Service was bad and the drink was bad. Waited for the server to finish her conversation with the man next to me and put her phone down so she could take my order. She was telling the man she was working off two hours of sleep but it was rude how long she made me and two other customers wait.

Johnny is the Man! I would hire him at my bar in a heartbeat!

Everything here is top tier. They just replaced everything on the pool table so it's in great repair. The staff is super friendly. They really know their customers. The place is spotless to the point that they even have a place to rince the sand off from your day at the beach. Parking is free. The teas are strong and good sized and a great price for the size. The service is top notch. Nothing negative to say. Good selection of board games and video games and heaters in the winter. Hit it late night for a quieter time. Remember to tip your bar tenders. They deserve.

I go here specifically to see Tim, because he is an amazing human who really knows how to shove mud down my throat (kinky but I love it!). Couldn’t ask for a better bartender!

I love Tim so much! If I were a woman I’d tell him to make a baby inside me. Unfortunately I am not, so instead I just exchange monies for beverages. Thanks so much for the good time tonight (at the bar, get your mind out of the gutter!)

I am a avid Kava and Kratom drinker and enjoyed the Kratom there. Kava tender was very friendly, the only downside was they only had micronised Kava, I could not tell the difference between house and premium 🤔. It is a must try when your in the area.

Owner of this establishment please make sure your employees tip their delivery drivers that bring you your product. Looks like a wonderful place though.

I’ve been coming to bulas for years now and it’s great place to hang out, I’ve brought many friends and family members here and they all love it. Although as of late the pricing has been very inconsistent. I always get a double tea, sometimes it’s $11, sometimes it’s 13.50, and other times it’s 9.50… why the inconsistency? It’s always different depending on the kavatender.

Awesome Atmosphere! Kava is good and muddy! I prefer my kratom however filtered on a draft system; the ladled kratom is very dirty and I got really sick off only 1 glass. I drink a lot of kratom on the regular and was honestly disappointed with the quality of the kratom. Especially with how popular Bula is. If you’re looking for an awesome spot across the street from the beach. This is the place for kava and awesome community and atmosphere.

Rude bartender guy with long hair was trying to accuse us of having a fake ID. We might as well have called the cops so they could verify it cause it was such a strange weird experience. Been customers for years, never again. Avoid this place if you want a friendly normal experience in spending your money.

Walked in and it reeked of cigarette smoke. Walked right out.

Wow what a great beach bar to sit and relax in after being out in the sunshine! They have great Kava and all kinds of other drinks. This is the classic beach bar, feeling really comfortable with cool decor and a great pool table and wonderful friendly people!

Manager on on Wednesday night not very customer friendly. Long time customer and was questioned negatively on price of buying Kratom in quantity.

I came into Bula on a coffee mission - one of our group needed a coffee after a long night - I walked here when a nearby restaurant didn’t have coffee. I was able to order a large iced Carmel Macchiato in ease and breeze. Effortless really. I delivered the coffee to my friend. She said it was life changing, mood lifting spirits risen. Perfect. Delicious. Coffee.

I loved the atmosphere. I tried Kava for the first time and she took the time to explain the origin. On my vacation, I went here about 5/6 times. The chai tea was amazing!! The best I've ever had. I will miss this place in Minnesota.

Kind of felt like an outcast when doing in for some kratom tea. Just didn't feel welcome from the moment I walked in. Even the person behind the counter seemed like they were trying to rush me away. I'm sure if you're a regular, your probably treated better.

my boyfriend and i would go here relatively often. probably about 5 times a month. for my first kratom the last time i went i paid $13. my boyfriend got there about an hour before me and paid $11. we get the same thing every single time we go there. then, we returned to bula together and got the same drink about an hour and a half later and our kratoms were $15 this time. we got the same drink each time. different price, every time. we brought this up to the employees and we were informed there’s “different prices for the strain of kratom” which i personally think is ridiculous because we’ve gotten the same drink there and almost every. single. time. the price has been different. before, at night we’d often pay $7-$9 per kratom we got. the price changes every single time. changing the price 3 times within a couple hours is ridiculous. this interaction totally turned us away from returning ever again. not cool at all

DO NOT RECOMMEND Very clicky, cult like for sure. If they don’t like you for any unfound reason they kick you out. Per my experience As a disabled veteran and a local/regular at this establishment and one of the owners (Ross) called the cops and had me arrested which chargers were dropped however I feel discrimination charges need to be filed on them. Cilvil Rights Issue Small business administration (SBA) as well as Better Business bureau (BBB) has laws in place just for this kind of unprofessional behavior. This isn’t a “private” establishment it’s a public establishment privately owned by a team of Narcissists . If you want to be “privately owned and operated you need to create and post your bylaws. Court will let me know WHY I am no longer welcome after years of supporting this place not that I actually ever want to spend my money there ever again.

You own an INTERNATIONAL TRADEMARK not just the US. Don't lie! Try and Trademark the word Hola and see what happens. Release the trademark and end neocolonialism!

August 18th, 2017 - Ross Kashtan went to WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) and registered INTERNATIONAL ownership of the word "BULA" for "Bar services featuring wine, beer, sake, juice, KAVA; Cafés; Coffee and juice bar services" Bula is a Fijian word that has many meanings and many uses. It's primarily used as a greeting. Kava is grown in Fiji, and is considered sacred to them. The word "Bula" is tied to the use of kava. Ross Kashtan (who has never been to Fiji) owns the word Bula internationally, and no other business can use it to sell Kava - Fijians included. The Fijian people have made petitions to Ross Kashtan, asking him to release his control over the word. The Fijian government has tried to get the word legally transferred back to Fijian ownership. 5 years later, and Ross Kashtan still holds the copyrights to the word BULA. This is a clear case of NeoColonialism at work. Please help spread awareness of the issue, and help Fiji get their language back!

Because the owners, this place deserves zero stars. I started drinking kava in Hawaii years ago, and it was all peace and love. At this place, the Kavatender was just plain rude and then the owners are even more rude… One day I hope you embody what it means to drink kava to create a community and bring people together. This place has turned into such a gem on the beach. The past year bula has invested in an open free pool table, PS4 and games on the inside, a Nintendo switch attached to the main bar tv outside for smash tournaments on Tuesday nights. New couches, new chairs, new fans, a great ping pong table!!!!! It's such a great place to catch some FUN. I always have a good time. Love the vibes and the tribe. Bula is beyond super warm and welcoming. Ashley,Tim and Michael really keep the place together.

This place strongly needs to work on their customer service. How rude of a bartender can you find? Try this place. Some young kid probably his first gig. I literally left my drink and walked right out the door.

Great staff, beautiful atmosphere, great variety of drinks and cool games to play. The best part is going to see the sunset or a nice nightly stroll on the beach. Highly recommended.

Great location near lots of shops, hotels/resorts, and beach. Lots of variety in product available and beautiful outdoor setting to enjoy some coffee and kava. First time trying out kava as it was recommend. The employees were very nice and helpful and attentive. Definitely had a comfortable and relaxing vibe and good place to enjoy a good whine down from a long day at the beach.

If you want to try different things then this is the place to go. Non alcoholic kava and kratom drinks are a nice change of pace and you will meet some of the most interesting people here. Come visit and don't let others tell you about it but experience it yourself.

Cool staff. Super chill relaxing place to sip a nice coffee or kumbucha. Beautiful patio. Chill music. Down to earth scene with people who really care about the planet. They use the good compostable straws that don't fall apart like the paper ones.

Good coffee at excellent prices. Indoor and outdoor seating make this place a nice break from the beach. Kava was just as potent as if you were sitting in a village in Fiji. Would be 5 stars, but always confused where to order - whether indoors or outdoors. Nice staff.

Fun and eclectic little place, we stopped in and got a quick drink. It was a little crowded and there was not a lot of mask wearing, so it might be worth skipping if you value your health during a global pandemic.

This is my first time visiting here, and I have been to a few other kava bars in the area. The setting is great and the drinks are very good, but my biggest issue with this bar is that there are tons of children running around, skateboarding, etc. Most kava bars keep an 18+ policy. This one does not seem to enforce it and seems more like a daycare.

Love the vibe here and the kava is soooo good the premium 2oz with almond milk and cinnamon THE BEST
