Best pizza in Green Cove! The staff was so friendly, and the pizza was quality gourmet. We recommend the "Junkyard" pizza and stuffed spinach and ricotta.

Have always liked this place but the last two times have been a no-go for us. Sauce tastes old, way too greasy, garlic knots were burnt on the bottom, and our salad was wilted and old. Will go spend the extra $ elsewhere as this place now lacks the charm and great food it used to possess.

This review is only for the NY pizza. It pains me to write this negative review as this was, without question, THE BEST NY PIZZA we'd ever had. (And we've lived in a number of major metro cities.) But something changed over the last several months and the last 4-5 times (yes-we kept trying/hoping just some off nights) it has been terrible. Greasy, greasy, greasy (a switch to cheap cheese?) and somehow simultaneously undercooked and burnt. (Dough is white on the bottom w/no browning, yet top is burnt-just burnt dough bubbles and cheese.) On the bubbles, oh so so many bubbles in the dough, a few are expected but this last time it was every slice. We ended up tossing it out it was so bad. Such a shame as it was so good and the people there are so nice.

Ordered take out. They forgot 1/2 of the order and what they didn't forget was cooked too long. Onions and mushrooms had a foul odor to it. D'Fontana used to be one of my favorite places but something has definitely changed.

I can’t recommend this restaurant enough! I have yet to order something I didn’t enjoy. My husbands favorite thing about D’Fontana are the specials that they offer each time and my children request pizza from here over anywhere else locally. Everything is prepared and cooked to perfection. The owner came out and talked with us and was incredibly welcoming. Bonus: the last time I went in I found out they got some new wine, one happened to be my favorite to get when I’m eating out! This place is a gem in Green Cove!

I usually love this restaurant but today I decided to try the lasagna. And let me tell you the amount of food they give you should not cost $15.99.

1st order since it was purchased. Spent $60+ on a Togo order. 1st - the large pepperoni pizza was good! Great crispy crust, cooked great. My wife’s vodka sauce pasta and my meat sauce pasta both left a lot to be desired. While the skinny spaghetti was welcome, the sauces just lacked flavor and enough sauce to cover the pasta. Finally, we ordered tiramisu and cheese cake. While the flavor was ok on both, the were both frozen products, not homemade, as even after getting them Togo, driving home, sitting on our counter for 1 hour, they were still frozen in the middle of both (and the top of the cheese cake was leather from being cooked wrong by whatever company that made it. As GCS goes, this was OK.

This is a really cute restaurant but the food quality as a restaurant is not tasteful. We had a soup of the day and it was salty and the herbs were over powering. For an Italian restaurant a must know plate should be a Fettuccine Alfredo and when you can't get that recipe right it's bad. The red sauce seemed to be canned and just heated on top of the spaghetti. The seafood scambi was okay. Now the waitress was super nice. The place was busy full which led us to think the food would be great. They do seem to have a great review on pizza but unfortunately we didn't order that so that might be their strong point. I nor my family will not be visiting this place any time soon due to execution of the dinner plates.

The absolute best food! The Sicilian is worth the wait and the strombolis mmmm Update: the chicken picatta is amazing!! I find myself there with my sone once, sometimes, twice a week!!

This is SERIOUSLY the best pizza in the world! If you like NY Style you’ll love this place. Vodka sauce is also amazing. And the atmosphere is so cozy, local family owned vibes. Cece, our waitress was so fun and on top of it! We will be back!

What an incredible restaurant! My honey and I just love a good slice of pizza and we’re visiting from out of state. The food was so delicious! The staff was excellent. The atmosphere was cozy. We wish we could take the whole place home with us!

We are local to green cove and love this restaurant. Probably our favorite week night spot. The pizza is phenomenal and the plated dishes even better. My wife always orders the chicken Parmesan. The new owners are really nice people, and my wife said the chicken Parmesan was better than she remembered!! That is saying something!!

We get take out often never disappointed. Usually pizza but lately Sausage Peppers Onions, Lasagna, Chicken Picatta. All good 👍

The restaurant has some things going for it..It seems to be a local hangout and they have a good happy hour. The Italian food is not authentic.. Jarred sauces, Frozen unmarinated veal, unseasoned pasta; never mind if it's even the one you ordered. Pasta is not served Al dente.. The pizza needs a different dough recipe as it is too dense and dry.. The food menu reads wonderfully, but when you receive the food it doesn't live up to the description.. The alfredo sauce is watery.. Red sauce and marinara is way too sweet.. The restaurant has a decent beer and wine list and the desserts are decent .. The cannolis and cheesecake is quite good.. Main courses, pizza dough and sauces need a lot of work.. The restaurant needs a chef or cook that is interested in making authentic real Italian food.. 👨‍🍳

Food is decent but the service is horrible. Rachel that answered the phone was very rude acted like I was bothering her to place an order. Once I arrived she smerked and handed me my food. When I got home the order was missing my child’s dinner. We called to get a refund for that item and she said we just need to come pick up the dinner that she left out. I have been there 3 times and 2 were bad service.

Had a friend recommend us here Delicious pizza! Cheese sticks are definitely not authentic or homemade, and a bit undercooked when we got em. You can tell they are frozen. We are still coming back for pizza though. Would definitely recommend that!

Great manacoti, and New York style pizza

Excellent service and the pizza was perfectly cooked! The crust was perfect, it was a great pie. Meatball sub was superb and the spaghetti and meatballs were really awesome! Recommend dropping in for a tasty lunch.

I sat down in a puddle of soda! The waitress never said a word to me when I let her know it was there. We then changed tables, waited 10 min wasn’t greeted or waited on. Another couple came in and she knew them by name and got their drinks. The most unwelcoming place I have ever been.

Lunch was good. Meatball sub with drink and spaghetti with meat sauce were both tasty enough. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant enough. All in all, it was enjoyable.

Food was good but we got there at 5:30, didn't get our food until 6:32, and left finally at 6:58. It seemed like the cook only cooked 1 order at a time. All we had was a Philly and a small calzone. They either need kitchen help or a faster cook. If they figure this out they would definitely get a higher rating.

I've driven past this place a hundred times. Finally had a chance to stop for lunch and wasn't disappointed. Quick service for a couple of slices of the lunch special. Very tasty pizza. I've heard good things about their sandwiches and pasta as well. My cup never got empty. Great service!

waitress was super nice and attentive but everything else is generally lacking. this is not in the menu but they dont do single slices after 2:00. the salads are obviously premade with stuff taken off when you dont want it. the meatball topping was really just ground beef. the pizza was fine but nothing special.

Really good pizza!! Stopped for a quick lunch- the crust was perfect (thin crust). The cheese was tasty and the service was great. Very, very nice people. The side salad was nice. We also got a Greek salad which was very good.

First time visit very improved. Good atmosphere friendly service good food oh got the chicken Alfredo. It was very good.

Very disappointing experience! Have been here a number of times with family and friends previously with good experiences; however, this time was very disappointing. Our service was fair as the server made a number of mistakes with our order and we had to request her to correct the order three times during the meal. Additionally, we received the completely wrong entree and was told it would take another 20 minutes to correct it if we wanted the correct entree. The entree pasta was not cooked properly. The server also overcharged us on the bill for an additional item that we asked her to correct but she did not. The manager was completely rude and unprofessional. Recommend that anyone looking for great Italian food go to Santioni's Ristorante on Fleming Island. Much better service, amazing food, great staff, and caring management.

It has lost its edge, when I first started going there 6 years ago it was amazing something has definitely changed ,hard crusty unimpressive pizza . People were not very nice upcharge on the crushed red pepper and parm.

A coworker treated me to some pizza from here today and HOLY SMOKES! This is as close if not better than NY pizza! We tore up the box before I thought to get a picture of the whole pie, but I definitely will have to treat myself next time 🤤🤤🤤

Their pizza is very good. Sauce is subtle and tasty. Love the pizza crust, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Poor experience, one meal hardly touched, said they couldn't take it off the bill, the regular cook wasn't in on Mondays. Chicken Parm was blah, not completely inedible, but not great. Previous visit, worst lasanga ever, but it was near close, just far too soupy - looked like pasta in a bowl of tomato soup, cold in the middle, service was good. .

It is a very popular restaurant. We usually get takeout on a weekend night because all the tables are full. Good meals, we typically get Chicken Parmigian and Spaghetti, sometimes pizza or calzones. Always tasty. Staff is friendly and helpful.

We were a party four on a busy evening- understandable for a Friday evening - let me say the food was very good- however the 21.00 pitchers of beer in small town Green Cove is unacceptable - we will never dine in again due to this- take out possibly - but who can afford an average night out with dinner and drinks for four at those prices…

The food is absolutely AMAZING! The negative part of this review is... The restaurant claims to close at 9 (which is too early) however sometimes at 8 and ALWAYS at 8:30 YOU WILL BE TOLD THAT THE KITCHEN IS CLOSED 🤔 If you don't close until 9, orders should be able to be placed until at LEAST 850?! Especially on a Saturday night! I can't even tell you how many times, over the summer I went to order after a long day at the beach && they wouldn't take my order... What's the point in even answering the phone at 830 if you're only going to say "The kitchen is closed" 🙄 super annoying && QUITE RIDICULOUS... You need to just change the sign to CLOSE AT 830! It's the same as Winn-Dixie saying that they close at 10 p.m. but being told when you walk in at 9:30 sorry the registers are closed for the night... THAT MAKES NO SENSE! CLOSES AT 9 DOESN'T MEAN WE GET OUTTA HERE AT 9 IN THE RESTAURANT WORLD... it takes time to shut down && clean a kitchen... Agreed && understood, however that's part of it...

Watery Alfredo is not quite accurate actually it was more like milk or half and half. There was very little of it on my tortellini alapana and it was a consistency of warm milk. There didn't appear to be any cheese or butter melted in it. I asked the waitress for more"alfredo sauce", thinking that I could doctor it with some Parmesan cheese that was on the table, and after 6 minute wait was brought a large soup bowl full of more warm milk. She quickly set it down and left the table. I ended up sending it back to the kitchen without eating any of it, only to find that it was on our bill at checkout along with a $6 charge for the soup bowl full of warm milk. The waitress said that the owner/manager was not going to take either off our bill, until we insisted they remove it. Later the waitress said that the owner/manager said that that's the consistency of real Alfredo and that usually the thicker Alfredo is from a jar or a can. What a joke. On a bright note the garlic knots we're delicious and my dinner mates feel parmesan was fair.

This place is my favorite restaurant in Green Cove Springs for Italian fare. The staff is very friendly and there are a lot of options to choose from the menu. Me and my family ordered two extra large pizzas and the pizzas have a lot of flavor in the cheese and sauce, and the fried mushrooms are also delicious. We enjoyed our experience at this restaurant and we will be back sometime in the future.

This was really good pizza. Nice thin and crispy dough and flavorful sauce. My only wish is that had green olives (which, to be fair, almost no one does!). We will definitely visit again when we’re in the area!

Orderd a single slice of pizza. Walked in before 3 other customers that were served before me. Set for 15 min waitress walks back says I just realized we don't have single slices of cheese pizza. Ask her for a menu she gets upset like I'm not suppose to ask for one.

Little shop right in downtown Green Cove Springs that has great Italian food. I went for dinner on a Thursday night and the place got busy with just about every table filed. Busy take out service. Service was great, food is excellent. I got fried zucchini which I will get again but the pizza looks so good I will have to get a pie or two next time. Its a hidden gem referred to me by a friend.

Ordered an Italian sub for takeout. Got home and it had ONE, I kid you not, ONE razor thin slice of ham on it. That was the only meat for over nine dollars. I called and asked what was supposed to be on it and was told ham and salami but there was no salami. The girl I spoke with couldn’t have cared less but hey, they already got my money and that is really all they cared about. We used to order from there all the time but I don’t believe we will anymore. Literally one razor thin slice of lunchmeat, one and it couldn’t have been sliced any thinner. Don’t waste your money on this place.

Good pizza. Crust is just a little too thin. NY pizza has a slightly thicker crust that doesn't crack when you fold it.

Service is great. Had a pizza to go which was warm by the time I got home so forgive the rating. Pizza should be served and eaten piping hot. Flavor was great, price was surprisingly economical, but crust was not NY style. No crunch, but that could be because it was in the box for 20 minutes. However, NY pizza normally never has that issue. Smells and flavors are on point. We will try again and check out their extensive menu. Fingers crossed, We are looking for local authentic Italian food!

Besides Papa John's, this is the best pizza place in town hands down. All the staff are wonderful too!

D'Fontana's has not disappointed once since I moved to GCS over a year ago. New doctors, new grocery store, etc but the hardest thing to find is great 5 star pizza. One can always get the chain pizza with like visiting a fast food joint. Reproduceable nothing pizza OR one can find a local family owned Italian/Pizza establishment. My GF and I have eaten inside, ordered off the menu and also done the take out pizza. We had gone to an upscale Pizza place in Fleming Island but now, D'Fontana's is the only place we go for pizza!!

So good he’s on bowl number two ! The customer service is always amazing 🥰 as my son says best “ spaghetti place” ever 😆 chooses this over McD’s every time!

I had a hot sausage pepper and onion sub our group also two styles of pizza and the usual drinks steady crowd without a wait when we arrived at 530 steady carryout traffic near capacity with a seat open for new arrivals We enjoy the food and service and have been having a meal here for many years never disappointed The wait staff is always accommodating and polite 10 out of 10

The food here was very good. I had the lunch special of a salad and a slice of pizza. It was a deal at $6. The restaurant was packed (it was a Wednesday) and service was slow. One of my friend's food didn’t appear with the others so we all waited until hers arrived. I’d definitely return but not on a day when I had any commitments after.

The Sicilian pizza is the best I've ever had. The giardineria for the antipasto is house made, and you can taste the difference. Excellent and affordable.
