💖

No second thoughts, do yourself the favor and stop in and see these great ladies here and the gem that is tucked away. I have recently relocated to Hendersonville and this has became a weekly stop. Holy cow the carrot cake cookie with that homemade cream cheese icing in the middle. But when you think it cant get any better you discover the Key Lime. After 25 years in restaurant management I can say these ladies do it right and you can taste the love in every bite. Thank you Charlotte and Rebecca for my weekly escape. 10 stars

Fantastic goodies. Whoopie pies and the cheesecakes are my favorites (Reese’s, plus seasonal favorites!) Charlotte, the owner, is so kind. Definitely recommend you try it, you’ll be a regular.

Was very happy and excited as well as pleased to come across this bakery. There are two wonderful ladies in there that make everything from scratch and I’ve gotten several different things. Everything is absolutely amazing tasty fresh. If you haven’t been by this bakery yet you need to go.

Sugarcane and Shepherd made cheesecakes for our daughter's wedding, and they were delicious! Our guests raved about the choices. This bakery was very easy to work with, responded to any questions quickly and provided a special touch to the wedding. Highly recommend this small business!

They make amazing cookies that you don't find elsewhere & their gluten free options are tasty not sad things.

I love this place! They did my daughter’s sweet 16 birthday cake, there was a little snafu, but they made it completely right! They are extremely friendly, and the cookie sandwiches are out of this world!

Was just rolling through to head to Asheville. I wish I could have tried the cinnamon rolls!! This bakery was fantastic. I really really enjoyed their cookies. Can’t go wrong with any kind of cookies. The staff was patient and helpful with selections and they were kind.

I was very impressed with this dessert shop! Their selection was great! I didn’t know what to go for first. We got the blackberry cheese cake, a red velvet whoopie pie that was the size of a small cake, a chocolate cupcake, and a variety of unique cookies to round it out. When tasted the cheesecake, it was perfect! Rich flavor; Moist but firm with blackberries swirled throughout - along with huge plump fresh one on top. My don also had some of the whoppie pie and loved every bite, moist cake with real cream filling! Needless to say we will be back often to continue the taste tempting!!

100/100 recommend this bakery, I cannot express my love for this bakery and the women who run it, I've supported them for three years and counting. From custom birthday orders to just going in and buying up delicious goodies, Charlotte has never disappointed in amazing flavors and bakes, now she has Becca by her side and these women do the best and most amazing job ever. I'm my happiest when I go in there and even happier leaving with my goodies. Please go in and give them a try, you won't regret it.

The baked goods are wonderful from this bakery. I love the cookies and the large, moist cupcakes that aren't topped with the typical icing that most bakeries use. The icing is not tasting like sugared shortening. This woman owned bakery. It's not huge and not going to be like McFarlen's. My life partner and I love the baked goods. We will continue to keep coming back. The owner is also very nice and friendly. Her employee is also nice and friendly. I love supporting them!

I am so glad I found this place! I’m from out of state and was craving something sweet and to take some home. I have never had better cookies and other assorted pastries in my entire life. I love a moist cookie and these deliver better than anything else. Sweet without being overly sweet, lively, and with flavors that compliment each other so well. The owner was also so kind with a wonderful personality. I asked so many questions on what’s what and she never hesitated to answer and knows her products very well. I described what I like and don’t like and she helped me pick out a lovely assortment of goodies. I am also shocked how low her prices are for the quality products she makes. I would have paid double what I did for what I got in my hometown.

Always something delicious and can make special orders if you like. Love the work hoopie pies and carrot cake cookie/pies. Banana and zucchini breads are delicious as well. Have some GF too if you want it. Wonderful owners too!

Went to look for a store that wasn't there anymore. Saw this place so me and my fiancée stopped in and was checking it out. It all looked really yummy but we ended up getting cookies. I got the snickerdoodle and cinnamon roll. They were both yummy. She said hers were yummy as well. Will be back to try the key lime pie.

Everything I have had from here is delicious, so much so I just got a dozen assorted cookies for a special friend.

This place is the best kept secret in the Asheville area. I have tried several baked goods and they are undoubtedly the best I have had since I have lived here. They have awesome cheesecakes and cookies , cupcakes and more. I wasn’t sure I wanted to share my secret but they deserve it. Try them now!

Awesome cookies. Stopped before work today, so delicious. The prices are VERY reasonable. You could probably get the same quality for twice as much closer to the city. Also the gentleman that attended to me was very nice and attentive.

Literally the best cookies I’ve ever had. Hands down better than Crumbl and Insomnia Cookies. Taste combined with the excellent customer service just ensures that they were made with love! Will def be back!

I don’t know how this place has ANY negative reviews. Or anything less than 5 stars. The owner (I believe that’s who helped us) was super nice and just gave the whole place a great vibe. She even gave us an extra cookie free of charge. I see people complain about the price in a couple reviews which is just plain ridiculous. I was actually impressed with how LOW the price was…as $5 for a cupcake or $2 for a cookie IS EXTREMELY reasonable..especially for the quality you get. We had a Key Line Whoopie Pie that was SERIOUSLY THE BEST WHOOPIE PIE I’ve ever had. Was shocked at how accurate the taste was and how Airy and light the Icing was. The lemon cookie and chocolate chip cookie were also PHENOMENAL, arguably best I’ve ever had (and I’ve tried a lot from countless places)… And to top off the TOP TIER QUALITY Treats, and A++ customer service, seeing the owners extremely classy responses to some of the ridiculous negative reviews (the handful that clearly can’t appreciate quality products) just says even more about the type of care she’s putting into her business snd food, Would definitely recommend to everyone and will be back very soon!

I have had many great desserts from Sugarcane and Shepherd (the ginger cookies are amazing!), but I was absolutely blown away by the cake they made for my wedding. I requested 2 layers, one chocolate and one yellow, and both layers were filled with raspberry preserves and mocha frosting. The cake was sooo delicious! It wasn't too sweet, the mocha flavor was present but not overpowering, and it perfectly complemented the raspberry filling. Everyone at the wedding loved it! As if that weren't enough, it was decorated exactly as I requested, and was absolutely stunning. I will definitely be ordering more cakes from them (as well as stopping by regularly for the delicious cookies)!

My husband surprised me with cupcakes for my birthday, I know he got them in the evening time but...presentation is very pretty especially with the candle on top but wanted a moist cupcake.

We had a cake made for my daughters birthday and it was delicious. They made it look beautiful too !!! The staff is super helpful and accommodating. We will be buying all our cakes from here in the future .I totally recommend the cream cheese icing !!
