It’s a small place, but very welcoming one! The food was good, there is a lot of options between breakfast, lunch, and dinner, even desserts. This place is certainly a blast from the past, if you’re looking for a quiet and friendly place to enjoy company this is the place.

Walking through the door I have stepped back in time. An old style diner that's been around for ages. Quiet and just the right amount of AC during this heatwave. Had the breakfast special. Loved it. Cooked exactly as ordered. My server, Donna, represents the kind of server we love. Filling your coffee, which was very good, before you have to wave at her and wait for ages. Knowing to bring extra napkins at the start of the meal with being asked. Not to mention bringing enough extra napkins. It's the small things that are so important. My over easy eggs were actually over easy. Service was quick. Since I used the restroom let me report it was clean but very small. There are bars to help in using the low seat. Finally, Donna. She knows the regulars. Working the front all on her own when I was there. Both in house and take out. Excellently done. If this is your thing then come by and eat here. You will be happy.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside. But the food was amazing. Service was quick and professional. Prices are good. Very comfortable atmosphere on the inside. Staff were nice, and actually cared about the service to the customer. Not too cold and not too hot like some of the big chain restaurants. I will definitely be back.

Excellent food and service in an original old school diner. Also shares a parking lot with a very good dispensary if you’re into that.

This morning I ate a real breakfast at Tastee Diner in Laurel, MD—a thick slice of braised ham, two perfectly cooked over- easy eggs, fluffy biscuit, hash browns & onions, and 3 cups of strong coffee. Just so hearty & satisfying as I fed quarters into the booth’s jukebox at 50cents a song—Willie Nelson was my choice. Time for a movie to be made here, since it’s a classic—an island in the midst of sterile development & fast food franchisees.

It's run down and not worth the time. Go to the Denny's a few blocks away for higher quality food. All of the staff were amazing, friendly, and extremely welcoming. The product they offer is just really low grade along with the state of the business. A couple people in my group seemed to enjoy the pancakes though. Again, I really appreciate the staff wholeheartedly, but the food wasn't worth the stop.

Service was great! Waitress was very kind and their blueberry pancakes were the best I’ve ever had. I don’t even usually like blueberry pancakes.

Came in today to use the restroom, the owner told me there is no public bathroom so I would have to make a purchase, cool. I ordered fries, and handed over my card to the manager, a short Caucasian male. He then walked to the kitchen with my card. Noticing that, I called to him to bring my card back to the front and told him for the future it's not ok to go to the back with customers card, he told me I won't tell him how to run "his business" then advised me he could stop the fries. Upon leaving, I was told the guy's a heroin addict on withdrawal. BEWARE!

Burger platter was just right. Good selection of classic diner food. Pancakes were a little undercooked. Nice local joint.

I had the " jumbo shrimp" which weren't jumbo 😭And my husband had the liver n onions, which he said were ok Not sure if I'll be back And yes this was my first visit

A typical American breakfast place, who will bring you in a traditional American dining for a breakfast or lunch. The food had a perfect selection when I went for breakfast, with hot cakes, bacon, eggs, sausage, warm biscuits and more. Refill coffee and a friendly waitress. We even had a jukebox in our bots, taking coins. Feel free to go be transported in a traditional dine in!

Very wonderful atmosphere with good food and fun old-timers. Enjoy some music through jukeboxes that ACTUALLY WORK! Make sure to bring plenty of quarters :)

Some of the best service I've ever had, Patty came by multiple times to make sure we had what we needed. Had the chicken and waffles and it was great.

Food was just ok. There was a lot of bickering going on amongst the workers. I waited about 10 minutes just for my food to be bagged up. Also, older lady at the register was very rude!!!

I would give 0 stars but that option is not available. Place was outdated and filthy! Yuck! My daughter and I saw three roaches by the time we gotten our order, The waiter was very rude and the owner was even worse! The owner was yelling at another customer when we got there , just unbelievable especially when I have my child with me . Folks please save your money and go to another diner! Just a really awful experience and there’s a lot of drug activity at the motel in the parking lot. Not family friendly at all!

No service I had to ask from were to seat to get creamers for coffee. She didn't pay attention to me atoll. Avoid this dinner. Food also was OK but just barely.

Not much from the outside, be careful if the pot holes in the parking lot. The inside is dated, but the wait staff was quick and friendly. While I enjoyed the waffle, eggs, and bacon - I wouldn't recommend the chicken and waffles. The chicken is frozen and then warmed, not my version of fried chicken or a compliment to the waffle 😊 Other than that, the food was delicious, and we will return. It's also a 24-hours spot, I believe. Great for late dining after partying or a date night. There are steps into this establishment.

Had breakfast here 12/8/23 since the Silver Spring location closed down. This was the worst breakfast ever from any place I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. Ordered a med well t-bone, the worst steak ever. Ordered soft scrambled eggs they looked like they were bake the day before. REALLY DISSAPOINTED. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

This place has an amazing retro diner feel, a lot like the 29 diner down in Fairfax, which, decades ago was under the same ownership. I stopped in at dawn on a Sunday morning for the triple play breakfast with three poached eggs, ham, bacon, and sausage with a side of grits. There was a small contingent of local regulars that stopped in for their coffee klatsch upon the 6am opening. The staff was super friendly and down to earth. This was my second trip here and I’ll definitely be back again in the future.

This place has been here forever. Today was the first time I visited. Wish I had done so years ago. I recently moved to Laurel and pass the this diner several times a week. From the outside, it doesn't look like much. Well, the Tastee Diner is one of those places just goes to show that "looks ain't everything!" I had time while a nearby business was taking care of my truck so I walked to the Tastee. Inside was a classic diner, booths, counter, chrome everywhere. I was quickly seated and my order of two eggs, over medium with sausage and toast plus a side of home fries w/onions was taken. Those home fries are important, all too often I get luke-warm, undercooked and barely browned potato cubes. The Tastee Diner shares my revulsion of bad home fries because what I was served was a nice heap of hot, creamy on the inside, crispy and browned on the outside and edges, with onions that were perfectly sauteed and not burnt! I'll go back just for the home fries! My eggs were cooked perfectly and the sausage was just wonderful, like the essence of what a breakfast sausage should taste like. My white bread toast was as expected and tasted just fine with jelly. I didn't have coffee but my waitress offered refills at least twice to the tables around me. The prices were reasonable, the service was good and the food was great. Give the place a try, you won't be sorry.

Hard to find but lots of parking and in a place that needs a diner. Food was good and service too.

Not much on the ambience but the service (Patti) was incredible. And my spaghetti in meat sauce was really good. Cleaned my plate with the garlic bread 😊

En road trip en famille aux USA, nous sommes arrivés ici par hasard, voulant trouver un diner "typique" ou manger à quelques kilomètres de l'autoroute. Nous avons été très bien reçus, nous avons très bien mangé et nous avons apprécié la gentillesse du personnel du restaurant. Quasiment toute l'équipe est venue nous saluer et chacun d'entre eux à eu une gentille attention pour la petite fille d'un an et demi qui voyageait avec nous. On recommande chaleureusement ce restaurant qui ne paye pas de mine. L'addition est plus que raisonnable.

Truly a hidden gem. Took our son to college and needed a few items at the store. Found this place when doing a search for "restaurants nearby." Kind of hidden in the middle of the block. Doesn't look like much from the outside and the inside might be dated but that made it charming. All the staff was friendly. There were lots of Regulars eating there. Portions were good as were the prices. Our table ordered the Triple Play, corned beef hash, the grilled salmon blue plate special with green beans and hush puppies. The grilled salmon was just that...grilled, no seasoning. Other than that, the food was great. 3 people with drinks was a little more than $50. Looking forward to visiting my son again just so we can come back to eat. Lol.

This is a super classic diner. Shiny chrome and CD jukeboxes at every table. Just a really cool spot. The food's good, if you like the usual breakfast options. The service was really prompt and friendly when we were there. I'd definitely recommend Tastee.

Nice little diner. Went at 5pm on a Thursday and had the place all to ourselves. Great service from Diana. Hotcakes were generously loaded with blueberries and eggs were cooked perfectly overhard (and perfectly overeasy for my partner). Banana pudding was tasty. Overall good prices. Table jukebox worked great! $0.50 for one song and $2 for 7. Lots of old motown and country classics mixed with Elvis Christmas covers and one pop CD featuring Taylor Swift's 22 and Imagine Dragons' Radioactive. Fun to play right next to the Coasters. Right next door to a weed dispensary so the parking lot doesn't smell super great.

I always love to support Mom and Pop restaurants because they can be hidden jewels. The outside and inside tells of years of happy customers and is worn down but a friendly gentleman held the door open as we entered. I listened to our waitress Miss Donna greet us as we entered. Miss Donna was warm and had lovely customer service. Miss Donna went Absolutely Above And Beyond! Kindness and a genuine heart brings so much delight and is a lost truth in so many places. I ordered the Western Omelet and it tasted soooooo delicious like Mama cooking at home. Hats off to the Cook in the Back!!! All the seasonings hit perfectly and it was a nice size omelet bigger than Ihop. I forgot to take a picture. My husband got the Steak & Cheese omelet and grits. We enjoyed seeing the provolone cheese stretch as he cut into it and began to chomp down. We will definitely be back again!!! Thank you

This place is a real diner straight out of the 50s or 60s, probably the same furniture. It is amazing food for a good value and great service! No wait for a table, and we could tell that almost everyone in there was a regular. We liked it so much, we went back the next day.

Amazing vintage dinner ! Our server was very nice and the food was excellent. Prices are affordable and I had a great time ! I think it may be my new favorite spot !!!!! I loved everything about it.

I wanted to give a shout-out to Tastee Diner in Laurel. I've been to all the franchise restaurants in town, and can honestly say that I'm convinced that customer service is absolutely dead at those places. I started going to Tastee Diner a few weeks ago, and I must say, each time has been an absolute wonderful experience. The food is decent, reasonably priced, but above all, the customer service is TOP NOTCH! I really feel like I'm treated as family here. You just don't get that kind of feeling anymore at the chain restaurants. Great job to Tastee Diner! I HIGHLY recommend them over franchises!

I checked the ratings beforehand and noted they were affordable. The parking area is very choppy. But the food is great. The waitress was very kind. The place looks old and worn down- like they’re hanging on by a thread. But it’s an Americana diner tucked away in Laurel. With great food- I ordered a build your own omelette, grapefruit juice and pancakes. Anyone in the area needs to keep dropping in and supporting this place. Too many great restaurants have lost footing due to Covid. The place is old- so ideally the city of Laurel would invest in helping them move into the future. I would go back if I wasn’t on the move. So anyone in the area- stop in and take a load off. Your support may help them get back to what they once were. Overall 4/5-

Great little traditional diner.

It's like stepping back in time when you walk in. The outside doesn't look fancy but trust me it's worth walking in the door. Our server was so sweet and the food was delicious for a great price. 10/10 recommend

Very good place to eat with the family

The atmosphere might be a little outdated, but the food more than made up for it. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. Sure, the decor might make you feel like you've stepped back in time, but sometimes that's part of the charm. Plus, if you just focus on your food and ignore the surroundings, you'll definitely have a great dining experience. Overall, I'd say that this diner is definitely worth a visit, especially if you're in the mood for some classic breakfast fare. So don't let the dated decor deter you - give it a try and focus on the food!

Would give 6 stars....awsome place

We went there for breakfast and we came out with a new mom. Fiance accidentally spilled a little bit of gravy on her sweater and the server was there with a wet napkin. We don't even have to ask for refills. Everyone knows everybody. When you eat there you are like a family.

I've heard and eaten some hole in the walls. Alot of times there great hidden treasures. This place is a hole in the dumpster the food was trash. I paid 19 bucks for an omelet. Thinking it's pretty high should be good. Right? Wrong never again!

Simple Breakfast done Right. I can appreciate the charm and laid back feel of this OG diner. I drive past it often and always wondered…greeted warmly by staff, attended to promptly, the food was hot and tastee lol! I especially loved the option to play music of my choice at the table! I originally wanted a waffle, but was told the French toast is good, and a side of home fries with onions. Would post a pic, but I was crushing it before I thought to do so…it’s important to support local, family/independently owned businesses or the corps will really take over, support the American dream

This small diner has been in existence since 1938 from a physical standpoint, it's seen a little bit better days in the past. My wife and I both were there this morning for breakfast. I got the western omelette which was correctly prepared and done nicely and she got two eggs with the bacon very crisp. One thing we are a little surprised that is that neither grits nor potatoes came with the breakfast. This has been sort of a saint of procedure at literally every breakfast place we've been at for the last 20 years I know times are hard I guess they're forced to cheapen up however they can. For the two of us, it was $26 for breakfast which given what it was I think is a little high. So this place doesn't quite hit the mom and pop diner somewhere in between that and some of the wannabe Mom and pops like silver diner etc that are now getting a bit uppity in both price and everything else. Still, it was a decent meal and I guess that's the important part. On 11/20, we returned and had a marvelous breakfast. On this day, everything was perfect. Andy cream chip beef and some of the best I've had in years. They definitely get a two thumbs up on that one!

The Tastee diner is a quiet little place just off the main road. The food, coffee and service are good and you can play a few games of Keno while you enjoy your meal. It's a clean place and the food is served quickly. There's plenty of parking and the precis are reasonable.

Just order a crab cake sandwich it was decent only thing I would say don’t have it overcook but overall it was ok and also had a hot chocolate from there as well tbh it tasted water down and not to chocolate flavor

Our favorite place to go! Don't let it's outward appearance deceive you. It's an old, traditional diner-not fancy - BUT the food and service is always good! Waitresses are friendly and accommodating. We always find an excuse to come to Laurel so we can eat at Tasty Diner!!

I was in town for my birthday had a great dinner last night (not here). This morning decided to do breakfast before leaving. It’s tiny & tucked in the corner. Very nice people great serivce. The food was awesome if I’m back this way again I will be back. We ordered 2 Western Omelets with cheese 2 OJ’s our bills was $25.86. Awesome deal for me. Enjoy yours as we did ours.

I liked my visit. My server was exactly what a diner server should. Food was good. Price was at market. Don't look for a price break compared to the competition. It is a dive diner with good food.

If you are looking for pleasant people this is where you want to come. If you are looking for a clean restuarant and good food swing a wide loop. Food was awful😣 and the place was dirty. We were hoping for that "hole in the wall" experince. Oh well, i didnt happen. I paid $50 for a breakfast I could not eat. ...however had to tip the waitress because she worked really hard. The locals are used to the place so they frequent it but it's really bad. Be warned

The food is literal trash but it’s called tastee with no flavor. I ordered a flounder and shrimp, the cocktail sauce was opened, had black stuff all over it and moldy. The second sauce was expired. The fish was bland. A lot of the stuff holding my food was covered in dirt and grime My boyfriend ordered salon and the Salomon and immediately upon looking at it I saw no seasoning and it tasted extremely bland. Never coming back, first time here. The food taste like how the building looks. Dirty people dirty food

My crab cakes were burnt and had no flavor. My kids cheeseburger I tasted wasn't tasty either. The French fries were ok. Coleslaw was runny. Won't be going back.

Great food and the cook named John the best. Now they do have others that are good. Kist visit the place anytime of the day until 9pm and see for yourself. Cant go wrong. Had all breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Tastee Diner is a nice little diner I between the North and Southbound lanes of US-1 North of Laurel, MD. It has a nice atmosphere with many regular locals. I was greeted as soon as I entered,and served coffee shortly after sitting down (oh, BTW the coffee is delicious!). I tried the international omelet with fried potatoes, a short stack of pancakes (they have sugar-free syrup), iced tea, and a biscuit. The food was very good, and listening to the banter between the customers was fun. Overall a great experience, which means I will be back.
