Stand out winery - we had a wine passport for the area that gives you tastings at a lot of local wineries within the Peninsula - Santa Cruz County and Wrights was one of our favorites. The wines were delicious, the service was super friendly and their location is serene among the trees and vineyards. Also the drive off of 17 was really easy. Would go back and definitely recommend.

Wineries are great—but Wrights Station Winery stands out among the rest because of their hospitality, the enchanting views, the wine, and their natural ability to exude warmth and welcoming vibes. We stumbled upon Wrights Station years ago while on a work assignment to research lost railroad tracks that connected San Jose to Santa Cruz. Wrights Station has a rich, fascinating history involving Chinese railroad workers, the military, TNT, the 1905 earthquake, and the legacy of local entrepreneurs and pioneers that influenced Santa Cruz and the SC mountains. Wrights Station Winery was once a rail stop for families on picnic excursions from the South Bay to Santa Cruz. Today, it is *the* perfect picnic excursion. The winery itself is situated on a sunny hill surrounded by vines and redwood trees. Dan the winemaker is often seen interacting and serving guests. It’s dog friendly. There are fun events and pop ups throughout the month. A beautiful venue for hosting. Amazing deals for wine club members: 4 free tastings 2x a month, discounts, special events, and more. My partner loves wine, and I find wine and wineries intimidating. We take all our friends and out of town guests here. Wright Station has something for everybody. Dani in particular is warm and delightful. We always look forward to seeing her and she makes us feel right at home.

No food menu on Sunday. We thought we will have some wine and food, but no luck. Just wine. We were fortunate to get some oysters after a long long wait. Have been to better wineries with more fun and froli . This one is ok. Nothing great! People are good though. Friendly and polite.

I’m going to give this winery four stars. I debated three stars or four stars. But I’m gonna give it a second visit before I make my final decision. We got Santa Cruz wine passports. And decided this would be the first winery to visit with our passport. It’s a beautiful setting. Very clean and the staff are for the most part extremely friendly. Though there was a grumpy old guy behind the wine counter. Who was a little unpleasant to deal with. When we were trying to figure out which wine flight to purchase and follow through with the transaction. But we didn’t allow his cantankerous behavior to affect our moods. The thing was the staff was overwhelmed with a large influx of people. We did get our wine rather quickly. But never saw anyone after that. So we didn’t take the opportunity to actually purchase any wine. Like we usually do. at first I thought this was just bad timing but another friend who is a major wine connoisseur that I talk to about my experience. Had the same experience at this winery. My suggestion to this business would be. Prepare for your large weekend in fluxes of tourists. Because you’re missing out on a lot of sales when you don’t follow through after the tasting to inquire what people thought of the wine and if they’re interested in buying anything.

Have had a couple large events (20-30 people) with Wright Station, and we have had a great time. The staff is easy to work with and very knowledgable about their wines. It's a fun atmosphere and great wine.

Decided to stop by Wrights Station for a local getaway! Definitely a good spot to visit on the way to or from Santa Cruz. The two of us ordered 2 mixed tasters, and an empanada. Pricing was reasonable and staff was friendly. There is seating inside and outside. We were there during a Saturday afternoon, so it was relatively quiet, with only a few groups. Bocce ball available as well. Parking is available onsite as well. Shoutout Katie for being extremely friendly and courteous :)

We had a wonderful Saturday afternoon here…views were spectacular, and we loved both the Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs…staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and we will be back!!

So impressed with this Vineyard after capturing a wedding there this summer. The tasting room has such charm to it with a really cozy ambience overlooking the vineyards. The wedding space felt really special, guests walk down to the hidden redwood grove and can have a beautiful and quiet place for their ceremony and reception. It's like a big secret forest hidden by all the beautiful vines. Just perfect, what a hidden gem for weddings in the Santa Cruz mountains!

First off, huge thank you to Carol for her amazing hospitality! She arranged our party of 16 out on the side deck, so it was very intimate and perfect for my parents' wedding anniversary with family. Heads up though, you do have to prepay in order to make your reservation, but its only like $20/tasting. My uncle ended up buying a bottle of their Chard and Rose to drink there. I kind of wish I bought a bottle to bring home too haha.

Relaxing environment in the calm Santa Cruz mountains. Pleasant and friendly staff that provided very good service along with nice wines, with generous tasting pours.

Loved our visit here. We went casually on a Friday so the place was quite empty. They have a great outdoor patio area with view of vineyards and mountains. We took the station flight for tasting, Rachael was great explaining each wine and giving interesting history of the vineyard and grapes. Their Pinot noir (far away block) was really amazing and hands down the best wine. Would recommend the place to anyone who wants to go for some nice wines and relax with the views.

A beautiful and spacious winery with multiple rooms, patio with a view of the mountains, vineyards and redwoods. I recently planned and designed a small event here in the Dining Room which can accommodate small groups and large if you use the patio. There is also other bigger rooms for weddings and corporate events. Carol and Dani were amazing venue coordinators and all staff was very friendly. Had the opportunity to try this amazing winery up in Los Gatos today. The grounds of the winery were beautiful, the rich hardwood floors inside were inviting and the staff were sweet. Bocce ball court outside was a nice touch! I’m defitinitly coming back to try more of these wines. My favorite wine was the Cave Block Pinot Noir it had a good taste, full bodied but not too acidic, with a cherry / berry nose that was subtle but pleasing! Cheers my fellow winelovers!!

The atmosphere is amazing and it great all year round: there are many cozy places to sit and enjoy the view of the redwoods. The wine is very good. The service is great: my friends and I have always been warmly welcomed, and everyone who works here is helpful and kind.

Nice, easy drive up highway 17 to get here. Beautiful grounds. Very nice tasting room and main house with sun room. Lots of outdoor seating under umbrellas. They have a cool redwood grove for small weddings and other social gatherings about 4 minutes walk from the tasting room. They focus on Pinot and Chardonnay. They grow those grapes to make wine. In fact they told us they sell Chardonnay grapes to most of the wineries in the area. They purchase another varietals, for instance cabs. I really enjoyed the 2018 Estate Cuvée Chardonnay which was oak barrel fermented. It features perfectly ripe apple and pear-tart flavors. An earthy toasted taste. Bottle $33 The 2018 Lago Lomita Pinot Noir was also nice. Not sure if these are their grapes. Its dark and rich, lots of spice and intense boysenberry aroma and black-raspberry flavors. Bottle $43

A wonderful place to sip wine in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The views are unparalleled and the patio is amazing. They also recently opened up a redwood grove in the lower part of the vineyard that is perfect for private events. The rolling hills covered in endless vines is gorgeous. I really enjoyed their Chardonnay personally but all of their wines were very good.

I had no idea there were wineries near redwoods trees?? My friends and I did a weekend wine tasting here. Pretty cool that their wines are all procured from local grapes in the Santa Cruz region. My favorite was the 2018 Backwords Block Chardonnay. It was light with hints of lime. I absolutely loved walking around and lounging... just sipping on some vino and snacking on salami. The ambiance was very refreshing and I'll definitely recommend this winery to any friends that visit this area :)

We found out about this unique and cute winery from another wine tasting event at Testarossa winery. We are so happy that we found this place. It’s beautiful and so cute! Wine is good. Costumer service is outstanding. We will be back. I think most wineries use to wave your tasting if you buy bottled wine from them but not anymore in this location.

Great atmosphere, great wines and they gifted us some seriously good lemons feom the lemon trees.

One of our favorite vineyards in Los Gatos. Kid friendly, (I mean for discipline kids). Beautiful grounds and they gave the most buttery Chardonnay I've ever had. Totally delicious if you like buttery chards.

Lovely place. Good chard. Staff is obviously more attentive to Caucasian patrons than non-Caucasians, or at all. Typical Los Gatos people and I live in Los Gatos but I’m Asian. No need to book reservation online where they add $4 more to your $20 booking but if you walk in it’s just $20 no other bs. It’s nice they let you bring your own food.

Super cozy little winery a little down 17 set in a beautiful home-like vineyard. Smaller location so tastings there feel private and exclusive. We had two Chardonnays, a Pinot, and a Cab tasting for 22 and we enjoyed them all! The service was amazing, our sommeliers were incredibly friendly. Will return for sure!

It was our first time to do wine tasting in this area and Wrights Station did not disappoint. The place is beautiful and the staff very friendly and helpful. We made reservations for 1230 but arrived 30 minutes early and they accommodated us. They also check up on you every now and then. Among the 4 wines we tried, the Chardonnays were our favorite. We ended buying some to bring home. One of the best things about this winery is that you're able to bring your own food to consume while you're enjoying your wine. We got our lunch from the nearby Summit Store which has a remarkable deli. All in all a very good experience. We will definitely be back.

A great place for a beginner to learn! Robin is friendly, knowledgeable, and really helps you understand what you’re tasting. They have an excellent variety to match anyone’s tastes. Bring your own favorite foods to pair, but they also have a small shop with a variety of snacks and small items.

I don’t drink white wine let alone Chardonnay, but they had the best Chardonnay I’ve had! I even bought a bottle! Their wine tasting was delicious and even better that it’s free if you buy a bottle! So thumbs up to such a smart idea! Also the views are ridiculously amazing!

A hidden gem among the local wineries. It is just off Summit Road, and visitors need to stay sharp, as the street turnoff can be overlooked if you find yourself gawking at other tasting rooms on the opposite side of the road. Though a recent entry in the multitude of Santa Cruz Mountains wineries, Wright's Station has already developed great wines at 90+ ratings. Wine varietals available include Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Good wine club with pick up parties. Good for small groups with indoor meeting spaces and those who would like to enjoy a picnic on a beautiful mountain weekend.

This was the best place on our trip to Los Gatos wineries based on the wines. Views are also nice. Their membership program allows free wine tastings for up to 5 guests and they have plenty of seating inside and outside for entertaining friends.

Love the wines, amazing views and a great double-level huge patio. Cute interiors, too - the place looks like a magazine inside. They specialize in Chardonnay & Pinot Noir, and make a few of each - all grown on the estate.
