Great atmosphere. The fried green tomatoes and bottle caps were delicious. My husband loves hot sauces so he tried a side of The tropical sauce, very HOT with great flavor. I really liked the sweet potato fries with the sweet sauce.

This place is awesome, to the food the service and the location was worth every penny. Now I just need a nap!

First Burger - Angry Pepper, was fantastic. I’m not a spicy girl…. But, this burger was a great burger. Y’all have to try it.

Just stopped in for Mad Beach Burger Week and ordered their $10 Jalapeño Cream Cheese Burger. By far one of the best burgers I've ever had! Service was great, atmosphere was great. We will definitely be back!

Not enough waiters. They seemed annoyed, distracted and not interested in making you feel noticed. But food was good.

Florida eating good - enjoy the bbq wings! The flavor was perfect and they meat fell off the bones. The brisket was perfection. The blackened chicken atop the mixed salad was flavorful. Dog friendly so our guy could hang with us while we dined!

Any problem I had with this restaurant seems too petty to actually write and every time I begin typing it, I cringe. But I’ll give it a whirl. It was a lovely evening when we visited. We didn’t understand why the fans were on at all let alone high. So, the (already warm-not hot) food got cold very fast. Other than that, liked the trivia. Liked the flavor and the portions were huge. I’ll definitely return when a hurricane isn’t on the horizon.

I used to love this place but ever sense they have been on Uber eats all they do is mess up the orders I don’t think the cook can read they have messed up every delivery order I’ve placed in the last month. Three different times. I’ve lived here all my life and eat out at least twice a week I’m done with this place too many others in town

Was looking to try a new place in St. Pete and found this gem! The best brisket I've ever tasted, and the ahi tuna tacos were definitely delectable too! We had a little issue with our initial server, she seemed a little peeved by our questions, but we were new customers, so we had a few questions regarding menu items. But she decided to transfer us to another server, and the remainder of our dining experience was perfect!

Forgot my ID (my fault). But the waitress told me it’s the law which I was okay with. The attitude afterwards is what shocked me. “I’m in charge, leave if you want, not my problem.” Didn’t expect such a response. Would never come back. The delivery of response was more than rude. Her name is Sunny. Would try the restaurant out but do not let Sunny serve you.

Service was exceptional. Our server was professional, attentive, and friendly. The food was very good. We had brisket sandwiches, the kids had chicken tenders and a hotdogs, all with fries. Very happy with the whole experience.

I have come here many times and it never disappoints! My brother visiting from Pittsburgh said the ribs are some of best he has ever had! I agree! The ribs were so tender the meat falls of the bone..so.ladies..easy to eat with a fork..lol! The smoker is out back and smells heavenly! Great atmosphere and service! Delicious!

It's an interesting place. If you like food smoked this is your place. One of the best smoked fish dips we've had.

Fried Green Tomatoes are a must. Will be back to try more snacks, great place to have a snack, drink and watch for dolphins.

Always had a great experience here food is amazing and staff has always been great. Today we walked in and instantly the server was rude. Served my drink to someone else, realize she had made it wrong when I said something and immediately because disrespectful. She Couldn’t care to take my order. She walked away at three different times as I tried to order my food. Acted like I was problem for her for ordering food. Had a terrible attitude the whole time and constantly acted like I was an inconvenience for her. I’ve never felt this disrespected by staff, I was polite, yes ma’am, no ma-am, and she still felt the need to be short and rude with me. Even to the point of having an attitude with the rest of the table. With the attitude she has she should not be in costumer service.

Best food we’ve had at Madeira beach ever since we’ve come down here, which has been about 7 years. The service was great and the food was even better. All around, it was an excellence experience and would recommend to all my friends.

Spectacular ribs. Don't sleep on the broad range of hot sauces at the table too.

The fried green tomatoes are perfect and unlike anything I can find in TN other than homemade. Also loved the worth every penny 32 ounces of spiked Arnold palmer!

Awesome restaurant on the water. The smokers rolling on the dock smell amazing. The wings and burger were awesome. The fish tacos and chicken twnders were good ,and the ribs were ok.

My husband's favorite thing to order from this place is the smoked wings. And I like the bad breath bubba which is a blue cheese GARLIC Burger it's the freaking bomb. It's right on the water you can actually bring your boat right up to the dock tie it up and go in and grab yourself a drink and something to eat. Ahh the sweet smell of the smoker going it's always something to remember for a great restaurant. Prices are great and staff is friendly.

Stopped here with my work crew for lunch on Friday. Hailey was super quick and friendly despite my cohorts lack of communication. Amazing customer service despite the odds not being in her favor and I'll be back to experience this establishment on a better day hopefully for all. Thanks again Hailey for being amazing. Sorry....

My daughter suggested this place for mother's day and it was my first time. I really enjoyed it and the food was great.

Great food and generous portions. The only downside is that it is very noisy in there, making conversation difficult.

I've been here for breakfast & lunch, both great. Their blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich was really good. Also, check out their bloody Mary's.

I like this place. Reason for low rating is they tack-on 3% for credit card use. I'm just tired of being surprised by hidden fees and surcharges. It's a cost of doing business - if they don't like it, take it up with Visa, not me.

I made this my new favorite walk-to spot. It must be amazing if their neighbors hate them and tow your cars, right? The food is amazing, but every time I ordered a specialty drink it didn't have much alcohol. So, today after one sip I took the drink back and asked to make it again ..and he poured a shot in it and charged me $5, and I left no tip. So sad because since I moved here and exercise everyday past there and began going in 5-6 times a week, I'm not going back for a while. But, trust you me - the food is great. Just don't order a $10 alcohol drink, or in my case today, a $15 drink, mostly filled with ice. Go to publix liquor next door and simply get the amazing food from here.

Cute local hang out. Went on Taco Tuesday. I loved the vibe of the tiki hut and low key atmosphere, the food and service were just “eh” for me. Tacos were good size and reasonably priced at $2.50 each. The margarita was as good as the $4.50 special price. It wasn’t a bad experience, but you have to know it’s not there to elevate your dining experience. It’s there to offer an inexpensive and cute place for locals without all the tourist traps of other places. The pulled pork burrito bowl was the best thing we had. Saw fish jump in the canal and you can’t ever go wrong smelling the smoke house working on its next batch of pulled pork. Maybe I would go back for a quick bite if I was in the area, but as a foodie at heart, it was more like eating fast food tacos in a tiki hut. Cute but not my kind of place.

This was a great BBQ Place I found on a Facebook site. Other than the parking, everything I had was great. My smoked wings were delicious and my wife loved her fried green tomato BLT and the local beers I had were great.

This has been my favorite bbq location when we visit. Atmosphere is just plain fun. Food has always been great. Last nights brisket dinner wasn’t. We asked for lean meat and a fried green bean appetizer. The brisket was 60% solid fat. Yuk. What meat we pulled off was tasty but ewww. And she forgot the appetizer. They brought us a couple slices of lean meat when we showed her but it was overcooked and tasted like it had been microwaved. Major disappointment

Hate to hate but the meats didn't cut it. I can see smoking brisket, pork and chicken forever but what I got was not smoked. I had grilled meats with a hint of smoke. I get that it is a busy spot, just be honest. I'll give it another shot next year and hope for the best.

This is my second chance to eat here, atmosphere is delightful. food, spectacular!!!!! if i can recommend one chicken dish for extreme flavor, it the WING THINGS!!!!! any sauce is great, it’s the authentic smoked flavor that really stands out. and the smell of the grill is just adding to the wonderful experience. Thank you from a local gal!!!! i will be visiting so much more often!

I had gotten the platter that gives you all 3 meat combinations. I was a bit let down by the food and service. I think it’s worth a try for others, but I don’t intend on returning. I’m still on the hunt for my favorite BBQ place in Pinellas.

Terrible experience Bat tender was rude when we tried to order drinks at the bar, she told us to “just sit down” and she would get to us. waited 45 Minutes at the table and same bar tender waited on all tables around us that came in after us and neven acknowledged us. Will NEVER go there again.

A great place for lunch with Friends. Not busy at mid day on Saturday. They had a delicious smoked brisket sandwich that really hit the spot!

Good menu and service at a reasonable price. They have a good selection of beer on tap as well.

It is my hope that my review will help others to become educated regarding credit card (cc) surcharging. The Angry Pepper (AP) handled poorly a complaint regarding this. Please see my FULL review on Facebook and in attached pic. AP charges a 3.5% credit card surcharge. A Debit card can never be surcharged. A restaurant can choose to impose a “credit card surcharge” BUT rules/regulations MUST be followed. AP does not do this. VISA and MC require that there MUST be a sign at the point of entry, point of sale (that states they surcharge but NOT Debit cards), separate line item on the receipt, etc. A merchant may not charge more than 3% for any VISA cc surcharge. Under Federal regulations credit card issuers (eg VISA) only impose fees to merchant for Debit card transactions of up to 22 cent plus 0.05 % of the transaction (federal regulation). Credit card companies prohibit merchants from surcharging Debit card transactions. I asked a server to remove this charge. I had an employee come to my table, place his foot on a stool; put his hands on the table and stated “so I heard we’re having an issue.” I shared that a Debit card cannot be surcharged; this employee became belligerent stating “oh yes I can.” He refused to listen to anything when I shared my documentation. He yelled “why do you even come out to a restaurant if this is a problem for you if you are worried about charge.” I shared with him that there was no need to be abrasive about this, and he replied “no I am going to be a (insert expletive) about it this is my restaurant so if you want to get out you think a cop’s gonna care about being nice or not in my establishment?” Imagine how many Debit cards are charged with this fee and the amount of money an establishment receives from consumers by not following federal regulations/ and cc contractual agreements. I understand that the restaurant industry is a difficult industry; including fees that are imposed to run an establishment; no excuse not to follow rules. I shared that I will file a complaint with Mastercard and VISA directly. The employee replied “Mastercard is not the authority. How about y’all never go to an establishment again because people like you are not respected in places like this.” It looks like I have experienced the true “Angry Pepper.” I will also contact FLA AG. AP is sneaky regarding how they impose credit card surcharges. Be aware AP will bring a bill that has a pay with cash price on it and then if you use a credit/ Debit card a bill will come out higher. Credit card companies do not allow this either. Menu prices MUST BE credit card pricing. If the establishment wishes to offer a “compliant cash discount” then the establishment adjusts this off of the original menu pricing when the bill is paid with cash; can’t do both a surcharge and a cash discount. Establishments can avoid all of this by raising their menu prices by eg: 3.5 percent and offering a 3.5 percent CASH discount if the customer pays in cash. A customer is going to react much more negatively when they see a fee is added to a bill for using a credit card vs a nominal price increase. Many customers react and subtract the credit card fee from the server’s tip; which isn’t fair to the server. The server has no control over this. I encourage people to consider not shorting the amount of the tip; instead contact the credit card companies and/or use a Debit card. I am attaching photos; one is an email I received directly from my contact at Visa Rules and Regulations which states that they cannot surcharge Debit cards and they cannot surcharge more than 3 percent for VISA, etc. I am also attaching Mastercard’s rule, what is on the Florida Attorney General’s website, a picture of an establishment’s signage at their point of sale which shows appropriate signage, Water Oak menu , and my receipts from AP. I am fortunate that other establishments have been more receptive to this issue when brought to their attention; they just were not aware. Other places, such as the AP choose to put in place unfair/deceptive practices.

As my family and I were walking home from a night out in the lovely St Pete’s area we ran into quite a trouble with an employee that embodied the “angry” in angry pepper. Whilst crossing the road we happened to run into a delivery vehicle whose driver nearly ran us over then proceeded to shout at me and my parents. The issue is, he was not “in the right” in this scenario. See I had pressed the cross walk button and the lights were flashing yellow indicating that A. I pressed the button, and B. We were crossing. But clearly this man did not C that we were crossing (see what I did there?). I myself have not eaten at the angry pepper and I don’t mean to harp on the establishment as I’m sure they serve excellent food. However this old man who looked like the guy from Pixar’s “Up” clearly is not upholding the company values. Unless maybe those values are to be as angry as that angry pepper on the side of his van appeared to be. Anyways, I end this review by requesting you get old man Jenkins out the road and into the kitchen or somewhere he can be more competent. Thank you and have a nice night!

I can’t speak for the food, but we accidentally found ourselves here when we were suppose to be at the taphouse. It was a nice mistake though. We each had a drink before heading to our planned destination. If we didn’t have plans we probably would have stayed. It was a really nice atmosphere and the bartenders were attentive. We’d go back.

Stopped by for lunch with my family. I ordered the combo meal with the 3 meats. The service was little slow but they were busy and it looked like only 2 people for the whole place, but here is where I am mad, and actually flabbergasted. I work in a restaurant and so does my husband, my chicken for the combo was bad. It smelled, tasted horrible, and was gray when I uncovered it from the coleslaw. I let the server know, she didn’t take anything of the check, whatever. But the manager came by and asked how everything was and I told him and he was like “oh, that was yours, well I tasted it and was just fine. Then just walked away, When I tell you it was bad it smelled like roadkill had been chilling on the side of the road for a month. I have never and would never working in the restaurant industry dismiss someone over rotten meat! That is a dangerous issue, it’s not a preference. If I was looking for somewhere to eat and chose here I would not get the chicken that comes in the combo!

The Chicken sandwich was awesome the skinny bartender needs to learn some respect for people that are Cancer patients and smile or just get from behind the bar period . The men's room needs a bath of bleach water there's a floor drain soak that piss bucket down , because ya never know when someone like me is gonna tell you and 2 million other people that read my posts . Other than that me and my cousin that's had a total Laryngectomy and has to write down on a tablet to be heard and the skinny girl totally ignored her and walked away as we waited 10 minutes for another bartender and a beer . Honestly the only good experience was the chicken sandwich, beer and each other . Bartenders hung out with locals and left the rest of the patrons waiting on there time and service just saying Peppers was just not up to par....

Winter walk in, no waterside dining, looks like a local hangout. Sat at the bar, had the beer special, pulled chipotle chicken, waffle sweet potato fries, veggies-food came out in 5 mins. Chicken wasn’t too flavorful, the Angry BBQ sauce was very spicy. Excellent service. Multiple seating areas, no outside seating currently, view of canal from back room seating. Accessible ramp may be around the far side, accessible restroom.

On a previous visit, we had the barbecue and beers and it was great. This visit, we decided to go with the smoked fish dip and fried shrimp basket and margaritas. Worst margarita I have ever had in my life. I felt bad about saying anything so I took it with me and poured it out. The shrimp and fries could have been better if they didn’t have a really bad aftertaste. I think maybe they were using bad oil to cook with. I definitely will not be returning. There are so many other places to choose from that are at the same price point, but with better food and drinks.

I enjoyed an incredibly huge and aptly named "big A** burrito" with pulled pork. It is a two meal sized portion. Be prepared to take some home.
