Had a terrible experience here yesterday, 8/31/2024… my boyfriend was so excited to take me here, we drove two hours to get there. Subpar food, chaotic environment and bad service was the result. We got there at 2, placed our order and had to tip before we got served which is always a toss-up. We went to the bar to get our drinks and had to tell the bartender what we ordered even though there was a computer that should have told them. We got a buzzer to let us know when our food was ready, but after forty minutes and others getting their food before us who had gotten there after us, we went up to ask if there was something wrong. “Your order is coming out next” but after five more people getting their order next, that clearly wasn’t the case. After an hour we finally got our food (our buzzer never vibrated, they just called out the name and placed the food on the counter.) I believe they gave out someone else our food but never admitted to that, if they had just admitted to making a mistake we would not have been as disappointed as we are with this establishment. There was no explanation or apology to our extremely long wait. We saw a man get there and get his food within ten minutes. “It depends what you get” was what we were told. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich which tasted like it was freezer burnt and just plopped on the sandwich with bbq sauce sprayed on, and my boyfriend got a cold sandwich, so I’m not sure what could have taken a whole hour. The atmosphere was chaotic, kids approaching my dogs without their parents, swinging on the swings without supervision and falling off (there’s a sign that says if you die it’s not their fault so keep that in mind!) and multiple unleashed dogs wandering around also approaching everyone trying to eat. There was no live music on the stage on Labor Day weekend but there was a DJ blasting terrible sounding EDM music from a nearby field which was loud, awful and off putting . And I love EDM. If they had admitted to giving our food to someone else and maybe comping something, we would have been happier but there was no explanation or apology whatsoever. We were going to buy a six pack of their seltzer but didn’t want to give them any more money so we just left. After, we went to Qutori Winery up the road which was much better service, food and a lovely atmosphere and somewhere I would have much rather gone and spent money had I known what a crapshow this place was. Truly a chaotic mess, bad food, and a racket that you have to tip before you even know how the service will be. Go elsewhere.

Cool spot, we came along for the Shakey gig. Couple confusions re. camping (just a comms misunderstanding) but resolved quickly by friendly host. Gig was great, however massive lines for drinks due the token system, and nothing but cider on offer - I understand it’s a cidery but for an event like that, maybe a couple of local beers or similar as another option might be cool (for uncultured folk like me). Overall a good time, thanks for a neat experience!

A very relaxing place. The food was very good. There is water to fill your RV and about a dozen spaces with electric. There is no dump station but a campground about 5 miles away lets you dump for a fee. Friday and Saturday nights in summer have music. There is a pick your own orchard or if you are like me a pick your own store! Everything fresh and delicious.

This is truly a must-see Colorado stop near Paonia. It’s a unique and inviting place that has a restaurant, shop, and orchard. The food was delicious! I ordered the burrito bowl, which had great flavor combinations and a fulfilling portion size. Not the person to usually rate a restaurant, but I thought I would share the food was amazing! The atmosphere was very chill and welcoming. Only issue was the young girl taking our order. She was very unkind and unwelcoming. It was very unnerving the way she was treating my group. We asked what kinds of alcohol they had and she told us flatly they do not have alcohol. Only cider…..( they do serve hard cider and that has alcohol in it. She just didn’t want to help us. When asked if they have any other drinks she was very short did not want to help us. We even asked if she was having a bad day and she replied flatly no. She rolled her eyes when we asked for a recipe.she was moving her hands iratically like we were annoying her or other things. We noticed the manager and she was very kind and helped us resolve the issue. If it wasn’t for the manager I would say not to go here because of the interaction with the worker but the manager was so kind to us. She was great and handled the situation professionally. And because of her i would go back!

One star knocked down because camping is wayyyy too expensive for what you get. Our site was nothing but a glorified mud pit in an open field. Been to Big B’s several times, vibe is great. Definitely a family-oriented spot where kids are running around feral. If you hate kids or think kids should be leashed and under 100% adult supervision, you’ll hate this place. If kids don’t bother you or you want yours to explore the world without you hovering over them every second, this is a great spot!

Kids swing for hours under the supportive cottonwood trees, friendly dogs play in the fields, happy families pick fruit and camp in the gorgeous orchard, and folks dance and sway to the fun music. They've even added a SUP pond. I tell everyone I know that they should find a band they'd like to see and head over for a Friday night of free music. The food is delicious. My meat-eating husband loves all of their options, and I find great gluten-free vegetarian choices that I crave. They also give back to locsl non-profits. This is how a community thrives. What an incredible experience!! While planning my summer motorcycle tour I looked for places to stay near Paonia, CO. I know of the small town because I've visited before to check out a specific brewery there... and wanted a repeat visit. I stumbled onto Big B's just by searching for campsites on google maps and boy am I glad I did. First of all where else could you camp right in the middle of a fruit orchard? It's so cool!! I pretty much thought that this was a novelty thing but oh how wrong was I. As soon as I got in and set up camp I headed to the cafe for some cider and dinner. The band had just finished setting up and is playing their first set. I spent the rest of the night just hanging out there, listening to the band and soaking up all of the CO summer vibes. It was a magical night. Anyway I'm coming back this summer in August :D

I now, more than ever before, love ciders. Big B's was easy to access, had lots of parking, was clearly signed, and had both indoor and outdoor seating options. The service was approachable, knowledgeable, and very timely and efficient. The selection of food was healthful, flavorful, and diverse enough to cater to a large swath of palates. The ambience was great. Industrial, cozy, clean, and provided for a diversity of group sizes. The ciders were a hit. I will not say what I tasted, but I will say they were probably some of the best I have had. I only wish I had more time to taste more of the options. I also wish I had tried some of the ice-cream. This is a Colorado hidden gem. This was our second time camping at Big B's, check it out next time you are looking for a camping spot - amazing views, fun atmosphere, live music, locally sourced foods and produce, delicious cider, and dog friendly. The staff are so friendly and they make sure guests have a great experience.

What a hidden gem! We discovered the place while looking on an app for a campground. They allow you to dry camp either in the orchards or by the ponds depending on your rig size. The ciders are delicious, especially the Cherry Daze cider. The food is organic and fresh and so good. We stayed for 3 nights and ate each day at the restaurant. They have cool merchandise and interesting finds at their little store. We got farm fresh eggs, mini cheesecakes, and ginger apple juice. Live bands played on Fri and Sat and the place was packed. The vibe is absolutely perfect here!! The tree swings are indeed epic and so fun for kids and adults. We can't wait to go back again! We would've stayed longer if they'd had a hookup campsite. We met awesome folks all weekend at the campground and at the restaurant. Go, you won't regret it!
