Best sushi place in NW Houston! It's a small shop, but excellent fresh fish and ingredients. If you like sushi, you have to try this place!

Sushiyo is one of my favorite restaurant. I always enjoy their food especially sushi & sashimi. The fish always fresh !!! I would recommend you the Tuna Tataki if you are tuna lover. Also, their shrimp tempura and udon are one of the best I ever had. Thank you very much ^^

A lovely cozy restaurant with excellent sushi. One of the best sushi places I've been to - extremely high quality ingredients, wonderful service, and very reasonable prices.

Wonderful people and food. I love their Poke bowls as well as their sushi rolls. The four of us have eaten here a few times and it has been amazing each time.

That is the most delicious sushi we have had in the cypress area.

I decided to give this place a chance for lunch break and it did not disappoint. Very affordable while still maintaining the freshness of the sushi. I'm not sure if the guy was the owner or the chef but he ran the show all by himself providing great service from refilling my soup, ginger, etc. I would def go back!

Wow, wow, wow. Super amazing place. Food of the hook tasty and fresh. I first was hesitant to try this place but after seeing the pics on Google, i had to try them. So I did and it surely did NOT disappoint. Helpful gentleman helped me with some items that I was not familiar with and the other gentleman (the owner/cook) came out to say hello. I was greeted right away when I stepped in with a warm welcome. Amazing place, amazing people that run this place.👏👏👏👏😍🤩 I will be a forever consumer here!!!!

Absolute gem of a place! We showed up in the evening with 3 adults and 5 kids from 2 years to 12. The staff was so accommodating and insisted on rearranging tables so we could all sit together. They made us feel so welcome. The food was fantastic! Every single thing we ordered. Even the miso soup was amazing. My kid who never likes anything devoured my miso soup. Sushi so fresh. Prices were affordable. Table service was very attentive. The location is out of our way, but we’d definitely come back here. Wonderful experience! I think this would be a great spot for an intimate date, too.

Some of the best Sushi in Houston…amazing food

Interrupting my meal here, and that doesn't often happen. This was the most fresh sushi I've had in ages. The taste of the fish, salad, and miso soup was absolutely amazing. Wait Staff was great as well and even had the cook ask if everything was ok. No fishy smell, just absolutely great food. If I could rate this 6 stars I would. Edit: The second time was just as amazing. This will 100% be a regular place we eat.

Excellent chirashi bowl and baby lobster roll! Simple but clean atmosphere and friendly staff/owner. Would definitely go again next time I get a sushi craving.

Diamond in the rough for sure. Food was delicious. Presentation was great. Customer service was excellent. A/C could've been set a few degrees lower but other than it it was an all around great experience

Drove buy & found this place. The waiter is nice & the restaurant is small but cozy. I had the Ramen, it was sooo good. Definitely coming back soon.

My first time here and I have to say this is the best sushi in this area. The rice was fluffy, tempura batter was light and crispy, and the shrimp, fish and all ingredients tasted fresh. Happy that I dont have to drive back to Houston to find great sushi.

AMAZING! I’m not sure why this place wasn’t PACKED. The sushi is fantastic and fresh, and the service is so great! The chef or owner was so so sweet and kind. We will definitely make this place a staple!

My to go place whenever I crave for sushi or teriyaki salmon! The quality is always top notch. I always order for pick up or sometimes come by in store because it’s really close to my house. I hope everyone try this place cuz it’s REALLY GOOD.

Been here 3 different times, dine-in, and it's been lovely. Great place for a date. Very small, but usually empty. Lots of to-go orders I guess! The quality of the food is fantastic, staff makes you feel welcome and at home. I ordered the sushi boat for my birthday most recently and love it. Give this brand new business a chance! Prices are more than reasonably for the quality of the dishes.

I ordered chirashi to-go and it was amazing! Very fresh and delicious especially for the price.

Great Fish Katsu! Loved the coleslaw that comes with it. The shrimp tempura was delicious, but missed the vegetable tempura. Excelent service.

Had a wonderful time here as the chef is kind and knowledgeable please don’t pass up on this place! Got the chicken Katsu which included gyoza (2pcs) ,rice, coleslaw, and miso soup. It was all delicious!

I can’t remember all the items we ordered, but all our food has been delicious every time. I have been there several times and the chef/owner is very friendly and kind and the wait staff have been as well. There’s plenty of parking in the back if none available in the front. It’s a small cozy place, I absolutely love it. The rolls are a great size. My favorite is the mango day roll. 😋 I am grateful and blessed to have had great experiences here every time.

This is the real deal. It is difficult to find good sushi in the Cypress area, and this restaurant’s sushi is on par with restaurants found in Midtown. Their attention to detail sets Sushiyo apart from other Cypress sushi restaurants. Even the most basic California roll will exceed expectations. Many people appear to place orders to-go. If you dine in, you will be treated to great service. I did not see the full menu online, but they have a large menu posted on the storefront as well as in the dining area. We ate most before I thought to take a photo, but wanted to still share a glimpse of the meal. We will definitely return, and recommend also for takeout over others in the area.

Food and service were outstanding. Best sushi rolls I've had in a long time. Definitely the best in the area. Food was fresh and made with care. I will be coming back and totally recommend it. A must try.

Excellent food and amazing service. Definitely an overlooked establishment

This is a lovely sushi (and more) eatery. I ordered their gyoza (fried) and it was absolutely delicious! Not only was it cooked to perfection, the dipping sauce added to the already wonderful flavor! Their tuna roll is exceptional as well! They have a Baked Baby Lobster Roll, which was a little too large for me to eat comfortably. It also lists masago and scallions for the ingredients, but they are both more of an accent than an actual included ingredient across the whole roll. (See picture) All that makes this a 5 star eatery in my opinion, but I ended up rating it 4 stars for atmosphere reasons. There was no available parking in the front of the restaurant, despite me being the only customer. There was additional parking in the back, but that had its own issues. 1) a BMW was blocking both reserved sushiyo spots. Which was both annoying and odd since I was the only customer. 2) after a wonderful lunch, I had to walk down a driveway that smelled not great due to a nearby dumpster. If you can park up front, or maybe if you're picking up a to-go order, I highly recommend this restaurant.

I have never written a review in my life. This place was absolutely amazing. Our server was very aware, our chef was super nice, and the food was busting (as they say). Every employee seemed to care and want a good experience, it was very heartwarming. Please come here.
