What a great little cafe. The young lady who took our orders was so nice and friendly. The owner was also super friendly. Both of them were working hard and kept the orders coming all the while with a smile. All eight of us thoroughly enjoyed our lunches and we would all highly recommend stopping here.

I ordered a sausage egg and (cheddar cheese bagle. I got a sausage egg and (provolone) cheese. I could understand if they were busy. The staff was great. But when you are looking forward to a certain thing and don't really like provolone on egg

This place is amazing for a quick stop for breakfast. Staff are very personable, regulars coming in all morning and they know all their names. Food was great as well! Highly highly recommend!

There are places that try to be hip, try to have themes, try to be novel. Village Cafe does none of that. They simply make the perfect, straight forward version of what you want. Ever eat hash browns and wish that you only ever get hash browns like that everywhere else you ever go again? Service is great. They make sure you are getting what you want and make you feel wanted and at home. The atmosphere is simply this: you are visiting a neighborhood.

What can I say? The chicken pesto sandwich and fries are out of this world. I didn’t expect much. I was in the area and hungry but let me tell you, I was absolutely blown away before even receiving my food. First the atmosphere is very inviting, then the customer service experience was top notch, and finally the food…..AMAZING!! I would definitely recommend the village cafe to all of my family and friends!

For me the Village Cafe is the premier breakfast cafe in the area. I eat breakfast there 2 to 3 times a week. The front counter is dutifully manned by Rita who knows everyone by their first names and greets you upon coming in. The food is prepared by Nick, back in the kitchen, who pays attention to every detail to make sure your breakfast comes out perfect. For a breakfast sandwich that means your hard roll is buttered and grilled in the inside, your bacon is cut to sandwich size and crispy, and your egg and cheese are melted together when it is served. If you want something prepared differently due to personal preferences or dietary restrictions then just tell Rita and she will make it happen, no problem. The coffee is always hot and delicious. The cafe is usually open by 7:15 am. So stop in and give it a try if you haven’t tried the place. It’s a great way to start the day.

We had a delicious high quality breakfast sandwich & veggie wrap in a quiet, nicely decorated and clean restaurant. Highly recommended for a quick stop. Lots of locals go there.

Stopped by for a late lunch, and they were very accommodating (it was about 1:45pm, and they closed at 2pm). We tried their seafood salad sandwich, as well as their souvlaki. Both were very good. Fresh & flavorful. Really liked that they offered a side salad as a substitute for fries. This is on our list of places to stop next time we are in the area.

Stopped in with my sister & 4 year old nephew. I know the food is always good but the great service they gave to us was phenomenal. We highly recommend the food & friendliness.

The wraps are delightful, even the gluten free one. Skip the hashbrowns though they are genuinely awful, we didn't even eat them. I think they are made from last night's fries and they don't hold together, are super greasy, and have minimal flavor. My mom said the coffee was a hard pass too so bring starbucks.

The owners and staff were so kind and friendly. We thought we were stopping in for a simple bite to eat, but we had a truly full experience. They gave my son crayons and paper to color while we waited. The food was delicious! The creamy house made salad dressing was INCREDIBLE! We were just passing through on our way home from Mystic, but now we will always make it a point to stop here!

Umm YUM best breakfast sandwich I’ve prob ever had, worth the $ and I left so full , great atmosphere, welcoming decor and service was on point .

Quick breakfast stop of a fried egg on a roll ended up being a salty omelet which was annoying - there were only 3 others In the whole place - so why get the order wrong?. The blueberry muffin wasn’t bad and the toasted bagel with cream cheese was probably the best of everything. Not worth getting off the 95 for. The total for all 3 items was $13 and change.

I have driven by numerous times, but my uncle came into town and suggested this place. Thought why not. Had no idea it was a place with breakfast all day and lunch. The menu has many options. Took me a minute to look at everything. We chose tuna melts and a roast beef sandwich 😋. Nice Atmosphere. A good number of people came in and out. Clean and Atmosphere was diner like. The food was good. I'd come again

I went here to grab a quick lunch. Wasn’t sure what I wanted. The 2 ladies working were super sweet. One of them suggested a turkey sandwich. It was really delicious! Fresh bread. Fresh vegetables. Really good amount of meat. The best part was the service with a smile ! Thanks 😊 (forgot to take a picture of sandwich 😔)

We always get takeout and dine in at this cafe. It is always delicious. Service is always really great. Super welcoming. Breakfast and lunch are both good. Their french fries are my favorite. Definitely recommend this place!

The Village is one delicious breakfast sandwich!! I had mine with bacon, how yum! Cooked to perfection. You can get sausage too. The Village Cafe is that place where I walk in, feel at home, and always leave much better!

Wonderful sandwiches, salads, and breakfast items!

After stopping at Sift Cafe, and cafeSol, we couldn’t get seating, so we stopped in Village Cafe, it was a wonderful surprise! My father had recommended this restaurant multiple times but this was my first time! It’s obviously a family owned and run restaurant because the young lady behind the counter was so accommodating and friendly. The food was wonderful and tasty!! Next time I’m in Connecticut it will be a must stop!

It is difficult to articulate what a perfect sub is like. Sometimes it is just luck, but when you get the same experience time and time again there is some sort of magic. This little unassuming cafe has an amazing combination of fresh ingredients, and knowledgeable well trained staff.
