Can't go wrong with a fresh and soft croissant, coupled with a mocha with JUST the right coffee/chocolate ratio. They have rotating special drinks that are tasty and fun too! Oh, don't sleep on the cheesecake-topped brownie either. Woooow

Nice staff, relaxing atmosphere and the coffee was wonderful

It's a decent cafe. Definitely better than most. That said, lately the baristas have been a little rude. Also, it's really nice that they finally have vegan cream cheese for bagels but it's a little sad that it comes with so much plastic -- the cup, the knife, the lid. If the staff would just take 30 seconds to spread it on the bagel, I'd eat ten of them. Also, the hours are a bit whack. 7am-3pm is so strange. I'm sure it comes down to staffing issues. But no more open mic, no place to chill after work, no chance to study at the cafe into the evening, and Friday/Saturday seem like just common sense to be open until at least 8 if not 10 or even later. Would be nice to be able to leave feedback on a comment box of sorts as well, so I wouldn't have to write this all out publicly. I asked for a way to leave a note for the owner and the barista just said no we don't do that here. Well, Google reviews it is. I actually prefer going to Esselon even though it's like 10 min further away. The atmosphere and staff and food and hours are all way better. Truly a shame given how nice it is to have a cafe so close. I have high hopes for thirsty mind. Might be good to keep dogs out too idk it's too small of a space and when a customer's dog gets barky or lunges at you, it doesn't feel warm or safe or welcoming at all.

Pastries and beverages are great. Bring back reusable mugs please :)

Cool Coffee Shop/Book Store with some food options. I liked the Mocha and the breakfast sandwich was good although out of a microwave.

Listen up! This place is the best coffee shop in the valley. Good drinks, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere. Looking for a sweet treat for yourself on a rain day? Look no further than the Thirsty Mind. Also, do yourself a favor and try the Hot London Fog (I get mine with Oat Milk). It is AMAZING! Thanks for the cozy spot to find solace!

I wish there were more hot food choices. That said, drinks are great , the atmosphere is cozy and bookish, pastries are fine. Plus, it's a beautiful location with lots of shops.

Over the years it's been hit or miss, more often than not, miss. Last visit, a few weeks ago, I ordered a medium iced coffee with a brown sugar shot. It was expensive, watery and had no brown sugar taste. Not giving them any more chances.

Stopped here for the first time on a fall October Saturday morning - the commons area is incredibly cared for and beautiful. The inside of this shop is so quaint and welcoming. The Americano I had was one of the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend this place!

Always a wonderful experience at Thirsty Mind. I toggle between vanilla lattes and their honey-lemon-ginger drink. Yum!

A cozy place to sit and relax. It has a calm atmosphere with lots of choices for coffee and tea. I had a Chai Latte that was spicy and delicious. A piece of pumpkin bread complimented my latte. Lots of books for sale for a buck a piece. You can’t beat that. My wife found a Nicholas Sparks hardcover…for a dollar! Very eclectic vibe. The other customers sitting around added to the positive, happy feel. There are various seating area which include a high countertop facing the wall, cushy leather seats with tables next to them and some standard cafe type tables and chairs. Artwork on the walls completes the warm and inviting feel. The place is clean, the employees are friendly and professional. I love it and will be back.

Such a cute spot! Countless syrups/flavors to pick from!!! Very welcoming atmosphere to want to sit and chat.. can't wait to stop by again soon! They even love furry friends!!

Real coffee done right. This is South Hadley’s café. I’m not in the habit of hanging out (I moved here mid-pandemic and got stuck in my ways), but the atmosphere is great. Relaxed, but vibrant. I wish I could give it more stars.

Absolutely love the coffees here!! They’re perfectly strong enough and very enjoyable. Great selection of pastries and a great cafe ambience with a good book selection and studying area! A little pricey but honestly worth it!

Really fast service and great environment. Dunno about the wine aspect but as a coffee shop it hits all the right notes. Variety of seating options, shelves of used books, WiFi and academic types studying. We aren't over here that often but if we wind up moving this way (high potential) I'll be in here frequently. As a writer who works from home places like this are sanity-saving.

Soooo good. The variety is great, the coffee is high quality as are their machines which makes for delicious espresso drinks. Cute atmosphere, authentic independent coffee shop. Many non dairy and lower sugar options, friendly staff. Fun old books, free to read, all over the shop. I come here every time I'm in town. Highly recommended. Support you local coffee shop!

Books and egg sandwiches, perfect! Okay, their hot black tea is Tazo, which is an abomination, but their ice tea wasn’t bad. But more importantly, delicious bagel sandwiches and macaroons! And books galore!

It's a great place to get coffee or stop and read a book, they have live music and a great drink selection.

Dining in is currently unavailable (2/14/22) but that doesn't take away from the quality drink selection and great baked goods they offer. The staff at Thirsty Mind always make you feel welcome and that is from when I first visited several years ago through to today. They serve esselon brand coffee which I happen to love and buy roasted from river valley co-op. I'm a coffee person but my wife prefers a chai and she particularly likes their iced chai with oat milk. If you're in the area and have never tried it definitely stop by.

This is the perfect way to start the day I was younger when I first went here. And I love the atmosphere certainly right up my alley. This place had always been refreshing and now that Fire and Water Cafe is gone I will be spending more time here. Congratulations funny please let us know how long you've been open so these kids understand how important this place is in the area!

Ordered two maple lattes that absolutely hit the spot. Well made and great coffee flavor. Staff was very friendly, too. Surprised (and good to know for others) that indoor seating is not yet open as that's part of the charm of places like this, but if you're looking for a good coffee to go, this is the spot.

Lovely chai and $1 books, and the option to have wine. Though I couldn’t sit inside (stupid COVID), chairs outside on a warm October day made this a great place to just BE for a bit.

Looooovvveee thirsty's - used to be a great hangout before covid - this place is more than just coffee - before covid it used to be a place for community, where you would run into people and find yourself spending hours there hanging out. For some reason before covid they started closing earlier, and didn't have their open mics as much. Obviously that's all irrelevant because of covid, but when they do open up indoor seating I hope they extend the hours again. Love that they have tandem bagels (but they should give more cream cheese with them!) and coffee is great. Workers and owner are very nice.

It’s so easy to order a breakfast sandwich online and by the time I get there it’s ready to go. Staff are always nice and their mochas are on point.

First Rate! If I were to have a coffee house with great food, delicious drink choices, and a piano stage, it would be like this! AND hundreds of books for a $1.00 !!!

This place would fit in well on Market St in Lowell next to Life Alive, it's got that nice eclectic decorating style that just has a good vibe to it The coffe is well made, and the price is right. You're gonna get a quality cup here and you're not going to spend more than Starbucks.

Excellent place for quiet premium coffees

This is the first coffee shop I’ve found that has non-dairy alternatives out with the rest of the milk and half&half. For that reason alone I’d give it five stars. They also make a great Latte and the atmosphere is super welcoming. I’d recommend this sleepy little hideaway to anyone who enjoys sitting with their coffee and enjoying the morning.

Cozy space, games, and main point for writing this, one of the staff members just ran out to give me my forgotten umbrella!

The counter employees are always smiling and always available to satisfy my egg and cheese cravings when I run out of time (or eggs) at home.

One of my favorite coffee shops in all of Western MA...and I've been to dozens. The entire Village Commons looks like it's a cross between a Dr. Seuss book and Lord of the Rings, and this place is nestled right in the heart of it. Add in a friendly owner and staff and lots of Mt. Holyoke students and this place is right at the top of the list.

LOVE Thirsty Mind. Room to sit alone, have a date, or grab the big table for a meeting of 6-8. Solid breakfast sandwiches and coffee - if you have a sweet tooth, go for the Thai Coffee (iced or hot). Plus beer and wine for your evening adventures!

I loved this place when I was at college and 25 years later it’s still the same cosy, friendly place to get a cup of coffee, read, listen to some music etc... Staff are friendly, coffee is great and I love the sign they have (see pic)

My husband and I were looking for a new coffee shop that was open during the late afternoon to evening on a Saturday. I found Thirsty Minds in a Google search and we were off. The shop is open til 8pm on Saturdays. We walked along the cozy Village Commons across from Mount Holyoke to the shop and we're instantly greeted by the barista. Taking in the vintage meets college cozy atmosphere and the various age groups of people in the shop, the barista asked what poison we were looking for this afternoon. When we said we were new he told us to please take our time and he would answer all questions. After a few minutes of going over, we settled on iced beverages and pastries. There were gluten free options. It took little to no time for our orders to be prepared. Everything was delicious and the shop gave us ample to look at and discuss. I definitely recommend if your looking for a quaint coffee stop

Blackberry Watermelon Lemonade - Yum! Chocolate crossiants and coconut macaroons are fantastic. Nice space to chat, work, or just hang out. Not a coffee drinker, but those I've been with love it. Nicely air conditioned. Great place.

Thirsty Mind is a unique cafe, offering traditional coffee items along with wines, beers, and mixed beverages. The staff was cordial, quick, and pleasant. The ambiance was extremely inviting with several plush couches properly arranged throughout the store, plentiful seating for groups, duos, or single patrons, and complimentary high-speed WiFi. There are two faces of bookshelves with varied selections for any bookworm to gander, and an array of board games for guest yearning for entertainment. So, are you in search for a quality cafe that offers an experience? If you are -- visit Thirsty Mind. You won't be disappointed. (If you are disappointed then check a mirror)

While the seasonal drink specials can sometimes be hit or miss, they are always worth the chance. The quality of the ingredients is always 5 stars, and the atmosphere is killer. The staff are charming and speedy, and the prices are well suited to the quality of the service. All in all, a great place.

I go here must Saturday nights for live music and a latte. Best latte in town. I have been given free CD's from local musicians and get to hear great music from them. They have a large coffee tea and alcohol selection as well as snack and light food. The prices here are average, and from the time of this post, my large latte with soy costs $5.35. There is normally good to hear attendance to events here but the cafe is small.

Again and again we get coffee , actually watery drink, that is of brown color... Drip coffee nor Americano is a quality coffee, basically brown water, The Americano is a shot of espresso into almost 12 oz of water, called small size, terrible....discusting Compare to a coffee on the right , not at thirsty mind, deep rich color, thickness, ....

Comfortable space, great atmosphere, and an open mic that’s more like a family reunion, the Thirsty Mind is a home away from home!
