This place is awesome! I wish we had some in CT where Im from. The staff was so friendly even tho my friends and I asked a million questions. Staff members came over to the table and checked in with us, cleared our plates and everything. Would give a billion stars if i could! Bonus the food was fresh and delicious, and portion sizes were huge! Love it! Cant wait to be back if i can ever make it to this area again!

Great fish tacos and other tacos too. The chips are great and the choice of salsas is nice. Eating my leftovers from take out at the moment. yum! Can't go wrong here, better than fast food.

Definitely a bit pricey, but our tacos and burrito were very delicious.

We LOVE Surf Taco! Food is always consistent and delicious, a perfect 10 in my opinion. My son who doesn’t eat out ever loved the beans. I was so happy to hear they are made from scratch and not from a can! Great service from the girly at the counter and the new pineapple habanero sauce was delicious. Only thing missing was the poppin pink lemonade. 🤭

i’ve been to a lot of ST in the last few years but i told a friend about it and said it’s better than Taco Bell so i took them there for the first time and i was embarrassed for bringing them because of the the quality and looks of the food !! we got 3 crunch beef tacos and 1. there was barley any meat! 2.the meat was soo burnt we was eating nothing but crunchy shell!!

I love surf taco so much. I first came here in the summer of 2022, and never knew there was a taco place around the corner near 10th Ave. I went today actually, and last Wednesday at the Belmar location- always so so yummy. Highly recommend the blackened shrimp taco & the mani taco. It’s amazing that both tacos came with chips, I’ve never seen that before! I thought maybe I’d get 1 serving since I got 2 tacos, but I’m guessing they give chips with each taco which I love. Big thanks to the people at surf taco- customer service & kitchen. They all rock

I came to pick up an order The people literally just watch me stand there for about three or four minutes and didn’t acknowledge me. They realize that I was there to pick up an order never been here Gonna come back

Took my boys here on my own recommendation and it was honestly terrible garbage worst tacos I’ve ever had it doesn’t feel like I even ate food it feels like I just put stuff in my stomach. I’m embarrassed truly I should have known when there wasn’t a single non white person in the whole establishment. Literally the worst tacos I’ve ever had in my life that’s actually insane. All the salsas and food just tasted like water like nothing redeemable at all no seasoning in anything. Guac was terrible chips were stale and only Dasani like are you serious? I couldn’t even tell what tacos I ordered we ordered the whole menu and I couldn’t tell what was what. I ate 5 tacos and I feel like garbage.

i used to enjoy it here but now they changed the menu and the food isn’t as good, i feel like covid might’ve hit them hard

Everything is delicious and fresh, and consistent across their different locations. Try the Baja Surf Taco or the Chicken Krunch Pocket. So good!

Ask for no cheese or sauce on your vegetarian tacos and pum...your vegan option.

Food is good and cleanliness is top notch, but omg these poor kids who work here! I was here a few years back and not only was there no tips, but moreover, a girl who had been working there for 3/4 years said she's never received a raise! What is this, slave labor?! Omg at that rate why wouldn't you go find somewhere else where you're better paid and valued?

Went here twice in just a 2-week window. The staff were helpful in answering any confusions I had. The food was also great. I ordered beef tacos both times I came here for dinner. I also like that this place has free chargers for both iPhones and iPads. I brought Bluetooth headphones with me both times I went here, so I was still able to listen to radio stations out of Central/Northern Arizona while waiting for my portable charger and my iPhone to reach sufficient battery for a 5-Hour trip back to campus.

Always a good meal here. A+ service and friendly employees. Mahi Tacos, Baja style is a winner.

No hard tacos! Why? The only thing worth going there for and they did away with it. I'll go to a real Mexican restaurant in that case.

Bailey who works at the belmar location at the counter is a refresh in the world to see as a young worker. Being in the customer service industry myself I know what comes with it. She was so on point and observant about everything going on around her and was quick to clean up after guests once they had finished. She took her time on the phone order with me and made sure the order was exactly how I wanted it to be. Even though this is just a small job in Baileys young life right now, I know this girl will succeed in all things she does in her life. Don’t mess with my girl Bailey!!!!!

We absolutely loved the Surf Taco we visited a year ago in a different location, and sought out this one for our 2022 beach trip. It didn't disappoint! $27 covered small meals and tip for two people, and the quality is fabulous. We love the salsa bar! They had no problem at all with my food allergy, and handled it perfectly. (Me: Mahi Taco. My partner: Buffalo chicken burrito. Two bottled drinks; we didn't see the fountain until too late. The taco and burrito each came with a handful of tortilla chips, not heated but still fine.)

I wasn't expected Mexican food this good in a small New Jersey beach town, but it was fantastic. The fish in the fish burrito was very fresh. My chimichunga was fried to perfection and tasted awesome. We'll be returning.

It was a casual enough place to stop by for some tacos after the beach , but nothing really stuck out to me as great. The tacos (shrimp, surf, and shrimp mango) were delicious, but I don't understand why each taco came with its own basket and serving of chips. 10 tacos = 10 baskets. Kind of ridiculous, in my opinion. Also, I guess keep "coastal cuisine" in mind because the rice and beans were so disappointing and bland when you're expecting Mexican rice.

Order from here often and food is usually good but not sure what they did with their menu on the app. Used to be able to order a crispy chicken taco and build your own burrito bowl. Neither option exists now.

Don’t go there. Board of health should be contacted. Very dirty and filthy, floors are sticky. Waited 90 minutes for 2 tacos finally left without my meal got a refund.

My first time at Surf Taco. To start, Anna, the cashier was so sweet and willing to assist me in making a choice. I ordered a 2 taco combo which included rice, beans, tortilla chips and a fountain drink $11.55. Each taco can be a different choice. I chose 1 tempura fried shrimp taco and 1 beef taco. Both DELICIOUS!!!! The shrimp were huge, tasty, not greasy and topped with shredded cabbage and white cilantro sauce. Anna asked me if I would like the beef taco shell crispy. Of course I said yes. It was obvious that the shell was fried fresh right before serving and loaded with tasty , quality ground beef and piled high with 2 mixes of shredded cheeses. The plate was piled with white rice and black beans. A whole lot of food, enough for 2 people to share. Anna, you will be seeing more of me. Thanks for being so nice!!!

Awesome quesidilla and #3 combo

Ordered a large to go order with kids and waited over 20 minutes which was fine. Drove away and when we checked out order later, they messed up the order. I drove back and asked for a refund and said I needed at least one taco to keep my kid happy and they charged me for the taco after making me wait almost half an hour and messing up my order. Who in their right mind does that? I would not recommend this place to anyone. No attention to detail and horrendous customer service.

You can never go wrong with Tacos from Surf Taco. I ordered Buffalo Chicken Tacos and Waffle Fries and both were great.

I find this surf taco to be the most consistent out of the 3-4 that are closest to me. The food quality is usually on point, temperatures/preparedness are legit, and usually the orders are always correct. Only thing keeping it from a 5 star is sometimes they have left out the lime slices from the surf tacos I have ordered and sometimes the portion sizes are noticeably different.

Quality of food is getting worse and worse. One of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. Food was soggy and microwaved.

Its ironic that a place dedicated to surfing and located right next to the water would serve up tacos that were so dry you'd think they came straight from the Gobi Desert I got an order of the Surf Taco, the Mahi Taco, and the Mango Shrimp Taco. All 3 came loaded with tortilla chips (so many that we ended up taking about half of them to go for our drive back home). Each taco came loaded with veggies and greens on top of the protein - a battered piece of cod, blackened piece of Mahi Mahi and some fried shrimp. Sadly each one was very skimpy on the salsa and sauce, leaving each taco rather dry to eat. Separately, the 4 salsas on offer were all lackluster, missing flavor depth and heat. Honestly they could be better served by throwing an Old El Paso salsa on the bar for the chips. The restaurant is decked out like a chill Cali surfer joint, and while we showed up on a rainy Sunday during Covid times, I can imagine how busy and lively this place must get

I’ve been to surf taco for many years now. It’s a cute fast food taco/ burrito chain. This time I opted to try fake meat( beyond meat) instead. It was ok. They need to add the spices and seasonings to it. It was too bland for my taste.

I find Surf Taco to be one of the best taco spots, better than Fins. Never had any complaints, really good food

Pretty consistent and if you need a small gathering area you get no hassels. Menus good but for value look for specials. Gonna try some of the seasonal stuff soon.

Usually love Surf Taco but this time it was not so great. Had to order online & once the order was placed it said there was an hour wait for a take-out order! Had I known I would have stopped somewhere else because we still had a long car ride home. Some of our items like guacamole were missing too but it was already too late to go back. I already had to go back in to get the drinks bc I noticed they were missing right away. Hopefully once they officially open again it will be better!

Food decent. Would have given more stars if they didn’t forget one item out of 3 ordered. Near closing time but how difficult is it to count?

When it's not crowded the service is fast. Not super cheap and stay away from the steak, it's chewy, but overall pretty good food and atmosphere.

The price was very off for the quality of the food. It tasted like plastic, and frankly, I think I'm being kind giving a three star review. Please improve the food, or the prices on the menu.

For a chain, this place is a great example of well done fast food. The Baja Bowl was delicious and they made all the accommodations for my no dairy and gluten preferences. The kids loved it too.

I have been coming to this surftaco for years and have loved it always. Byob is a crazy plus in my book. Sauces for days, the food is amazing, especially after a long day at the beach. Your tired and want to relax, this is the food to do it. Customer service is the best. All of them are so nice and down to earth always. Check this place out before u leave belmar. Couple blocks from 16th ave

Although there was a wait for the food this time, I have never been disappointed with whatever we order. Always delicious and fresh. It is my favorite place to eat whenever I come to the beach in NJ.

Two meals for free! We paid for ours and the wrong ones came out but we thought that they just missed some things (salsa on the side). Then they were like "ugh thats the wrong meal.. is it okay?" and we were like "well... we are already eating it soo..." then they brought out our correct meals for free. Very nice staff and super cool place!
