Great place to enjoy a special occasion. Food and desserts were great. Service was outstanding. We will be back and recommend to others.

Well, we finally did it, we went to the salt block. It was my son in laws birthday and ha wanted to try it out so we went. To start, do not expect to be in a hurry, this is a slow paced place. Not in a bad way. We ordered the pimento cheese appetizer and it came with pita chips that day. It was good especially the pepper jelly although it was not asl spicy as expected. There is a high bar for a great steak in my opinion. We ordered everything from the prime ribeye to Jorge's chicken. My daughter got the scallops and linguine. It was good and there was a lot of it. Jorge's chicken was tasty but I was not a fan of the honey sauce. On to the steaks. I ordered my steak medium rare and my son in law medium well. What can I say, my steak was a solid medium, edible for me but much more done than I would expect. Also, there seemed to be some sort of au-jus on the steak that truly reminded me of dale's seasoning, let me say I am not a fan. Very salty and I had to scrape off some of it to finish my steak. The garlic potatoes were very good.and the beans were cooked acceptably. We enjoyed our experience for the most part but I guess I expected more, or at least a superior cook on a signature dish from a restaurant that is supposed to be famous for their steaks. They appear to be popular after being open for a few years. Maybe I am missing something for $65 a steak. We did try the key lime pie and it was good, as well as the lemon cake, that was a nice surprise. The service was real good but like I said, don't be in a hurry and you will be happy. For the money, I will probably not return. I get the idea and being almost the only fresh steak restaurant in town I see why people go. For me, I will travel a bit and get just as good for less than half the cost. Sorry to be the voice of descent for the local reviews, but, I am just being honest here.

Went for my husband's and son in law's birthday. I got the buttermilk chicken with mashed potatoes and veggie medley. It was good. Service was great.

Fantastic! Went with dear friends, and we all loved it. Atmosphere was relaxed. We did not feel hurried. The music was not so loud we couldn't hear ourselves think and our each other talk. We plan to go back for sure.

Service was wonderful. Quick to respond on Facebook messenger. Food was delicious. A lovey quiet anniversary dinner.

We left a restaurant in Chipley due to feeling uncomfortable, we called it was an opening, we made it in time,I was excited,I've been wanting to come her since last year!!,,the food was GREAT,service GREAT,best decision ever,AWESOME wine selection..can't wait to return!..oh yea,,Best Steaks ever!!

The Salt Block is delicious, cozy, homey, clean and well maintained and staffed. The staff was friendly and quick. That's the basics, read further for real details. Marianna is a small town in the middle of nowhere with only three things going for it; The Hinson B&B, the caverns, and THIS RESTAURANT. The Salt Block is a wonderful hidden treasure and Nick Rickman is an amazing chef. My wife and I had the absolute best dinner of our lives. The steak and porkchop were both seasoned and cooked to perfection. The live music was charming and unexpected for such a hole in the wall. The cozy atmosphere makes you feel right at home. It's a bit expensive, I won't lie, but it's worth every penny. Get in this place before the chef either moves on to bigger and better things or the place is constantly swarmed after it earns a few Michelin stars. As far as I'm concerned, THIS is THE reason to come to Marianna Florida. It doesn't have much else going for it, but this place makes it a must-visit for foodies.

We came across this restaurant by chance traveling through Marianna and decided to stop for dinner. One of the best meals we’ve ever had. The service was great, food was awesome. The chef was nice and came out to speak with the patrons to see how their meal was. So great. Highly recommend!

Go with friends so you can try all the perfectly created dishes. The most perfect steak I have ever had. And I’m always pleasantly surprised to try Chef Nick’s appetizers. Always familiar but still unique

First time eating at the Salt Block. It was really really good. I had the Filet Mignon that was delicious and my wife had, I think it was the Chicken Picata(this was an excellent tasting dish). Highly recommend The Salt Block

We had a wonderful time tonight. There was great food great service and the entertainment was outstanding. It's not often you get to hear live entertainment that is so professional add an upscale restaurant. The food was out of this world good as well. We all had pork chops tonight that were seasoned perfectly in married to vegetables that were definite pallet pleasers. We've been several times but by far this was the best outing.

Nick and his crew sure did deliver! Our food was outstanding. We had the smoked pork chop, the pork tenderloin and banana cream foster cheesecake! We had a large group tonight Mrs Carrie and her staff were wonderful and attentive. We were not disappointed! Will be back again!

Arguably the best steak in NW Florida, i'm happy I made the drive over from Tallahassee and I look forward to coming back many more times.

Incredible experience. I had the sirloin (Blue Rare) and it was cooked to perfection. It had a great flavorful crust, yet maintained blue rare throughout! The Bacon Jam Crostini and Pork Belly starters were a great contrast of sweet, savory, soft and crunchy. The filet was a tender, thick cut, and also cooked and seasoned perfectly med rare.

The Delmonico was delicious and the service was great!!

Food was incredible, wish I had tried it sooner! I ordered the New York strip which was supposed to be 12 oz, and received an 18 oz with no up charge. Steak was honestly the best steak I’ve had and was cooked perfectly! My wife had the jorge’s chicken and upon first bite said it was the best bite of food she’s ever had. We had also ordered the soup de jour which was a ribeye French onion and the bacon jam crostinis which were also great. The peach cobbler was also delicious and was a great cap to the night! Will be going back regularly!

My sister and I ordered - a glass a of Cabernet, Nice $12 glass. The Bacon Jam Crostini, a tad sweet, due to the bacon jam to goat cheese ratio, a squeeze of lemon on top counter balanced that. Got a side salad with in house made ranch, salad ehhh, ranch dressing tasteless. Ordered Prime 16oz ribeye, cooked perfectly, good marbleization, just a tad salty...and I'm a salty chick! For the only starch they provide, the mashed potatoes had good consistency but lacked any flavor. No garlic flavor or any herbs. Maybe hit it was some fresh chive would be nice. Chefs vegetable was green beans. They were cooked well, but some toasted sliced almonds or a little fresh garlic would add to it. No bread service. Just a few little chef touches would be appreciated. Nice touch of ambiance was the sprig of greenery and fresh rose on each table and service was great. Side note. Women's bathroom out of order. Men's bathroom seat left up and toilet paper roles stacked in a box???? Spend a couple hundred bucks and do something....what an eyesore!!

I have ate here probably 20 times. It’s always very good. I have steaks perfectly could a few times. There egg rolls are always good. They have the best ranch. The chicken piccata is always fantastic. The scallops are melt in your mouth. Needless to say this places is very good!

My husband and I went here for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The service was great, we never had to ask for refills on our drinks. My husband got the honey pecan chicken and it was good, except that the greese needed to be changed as you could taste the bad oil. The bacon jam was really good and had an amazing flavor. I got the lemon cream chicken pasta. The pasta sauce and the mushrooms was great, but the chicken had no flavor and was very dry. For the cost of the food I was not very impressed with the taste of everything. Also you will wait for about 30min for your food as there is three people in the kitchen pumping out food.

I was there for an office party. We all had steak which was cooked perfectly.

This is a wonderful place to eat. The food is always Top Quality and Never disappoints. The portions are very filling. We have the Pork tenderloin and Jorge's Chicken dish plus the pita chips and hummus dip appetizer. That is our go to dish here and it is delicious. This place is definitely worth a try.

Finally got to go to the Salt Block last night and it did not disappoint. Food was Amazing!! we had the Ribeye and the Scallops. Very comparable to larger high end steak houses like Ruth's Chris and Charlie's but better because its local. A couple of changes would make it perfect. Need more comfortable seating and it the temperature in the restaurant was very cold. Lighting was great and relaxing. I highly recommend

This is truly a hidden gem. The food and service were amazing. If you are anywhere near Marianna, FL, you must experience - you won’t be disappointed.

Best steak I’ve ever had in my life. The steak cut like butter. The chef was very kind and came and talked to us.

The steak was made the way we like it. The plate presentation was like on the food shows. Low lights with a candle on the table. The service is wonderful. The chef even came out to see how everything was and he even mingled with the other guests.

I’ve heard great things about the Salt Block. Went for the 1st time last night, my son n law wanted to try the special which was duck. I got a filet. It did not disappoint. Everything was cooked to perfection. And our server, Alexis was incredible!! Can’t wait to go back. The Salt Block is definitely an absolute gem we have here in Marianna.

We held a team dinner celebration, and they excelled in ensuring we had an incredible time! Their hospitality was exceptional, and the food was delectable. We were thoroughly enjoying ourselves, losing track of time and unintentionally stayed past closing time (apologies for that!), yet they never once made us feel unwelcome. Highly recommend! If I could leave a 10 star review I would!

Best steak in NW Florida. I’m from Texas and have had some of the best steaks in the world and this is as good as I’ve had. Do yourself a favor and try this place.

When you want an especially fantastic meal, Salt Block is the place! Friday and Saturday, reservations are a MUST! Make sure you have time and money😉 (this is top quality cuisine, with surprisingly ample servings, no ritzy tiny portions here!) Savor each course, because on a Saturday night, large parties back up the kitchen, but every bite is worth the wait. Great wines (Riesling & Bordeaux) , incredible entrees (we had ribeyes and Veal Piccata) and yummy desserts (Salted Caramel Cheesecake was phenomenal; Lemon Cake delightful, and Crème Brûlée delicious.) Brittany was delightful and attentive. We got our “time zones” confused and they were kind enough to seat us an hour early! Salt Block is our new “go to” special meal restaurant. (Sorry, no pics)

Came here last month for dinner while we were shopping for homes! We are from Chicago and food snobs but this knocked it out the park! Tuesday we will be ther celebrating a birthday as new Floridians 💕

It was a slow night for them in the middle of the week but I was not at all treated like it was a slow night. The chef was at his best and is top notch. The wait staff was attentive and helpful, especially with selecting the best meal according to my preferences. I’m a nutshell everything wax the best (and I’m seriously not exaggerating): the filet mignon wax the best I’ve ever had, the green beans and smashed potato sides were the best, and the hummus and pita chips were also the best I’ve ever had. And the wine selection was good. I ordered wine by the glass that tasted amazing and was perfect for my meal. I ordered dessert to go out of pure curiosity. They had me at mascarpone. And yes it. was amazing also. All in all they were all very nice and professional. They take a lot of pride in their art.

This has to be by far the best food I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant. My husband and I decided to treat ourselves and I’m so glad we did. We started the meal with an appetizer, Chef’s choice egg rolls which were Buffalo chicken and they were out of this world delicious!! I tried making them myself the following day and let me tell you, they weren’t even close to the same. I ordered Jorge’s Chicken Garcia for my entree, which is the best fried chicken, seriously amazing! My husband ordered the 16 oz ribeye and he said it was the best steak he had ever eaten. The sides were delicious as well to say the least. The service was exceptional and we both loved the simple but elegant ambiance of the restaurant. We CANNOT wait to go back. It was worth every dime!! Do yourself a favor and check it out!

First time trying Japanese Wagyu steak. It wasn't what I expected. There is a lot of fat in it and the texture felt like I was eating fat. Wagyu isn't for me. The seasoning of the food was absolutely delicious. The best part of dinner was the slice of cake we had. One of the best slices I had ever had. The food took a long time to get out, but everyone was very nice, and the ambiance of the place felt intimate. I will definitely return and I do recommend. Lovely place to go for a date.

The food was amazing as was the service. I ordered the pork loin thinking it was going to be 3-4 slices - it was the entire pork loin. Amazing amount of food for the price point. It was very flavorful and tender. One of the best I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was great. We also had the hummus and it was very good. You can tell it was homemade. I would recommend this restaurant over and over. Our server, Michael was simply amazing and I just love his personality and the way he took care of us. My brother and sister-in-law are from out of town and I wanted to make sure they had this dining experience before they went home. They loved it!

This place has the best food ever, I don’t know what the other ppls problem is that didn’t give them a 5 star (Susan)lol I have eaten here multiple times and sent people from work here to try the amazing steak/food and everyone absolutely loved it. I’ll be back there next week with the client. Can’t wait!!!!!

We ate here last year. You pay for great food, and this place is GREAT food. The best meal my wife and I have ate to date.

Well we have been coming to Saltblock for several years, and Krissy was always our go to waitress. Tonight we had a reservation party of 4 for my wife Mother’s Day gift with our son and his girl friend. Our waiter tonight argued obnoxiously that Salt Block has always served beer from a can never from a bottle! We disagreed and need to say that the experience was not pleasant from that point. Steak were good perfect as always but the appetizers and can beer in a glass was a very disappointing change. We felt that we needed to provide this feedback as in all visits before we would give the bottle beer appetizers and staff a 5 star. Tonight it was at best a 2.5 or 3 star. Steak again were perfection as well as was the Lemon Mascarpone cake but experience is more than the food
