We spent a few nights in Cocoa on our anniversary and the Fat Nook would be the biggest reason we return. They really took care of us on a personal level and every pairing was matched perfectly. Our meals had so much depth of flavor it was incredible. If you are looking for amazing food and a restaurant that goes above and beyond, this is the place.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere, beautiful decorated. Great and fast service with polite and educated waiters Dinner was ok, I ordered the Thai Salad, which brings steak…it had 4 tinny pieces of it, little disappointing, but it was tasteful! But… the salad was extremely spicy, at the point I couldn’t finish it! And dont get me wrong, I love spicy food, but I couldn’t with this salad. Great place anyways, great for a date night or to celebrate a birthday like I was this time The staff took the time to write a congratulations card to my mom who was turning 70! Thank you Fat Snook

Had our first meal at Fat Snook tonight. We had the blue crab, corn bread, and tenderloin appetizers, red snapper and pumpkin cheddar grits with shrimp for entrees, key lime pie and chocolate desert. I give this 5 stars as the service and food appeal was amazing. The taste of the food, I think was ok, but not really something I would generally order, so hard for me to have a fair opinion. The deserts and pumpkin cheddar grits with shrimp were extremely enjoyed. The appetizers and red snapper were not for us, but likely just our preference and not reflective of the restaurant. If you like Carribean flavors, I am guessing you will love this place.

A moment of silence, please , for the departed Nomad Cafe in Melbourne, the previous restaurant where I wanted to lick the plate clean. But not to worry, the Fat Snook takes over in the category of wanting to lick the plate clean. This is a two generation, family owned place with loyal staff. LOcated right on A1A, parking is tricky, the facade is unpretentious. Inside it's clean, and very polite staff. As our table was being prepared, two other staff asked if we were being helped. The menu is definitely not extensive. The deviled eggs with street corn was delicious, ate every last speck. The crab soup was the same. My entree was the corvina with shredded vegetables was amazing, as was the swordfish. Desserts were the same level of excellence. So, excellent food, polite, knowledgeable, attentive staff. What more do you need? Make plans to go here. we are making plans to return.

Our first visit to the FS. My husband and I arrived on Sunday at about 6:30pm. The hostess/server said hello and asked us if we had reservations? We said no and then she asked if we would like to sit at the bar? I took one look at the makeshift bar, then surveyed the dining room and the unoccupied tables and squarely told her No. She said I’ll see what I can do. Being resourceful she found a table to accommodate this walk-in party of 2. Luckily the evening improved with the arrival of our starter, entrees and lovely desserts.

The food was alright, but the big problem is the head honcho in charge Corey thinks he is a Mr. know it all but he really is just egotistical. He tried to bribe me to post a “positive review” for a free glass of wine or free dessert which I declined. I’m here posting an OK review without free stuff.

Had great expectations for this place after reading all the great reviews and it fell short for us. We came here to celebrate our anniversary and the atmosphere is just not very romantic. I ordered the grouper which was overcooked. My husband ordered the red snapper which he enjoyed. All the food was good but not great. The best thing we ate was the key lime pie. We have major stomach issues after eating there as well so something was off. We will probably never be back as it just wasn’t great.

Best kept secret in Cocoa Beach, had dinner there last week on Sunday night and enjoyed every bite of everything we ate, from appetizers; the soup, corn bread was killer, we shared the special fish, and each ordered a dessert. Mile high key lime high-is a must! The Crème” Brûlée was inhaled in seconds, make a reservation. Even worth driving over from Orlando. We will be back no doubt!!

Visited the Fat Snook our first and last time. The steak was horrid. The fish was decent and the atmosphere wa a poor man's version of Crush XI. They acted like they were doing us a favor and didn't charge us for the gristled meat. They did expedite a replacement dish at full cost. Not going back. Overpriced and better local options available.

If you're searching for the ultimate dining experience with the freshest local seafood in Cocoa Beach, The Fat Snook is an absolute must-visit! Established in 2007, this upscale-casual gem has become a beloved staple and local favorite, even catching the attention of culinary legend Emeril Lagasse, who filmed a show here, cementing its status as a premier dining destination on the Space Coast. We dined at The Fat Snook in May 2024, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for an unforgettable evening. The staff was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring our dining experience was flawless from start to finish. The menu is a seafood lover's dream, featuring the freshest local catch, expertly prepared with innovative twists. Every dish we tried was a testament to the chef's dedication to quality and creativity. The flavors were vibrant, and the presentation was impeccable. The highlight of our meal was the Papusa Con Curtido appetizer, followed by a succulent seared grouper that melted in our mouths. What truly sets The Fat Snook apart from other good restaurants in Cocoa Beach is the magic that happens here. There's an undeniable charm and passion in every detail, from the thoughtfully curated wine list to the delectable desserts that provided a perfect ending to our meal. Be sure to make a reservation, as this cozy establishment fills up quickly – and for good reason! The Fat Snook offers a dining experience that is second to none. Whether you're a local or just visiting Cocoa Beach, do yourself a favor and experience the culinary magic that is The Fat Snook. You won't be disappointed!

The service is always excellent and the atmosphere is clean and upscale, but the quality of the food has gone down. We ordered the catch of the day, red snapper, over mushroom risotto with folded in kumquats. They ran out of kumquats and asked if apricots would be fine which should have been. However the risotto when it came wasn't cooked it still had crunch in the grains and the crusting on the fish was incomplete. At $56 I expect more.

As tourists visiting Cocoa Beach from Canada, our meal at Fat Snook was the highlight of our trip. The food was excellent and exceeded our expectations. We shared various starters, entrees, and desserts - everything was delicious. Also, the dishes were unique - the scallop dish with candied bacon and the roasted raisin salad were innovative and highly impressive. The prices were fair for the quality of the food and service. Great food, period. We ordered crab croquettes with chopped vegetables, beet and goat cheese salad and Caribbean corn bread for appetizers. Scrummy. My wife had the market special which was a beautifully presented halibut on herb risotto and I had the Thai steak salad. Only wine, beers and soft drinks available - no spirits - but the iced tea with mango or raspberry syrup suited me fine. I think you could really order anything and be delighted. Gina is the waiter this evening, and let me tell you, she is incredible. She is now the new Number One server for the 3Q with a month to go. Game over. Thanks for playing. Gina performed her duties as one who truly loves helping people explore dining at its finest and not one under the guise of an ancient wedbedrip. My only regret is that I did not record her exemplary performance as a lesson to all who come after her. From menu knowledge to effective food presentation, Gina had it all. Maybe it helped that the food was so good, but I have a sneaky feeling Gina could turn a dining experience at your local Waffle House into a black-tie affair, though I find it hard to believe she would spend any amount of time jousting with an unreasonable customer request. I asked Gina for one order of the Yellow Fin Tuna and the Amber Jack Sriracha Mussels. Before I even try to describe the array of flavors laid before me, could you look at the pictures? If I rated on presentation alone, this would be 5 Stars, and I would be done. However, as we all know, all I care about is execution. Hey, someone has to taste this stuff! One bite of the Yellow Fin, and I knew I was in the presence of a master chef. I have rarely had any fish taste so extraordinary. The combination of the fresh vegetables and mandarin oranges assured me I had left the ordinary and stepped into the fine dining promised land. I don't know how else to explain it other than it was otherworldly, complex, delightful, and comprised of flavors I didn't know could be combined to achieve such edible bliss. Forcing myself to move on, I placed a forkful of the Amber Jack into my mouth and died a little right there. If the Yellow Fin was all that, this was the bag of chips. The chef used an orange peel to offset the heat of the sriracha and in so doing turned a mild fish into a dazzling array of flavor layers you would expect to find in a Big City seafood joint as opposed to mild-mannered Brevard County. The Big Boy says, “Hands down, new Number One. You need to go. They book through Open Table. Ask for Gina.”

Our waitress was very nice, explained the meals with great detail. The food was exceptionally good, fresh quality ingredients , amazing flavor. Well worth the money spent. Oh and it was my husband's birthday and they were so nice to give him a personally written birthday card signed by everyone who works there, nice little touch that didn't go unnoticed and was very much appreciated!

Very overpriced. The only food for kids was a pasta with butter. Adult foods were not appetizing to kids and way overpriced anyway. We had to take the kids to McDonalds after eating there. Not much ambiance for the high price. Plastic top tables outside. Food was OK, but not great. Staff was very attentive though.

First time there. The food was good and flavorful. Not sure what I expected but I enjoyed all the flavors. I think I need to try it again to be able to give it all 5 stars. One or 2 domestic beers would be helpful. P.S. I drink wine.

What a pleasant surprise in modest cocoa beach. We tried seeking out best food in area and I’d have to imagine this is it! The food had flavor - not the butter, oil or salt like most places. The food, the ingredients themselves. Hats off the the chef, whoever sourced the ingredients and the super knowledgeable/kind staff (shout out Lisa / Tanner)

Family feel to the place starting with the awesome service. We had a reservation and arrived 15 minutes early. They said they weren't quite ready (which we were expecting, we were early), but they were very apologetic (even though they didn't need to be!) and offered to show us the patio to see if we wanted to sit out there - it was a nice night so we did, and didn't regret it! Quiet, nice breeze, didn't notice bugs, and surrounded by nice plants. (First weekend in Sept). Food was fantastic, very tasty. Only knock I could give was that the portion sizes may be a bit small for the price, but quality and taste made up for it. Good selection of wines, they do not serve liquor. It was our anniversary and they gave us a nice card that was signed by the staff, and customized our dessert to say "Happy Anniversary". A very nice touch on a lovely evening. Highly recommend!
