I had a really good experience here. The food was good, hot and fast. Great place to stop. The prices weren't too bad either.

Fresh Seafood Heaven at Deckhand Dave's in Juneau, AK My dining experience at Deckhand Dave's was absolutely phenomenal! After a long day of exploring Juneau, we were craving fresh seafood, and this place delivered beyond expectations. We started with the fresh oysters, and they were everything you could hope for—plump, briny, and incredibly fresh. Each one was like a perfect bite of the ocean, shucked beautifully and served ice-cold. The halibut cakes were next, and they were out of this world. Crisp on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, with a perfect mix of spices. You could tell the halibut was fresh, and the cakes were cooked to perfection—each bite was packed with flavor. But the highlight for me had to be the halibut tacos. They were incredible—grilled to perfection with tender, flaky fish, fresh toppings, and a delicious sauce that tied everything together. These tacos were hands down some of the best I’ve ever had! Deckhand Dave’s offers more than just amazing seafood—it’s a fun, casual spot with great service and a welcoming vibe. Whether you're a local or just visiting Juneau, this is the spot for unbeatable fresh seafood and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We visited this place while in port. We took a cruise to Alaska.

The fish tacos were delicious, but the dirty fries were a miss. The fries and sauce were great, but there was so little fish that it looked like they put leftover scraps in there. The crepe truck in the courtyard was awesome. The oyster truck looked good, but the prices were a little too steep for me to try.

Was a great place to take a brake and enjoy a refreshing locally brewed beer. They fish and chips is a must and you need to take the variety one, it’s worth it. It’s a bit on the pricey side but was good food.

Amazing Fresh Fish and Unique Outdoor Dining Experience Deckhand Dave's is hands down one of the best spots in Juneau! Don't be fooled by the food truck setup—this place offers so much more. The fish is incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection every time. The service is top-notch; the staff is friendly and fast. What sets this place apart is the elevated outdoor seating—it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a meal surrounded by the beauty of Juneau. I have to mention the *Trash Bear*! At first glance, it sounds like a wild, late-night experiment in food preparation, it’s absolutely delicious. You’ve got to try it at least once, trust me!

Tacos were great as well as the local beer! I would recommend the halibut over the cod.

Best Oysters, fish tacos and drinks!

This is for the Alaskan Oyster Stand. Full disclosure: I only consumed some bubbles. The ambiance, and service is top notch. And a nice selection of bubbles. Hide out under the heated open air stand and enjoy the moody, dramatic scenery. PS Zack provided outstanding service!

Delicious rockfish tacos. Best food we had in Juneau. Service is fast and friendly. Bar makes great drinks. Good place to people watch and feel a little bit out of the chaos of all the crazy cruise crowds.

Love eating here! Only ever had great food. Fish tacos are all great and the fish and chips, equally great! Even the fries had a nice flavor. Not cheap but neat experience and they've upgraded the seating area this past year.

Good tacos and great atmosphere

This was one of the best places I ate while staying in Juneau for a week (I even went twice). I tried all of their fish tacos and they were amazing, with the beer battered halibut being my favorite. The side dishes were amazing as well. What is also very cool about this place is the atmosphere has other food trucks there serving beer, cocktails, oysters, burgers, ice cream and my favorite the crepes. I highly recommend going here if you are visiting Juneau!

These were some very good fish tacos. The service was very quick and efficient. The fish was super fresh, all the flavors were bright and our order was ready in about 10 minutes or so. This is in a collection of other food trucks/stands so there are lots of options and two bar stands for beverages.

Deckhand Dave’s lives up to the hype; these are without a doubt the best fish tacos in SE Alaska. The salmon tots were the perfect consistency and paired well with the homemade tartar sauce. Next time I’ll order either halibut or salmon tacos but the rockfish tacos were very tasty and I liked the spice-level. If there was a statewide fish street taco competition, Deckhand Dave’s and El Green-Go’s (in Anchorage) are the two (2) best food trucks across Alaska. Highly recommend giving this place a chance if you like fish tacos.

The halibut cake was amazing. The three tacos provided nice sampling of three fish. The dirty fries were a great side order. All in all it was a great stop by. Definitely worth going to when in Juneau.

A wonderful spot to sit outside under the cabin roof with outdoor fire tables. Excellent food, the three taco sampler was a great way to try it all. Two bars on site to mix what ever drink or with local drafts. Amazing and fun atmosphere!

Food great, atmosphere great. Guy taking my money sat sideways in his chair and didn't make eye contact with the customers before us nor I. And we're handing this guy big bucks to eat out in a touristy restaurant and I am local Juneauite.

We first came a year ago and loved everything we got. We couldn't wait to return the following year. It lived up to our year long anticipation. There's just nothing better. Feels so at home yet so Juneau. Highly highly recommend making this your stop.

We got really lucky with a beautiful day in Juneau and the food and vibes at Dave’s was great. I got the 3-fish taco sampler and I still can’t decide which was my favorite.

Delicious fish trio with spicy crema. Not a seafood person but these were fantastic - no fishy flavors! The atmosphere was a vibe with music and under a tent so you're shaded. Set up with other food trucks so there's something for everyone!

Very busy (cruises), recommend dy our tour guide, you place your order, then they give you a number to take and place on your table (when u find one). They have a few bars and a free water location. Had the three taco sampler, very good, liked the halibut taco the best.

A fun collection of food trucks serving seafood and drinks (including alcohol). Fish and chips were crunchy and tasty. The local oysters were small but surprisingly plump, fresh/clean tasting with a nice balanced fatty and sweet profile. 3 tables with fire pits each seat 12 people comfortably and there are many picnic tables with umbrellas. Food is delivered fast and very tasty. Great value option for a quick meal or a lazy, boozy afternoon around the fire pit!

Delicious fish tacos. They had a sampler which was great for me. My wife tried out the rock fish and chips and almost didn’t share with me. Almost. Was so nice and thankfully portion was good. Swished down with a ginger and lemon cider, sitting at one of the communal tables with a fire in the middle of each on a rainy day, was so nice. It’s a little walk from the center of town but worth it. It may have been the only reason they weren’t completely packed. Definitely worth a visit.

Excellent vibe and great food. The whole area is a food truck-style eatery with tables under an awning if it’s raining. Other than tacos, there was a crepe truck, ice cream and multiple drinks options. It’s not cheap, but nothing seems to be cheap in Juneau.

I always get the best smile when i give my order I am addicted to the salmon tots . Today i tried the chowder and who ever made it should be considered a national treasure and protected as such !!! The food is a treat to my tastebuds, thank you

Awesome tacos, halibut chowder special was best I've had. Very reasonable price. We had the Captain's platter and a couple appetizers and that was enough to feed eight.

It is what you would expect. Very good food truck food. We all got a variety items, from fish tacos to Rockfish (striper) fish and chips, and everyone likes their food. I got the Halibut fish cake and it was good, but was a bit heavy handed with the onion. Outdoor seating was nice, as we had good weather. They do have covered seating in case of inclement weather.

When in Juneau you must go here!! Best Halibut and chips I've had in a long long long time!! 😋

Excellent tacos. I loved the rockfish and my partner loved the halibut tacos. We also got the dirty fry’s which were delicious. Tots were also very good. I would skip the halibut cake- it is still good but not the best thing on the menu. Only downside is there isn’t a ton of seating if you are visiting with multiple cruise ships in town.

10/5 stars. I would drive back from Texas to have these again. We got the sampler and after we finished we went and got another order. I can’t recommend this enough.

All the fish tacos were amazing. They were flavorful and you could tell it was fresh. They bring the order right to you when it’s ready. Very nice eating area with multiple options for desserts and drinks.

Everything was great, tried all the tacos. Halibut cakes were awesome too. Great vibe and it’s covered, so out of the rain. Nice fire pit tables too.

We came here 2 years ago while on a cruise, the food is amazing! Best fish tacos we've ever had. This year, when we were going to be taking another Alaskan cruise, the only thing my 18 yo son wanted to do in Juneau was eat here again.

Absolutely the best halibut I've ever had! Far better than anywhere else in town. Highly recommend this place. Have also tried their rockfish too and it is amazing. Can't go wrong with deckhand daves.

Some of the best fish tacos that I’ve ever had. I got the three fish tacos sampler, and they were delicious. The atmosphere is great as well with plenty of outdoor seating to include around some fire pit tables. They also had plenty of drink and other food options since they rent their outdoor space to a few other food truck vendors.

Must try! The tacos were a sight for sore eyes after cruise food. 3 fish sampler is the way to go.

Blackened rock fish taco was pretty good. Asked for max spicy and it was still pretty tame. The breaded salmon was yummy.

This place was amazing. It was recommended by our Whale Watching guides as the local hotspot, and they weren't wrong. We had the fish tacos, fish and chips, and Salmon tots. ALL of it was delicious. Fresh and flavorful. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back!

Love the new remodeled area. Deckhand Dave’s is a staple of Juneau and I’m glad to see how they’ve expanded and kept the high quality food and experience. The Trash Bear with Rockfish is my go to but the halibut tacos are excellent as well as the salmon bites. The lines are long but go fast.

Guy at order hut was very rude, thankfully the server who brought our food was very nice and polite. Went here for halibut cakes, stood in line for 15 minutes then told they were out. Salmon tots and dirt fries were our favorites. Wouldn’t eat here again due to the rude guy at order hut and honestly better places out there. The Pucker Wilson’s in same area was amazing!!!?

AWESOME! My wife had the Halibut fish taco and I had the Salmon fish taco. Excluding other seafood dishes in Alaska, this was the best salmon I have eaten. Quick service, delicious and a great outdoor environments convenient to the waterfront. I STRONGLY recommend!!!

Fun place! The line was longish when we arrived (big cruise ships came in shortly after we got there). We tried the blackened rockfish and beer battered halibut fish tacos, the taco sampler and trash can nachos. Yum! Lots of seating, music, fire pits, great spot, friendly atmosphere .... Get the special hot sauce ! Kids enjoyed a crepe next door

These were probably the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. Andre who took our order was super kind. The tacos came out quickly, and after I’d tasted them, I’d honestly happily have waited far longer. The fish were so fresh, and the avocado crema was delicious. These were without a doubt the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. This is a must eat at if you’re ever in Juneau.

We had the rockfish tacos and the sampler tacos. All were very good. If we spent more time here I would definitely go back. Good music and vibe. Very helpful staff.

These halibut tacos were the perfect size and really delicious! All of the ingredients tasted super fresh. It came with 3 smaller size tacos. The rockfish and chips were also very tasty and had a nice crunch to it. There is a nice seating area but it is not wheelchair or stroller accessible, and the area the food trucks were in is on gravel. We had both of these, so it was quite the task getting everyone up to the seating area. Aside from that, the food tasted great and would definitely recommend it.

Great open air spot in downtown Juneau. It's almost like a food truck hall with a few different food options and plenty of beer. The tacos were delicious, and salmon tots were one of the best things I had in Juneau. 11/10 would recommend.

Had three tacos, a sampler of halibut, salmon, and rock fish. They all tasted the same. There is no flavor to the spicy sauce. My wife said the same about her shrimp tacos. It's definitely not worth the price.

Worth the price of a damn trip to Alaska from anywhere, all on account of those damn tacos. I've lived in Texas for almost 50 years; we invented Tex-Mex cuisine. We share a border with our brothers and sisters in Mexico, who obviously invented coastal Latin cuisines. Deckhand Dave's both pays homage-to and surpasses many of the latter establishments in their own different and special ways. Cannot say enough wonderful things about this amazing place.

I eat here probably 4-5 times out of the week. This is no exaggeration. It doesn’t get old, I can eat it everyday. I’m here for the summer and this is the highlight of my summer each year. And it keeps getting better!
