My second time coming to Canton and once again phenomenal food and service! Their food has always been fresh and hot it’s absolutely yum! Love this restaurant

General Tso's Chicken and Subgum Roast Pork combos were absolutely fresh and delicious! This was my first time ordering from them, will definitely be back!

Delicious food, amazing service and the sweetest family who owns this establishment are always so welcoming!

Love the food and the amazing service. The older gentleman that owns the place runs a tight ship. He’s always courteous and delivers good value for the money. Plus, they are one of the few Chinese restaurants in town that offers a poo poo platter. If you’re looking for a charming environment to eat in, this is not the place. This is more for people that are looking for quality Chinese food that’s either takeout or delivery.

So disappointing! Have taken out from here a few times and liked the food. Not tonight! I ordered chicken with eggplant, which is what I always order from there. Well I got chicken with vegetables in garlic sauce. I called and the owner told me I got what I ordered! I did not! No apologies. He said he would have told me that if I said eggplant he would have told me no. That's a lie. Also higher prices and less food. And there was a terrible odor to all the food. I think it was bad oil, but not sure. Everything had that smell. So, we will be ordering from China Taste, our usual spot. Food is good, they did up their pricing, but did NOT cut back on the amount.

Hot and Sour soup was very good, but the rest was mediocre. We had the Sesame chicken and General TSO's chicken. Both had way too much breading and had little flavor, and both just about tasted the same. Was there any sesame oil in the sesame chicken. I'm not recommending either meal.

Since Covid the quality of eating out has diminished. You pay more for less food. The rice was previously cooked and a few days old so it was hard. There wasn’t much chicken in my meal and no fortune cookie. Not a good investment I’ll keep cooking my own food.

Web site says dine-in. It's really a take out or delivery. There were 2 tables to sit. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Mom's sweet and sour pork was "chewy". Crab rangoon was good. Lemon chicken was good. Both Mom and Dad agree the shrimp lo mein did not have a lot of flavor. Over all worth another try, but probably delivery.

This is hands down the most delicious Chinese cuisine food we have tasted since relocating from the West Coast to Venice Everything we have ordered is absolutely scrumptious and the owner as well as the other staff are so very professional, helpful and very friendly My family and I order from here several times a month so if you’re looking for an authentic Chinese meal in Venice, Florida, this is the place to eat at!!

Lunch special has gone up 32% from last year, portion is smaller and the beef is tough. I'll cook my own beef from now on, can't get worse than that.

This is the best Chinese food in the area. We always get very flavorful food. Service is very fast. We order online and get it within 15-20 minutes. Never had a bad dish!

Staff is always so friendly on the phone and in person. Food is always ready to pick up or deliver within 30min. Great selection of food, it's the only Chinese place that we will eat around here!

I had general tso's chicken with an egg roll. The egg roll was delicious, and the rice tasted good. The chicken tasted like it had been fried in dirty oil. I went to bed after eating my dinner from here and woke up sick from it at 2am. Would not eat here again.

The food didn’t have much flavor. Not the style rice I prefer. I have no idea what the meat mixture was in the steam dumplings but not a pleasant flavor. I didn’t finish my meal.

Just picked up fried dumplings, sorry to say could not even eat them. They were burned on sides and raw on other sides. The meat was some sort of mystery chump, and the sauce was water flavorless yuk. Never again. Went into the trash, waste of 10 bucks ( i tipped).

I have eaten here 6 times and I am VERY pleased with it. My new favorite here (and I recommend it) is the House special fried rice with shrimp, chicken, pork and more. Ate my fill and still had a generous amount to take back home and eat later. Modest prices make this place a Gem. VERY conveniently located less than a block off 41 North and across the street from "Checkers." Right next door to a convenience store (where you can pick up a nice cold beer to have with your meal if you wish). Excellent service. This is a take out ONLY but this restaurant goes out of it's way to please. And right around Shamrock Blvd (only a few feet away) you have the Aldi shopping center with plenty of fine stores so you can strategically plan a few convenient stops. Well worth checking out.

Food was absolutely terrible. I ordered general tso chicken. I don’t believe there was any meat in the fried clumps of breading. The chicken that I did find was a grey weird color. Egg roll was similar to the cheap dollar store brand and over cooked. Rice was old and had a funny texture. I only took 1 bite of each portion. On the upside, the food was extremely hot.

I moved to Venice 5 months ago and have tried multiple Chinese take out places and this place is the best by far!!! They follow my special instructions and their food tastes authentic!! Their Cantonese style cooking is what makes it authentic! I have ordered from here 4 times in the past month and it will be a weekly order for me!!!! Love it!!!

This place was our go too for years. Last two take outs have been horrible. All I can think is they have changed hands. Def not going back

Not sure if should say as know only make a certain amount for day and sometimes order close to closing ( hot and sour soup best I have tasted in Florida yet. ) idk I picked up myself seems a lot of bad reviews are from delivery ( I just ordered hot and sour soup and rice was best yet from Florida I am from CT idk had reservations based on some reviews then realized most were delivery )

Rude. None apologetic if you ever order through their online platform and the system rejects your card. They will not make your food until you arrive and don’t bother to call you to inform the card did not process. I was more interested in getting into an argument about it saying “he’s not in the business to make free food” like seriously ? If someone calls or clicks “pay at restaurant” they would still make the food and if that person showed up and coudnt pay what are they going to do ? Irrelevant arguments. Poor customer service. Will not return

Some good some bad. Sesame beef was good. Cashew chicken was bland (ordered spicy). General tso was like cardboard. Egg rolls were good but very expensive.

Got take out and it was delicious, roast pork egg foo yung and fried rice. Egg drop soup was really good too. My wife is in love with their chicken chop suey.

At least they fry the fried rice.. delish.....no other Chinese place makes fried rice... Other places give you vigo rice!!!.. the wonton soup is delish.. the food here at Canton is definitely worth every penny.. (it's a take out Chinese restaurant so worth the money)*****

Dont let the non-sleek little mall the restaurant is in fool you. The food is on par with very expensive Chinese restaurants. We get the delivery super fast without the hassle and extra hands of the online delivery robots. Price is really good also. Highly recommended!

I ordered a spring roll, always delicious, kung pou chicken, rice on the side, of coarse, and an order of BBQ ribs. It was all good but the ribs were the star! Talk about fall off the bone tender! They were yummy and I will add them to my next order or else just order a double of those!

Pretty flavorless.. Not much meat compared to veggie ratio as well. Does not taste authentic.

Been getting Chinese at Canton for 10 or 15 years - so long I can't remember how long. It's always been consistently good quality Chinese at very reasonable prices. Their sliced pork dishes, egg foo young, won ton soup and moo goo gai pan are all good. Quick and reliable service. In January 2022, there was no eat in, just delivery and pick up.

I think this is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Close to a lot of stores. They have very good food here! The dinner combinations are very big portions. I would definitely go there again sometime soon!

We've tried five Chinese restaurants in Venice and this is the best. Chicken, beef, and seafood dishes are just delicious and noodles and rice are great. Plentiful portions helps. Reminds us of Cninatown in NY! Try their Lemon Chicken for starters and you'll be back for more. Pickup only.

This is our favorite neighborhood place to order Chinese takeout. They are always fast, fresh, delicious and, provide large portions. These leftovers, always get eaten. The combos for lunch and dinner offer a great value.

Sweet and sour chicken was terrible today they didn't put the egg rolls in either I just I don't believe I mean I wasn't even rush hour it was 11: 30 when I went and ordered start going back to Panda Express

We get food from here every 2 weeks highly recommended everything is always great. I always stay away from seafood at Chinese restaurants but all the other dishes are awesome 👌

No complaints here, the food was hot and pretty good. I ordered there and waited not even 10 minutes. The people were pretty nice too. I'll be going back.

Our family got the Honey and Sesame Chicken Dinners. Flavor was spot on. Portions are huge. For first time orders, know the Chef's Special dinners feed 2 easily. We have plenty of leftovers even feeding two teen boys. Rice was perfectly cooked. We will be ordering from them again very soon!

Best Chinese around best bang for your buck

We just moved to South Venice and wanted Chinese delivery. We feel fortunate that our first delivery was from this restaurant. They are efficient, quick to deliver and the food was amazing. Highly recommend trying this delivery restaurant if you like Chinese food. from the best Chinese/Cantonese and was the best we have ever had. Great food, quick

The only thing I can say about the people that gives this place less than 5 Stars is, there is something wrong with them. The delivery is always timely, and the food is the best.

The outside is not appealing so we have not tried it for two years. But finally made the decision to stop in yesterday and it was delicious! We will return!

I would love this place if they would substitute some protein for some of that massive broccoli! The taste was there but the veggies were overwhelming. I wonder what I would get if I stressed “no broccoli”!

Best Chinese in Venice! Their egg rolls are divine and i love their veggie lo-mein. My boyfriend loves their. Poopoo platter(it's a mix of appetizers) sounds funny, but it delicious! You've got to try them 😊

Best Chinese food in Venice! Their fried rice is delicious as well as ALL of their other dishes. Other places in Venice taste like grocery store microwave Chinese food. Canton has it right!

Been driving by this place for probably 20 years but my wife and I were intimidated by the way it appears from the outside, located adjacent to a 7-11. We should have ordered sooner! I got the subgum shrimp dinner which came with a small pkg of fried noodles, egg roll, fried rice, wonton soup and a cookie. There was so much food for $8.50 I had some left for the next night. I'm not a knowledgeable chinese food expert but everything tasted good and was ready 15 minutes after I phoned in the order. We will return and try another menu item.

This is a well placed Chinese mostly carry out restaurant. Portion size in plentiful. They do have call service. Highly recommend call in during the high season. They are quite honest with wait times. Food is usually ready as promised. They do take credit cards.

I've enjoyed this restaurant since the late 90's. My favorite, closest Chinese restaurant. Offer pick-up, and delivery. Food selection is great. Staff are cool people. Love the fried rice, and Kung Pao chicken! Wanton soup is good too. I will return!

One of the best Chinese restaurants around

We like take-out Chinese and this little strip center restaurant is great. The family egg foo young is what we always get and it feeds two of us and often leaves a little for lunch the next day. Delicious. I've had other entrees but none are as good.

We went there after reading a review from someone from China. Having lived there many years as well we relied on the info. It was correct The food was fresh and very good. I prefer spicy and since Cantonese is not they make it to taste.

I'm giving Canton 5 stars....Now call before you go to make sure they are open...They vacation a lot! I go here for one reason only...The best Orange Beef in FL. The crab rangoons are great also...Now this place won't impress you if you're going for atmosphere...It's a simple hole in the wall but the service is extraordinary and the food exceptional.

Night we moved to Venice from Indianapolis we decided to give them a try. I was so amazed at how fast they arrived. The food was fantastic and the portions were MASSIVE! The delivery driver was a younger asian guy who gave my family and myself the whole run down of the town. Since then we have ordered three more times and the food is fantastic each time.
