Absolutely spectacular golf courses. All of the servers and staff are so nice and professional. I was admiring the pin of a sheep for the Irish Course worn by our server Ellie. Such a sweet and smart girl, full of knowledge. Ellie took off her pin and gave it to me. A gesture that touched my heart ❤️ and will not forget. I highly recommend this hidden treasure in Wisconsin.

My first time here was with my wife for our wedding anniversary. Having been to most of the other Destination Kohler restaurants, we were excited to try this one. The restaurant is on the smaller side, which bodes well for it's atmosphere. We had a booth with a window overlooking the golf course. Noise level was excellent. Some restaurants can be too loud, but we were able to talk at a normal level and carry a normal conversation. Service was a little on the slower side, but that's understandable with the quality of food you're getting. The food is outstanding. The kitchen staff did an excellent job preparing our dishes. To be completely honest, the scallops were THE BEST scallops I have ever had. The food portions you get, paired with the quality of food, were well priced. The restaurant is on the pricier side (starting ~$50 for an entrée), but I felt the price was worth it (which you don't see much nowadays). The disappointing part, and the reason I'm only rating 3 stars, is because our server did not box our food, but instead threw it away. When we were finish with our entrées, she came over and asked "Can I take those for you?" referencing our half-eaten dishes. Mind you we were deep in conversation, thoroughly enjoying our anniversary date night. We politely smiled, said yes, and thanked her, assuming she was taking our half eaten plates to be boxed in the back like most other nice restaurants do. Both my wife and I had only eaten half of our plates because we also had an appetizer and shared a cup of soup before the entrées. After splitting a desert, we received the check but no leftovers. We were pretty disappointed because we were excited to finish the delicious food. When we asked where our remaining food was, she replied "Oh.. you wanted the food on your plate?", said in a way like what we were asking was appalling and should never had been asked. So she essentially just threw away half of our food and we still got charged the full amount. If the prices were like $10 an entrée, I wouldn't have cared. But my wife and I don't go out a lot just the two of us, and we really only dine at more expensive restaurants like Whistling Straits when it's a special event (like our anniversary). All we got out of our visit tonight was to eat half of the amazing food we paid for and a nice little "Happy anniversary" from the hostess. I don't expect special treatment for special occasions, but it's nice once in a while when a restaurant goes out of it's way for their guests, especially to resolve a situation caused by an server. Most of the night I was thinking "I can't wait to come back here again." But if the servers throw half eaten plates away instead of boxing them and don't even offer to try and make the situation right, I can't justify spending my money at this restaurant again (sadly).

Truly a destination spot. Wonderful views of the Lake Michigan, bagpipes at sunset. Lovely.

We sat outside, as it was a beautiful day. The dining patio overlooks the course with a view of the lake. Superb! Our food tasted great. We started with pretzel bites, which everyone loved. They came out hot and crispy. I had the potato leek soup and the spinach berry salad with grilled chicken, and candied pecans. One person had the mac n cheese, one had the caprese sandwich, and my hubby had a veggie burger. We will definitely be back!

Delicious ribeye steak, perfectly done as ordered. Comfortable with lovely view of the 18th hole added to the atmosphere.

Golf course, dining facilities and staff all amazing.

We were treated to a special dining experience at Whistling Straits. From perfectly prepared cocktails through our melt in your mouth steak entrees, it was fabulous. It is expensive, so save up for a celebration. You will not regret paying for great hospitality.

Our visit was a working dinner that included guests from Ireland. They were very impressed with their meal & the atmosphere.

We have enjoyed eating here for years, however, not up to the high Kohler standards today. I received my entrée but my husband's arrived 15 minutes later. I requested for a coffee refill 3 times. We asked if they had bread or crackers and was told no. Everything was slow, slow, slow. We were one of only 3-4 tables, so they were not busy at the time. Please, bring back the quality and service we came to expect from this beautiful restaurant.

The Ribeye steak was awesome, as was the Red Velvet Cheesecake.

Fabulous start to a weekend of golf! Kimberly our server was excellent; she was attentive, warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. I wish I had gotten a bowl of the Potato Leek Soup—so creamy and perfectly balanced in flavor! The Iceberg Wedge Salad was so unique. Each component expertly curated for a light dish with lots of flavor. My husband enjoyed the Friday Clam Chowder and the Fish and Chips as well. The soup was the star, but the whole lunch was delightful! UPDATE: I came back for a bowl a couple days later, and the experience matched our first time! 👍⭐️

Great food and views, but service today was really not great. They did apologize for it, saying that college folks had all gone and someone else called in. But lunch rush is a lunch rush for a reason. All hands would have helped. And when you’re the only luxury venue in town, you should be staffed accordingly. We will be back, but hope service will be better.

Walleye was overcooked, dry & very disappointing as it was the signature entrée I was planning on. Water glasses were not refilled without hounding staff. Bread for table was an add on item, "really" for resort of this caliber at their signature site?

Outstanding food, service, and views

Stunning setting, mediocre food. The patio is worth the visit, with stunning views over the course and the lake. The food looked SO good. The service was good. But the salmon Caesar wasn’t crisp or especially flavorful. The loaded grilled cheese beautiful, but oddly bland. The Irish Cheeseburger was highly rated, likely due to the intense amount of bacon involved. The fries were delicious. Visit for a cocktail and an app. Watch out, the exit we planned to take was closed.

Simple lunch menu, but very tasty food, highly recommend the potato leek soup. The service was wonderful, Lily was our server and was pleasant and prompt.

Was seated during lunch as began to prepare for a food review. I left after 5 minutes. I was ignored by the servers and unfortunately wasn't even offered a glass of water. I'm sure it's a nice place though.

Great ambiance and the salmon was perfectly grilles with light crisp on the outside and soft in the center. A great escape on a nice country road overlooking the golf course.

Sam, the bartender in the pub upstairs gave phenomenal service! Yuki the chef made a fantastic meal! 5 stars for quality and service!!!!

The iconic setting itself is indescribable without being there yourself. The food is fresh, simple and service impeccable.

It was just OK. The Food and the prices are NOT commensurate. The place is very nice. Our steak was way over salted to the point of being inedible. The menu could not be supported by the kitchen. We ordered the dove entree which was substituted with duck breast that was not very good.

I love all things Kohler, and this restaurant is always worth a side trip. In the clubhouse overlooing the 18th green and the lake, the food is great as is the service.

I love visiting this golf course anytime I get a chance. It has an atmosphere that you Immediately notice as soon as you drive into the gate. The food, cocktails and staff are 5 star. If anyone has a chance to come and enjoy everything this place has to offer they should.

Tried some new (for us) menu choices for a mid-pm lunch al fresco with a view over the golf course which will host the 2020 Ryder Cup next month and on out to our beautiful inland sea (Lake Michigan) - great food, good company, excellent service, and superb ambiance!

I accidentally stumbled into this restaurant while driving to the other restaurant and found out that one is close. Let's say, of you go to this one, make sure you drive to club house of this exclusive and beautiful golf course. I decided to eat on the patio since it was a nice day, but the inside of the restaurant is also very elegant. The view outside is definitely beautiful with over look the golf course itself. The facility is clean, server is great. The staff made me feel welcome even before I arrived the restaurant. The host helped me to get to the restaurant from outside, then when I walked she immediately recognized and welcome me. The waitress Michelle was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The food are great. I had a beer and the waitress also brought me a sample of the other beer to try. I order the lamb dish, potato leak soup, both of those dish were great. Presentation and taste both excess my expectations. The bread were brought out before my dishes came out were on point. I also decided to order the cheesecake as dessert to go and it was good but I think if I was eating at the restaurant I would have a better experience. I would recommend this place to someone wants to get away and just treat yourself to a good food and experiences.

Very pleasant late evening light dinner in the Irish Pub with a lovely view - the fantastic Irish Cheeseburger for me and Fish & Chips for my wife, both with veggies & hummus for the side, and a nice glass of wine to pair with our food (rich Seghesio Zinfandel from CA & crisply refreshing Craggy Range Sauvignon Blanc from Aoateroa/NZ). Jake (Jacob) provided excellent friendly & courteous service throughout our entire dining experience. We will most definitely be back, probably many more times!

Ate outside and setting is fantastic Watched golfers come in on nine and eighteen. Great experience especially as a lover of golf.

Great outdoor seating that overlooks the 9th, 10th, and 18th holes. Have a drink and a bite to eat outside. Staff is very friendly and do a great job.

The service was friendly and the food was exceptional. The facilities are beautiful.

The Whistling Straits Restaurant is a great jewel in the American Club crown. We visited one night of our honeymoon and it was a true treat. The Irish Pub upstairs was a fantastic spot to grab a drink before dinner, with well-made drinks and a nice conversation with the bartender. Dinner was fantastic, with both the Salmon and the Duck Breast being top flight dishes. The sides were amazing as well, especially the risotto and the cauliflower! There continued to be good variation with the special cocktails between the different restaurants, allowing us to try a few more different mixed drinks. The service was top notch and it was a fantastic experience!

First, I really have to say that the club and restaurant are doing a fantastic job with social distancing and cleanliness. But the restaurant itself may be smaller but my sandwich was excellent. I had the home made corned beef brisket, so tasty - with house potatoes chips. I will definitely go back.

Grab a table out on the patio and soak in the views. There is also indoor seating available. The service was a bit slow for us but the food was nice and reasonably priced. They have a good wine list as well.

A perfect spot to grab a bite halfway through the round (this is the halfway house?) A Wisconsin brat is probably the go to but don't forget about the 9/10 remaining holes you have left.
