A family member has been bringing us muffins and the like from this place for some time. We finally made it into the store early one morning for ourselves and I was extremely pleased. The woman behind the counter took time and explained the various types of muffins, ingredients, and customer favorites. She packaged them up with care and we were on our way. The restaurant has an extensive menu, was very clean and had a nice ambience for dining in, next trip for sure. It is great to see a locally owned establishment that provides excellent customer service and has great products ensuring the money stays local. I would not hesitate in recommending The Bakery Mill to anyone.

This place is always packed when we visit, but it's worth the wait. The employees are always friendly and the food is delicious. My favorite breakfast dish is the grit bowl with sausage, onions, peppers, and scrambled eggs.

Just went for breakfast for the first time and it did not disappoint. Grab some muffins to-go!!!! The muffins are so amazing!!!

One of the best restaurants in Gainesville even if it is quite small and quaint. All the staff are friendly and warm. The food is great and oh yeah the bakery is magnificent. We take everyone that visits us to there as their treat.

Excellent quality, the best breakfast I’ve had on this vacation in the United States. The muffins are extraordinary, excellent attention from their staff. Totally recommended, don’t miss the Orange Muffins and the XVII sauce.

Horrible customer service. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why people work in customer service without the goal of actually providing 'service.' The staff is rude. The food is good, but I would not recommend this place.

I like the homey inside. The muffin display is cool. Gentlemen who cashed us out is pleasant. Omelette is extremely greasy and BLT is bland.

We stopped to get sandwiches while on the road, and they were fantastic. Loads of fresh lettuce and tomatoes, good bread, and generous portions. And our order was made very quickly. Would definitely recommend.

If you’re not a regular here, don’t expect warm, friendly service. But the muffins are amazing!

This is our go to breakfast place. Food and service is great. I love their Grits Bowl. Their display of muffins look great, but haven’t tried yet.

Another update; Once again we made the drive once again from Dunnellon, Florida for the FANTASTIC selection OF THE GREAT TASTING MUFFINS (we ended up leaving with 18 assorted of them, a dozen of which we called ahead and purchased the other six just called our names to louded to be ignored) We couldn't resist breakfast as we spotted two seats waiting for us. The staff is always top notch whenever we visit. UPDATE: We came in today for a quick bite and a box of muffins and what we had was great food and kids running amok... Some of the kids belonged to other guest but one belonged to a staff member (working at the time) There was a good flow of patrons .. If you haven't eaten here it is a great spot for breakfast. ****** We came to this location after researching reviews in this area. Walking in you think about old Mom and Pops restaurant and it turns out that is exactly what it is ... A restaurant where 96% of the menu is made from Scratch in the kitchen. I photographed nearly the whole experience today and all I can honestly add is this place is FANTASTIC! The food is OUT-OF-SIGHT!! The Staff is 100% GREAT! IF YOU HAVEN'T EATEN HERE YOU SHOULD MAKE PLANS TO!!! We found out the baker makes a minimum of 300 humongous muffins daily of numerous different types and they sell out daily.......

Road tripping and found this place on our way through for breakfast . Service was amazing from all staff, the food man you are in for a treat! Delicious! Just want others to know if you’re on your way through stop, you won’t be disappointed.

Nice diner/bakery. Loved their muffins before some medical stuff lead me to being gluten intolerant. The waitress is sassy at times, but in a good way, and the food has always been solid. I mostly eat eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns there.

I went in just to buy muffins. The lady who waited on me had A NASTY attitude. I'm buying 4 muffins and she literally slammed them in a bag. Didn't wrap them separately just tossed them in a bag like it was trash. I asked her if she would wrap them separately, she rolled her eyes and started wrapping them. When I asked her if everything was OK, she rolled her eyes at me. No apology. No smile. Just eye rolling and mean looks. We won't be going back. It's not worth it. We live in Georgia and always stop when we come through Gainsville. It's not even worth my money. Not going to patronize a business and be treated like garbage too.

I took my dad out for brunch after doing some research online. I'm thrilled to have discovered this hidden gem! We ordered the Mediterranean omelet, turkey sausage, and rye toast, and everything was delicious, fresh, and plentiful. The muffins were equally amazing, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this place!

The grilled muffins are where it’s at!

Food was delicious and more than I could eat (and I always finish what Is on my plate). Picture doesn't do pancake justice; it was 10 inches wide and thick. Muffin tasted as good as it looks. Seating is limited and close together; not best place I have eaten breakfast. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This is rated a 4.7? I don't see how. Very basic at best. Nice professional reply. "I'll show you" attitude. I hope your business gets better.

I went there for lunch but had breakfast and it was awesome.

This place has great food and THE BEST MUFFINS I HAVE EVER HAD, EVER. I'm 44 and travel a ton. What a hidden gem. Always busy in my experience and worth the wait. They know how to make a proper gravy and biscuits. Wow!

I had a bad experience buying breakfast this morning at the Bakery Mill. I ordered the country breakfast, as well as an orange juice and an orange muffin. When my order was ready, the server, Zach F, informed me that the restaurant was out of orange juice and that the charge for the orange juice was refunded. I said "no problem" and went to my car. Once in my car, I saw that the orange muffin was missing. I went back inside and showed Zach my receipt. He told me that the juice and the muffin were already refunded. He then proceeded to take my receipt, crumple it, and throw it out. I requested a receipt showing these items were refunded. He printed a receipt with only the country breakfast listed. Upon checking my credit card transactions that evening, I saw that no refunds were posted and that the charge included both the country breakfast and the items I did not receive (the orange juice and the orange muffin). Not only was I charged for items I did not receive, but I was lied to and disrespected as the server took my original receipt and destroyed it in front of me.

We had a lovely waitress and the food is great! The muffins are fluffy and cake-like. The food is tasty, too.

Good home style cooking, without having to do it yourself! Plenty of stuffing in the omelets. Also lots of lovely pastries and muffins! Best of all ... great Coffee!!! ☕

I had the mill scrambler. It was very tasty, especially the home fries. Good service. Be careful of the display of baked goods. I gained weight just looking at it. Highly recommended!

The fact that we had to wait about 20 min for a table and that there were still people waiting when we left is a testament to the popularity of this local spot. Veggie omelet, corn beef hash, hashbrowns, French toast, and pancakes were all spot on. Grit bowl is a great concept, just needed a little seasoning I'm the grits. Loved the art work on walls. Waitress was awesome. Only thing I would say needs improving is the display case of muffins. It was messy and muffins falling everywhere. Did not look very appealing. But must have been good eating because they were selling them right on.

I've been here for the muffins and the hot food and both are 10/10 for breakfast food.

Bakery Mill is an amazing place that I love to go to for breakfast and muffins. If you haven't been here yet, then you're slackin'. From food, to the great, friendly service and cost efficient menu, Bakery Mill is always my top choice. They have a variety of muffins and what you order isn't limited to just that (take a peak at the breakfast sides!) Atmosphere is positive and full of all kinds of people and conversations.

A Gainesville institution. Excellent, friendly staff. Simple, but very good breakfast menu, an excellent lunch menu (Do yourself a favor and get the patty melt), and the absolute BEST MUFFINS north of Harriet's in Key Largo! I very rarely go back to G'ville without a visit to "The Mill" (for breakfast and/or lunch)!

This place has great food. I stopped in before going to the floor store across the street and had an excellent breakfast. The service was excellent and the place was very busy. We also bought a loaf of homemade marble rye bread to go. I will definitely be back again for breakfast. Thanks!

I can see why there’s usually a handful of sheriff’s deputies here in the morning. The food was great and will definitely comeback. The only issue is that this place is tucked away. If it wasn’t for a google search, I wouldn’t have known this place was located here.

“Don’t judge a book by looking at the cover.” In town visiting my father in law & was attacked to this place by the excellent reviews..based on the location “in a strip mall” & the exterior appearance, I thought I had been mislead. Once inside I was greeted with great hospitality, exceptional food & service & I was even entertain by my waitress & the owner “he ‘s the guy in the house slippers” it’s my understanding that he’s a regular l, need to be there before 8 AM. This will be my go to Gainsville breakfast restaurant.

Chicken in tenders and chicken salad dry and tough. Sweet potato fries not crisp. My wife liked the pasta salad. Popular with locals but not worth the detour for us

IMO, The BEST reuben sandwich in town! Marble rye bread is baked fresh every morning! And several giant muffins to go!

It's a small place but the Muffins and deli are very good. If you like muffins this is the spot from cherry to apple cinnamon to Oreo to banana bread. Prices are not bad for a freshly made muffin. We also got pancakes and eggs with home fries. Best home fries I've had to date. Also grab a honey swiss chicken bacon sandwich with pasta salad. The bacon was thick and cooked great. The chicken was tender and tasty I just wish it was cut thicker. Pasta salad was cooked right with not a lot of dressing. But overall great. Glad I found this place and will be going back to try each muffin and corn beef hash.

the food was excellent, staff was engaging. one of the few times I have been to a restaurant for the first time and almost couldn't decide what to order because it all looked so good.

This place was crowded. The seating was horrible people were sitting on top of each other. If you wanted to get a bakery item you were literally standing beside the person sitting down eating. The staff could barely walk through the tables. Staff were pleasant and the bakery items were okay

Best muffins ever. I had the strawberry and chocolate, my wife had the pistachios. I also had the veggie omelet, it was very good. Samara was our server, she recomended the muffins, and she was very nice. Great place. Whenever im in town again, ill stop by.

It definitely worth 5 stars. Love this place. Although it is not a big restaurant, food and service is excellent and the best thing I like is you do not need to wait a long queue as compared to other breakfast restaurants. Food portion is just right. Their muffins are always irresistible.

Safest restaurant in the county. Portions had gone down, but the last few times were amazing. Great atmosphere and waitress has an awesome sense of humor. Don't forget to grab a muffin on the way out.

My husband and I tried the bakery mill for the first time yesterday 5/12/23 since we moved to Gainesville and we love this place the food was good love the home fries and the muffins wow made fresh daily I have the chocolate chip and my husband had the raspberry muffin I only ate half and I just had the other half for breakfast and it was still so soft definitely recommend this place for breakfast we need to try some of the lunch menu as well. Honestly this is the only place I want to get muffins from from now on cannot wait to go back again. And the staff are super nice and welcoming there.

This is a nice little restaurant to eat at. The French toast was delicious and the sausage links were equally amazing. Tina was out server and she did an amazing job. Thanks Tina. I'll be back to try something new soon 👍👍👍👍👍

This is one of the best bakeries I’ve ever been to. The dining food is awesome. The staff is always great. And the baked goods are amazing.
