Bobby and Miguel were 10/10. They were very understanding of my friend ( who drank too much) and i will be coming back this weekend.

They SMASHED IT!!!! Holy Moly, just go get some! By far the best dang burger I’ve had in my life! And the fries are off the hook as well!!!!

I got my food at 5:19 and it was gone by 5:28 I didn’t even make it home. I recommend getting 2 double burgers and extra sauce for the fries. I’ll be back before leaving Gainesville. Kinda ate most the fries before the pic I was hungry. The inpace is fine I just don’t like the outside

Service & friendliness of the staff is excellent. Burgers are top notch. I do not know of a better hamburger in Gainesville, Florida! My only suggestions (because I am hoping to find these options in town), is French fries cooked in tallow & a bowl option. I have probably gone more often then I should, since my friend introduced me. I highly recommend you give them a try to experience the kind & friendly staff and their delicious food! Ok, hands down the best burgers and fries I’ve ever had. I’ve had them more times than you can count and every time they’re consistently memorable. I spent a year in San Francisco missing DJ’s and was so happy to return to see them blossoming. The service is top notch and a place where you feel like a valued member of the community. Their secret weapon? The chocolate chip cookies.

This is one of the best burgers, if not the best best burger in town. You got to at least try it. The chocolate chip cookies are worth it too. Try a double all the way.

Tried it for the first time today on my quest to find the best burger in Gainesville. It's definitely the leading candidate right now! Awesome taste and texture on the burger. Fries were also really good and I'd imagine even better if I had them fresh out the fryer (I had takeout) My *only* knock is that the burger is a lot smaller than I expected. I got a double and finished it in maybe 5 bites. I'll definitely get a triple from now on but would love if the patties were wider as well. Definitely recommend! Currently #2 on my personal Gainesville food rankings list, the #1 burger.

Couldn't find this place at all and no one answered the phone. GPS took us to wrong address then someone else looked it up for us said it was at 1542 W University and it was nowhere to be seen. Really want to try that Oklahoma burger.

The food is freaking delicious and the owners are awesome. I just can't help but feel that the portions for the prices are too small. I can eat a ~$13 triple burger and ~$7 order of large fries and still feel substantially hungry afterwards. Sometimes I get an additional burger, but that means I'm pushing $30 just for my meal to fill me up. That is absolutely ridiculous, and it's a testament to both the quality/taste of the food and the professionalism of the owners that the pricing doesn't remove this spot from my rotation altogether (though I can't justify coming as much as I would like).

I have not eaten at very many food trucks. I was very impressed by the quality of the food and how much pride they had in their food. It was awesome!! The burgers are delicious and the fries were perfect. Thanks guys.

Burger was decent, but prices are silly for what you get. If you are going to charge $20+ for a burger, fries, and a drink at least make it filling. These are tiny burgers, almost comically small, like smaller than checkers small. Just not worth the money or sitting out in the heat waiting for your food to be made.

I’m going to make this simple and Quick exactly like their process was for not only ordering but receiving my food no wait time but they were def busy great customer service food smelled amazing as I write this review I’ve only tasted the fries and that’s enough for me we were told 7 mins only for Miguel to come out in 6 with our food in hand he kindly walked over to us at our truck we didn’t even get out that’s by far the best service I’ve received in this town in a long time and I’m a big foodie these guys are amazing 10/10 will def try again

A very excellent burger! It’s everything you need and want in a smash burger. Fries are unparalleled and cheese sauce is divine. But dear reader, this is not a review of DJ’s Cast Iron Burgers. Not truthfully. THIS is a review of the paid parking lot in which DJ’s resides. If you love smash burgers, DJ’s is a must. But … If you choose to park in this lot, be aware that you must pay via the app. Your comings and goings will be photographed. If you fail to pay, you will be sent a notice in the mail from “Professional Parking Management” stating that you owe $45, if paid within 15 days, and beyond that brief window, $85. Plus taxes and additional fees for paying online or by phone. They threaten collections and potentially booting your vehicle if you fail to comply with their demands. While within their rights to attempt to collect, it feels very shady and borderline illegal. DJ’s has no control over this matter, and nor should they. And they have signs up to help alert you to the fact that it’s a paid lot and staying beyond the ten minute grace period is NOT free. As for me, I did the crime, and I’m fully responsible for my own actions, and will take the steps to correct this egregious breach of trust. I just want you, dear reader, to be armed with the best possible information while you’re ingesting a supremely delicious smash burger. I want you to know that parking is strongly enforced. Park wisely.

I am all about supporting local businesses, especially when the owners are as kind and passionate as the owners of DJ's. They even give my dog bacon when I bring him 🥹 You should definitely try the food and support this business!

I had the most unparalleled study break trying DJ's for the first time at First Mag! Came for a beer, left with a new Gainesville fave and the environment was stellar. For those into dessert before dinner, when you can't decide on fries or a cookie, get both for sure. Will be back at 1am for a Martinelli's and veg burger run no doubt. Absolutely addicting :D

Super good, food was incredible. Enjoyed the flat crispy style with lots of free veggies. Staff was super nice, clearly had regulars. Presentation was excellent, Wetnaps were a nice touch! Beautiful day to sit in the sun and enjoy the scenery :)

I am a DJs REGULAR. This burger will never be topped along with the signature DJs sauce. I get the single all the way with a side of fries and it's more than enough food. The veggies are fresh and the fries always are freshly fried. DJs serves smash burgers as advertised. I had never tried a smash burger before theirs and I will never go back. Furthermore, its always a pleasure to see the owners and this meal always makes my day :))

It’s always a great day when I’ve planned to get DJs! Seriously ever since the first time I went here, no other burger can top DJs. The burgers are the perfect size, the fries and DJs sauce are also unique. The guys there are also super sweet! I recommend this place to everyone I know, so this is your sign to get some DJs!

I don’t usually pay any mind to leaving reviews but when you have great food, you just have to rave about it. We just moved to the area and were driving around looking for food and their truck stood out to us. And I’m so glad we did cause the food is amazing and fresh and an absolute flavor bomb. And the service is TOP TIER. We’re huge foodies so we HAVE to come back here. Chefs kiss.

The triple burger was 3-4oz of meat. Patties are literally 1oz each.

This is the first cast-iron burger I have tried, and I can say without a doubt it is the best burger I’ve ever had. It is the best burger in Gainesville, do not let the food truck deceive you. The owners are very nice and accommodating, while the menu is limited, the food and flavor packs of punch, and they always get the order correct. If you are bringing a friend to Gainesville, would highly recommend you have them check this place out. The prices are also very reasonable compared to some of the other burger spots in Gainesville. I recommend getting the double or triple patty.

My family and I have been to DJ’s twice now and have been blown away each time. The food is amazing! You can taste the love and passion that has gone into the cooking. Each burger has an amazing and unique flavor profile. The hand cut fries are unmatched. The sauce? Ties everything together beautifully. Beyond the food, the staff is incredibly kind and make you feel welcome. Being welcomed back the second time with a “it’s good to see you guys again” makes for a personal experience. We also first hand witnessed the generosity of DJ’s giving back to the community when they could. All in all, I will happily refer anyone looking for a good burger right to DJ’s. As for my family and I, we will be frequent visitors.

They were a little late getting started today so my food took about 40 minutes to get out from when I arrived. Not really anything to be done about it. Super nice guy taking the order, and they had a validation code for the parking so I wouldn't get charged. Never seen that before, maybe it's common in Gainesville but not where I've lived. Location could be better upkept but that's really on the parking lot owner. Food was phenomenal. I can't say it's my top burger of all time but it's definitely my top smash burger of all time. That said, it tasted like something I could achieve at home with practice. That's actually a plus for me, it had flavors that felt familiar and homemade, just very very high quality. The fries though, that I don't think I could top. The dirty fries are so worth it. The chili and the pickled onions were both slightly spicy and so it just kind of tingled a bit in my throat. Really good spice, not burning, just flavor and a bit of sizzle.

Miguel the owner is such a crook . He completely disrespected me and my family . I don’t see any business succeeding when the owner has no genuine qualities of integrity , respect and moral ethic . Standing up a business with such rude qualities that he has is not worth your time and money . From a business mentality and its success comes from very important qualities such as respecting others genuinely. I am very disappointed and will not reccommmed this place at all .

DJ’s Cast Iron burgers is sooooo good. They’re located in a convenient spot for many. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and very quick with cooking the food - but not too quick to where it hurts the quality. The Oklahoma burger was delicious with the onions and the pickles and cheese. Their fries were incredible and probably the best fries I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to go back

We got takeout. Overall, it was good! A good quality burger, flavorful, crispy and still juicy. Only reason it isn’t five stars for me is, everything was anywhere from mildly spicy (the Oklahoma Burger) to pretty spicy (the Dirty Fries), and nowhere was it stated that the DJ’s sauce (that’s on everything, it seems) had some spice to it. For me, I liked it; for my partner, they cannot have spice (for several reasons, but also just don’t enjoy it). Even with that said, my partner STILL said the burger was very good; I just wish places like this would be clear about any spice content. Definitely still give them a try. They were great!

We had burgers and fries close to closing. Best hamburger we have eaten in several years the fries were also quite good. Service was friendly and explained my few questions. The large fry had a lot more yummy fries than expected. Will definitely be back.

I got my first burger from DJ's today and to start with, the burger and fries were so good! Really quality ingredients and the service was excellent. Initially I was a little disappointed because I ordered a double deluxe and it didn't look like there were two patties or cheese, so I called and left a voicemail. Jose called me back within 30 minutes and was so friendly, he explained because the patties are so thin that sometimes it looks like there's only one and the cheese melts into the patties so it's not as noticeable. All of this makes perfect sense and regardless of the legitimacy of my complaint, they offered to compensate me. I highly recommend DJ's!

I stopped by their food truck, just across the street from Trulieve. I ordered a burger with fries and the flavor was excellent and at a great price! Jose and Miguel were very courteous, and even offered to bring my order to my car when they saw I was having difficulty standing, even with using my cane. I highly recommend giving them a try! It's the perfect place to grab some munchies on the way home. 😉

Best burgers in town, and best smash burger I ever had! Try the Oklahoma Burger - a double smash burger with cheese, charred onions, sweet pickles, DJ's Sauce, and perfectly toasted bun. It's the perfect balance of flavors. José and Miguel are incredibly nice and friendly. My wife and I stop by regularly, and they remember our names and our order. My wife substitutes the Beyond Burger for beef, and it's the best veggie burger she's had. The fries are fantastic as well. I keep meaning to check out their artisanal hot dogs (local, from Fehrehbacher's), but the burgers are so hard to pass up. Go check this place out. José and Miguel will make you feel right at home, and they'll make you the best burger you ever had!
