Just watched your video on Netflix and honestly you have opened my eyes to many things, not only have you had to over come many hard obstacles but have made such great success with such great loss, I watched this video today and it made me happy felt so many emontions, I felt your anger and your happiness while watching because I understand it's not easy to reach goals and dreams without blood, sweat and tears. And from an outsider and complete random who has never experienced your food or the atmosphere of 42 Grams I was amazed by your work both Jake and Alexa. But the ending of the movie is what broke my heart. I hope one-day I find the time to fly all the way to Chicago and meet you both of you. All I can say is don't give up on your business, the food you create and present but also to not give up on each other. - Ayla. H (Australia) *P.S Netflix's needs to have a recommendation tab after every movie for more people to watch and enjoy*

Worst fine dining experience. Horrible food. Nice decor in Shady location. Please just buy flight ticket to New York and avoid this place. Don't waste your money.

Exec. Summary: I bought plane tickets to fly to 42 Grams, but they canceled. So that's $220 wasted. Thanks. :-( Full summary: I have read other reviews about "anger management" issues from the chef yelling at his staff, but I decided to risk the dinner. (Now I wish I had not.) I am not pleased that a 2-michelin star restaurant would suddenly cancel my plans. I have eaten at Gordon Ramsay, Wolfgang Puck, Joel Robuchon, Guy Savoy, Jean Georges, etc..... all of whom are Michelin-starred chefs. I expect the pinnacle of service from them, and I expect at-or-near the pinnacle of service from the "42 grams" Miichelin-starred chef too. But instead he randomly canceled my 8:30 ticket that I had prepurchased two months ago. His site says, "No cancellations or refunds," but I guess he's above his own rules. That's approximately 220 dollars wasted on a nonrefundable California-to-Chicago plane ticket. Clearly the 42 chef thinks his time is more important than the customers who are paying his wages. He has forgotten the old British adage: "The customer is king."

Best fine dining experience I've ever had. BYOB, amazing flavors, and creative dishes. The only downside is forced communal seating.

Best meal I've ever had. You must experience what this husband and wife team has to offer. Such amazing food in a dinner-party like atmosphere.

It's hard to believe what such a small restaurant staff can accomplish!

Food is great. Kinda hard to find. It can get loud inside if there's a festival outside.

Chef Jake and his wife Alexa have created a transcendental food experience. Jake creates culinary masterpieces which sometimes defy all conventional thought but consistently amaze the taste buds. This is food preparation and creation as art and theater. Alexa comes into play as the hostess with the mostess not only greeting guests upon arrival but also explaining each course as it is presented to you. This is the sort of thing that could easily be way to highbrow or pretentious but the addition of Alexa as a travel guide for the evening allows your dinner to become something immediately accessible and intimate and altogether wonderful. Quite simply the most amazing dining experience I've ever had. Well worth your time and your dollars!

This review will fall short of the rapturous praise I actually feel about the food and team at 42 Grams. Dining here is akin to skydiving- not that it's dangerous, but unless the person you're talking to has shared the experience, they won't get it. 15 courses, 2.5 hours, artful and delicious, entertaining and welcoming. If you only get to do something like this once in your life, do it here. Oh, and don't cheat yourself on the wines you bring- they're bringing an A+ game, shop (on their guidelines) accordingly.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Dairy Queen, where I was served a Blizzard that not only had poor service but also posed a serious health risk. After consuming the Blizzard, I
