Definitely a hole in the wall place but BBQ was out of this world good! we almost went back for seconds but we were so full! We got the sampler plate which came with 1/4 ribs, chicken, two pulled pork sliders and two brisket sliders. It came with two sides and we chose Mac salad and salt potatoes. All of it was delicious and fall off the bone tender. Also came with corn bread that was so good!

Amazing!! Got the dinner sampler. The brisket slider was my favorite and then the ribs. Carolina gold sauce was absolutely delicious. Must try if you’re in the area!

The meat is nicely smoky and very tender but zero seasoning which was disappointing.

The food is good, and the people are great! It’s a small, mom and pop place, and they really try to please. The parking lot could use some love, but there’s plenty of parking behind the building and in the lot south of the building. And just FYI, they don’t make donuts anymore. Stop in, though… it’s a great little place!

Everything I have tried was delicious. Friendly people working there. I feel the portions are a good size.

This place has good BBQ. My only complaint is the portion size of their sides. My example is, the "Assorted Family Combo" is supposed to feed four people and comes with two 12 oz. sides. 6 oz. of a side, isn't enough for one person. 12 oz. of salt potatoes equals 2-3 potatoes, this is a portion for one, not four. It should be closer to 3-4 potatoes per person or a 12 oz. side per person. The portion size of the sides definitely needs to be increased. Still giving 4 stars, because the food is good.

One of my favorite places to pick up a fantastic family meal. Love the lunch and dinner combos. Last week we ordered ahead and they had two pulled chicken sandwiches all ready for us, with salt potatoes, baked beans and terrific cornbread plus a slice we shared of peanut butter pie. Family run and operated. So friendly. A local favorite. They have tables to eat in but we love taking ours down to the lake front at Indian Pines on a nice day.

The BBQ shack is the place to be! Andy his hospitality is through the roof! The food was literally the best we had on our three weeks cross-country roadtrip. we had the family combo platter so we could taste all the different kinds of meats, and boy oh boy were they good! If i'm ever in the north-east again, will defintilty without a doubt go visit him again. Greets from Belgium.

Checked Google, verified the hours, Monday to Saturday, 11 AM to 7 PM. Drove in from Rochester only to find a small sign "Closed June 10th to cater events". Zero stars, sad Christmas for you.

We stayed in Penn Yan 2 years ago and had brisket here twice and it was fantastic. My wife and I have been trying brisket at other places while we travel and we have not found anything that comes close to this place. Brisket was moist, tender, and full of flavor. (Other places: burnt outside, dry, boring) Next time we are driving through New York, my wife wants this to be a stop even if we have to drive extra hours to get here.

Went there for dinner, and the food was incredible!! The pulled pork sandwich was the best I've ever had with tender pork and crispy bacon. Certainly, I will be going back. The workers were so kind and friendly as well. It's a great restaurant in Penn Yan - I definitely would recommend if you're just stopping by or if you live in the area.

Let's get straight to the point, I was in town for business and the local boys asked me to get some BBQ with them. We walked in, I wasn't sure due to a very home style environment (relaxing chairs, house furniture, etc.). I ordered "the puckered pig" & Mac & cheese....GOD DAMN that was good!!!! I ate the whole thing and was pleasantly full. If you really want to order a great looking large plate, get a garbage plate (say what?), yes a garbage plate. ENJOY

Decided to come here after reading the reviews. I highly recommend this place if you’re wanting some good food at very reasonable prices. Outside may not look like much but don’t let that stop you from coming in. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town, food was well worth it.

We decided to stop here for dinner on a Saturday afternoon in early June while in the Geneva area and after reading the good reviews. Seating inside is a bit limited to just five or six tables, but most of their business is take-out any way, so we were able to find an empty table easily. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw and salt potatoes, and a half-rack of BBQ ribs dinner with salt potatoes. Very friendly service and our meals were served up in just a few minutes. The pulled pork sandwich was good; tasty and a generous portion. The half-rack of BBQ ribs consisted of five ribs with meat on them that were overcooked, dry, a bit chewy, and not much flavor. Definitely not the best ribs I've ever had. Very disappointing after reading the good reviews and expecting something much better. The cole slaw was good and the salt potatoes were OK. Our total bill with beverages was a bit over $41 plus tax, with the ribs and salt potatoes dinner making up $25 of that total. Definitely overpriced for the quality and quantity of ribs that I was served. Maybe the ribs that I received weren't the norm for here, but we don't plan on visiting again.

BBQ was decent - ribs were the highlight, super tender and melt in your mouth with a beautiful smokey flavor. Pulled pork wasn't anything to write home about, beans came out of a can, fries & home fries are super crispy and tasty. Was disappointed that donuts were down but we were there an hour or so before closing. Lady behind the counter was ultra sweet and prices are fairly low for the amount of food you get. Worth a stop.

Food was great. I had ribs and the wife had the brisket. Coleslaw and Mac salad were as expected. In time I hope they can dress the place up a bit. But don't judge this book by its cover, it's definitely worth the stop.

We saw the good reviews online and thought we had to stop in. Their food is absolutely incredible, very affordable for the portion size. You have to stop here if you're within any range of it or passing through. The owners are super nice and extremely generous human beings. The donuts are absolutely incredible as well. They're all made with fresh ingredients and you have to try them!! Such an amazing family run operation!!! We look forward to our next visit.

The BBQ Shack caterered our wedding they did an amazing job. They set up quickly, the food was delicious, and they packed everything up for us and cleaned up so we didn't have to worry about a thing.

They did the dinner for my rehearsal dinner and it was amazing. They were super easy to work with from getting samples to ordering to delivering. She was super responsive to my emails. The food was delicious and everyone loved it.

This place is always great and a wonderful alternative to the usual suspects including SF (which is our favorte) Andy's is a must go if you love BBQ are in the keuka lake area... highly recommended!!😊

This is a review for both catering and the normal restaurant as I have experience with them in both. In both cases the summary is that their food and service are amazing and I would recommend them for anything from a bite to eat on a road trip to catering a wedding. I will start with the food. I am not a New York or Finger Lakes native, I married into the area. My only experiences with NY BBQ were the famous Cornell chicken recipe, but I did have experience with other BBQ. I grew up a very short trip away from Kansas City. Home to one of the best BBQ cultures in the country, and BBQ Shack would comfortably survive and thrive in that market. They are not only the best BBQ I have tried in New York, they stand toe to toe against some of the best BBQ restaurants in the country in my opinion. The chicken is unlike any I have tried, much greater depth of flavor profile than I have found with most BBQ chicken, almost like a Carolina Vinegar based sauce and Cornell recipe were intertwined into amazingness. The pulled pork is very well seasoned and cooked, and a very good amount of smoke flavor and juiciness. The brisket can range from a pretty good brisket to the best brisket you have ever tried in your life, and the sandwich pairing with the pulled pork is heavenly. The sides we loved the most in descending order were chicken wing dip, mac & cheese, salt potatoes, baked beans, and coleslaw. All of the sides were good, those were just the ones that stuck out most to us, with the chicken wing dip being something we crave on a weekly basis as we do not live in the area. The service, while this is not as important to me as the food, they still delivered in every aspect for us. If you are dining in it is a wonderful atmosphere where they start preparing a person’s order before they walk in the door. This is what a smaller town restaurant should feel like, and it does. If you are catering you are done looking, you will not find something with better value and taste than them in the area. I recommend going in and getting at least one sampler platter and another meal to be able to try all the sides they have to offer, then make your selection based on personal preference, but there will be hard choices. They will communicate with you throughout the way, and are very good at anticipating your needs.

Went here with my dad and I got the BBQ chicken with salt potatoes. We had ordered our food and had to get an oil change in the auto body shop right next door. Right as we were finishing one of the staff was about to come out and give us our food in there! Absolutely amazing food with great people. Most definitely recommend, Nicolas Cage

Everything you want when you get bbq. Andy’s shake is nothing fancy but everything was done perfectly. Had the 2 meat combo, brisket & pulled pork. The sides were Mac&cheese and salt potatoes. Very generous portions and cooked perfectly. Both meats were moist and tasty. Personally I liked the brisket better but the pulled pork was great too.

Never a bad meal. Pulled pork is always juicy and you always get more than you can eat.

Great food and reasonably priced

I had the sampler platter which consisted of ribs, smoked chicken, and sliders of pulled pork and brisket. The ribs were amazing, the chicken was good, but I would pass on the sliders next time. The baked beans were very good, but the mac and cheese was marginally acceptable. We ordered ahead, and the food was ready to go when we got there. So you know what you'll at least I would definitely come back again.

Ordered BBQ to go. Got a pulled pork sandwich, brisket, ribs and portions are generous. Everything was good but I thought the brisket was off the charts good. Definitely will go back. Maybe one day we will get donuts which I hear are good.

Good and quick. Didn’t have to wait long for the food and there were plenty of options available. The pulled pork was good w/ a good portion of food. Prices are fair but lean towards the higher price and in my opinion. Overall the food was good, staff seemed friendly, and I would recommend trying it out!

I can't fully express how amazing this BBQ was. You don't get flavor like this by chance, they KNOW what they are doing. And they sell dog bones too! We got our food to go and had a picnic by the lake.

Great BBQ - genuinely delicious food at this place. Their buffalo chicken dip was the highlight for kids, and we also really enjoyed their brisket and ribs. Very casual and without any frills - but the food is king there.

Andy's is hands down the best BBQ in the area, no contest. Ultra fast, friendly and consistently good. Definitely recommend for a quick lunch or easy dinner if you're visiting the lake or on the area.

We had planned for a party of 15, and ended up with 30! There was plenty of food to go around and every single person raved about the ribs. In addition, the people at the BBQ shack were very customer centric and great to work with

We got half a dozen donuts and they were excellent, made right in front of us. Warm donuts are always great in my book. Did not get a chance to try the bbq but it smelled really good. Hope to have the chance to come back.

I am from Pennsylvania. I and my family from home along with my cousins were traveling and we ate here one day in the afternoon. The food lives up to its reputation and hands down I have all the respect for the quality of hospitality these people offer. Everyone there really nice :) x5 and the owners way of thinking stands out. The owner gave us free donuts (an actual dozen!?) just because they were the last batch of the day and he didn't want to put them to waste. Nobody else does that! These people are like your talented friendly everyday neighbors and they definitely in my memory and families have been remembered when we reflect on our trip. Hospitality is the service to strangers in a corteous way I learned in Culinary school and these people sure lived up to it! Hands down, no question about it! They're awesome. Oh and their donuts are no joke, these are better then any other brand out there. There frech fries taste like actual potatoes and live up to their title of being fresh. The BBQ? Is just really delicious, I can't stress any of this enough. Next time you're in Northern New York check them out!

Got the garbage plate with meatsauce, Mac salad, home fries and cheese with bacon! Super good. Extremely huge portion. Pulled pork sando my buddy got was great. Ribs were awesome and the sauce was smooth good flavored BBQ. Meat fell right off the bone.

Fresh meat, not frozen, so very moist. I had chicken and breast was tender and moist. Not common. Fries from fresh potatoes and fried in need tallo, not vegetable oil. Taste the difference. Owner, family, run so pride in food. Inside ís clean and bright. Informal. Donuts made to order, how fresh is that!

Ribs couldn't fall off the bone and into my mouth fast enough, a great smoke flavor.

I've eaten both the donuts and BBQ and they are delicious... But nothing like watching the kids see donuts be made/choose toppings! It's a must-do on the several trips to Keuka each year!

We made a quick stop for donuts! They were made while we waited, fried in Palm Oil. Had a variety of glazes to choose from along with toppings! Can't get any fresher then that!! Next, we'll have to try their BBQ!

I've eaten a lot of BBQ ribs, from Mississippi to NY and also on many Carnival cruises. The ribs here are the most flavorful and fall-off-the-bone tender of any I've ever eaten! Casual atmosphere, eat in or take away...fantastic! Too bad the drive is 1200 miles one way!! Regardless, I'll be back!!
