My wife and I came in to get a Wine Slushie at the food truck outside. The drink was great and the two ladies running that stand did a phenomenal job and were both super friendly. That said, once we were finishing up, we witnessed one of the (I assume) managers walk into the food truck and loudly berate the employees in front of customers. He screamed bloody murder at them for not doing their job and "ruining his business". He also threatened to call one of the girl's dad once he fired her. Who in their sick mind thinks that verbally abusing their employees is ok, let alone in front of customers?! There was only a single family of three after we had gotten our drink so I really don't understand what the issue was. (He also screamed at one of the girls for smiling during this ordeal, which is a completely normal anxiety-induced response to a situation like this). We had initially stopped to get ice and were planning on doing that on our way out along with dinner, but after witnessing management abuse their employees like that, we had no problem driving the 25 minutes to mobil for ice instead of giving them another penny. It's a shame because we really liked what we saw and had a great experience up until that point, but I can't excuse abuse like that. This is inexcusable, do better.

Wow, what a phenomenal find! This place is an absolute treasure, especially for anyone camping at Rollins Pond. It’s impeccably maintained with everything you could possibly need and then some. The pizza? Simply incredible—perfectly cooked and loaded with flavor. And now with the liquor store open, it’s become a one-stop shop for all our needs. What truly sets this place apart is the outstanding team behind it. They're not just friendly—they're genuinely passionate about what they do. The owner, who was there during my visit, went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt welcome and taken care of. It’s clear that this isn’t just a business to them; it’s a labor of love. I have to give a huge shout-out to the sandwich makers—they’re culinary artists! Each sandwich was crafted with such attention to detail, and the flavors were out of this world. It’s rare to find such dedication to quality and service in one place. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and visit. You won’t just find what you need—you’ll discover a place where hospitality and excellence come together seamlessly. I can’t wait to return!

No public toilets, it's deplorable! We put $10.00 in regular gas for our motorcycle on October 4, 2023 at 12:20 p.m. Putting lead-free in it seems like a big hassle (read scenario) but it's doable. What is most deplorable is that there are no public toilets for customers. You have to go to the toilets at the Fish Creek campsite which is not very far but still! Adding a dry toilet outside the business during the summer should not be so complicated to accommodate customers, it seems to me. We promised ourselves not to stop here again! Tupper Lake is less than 10.5 miles south and that's where we'll go next time. We offer you 4 photos including that of the receipt. What a gem of a store this is, it's a life saver. Camping at Rollins pond, it's like a mile away. Has just about everything, did the pizza, and it was delicious. Liquor store next to it now open. the owner of both of these stores was there and a really friendly person. Lucky to stop.

This store does have quite a bit of items ans and thats great. Cashier was prompt and polite considering how busy it was she had amazing customer service. The gentleman making sandwiches in the back is more of the "Sandwich Naz!" "Gate Keeper" kind of reminded me of the "soup naz!" episode on Seinfeld we had a party of 10 but gave us a ration of sh!t saying we "come in and buy all the sandwiches and his customers have none." Last I checked we were in fact customers. Im confused if you rely on campers to keep your business going or not?

It's a small general store in the middle of nowhere... serving 2 large camp grounds and surrounding summer camps on Upper Saranac Lake. It really does have almost everything!

Always the best place to buy the little things you forget at home when home is +6 hours away. Prices might be a little higher for some of the bigger ticket items, like the cast iron things, but they're not the cheap ones you might find at a Big Lots, Target or Walmart, so you'll get plenty of mileage out of them. This is the first year my significant other will be camping with me, and he can't wait to try the Italian sub that he saw someone else raving about! Can hardly wait for this weekend!

The most legendary Italian sub you will ever experience. I am not over exaggerating. I will easily drive 8 hours just to get that sandwich. Every year I await my camping trip to fish creek and my highlight of the trip is that damn sandwich. Every. Single. Time. Firstly as an owner, I want all my customers to be completely satisfied with their experience in my place of business but I feel the need to comment on the review posted by Paul Burns and Krystal Simpson. We work hard and were very proud of our perfect 5 star rating on Google, Facebook and Yelp. That's a pretty impressive feat and none of them were "friends" posting reviews. I find it amazing that people that don't understand business and don't want to follow the rules can just "throw" up negative reviews that could possibly effect any small business without second thought. I know they won't effect us because we have earned a loyal and thankful following through our diligence and hard work. Firstly, Mr. Burns entered the store with a whole group of young adolescents and their chaperones and was politely asked to have one representative of his group do the shopping as his group took up our whole store capacity of 10. They deemed this as us playing favorites with other "local" customers and did not leave the store. When I asked them to leave in a more forceful tone, they all dropped they merchandise on the shelves where ever they were standing and left the store. What a mess and so little respect. A shame that a leader would teach young people this type of reaction to authority. We had every right to protect our other customers, staff and enforce our rules. Their battle cry was "we were all tested negative for Corona". So? Ms. Simpson, doesn't run a food business either apparently. The Corona virus is not transmitted via food. Our kitchen facility has an average temperature of over 100* and no, not all of my kitchen staff chooses to wear a mask. I make it their choice. They work under extreme conditions which by NY Food and Agriculture Dept. rules does not require a mask. We also have a barrier between the customers and the food prep area which also negates the requirement of a mask. The employee in question during her visit also has a Dr's note for his non-use of a mask. We were scored A+ by Food and Agriculture on our Corona virus inspection. The report is posted for all to see. All our customers are entitled to their opinions and to our opportunity to satisfy them with superior service and great products, but if you choose to post a negative comment in an effort to effect someone's lively hood please at least be educated enough to know what rules apply. Our family visited (numerous times) The Trading Post while camping at Fish Creek Ponds. Not only do they have EVERYTHING at that store, but the prepared foods are delicious. Most every morning we ride our bikes around the campground, then head to the store for the paper, coffee and a pastry. About 4, we decide what we want for dinner and head to the store! You will not find a better selection of fresh meats, pastries made fresh daily (get there early), made to order wraps and pizza, complete deli with fresh cut meats and salads made on the premises! And the freshly smoked ribs and pork shoulders are beyond excellent - make sure you look at the "sides list" and order early in the day. You will also find all things related to camping including fishing poles and worms, tent stakes, bug repellent, wood, etc. Plus a great selection of souvenirs-hats, tee shirts, pine scented pillows, ect. A great beer selection too! All this in addition to regular grocery items and supplies!
