Mango Margaritas, BLT and brisket burger 😋

This place is off the charts. Owner Kim is always here so personable with all the customers. Food is Fantastic and service great. Ask for Abby her personality if unbelievable. The atmosphere is wonderful, super clean. Can’t say enough about how Great this place is.

This place is amazing. If you are into unique twists on food this is the place for you. Cafe 257 is about 2 hrs from our house, but we WILL be back. You are definitely missing out of you don't try it. The staff and the owner are amazing. A must try!!!!!!

The website said they were open but they were not. We have been there 4 times and only one of the four times were they open. The interior decor is nice and the food was good the one time we ate there. However we won’t go back again because of the lack of dependability.

This is a must stop if you are traveling to or from the lake. Everything is great and the staff is amazing.

We enjoyed a great meal with family while on vacation at Lake Sam Rayburn. Everything was awesome, we definitely recommend if you're in the area!

My husband and I are huge foodies and love exploring hidden gems. I must say Cafe 257 is truly a gem. It was so hard to decide what to try because everything sounded delicious. We ended up ordering phat fries, chicken alfredo flatbread, bang bang shrimp tacos, and the yeehaw burger. I can't emphasize enough the eruption of flavors in every dish. Every part of our experience had a sense of personal pride and care put into it. Service was phenomenal. The owner chatted with us for a while and you could just hear the passion in her voice. Hands down best food we've had in a LONG time. We will gladly make the 2.5hr drive again in the future to eat here!

Had the muffaletta sandwich. Excellent! Homemade chips were large and tasty.

I honestly cannot rave about this place enough. Me and my party all got different dishes and couldn’t stop talking about how great they were. Everything is fresh and home made, and it shows! The service was wonderful and the food was even better. Will definitely be coming back and trying more things!

We just happened upon this gem while traveling and it was a wonderful experience! The made from scratch food was delicious and the service was excellent! Such friendly folks. We will definitely be making a trip back soon.

Cafe 257 had a clean and inviting atmosphere, and the service was friendly and attentive. The majority of the food we ordered was delicious [positive aspects]. However, the French fries were unfortunately quite soggy and disappointing. When we mentioned this to our server, her response was that this was how they are normally served. Overall, Cafe 257 seems like a solid option for a casual meal in Jasper, with some caveats about the fries. If you're looking for crispy fries, you might want to consider asking for a different side or skipping them altogether.

Went a couple of times for work and a friend's 70th. Both times the atmosphere was as good as the food and service. I wish this bunch many years of serving Jasper .

Short version: one of the best restaurants I've been to in my life and I've travelled the world and lived in big cities and towns so small they dont have a stoplights. I'm from Houston. We spent the last week in Woodville. Cafe 257 is the best dining experience I've had in years and well worth the drive to Jasper. The food was fantastic and the wait and kitchen staff were among the best I've dealt with. I'd be shocked if there was a better restaurant within two hours drive in any direction and I'm struggling to think of a better one in Houston, Dallas, Lufkin, or Lake Charles. My wife has some food allergies. I called in advance and the chef and server worked together to put together a menu specific for my wife. We ordered a handful of entrees and appetizers and all shared. There is not a single thing that we had that I would not recommend. Even something as simple as the fries blew other fries our the water. You can tell that the ingredients are all fresh and the food is made in house. I usually feel bloated and greasy after eating fried foods but after eating my fill of their Phrizzle fries, I just wanted more. My wife had plain fries. No seasoning other than salt and even those ones tasted better than other fries. I've seen some reviews complaining about the price. Those people apparently think that no burger or pizza should cost more than what you would get a McDonalds or Little Caesars. At Cafe 257 those will run you a couple dollars more but they'll be made in house and you can taste the difference. We have a toddler and an infant. They had high -chairs and booster seats available and they were clean and well-cared for. The kid's menu has the staples, i.e. burger, pizza, nuggets. But they're actually just smaller versions of the main menu items. Not something prepackaged and tossed in a microwave.

I haven't had such a pleasant dining experience in more than a decade. The staff was so wonderful and worked with me around my absurd food intolerance. The food is so fresh, even after eating burgers and fried things we didn't feel bloated and disgusting afterwards. Everything we tried was delicious (and my husband was able to try a lot more). The kids were treated well and ate well. The prices were great, considering you are getting a home cooked fresh meal from a chef! We will be back every vacation and will encourage others to try Cafe 257 as well. Highly recommend.

Awesome experience with great food and friendly staff

Came to jasper to pickup grandkids, and was looking for a good place to eat. We googled and cafe 257 popped up. I have to brag on them. The Brushhog burgers was one of the best burgers i have ever eaten!! I highly recommend them to all!

Really great food. Friendly service. It was a great choice for dinner. You can tell its homemade and delicious.

The pizzas are good but the burgers were way overcooked. They also charge you more then what is listed on the menu. Service could also use some improvement.

This is a great place with great food. We came to Jasper specifically to try this place out based on seeing it on Facebook. We were not disappointed. The service was exceptional. Our waitress and the others that tended to us were friendly and personable from beginning to end. The food (with everything from appetizers, burgers, boiled shrimp ordered by our large group) was amazing and seasoned to perfection. One of the owners, after hearing that we had driven in to try them out came by the table to meet us and make sure we were pleased with everything. We'll be making sure this isn't our last visit.

Everything was great! Table of 8 and everyone loved their meals even the kid’s. Service was awesome. Not a single complaint and will for sure be back. It was worth the hour drive!

First night here to camp for a week and went into the restaurant for dinner. Everything was great, service, food, and atmosphere. We will be back this week for more. Great job, by all.

If you don't go here and eat don't blame me. This is a jewel in an unexpected place. The Reuben will knock your socks off. My wife had the YeeHaw and said it was excellent. This is a must do when in the area. If what we had is any indication of the rest of the menu items you can't go wrong. By the way the staff and the owner are exceptional.

Kim and her crew are spectacular! Kaylee was our waitress and did an outstanding job! The entire staff was very friendly. The food was great and the atmosphere was very comfortable and inviting. Can't wait to go back!

Jasper's little hidden gem!!! Cafe 257 never disappoints!!! The food is delicious and the staff treats you like family. Phat Phries, Taff Pizza, the hangover burger, fried green tomatoes, and two pigs and a pickle are all must tries!!!!

My husband and I came a few nights ago and we were very pleased. The food was amazing. Fresh and in a timely manner. Our server was precious and on point. The whole experience was! We will def be frequent customers. The only disappointment was the fact we waited so long to try them out. Don’t sleep on Mrs Kim and her staff.

We attended a Christmas party at Cafe 257. This place is beautiful, the service from staff was exceptional in every way and the food was absolutely delicious! The owner Kim was on site and checked on us to make sure we were all well taken care of. Love this place and highly recommend!

The Phat Fries are amazing. I enjoyed a large (12') chicken fried steak, and my wife had a burger. They we both great, and the service was on par. The view from the dining room is precious Piney Woods at its finest, with a driving range.

Atmosphere was very nice, relaxing. We went back for another trysince the food was not good the 1st time! Rueben sandwich was terrible. We wanted wings but they were out. Very plain food, no flavor and cold.

I love how friendly the ladies are at Cafe 257 and I love that they let us hold our Chalking Workshop there every month!🥰 Great foods, great service, and great place for crafting get togethers.

Today the service was excellent, the pizza was perfect and the food came out pretty quick!

The waitress was very cold, but she was not inherently rude. The burger was ok and there’s not much to say after that. Just a very mid restaurant that I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat at. Also, that is not peach cobbler. It doesn’t meet the basic definition of cobbler as there is no fruit filling. Throwing sliced peaches into a cake does not constitute cobbler.

First time trying this place. I ordered to go and didn't have to wait long. Ordered a $18.99 barbecue, brisket burger, onion rings, and chips,queso, salsa. So disappointed with the burger. The patty was burned an old. Maybe worth $8.99. The best part were the onion rings. They were delicious. Really was hoping this place would be amazing.

Good food very clean and great service.

We’ve been several times for various events but this last time surpassed all previous. I finally tried their pizza and it was sooooo good. Husband rave about the buffalo chicken salad. Truly the best pizza in town!! Our waitress was on point!! Thanks for a great dining experience. ❤️

It was good food relaxing place will return.

Have dined in twice. Enjoyed flat bread pizzas - especially the blueberry, goat cheese, and ham pizza. Burgers are tasty and meaty. Live music is a tad loud on Saturday nights. Good service, clean, and nice variety of salads, burgers, sandwiches, or pizzas on the menu. Onion rings are hand battered upon order and DELICIOUS!!

First let me say thank you to Ms Dee for the drinks they where the best, food was garbage cold no Flavor I order garlic Parmesan It did not taste like either one the onions were OK my fiancee order brisket tacos that work just a plum mess... If you are looking for a different place for food this is not the place to go it is c***** food the service was OK but the time to get your food was very very long We waited 35 to 45 minutes for our food only to get a togo box to take home cause it was cold

My Banker told me where this cafe was. Went there to check it out. Greeted by a very friendly and enthusiastic young woman. Don't remember what I had the first time, but on the second trip the lovely young woman who attended me the first trip , remembered what I drank, where I sat and ushered me to a window table. I Took a friend on a later trip , the owner came over and talked with us after asking if we were pleased with the meal and service. Such a rarity in today's world. The experience made me feel welcome, like family, I only had a Ruben sandwich and a couple of draft beers. The next time I had the Saturday Ribeye and Baked potato. If something had not been excellent there is no doubt in my mind that it would have been corrected immediately. You want to feel at home??? You want to be around attractive and friendly people?? Give this cafe a visit, you will be glad you did.

My husband took our grandson, Eedan, to the dentist in Jasper. They stopped at Cafe 257 for lunch. They brought me a BLT home. It was the best BLT I have eaten in years. The cowboy bacon was to die for! The sandwich survived the trip home to Denning, in remarkably good condition. It was yummy! The side of chips and salsa was wonderful. The fresh, zippy salsa is worthy of a nice Mexican restaurant! Recommended!

I have never had a disappointing meal at 257. On the contrary, I think their food continues to get better. Last night (Valentine's) my wife and enjoyed the shrimp tacos and they were excellent. Taking home a slice of cheesecake to share, we enjoyed the unusual texture and rich taste. Nice-looking inside and out. Super friendly staff. Interesting takes on their dishes. What's not to like?

We were a group of 6 first-time diners and we all were very pleased with the food, the service (especially our waitress), and the atmosphere. We each said we would be back and are looking forward to it.

Oh yes. Cafe 257. A great experience. Cafe 257's staff is great. A shout out to Piper and Brandon!!!😃 I am vegan. Which in the area I live, is very rare and even Taboo. Many places I dine in Jasper are not friendly to my healthy eating.😓 At Cafe 257, Kim went totally out of her way to accommodate my eating lifestyle. 😎 She first asked me what kind of foods i like to eat (Wow! Someone who actually cared!!!). Next, Kim went into the kitchen and totally modified a pizza for me to eat. Full of veggies!!! It was marvelous!!! Since then, I have visited this place many times. Every time I go in, Kim greets me. She then asks me what I would like to eat. She instantly goes back into kitchen to start my meal. Wow. Talk about great customer service! Now enough about myself. I usually go to Cafe 257 with many people and sit at a big table. I get to see the great selection of foods they serve. All of the people I sit with are very satisfied with the food and the service!!!! Now to the drinks: Cafe 257 has a bar with a list of pretty good tasting house drinks. They also have a decent selection of beers and wines. Oh, and let's not forget the live music some days. Cafe 257 picks local music for it's entertainment. I have seen a few entertainers there and they are great musicians that provide great ambiance!!! I'm happy to have Cafe 257 in the town I live and I will continue to visit this place.😉
