Had some drinks and crab cakes at the bar for happy hour. Heidi and Brooke were great bartenders; very personable, and the cocktails were excellent! We really liked the atmosphere and will definitely return when we’re back in town.

Hubs and I love coming here for the yummy food and great atmosphere. They always have good music and the wait staff are great! Highly recommend 🖤 lobster Cobb is banging!

We are locals to Fernandina and have never visited the Patio and I’m not sure why. Shame on us. This is a hidden gem. We stopped in to just listen to some live music and have a drink. We ended up staying hours and trying the island girl recommended by Amanda one of the awesome servers. Heidi and her staff are AMAZING and so welcoming. We also ate some peanut butter pie a most try if you are eating there. We are so mad we have waited this long to try. We will definitely be back and be regulars.

After seeing the reviews, we decided to eat here our last night of vacation. I have to say we were somewhat disappointed as The Patio did not meet our expectations. I had the shrimp and grits. It was good, but needed more grits. My friend had the pecan crusted salmon with a side of asparagus. The salmon was bland and had no seasoning. The asparagus was inedible and should not have been served. Stalks were way way too thin, almost burnt and some stalks were as tough as sticks. We asked for the pineapple coconut cake and after literally waiting for 20 minutes we asked our waitress what was taking so long. She stated they were backed up. Very small portion for $10.00. Doubtful we will return.

Dinner last night. Appetizers, meatballs, flatbread, and cheesy bread, all good. We got there during happy hour so they were all half off. We were a group of six. Five dinners came out together. Mine came out 10-15 minutes later. I went with the blackened grouper. It was not good, oily, pan fried, not blackened, and cold. My Mediterranean salad seemed like it had been sitting in too much dressing for too long, not good. I'd probably give this restaurant a second chance, maybe it was just a bad night. The food description sounded good but it wasn't. The grouper was definitely not a good choice and I would not recommend it.

Everything from the food to our server was wonderful, and the live music was a nice touch to complete the evening.

Nothing like feeling fat shamed on your anniversary. Please be aware of your audience. Our server was very good for the time we were there. Just the outing was ruined by my sensitivity to the comment made. The beer was cold, my mule was good and the charcuterie was perfect.

Would absolutely recommend for dinner. We went on a Saturday night and had about a 30 minute wait but it was well worth it. We enjoyed sitting outside listening to the live music, and ordered the crab cake dinner, braised short ribs, and kids spaghetti, all of which were delicious. Great atmosphere and excellent food.

This place was so good! I’m not sure why it took us so long to give it a try. We had the charcuterie board, shrimp and grits, and blackened grouper. All were wonderful and fairly priced. It was rainy but we sat in the covered patio area. They typically do live music but weren’t able to because of the rain, it would have been perfect if the weather held out. We will definitely be back. The service and food were wonderful.

Had family in town and we wanted something casual and outdoors so we decided on the Patio on Ash, I’ve lived here for years but this was my first time. Drinks were great, food was great, atmosphere was fun, live entertainment was engaging and fun. A great place to bring friends and family. I’ll be back.

After enjoying clams in Italy, I had a craving for them. The patio was the only lunch spot with clams on the menu, but they were just okay—when they say garlic, the mean GARLIC, so vampires, beware! I was also let down by the lunch menu, which mainly offered salads and handhelds. I had higher expectations. However, my grilled chicken sandwich was delicious! I sat at the bar and loved the atmosphere; the bartender was excellent, and the drinks were great too.

We had dinner and drinks today, GREAT food, Great drinks, Great staff and service, Great patio, Great live musician on the patio. A must spot to visit and enjoy if ever you're in Fernandina, Fl!

One of the BEST restaurants in Fernandina Beach! Also has one of the BEST waiter, Scott. We go for both the food and for Scott. Can’t go wrong with anything on their menu and they have lovely live music just about every evening. The crab cakes are amazing and so is the Steak Frites. Definitely worth a visit!

Dined at The Patio tonight with my husband and a few of our friends. From the food down to the service it was nothing short of amazing! I had the Black Beards mahi special with an old fashioned and my husband had the September special. His favorite was the shrimp and grits and the key lime pie (which was delicious). It was the perfect balance of tangy and sweet! All in all we had a wonderful experience and definitely recommend if you’re in the area and want to have a memorable date night. A perfect 10/10 - we will be back! Big thank you to our server Chelsey for the recommendations and making sure our glass was never empty!q

We had a delicious meal on Sunday night. We took our server, Chelsey’s, advice and got the Pollo Fernandina, and it could not have been any better. The drunken cheese bread and the steak frites were also amazing. We will definitely be back!

The Patio is awesome. I’m in love with the Pollo Fernandina. I also think they have the best happy hour on the island. The family who runs The Patio is amazing. The whole crew is like family. They work hard and create a vibe, especially outside on the patio once the sun goes down and the music is playing. Thanks Patio for everything you’re doing in our community.

Delicious! Thoughtful and confident menu. A variety of seating options. Thoroughly enjoyable. As an aside, I always appreciate live entertainment and I’d rather have it there than not; in this case, the very talented musician’s song selections were a bit depressing… rather than adding to an enjoyable ambience, they eroded the atmosphere a bit.

One word describes the food and service at the Patio on 5th and Ash - SUPERB! After asking local shops about their favorite restaurants we went exploring. Greeted and served beverages by bartender Carol, we were introduced to menu favorites and encouraged to return for the happy hour specials (3-6 pm). Absolutely the best decision for early dining on this visit. We selected the house berry salad, perfectly prepared with mixed greens seasonal berries, red onions, candied pecans, feta cheese and homemade poppyseed dressing. Our meal journey continued with drunken cheesy bread and the Fernandina famous meatballs. The selection and taste couldn't have been better. The strawberry lemonade is fantastic. Our server Bethany was extraordinary. This restaurant will definitely be on our list for a return visit. Looking forward to other items on the menu. Thank you Patio for a great dinner experience.

The Patio delivered in so many ways. We had a group of 8 on a saturday evening and the staff was over and above what we expected. The food came out super quick and was delicious with every course. The dessert trifecta was a hit, chocolate cake specifically. We had a couple of incidents with our grandson knocking over a water glass (2x) and the staff was super nice and put our whole group at ease. They had it wiped up and we were back enjoying our evening so quickly. We are so thankful to have entrusted you with our special evening and thankful to the hardworking staff to make us feel comfortable. This was our first time visiting Fernandina Beach and we stumbled across The Patio! What luck when Karlie, the bartender had two seats open up and we quickly snagged the coveted seats. Her recommendations were spot on, her jovial and attentive manner made this place one that we will definitely drive back to come for!! *Sidenote- whether you are GF or not please try the black & blue cauliflower pizza, you will not be sorry!

I have never had a restaurant experience this bad. Had a bigger party and was told they could accommodate; this was not the case. Waited over 1hr for the food to arrive when it was supposedly a limited menu to begin with and when it did come it came one by one. Was told that some things were still being cooked or almost done. When I received my pretzel and salad it was not good. The pretzel was hard and stale, the cheese sauce was ice cold, and the salad was super dry. Waited over 45 minutes for a water glass to be refilled. The waitress came and asked how checks were being split and who had what and still messed up the checks. We also waited about 15 minutes for her to come back with our checks after we had been finished and waiting. All members of my large party are in agreement that none of us will be back in the future. For reference we arrived here at 1:15 and didn’t get to leave until 3:25. Just a very unorganized restaurant. I really wish I would have had a good experience considering the atmosphere is really nice.

Five stars from start to finish. We were welcomed by Isaac who felt like an old friend. There was a short wait while we enjoyed a drink and music. Once seated our server Aubrey guided us through the menu with a warm smile. The shrimp and grits and the short ribs were crave worthy. We will definitely be back!

We had a lovely experience at The Patio. While the Poe Pinson parade was occurring, it was a great place to view the parade and enjoy a libation. Destiny, our gracious server, was attentive and accommodating, to our multigenerational party of four. Once seated our table, she was very helpful. She made great suggestions, and was extremely pleasant and helpful. She was great at describing the specials, and what was on the menu, and answered our questions patiently with positivity. The food was incredible. I had the special, the triggerfish with grits and a delicious cucumber salad. The flavors and textures were incredibly complimentary, and the presentation was perfect. At the close of our meal, she offered take out containers and thanked us for our patronage. Please give the chef and Destiny a meal and bottle of wine from our family-we had a perfect experience!

Our first visit was for lunch and it was do good we returned for dinner. Lunch was the tomato bisque with a beet salad, both were awesome. My husband had the crab cakes sandwich, which was delicious and loaded with crab. Avery was our server and she was very attentive and very nice. For dinner my husband had shrimp and grits. The gouda grits were so good, he ordered an extra side of grits. Delicious! I had the chefs Mahi Mahi, which was outstanding. The basil in the mashed potatoes was a nice touch. We will definitely be returning. Heidi was our server for dinner and she did not disappoint. We actually sat close to the kitchen and saw just how organized and efficient this restaurant is ran. They are serving outstanding food with a smile.

First of all, let me say that this place is adorable. The ambiance is amazing - love the patio and bistro lights and live music. They even have fans for outside which really helps with the heat. I ate here last night, August 10. Our server was very nice and personable. I just wish she was more attentive. When our food came, we had to hunt her down to get utensils and it took awhile because “they were out” which is odd for a restaurant serving dinner in a tourist market like this - I would think there would be plenty of utensils for patrons. My drink was not refilled until the end of my meal, so just a little more attention to details would be great. The real issue I had was with the food. I ordered the beef short ribs which was indicated on the menu as their specialty. When it came out, the plate was smudged with greasy fingerprints all over and really looked slopped together on the plate. It was also very cold. I flagged down the server to request it to be reheated and wow did it come back reheated. It burned my tongue (which I can still feel today!) and took at least 5 minutes to cool off to a reasonable temperature - there was literally smoke coming out of the meat when I cut into it. Now, for $29 for the plate, I’d expect not only better presentation but a little more vegetables. There were 5 pieces of vegetables in the “fresh vegetable side accompaniment” and they were undercooked at that. Thankfully the short ribs and potatoes were very good and a nice portion size. My boyfriend’s food was similar - taste was okay but presentation was awful. He paid $14 for a very small salad with an added protein and it was just slapped together. He requested an impossible burger meat to be added to his Caesar salad instead of chicken and the salad came out in a bowl with a large whole patty laying on top. He thought it would have been cut into strips like other proteins you could add to the salad and tossed in it, but it was basically Romaine lettuce, a little Parmesan cheese and dressing with an impossible patty covering it all up. Pretty basic, nothing special. All in all, I was disappointed because the reviews were so good and the experience was not the greatest. I looked around and other people looked like they had a nice meal in front of them so maybe we just got unlucky that day.

First time at the patio and the experience was spectacular! I tried the crab crusted grouper while my husband had the linguine special. The cosmopolitans were a hit for happy hour. We visited on a Friday night and after a short wait, we were seated on the patio under the large canvas tent. Thank goodness, it poured rain! Still our sweet server, Heidi, handled everything and everyone with grace and professionalism. The food was delivered hot from the kitchen (except for the salads :) We enjoyed a French dip, crab cakes, the Wedge Salad and the pork chop dish - all was delish. The musicians were great (before they were stopped by the rain!) Really nice people and good food.

We had the chance to eat at the Patio yesterday evening and was delighted by our experience. The host was absolutely the most friendliness I've ever encountered. Our waitress Destiny was awesome! Very attentive and recommended the perfect meal. Will definitely come back.

This place used to be among the best on the island, but recently the food quality has fallen off a cliff. Mussels were overcooked and over-salted, short rib (which has been good in the past) was small, dry, overcooked, and covered in disgusting undrendered fat. Lastly, the "Patagonia shrimp special" was a plate of absolute slop. Do not go here in 2024 until they step their game back up. 2 stars for our waitress and the drinks.

Please tell people that your Air Conditioner is broken when someone calls for Dinner information!! Way too hot for comfort inside and needed to be inside. Looking forward to coming back for the food. Review was for the atmosphere only. Had to leave.

Had an amazing dinner at the patio with family last night. The espresso martini at the bar was fantastic we enjoyed that while we waited and the happy hour deals are unbeatable ( get the cheese bread) . The shrimp and grits were the best we've EVER had, and the atmosphere was great. Our server Chelsea was fantastic and very attentive. We can't wait to bring our friends and family back here, this has easily become our new go to.

I hate posting this because we try to support all the local businesses and eat out all the time. We stopped coming here for a while but decided to give them another chance tonight. We ordered an appetizer and three different entrees. The entrees came out before the appetizer which was disappointing but two of the entrees were cold. The waitress did her best and had them remade but it was overall just a let down. Live the outdoor seating and the vibe of this place but we simply won’t be back. At least until there is different ownership. After getting the smart *** response from the owner I guess we won’t ever go back. Great to see that someone can’t take constructive criticism in a customer based business. Now you can add your lack of professionalism to the issues. I’m sorry that in the past I have given negative responses to poor experiences. I never ask for anything but offer the truth. Your response was ridiculous- good luck I hope you do great! Hopefully I can survive without it

First time trying The Patio Restaurant recently and I was quite impressed with the food, the beer selection, the service, the atmosphere and the price! Went during happy hour and theirs is such a great deal, I was pleasantly surprised when I got the bill. I will be adding this place to my "must go" list for when I visit the Island.

We visited the patio twice this weekend. Heidi and Antonio were awesome! Tremendous service and the food was excellent. Definitely recommend the honey old fashioned. You can tell all the staff loved their job and it made the entire experience something I would highly recommend. You can’t visit Fernandina beach without stopping by the Patio.

Super cute place to eat! We sat inside close to the kitchen, as it was a rainy evening. The chefs and workers were busting their butts getting food out! We started with the drunken cheesy bread. The description sounded a bit interesting but all the reviews said to try it, so we went for it. Absolutely delicious- I could've eaten my body weight in that bread!! I ordered the braised short ribs and my friend got the crab stuffed shrimp - both were amazingly delicious and we cleaned our plates!! Highly recommend stopping by!!

The pecan salmon was to die for, not only was that amazing but the white sangria was house made and made a perfect pairing. Brooke and Heidi were the cutest!

Loved this restaurant! A hidden gem. We loved the food and service. Our server was Katie C. She was so nice and helpful going over menu choices. Outdoor live music was really good. I only wish this place had more indoor seating, it was warm on the patio. But then we are in Florida in the summer. Haha. Can’t wait to return and eat here again when we are able to visit Amelia Island again. Happy hour was a bonus 👍

Ivan greeted us as soon as we walked in and showed us to our seats. He and our waitress were so personable! I usually have a favorite at each restaurant we visit and go specifically for that favorite dish. We are working our way through this menu because each dish looks so amazing and tastes even more amazing. We cannot choose a favorite. The chef here is really awesome and plates a beautiful meal.

One place we would be back to again. Boys thought the steak was the best ever, most of the food was good. Waitress was okay. Atmosphere is always good, would have been nice if the live music stayed but he packed up and left early. Overall a nice experience and solid meal to have with the family.

Stunning restaurant all around! Morgan was our server and she was absolutely amazing! The food was great and the ambiance was perfect. The food was amazing and delicious with generous portions. We started with the drunken cheesey bread and the meatballs and they were delicious! Then we had the pecan salmon, the Cajun pasta, the stuffed flounder and the steak. We have not a single complaint from this entire experience. To finish we went for a birthday and they brought out a whipped peanut butter pie and a massive slice of chocolate cake that was a slice of heaven! We will definitely be back every time we're in town.

This was my first time dining at The Patio. I came with a party of four on a Thursday night around 7pm. After a short wait we were sat on the outdoor patio which was comfy, well shaded, and entertaining with live music. Our server, Erin, was helpful and offered great recommendations. They were out of their Drunken Cheesy Bread and Tomato Bisque which was disappointing. I’ve seen so many rave reviews about both and really was hoping to try it. Instead, we had the Black & Bleu Cauliflower Pizza. It came out relatively quickly and I’d give it a solid 8/10. The cauliflower crust was some of the best I’ve had - fluffy and wonderfully crispy. The braised short rib was tender and the balsamic reduction was a great way to cut the sharpness of the blue cheese dressing. I ordered a Mango Tango to enjoy while waiting for my entree. The drink had a spicy rim that reminded me of Old Bay seasoning. Not too spicy. The orange liqueur and mango came through but weren’t overly sweet. Entrees arrived around an hour after ordering which was longer than expected. Our server did apologize for kitchen delays. I had the Blackened Grouper served over mashed potatoes with a lemon beurre blanc sauce (Erin’s recommendation). The blackened grouper was nicely seasoned, tender, and filling. Though the temperature made it feel like it had sat for a little while before being brought out. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the lemon sauce was a nice partner to the rest of the dish. The crab cake that topped the grouper was good as well. The dish just left me feeling a little underwhelmed for the price point -7/10. Toward the end of our meal, a manager took over serving us. She was fun and topped off our drinks and took our dessert orders. We ordered two slices of the 6-layer chocolate cake. It was great! Very rich, fluffy, and served with fresh fruit to cut some of the richness - 9/10 Overall, this is a great option for dinner. I plan to dine here again, but I may try a Friday or Saturday night instead and see if I have better luck!

This the 2nd time eating here. Both times the food and service was amazing. I had the braised short ribs, my wife had the Pollo Fernandina. Both meals were perfect and a large serving. Our waitress was very good and a pleasure to talk to. We started with the flat bread and finished with the Key lime pie. The last time we were here we had seafood and was equally impressed. This is a new favorite place for us. The choice of inside or outside seating makes it better.

My husband and I had dinner at the bar…Heidi was our server/bartender. She was amazing! She gave us great recommendations. I had a white sangria and my husband had a smoky honey old fashioned….both amazing! We started with the drunken cheesy bread and added the tomato bisque…best ever! For dinner I had the Mediterranean flatbread (actually had it on the cauliflower crust) and my husband had the paella…both dishes were very good. We shared a creme brûlée for dessert…chef’s kiss! I highly recommend this restaurant. Nice ambiance, too!
