Great little place with excellent coffee! Iced caramel latte is excellent!

I am not local to the area but we went to Drifting Grounds EVERY DAY of our trip because it was that good! And every day was the SAME perfect coffee. We were in the area in mid August, and I dream every day of the coffee here.

I am not from the area and just happened to come across this coffee shop. Their coffee was delicious but their overnight oats were fabulous. I had the banana peanut butter and my daughter had the caramel apple. I sure wish they would open a shop in my town in Virginia! Highly recommend!!

Drifting Grounds is a hidden gem on the Delaware Shore! I stopped for the first time this week. The coffee was great; the service even better (thanks Madison!); and the location unique. The shop is in a building that is interconnected. You can freely walk out into another store in another part of the building. Looking forward to going back!

This was a very fun atmosphere. This place offers more than just delicious coffee. A bookstore, record store and toy store are attached to the premises. My girlfriend and I love finding new coffee spots and this was a memorable place. Also the outside seating is very cool, relaxed and chill. We are staying in OCMD but would happily make the drive up again for more coffee! Also we had iced coffee and a croissant which were great. The iced coffee was high quality.

My adult daughter’s favorite place! The coffee is very fresh! Love the atmosphere especially when all the shops are open- Lounge and bookstore are great as well as Pearls alley- Highly recommend!

This is possibly some of the best coffee I've had - ever. Highly, highly recommend. We saw the line outside and were a bit worried about the wait. They move quickly, the coffee is amazing, the people that work there are super friendly. Did I mention the coffee is excellent?

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I've been coming here for years, every morning when I'm at the beach. The staff and owner are absolutely wonderful people who are friendly and patient and gladly explain their different baked goods selection. They work efficiently and the wait is never ever long, even when the line is out the door. I have not had a bad experience in the 100 or so times I've been (from the old trailer to the new building!) I truly look forward to my morning Redeye dark roast every day. My son loves their hot chocolate and scones, too! Every person I've brought here has loved it. You'd be missing out if you're a coffee lover and you don't stop here at least once.

This place is the REAL DEAL!! Their espresso beans are top quality deliciousness! You can’t go wrong with the mocha cappuccino double shot! I only wish they stayed open till 5:00pm. LONG LIVE DRIFTING GROUNDS!! PS: I love their walk up TO-GO window, the Joe app, and their friendly staff.

Great coffee shop attached to a book/record store and retro toy store. They had paintings displayed there from one of my favorite artists, too. Love coming here every beach trip.

If you need your morning java jolt this is my favorite Bethany Beach coffee shop. Don't forget to try their breakfast casserole (mouth watering) or the overnight oats (delish) as well. Who knew simple food could be so delightful.

Love this little coffee shop. As a local, it's somewhat of a hidden gem where I bring friends from out of town, or I'll pop in by myself for a coffee mid-day. It's eclectic business partners inside are very fun too...a great vintage shop and book shop, in particular.

First time visiting this coffee shop and I absolutely loved it! After enjoying our delicious beverages and pastries, we probably spent an hour walking around checking out the toys, vinyl records, and books that were for sale. This is such a unique place. Will definitely be a repeat customer next time I visit Bethany Beach.

Oooo yeah. It's cool in there. I wish I had taken a picture because the latte art on mine was great. Very good too. And fairly priced. Also I like how the toy store, a vintage clothing store, a used book store, and this coffee shop are all connected. It's like all my favorite kinds of places under one roof! And it's so nice to browse with an excellent coffee in-hand.

If you know and love high-quality coffee served by hospitable people, I can't recommend Drifting Grounds enough. Their coffee is not generic stew-in-the-carafe roasting; it's dark, rich, and freshly brewed with care. The brewers smile and converse with you (I've been to coffee houses where the employee culture was snobbishness), and the coffee shop itself is connected to a book store and consignment shop with extensive seating. Also, they had a wide array of breakfast foods and snacks to include the gluten-free variety. You will not be disappointed by Drifting Grounds!

Stumbled on this cute local coffee shop on a Saturday morning. They opened at 730 and already had people waiting to enjoy their goods. I was taken care of quickly but a kind staff and you could tell the locals frequented here as the staff knew names of people 💕. I ordered a small decaf cappuccino with skim milk and SF hazelnut syrup. Delicious! It was hot but not scalding and I didn’t have to make any tweaks. They do have breakfast pastries and some Gluten Free options too! It also looked like they had some lunch options for later in the day.

Excellent spot! There's a small outside trailer for service by some outdoor seating and an indoor seating & service area connected to a second-hand store that has a great variety. The cookie I had was falling apart in the best way possible as I enjoyed it, and the latte tasted great. Good amount of seating with good beach style music.

Coffee is spectacular! Not kidding, got a latte and it was one of the best I’ve ever had! On top of that, staff are very friendly! Highly recommend. Don’t waste your time going somewhere else.

Prices are fair. Service is fast and friendly even though they were super busy. The coffee was really good. I got a hazelnut iced coffee and was surprised how it wasn't super sweet. It has a nice balanced flavor. My girlfriend ordered the iced vanilla latte with oat milk and it was really good too. We will definitely come here again!

Always pleasant staff equal to the espresso. Both missed when away. 'Go to' coffee shop in Bethany Beach. (6 years ago) Updated: Aug 2023: The move to Oceanview made my visits a short bike ride away vs. a very short walk. Still is all of what it was and even better. Staff are great and the atmosphere is so chill. Shopping and sipping as well as great baked goods. Go here!

UPDATE: it’s official! We are now regulars! LOVE THIS PLACE! We would be regulars here! LOVE! So cute. Great atmosphere. Wonderful folks behind the counter. I wanted one of every pastry. We had 4 and every one was DELICIOUS! Croissant, croissant with hazelnut, blueberry muffin, and a puff pastry with hazelnut inside. The pastries had a flaky crust and that perfect *ccchhrusthch* with each bite. Overnight oats too. So good! Chai Latte with oat milk and a cappuccino were the kickstarters for this morning. Parking was easy. Places to sit outside and enjoy your morning. I love this place!

Spent 4 hours here looking at the vinyl, books, toys and everything in between. There's so much too this place. Definitely worth your while.

By far, the BEST coffee and eats place around Delaware Beaches!!! I typically get hot Earl Gray tea with Almond milk and Lavendar syrup. I also have had iced coffee with Almond milk and coconut syrup. My hubby loves their hot chai tea. We are hooked on their fritatta ....wowwwww!!! Their croissants are also the best ever!!! This place is clean, friendly and spot on every time with food and drinks. The location is a bit hidden, but they have a sign along the main road. Such a wonderful gem, we have been on vacay for 10 days now and have gone EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! Don't miss trying this place, you will be hooked!!! Fantastic coffee in Ocean View. Since there are limited options in the area it does get crowded but the staff is efficient. Being connected to the book and toy stores upstairs makes it a unique place.

Best lattes and coffee in the Bethany Beach / Ocean View area! My wife and I have had nothing but great service and great coffee drinks. The new shop is connected to the book store which is wonderful in itself. If you’re new to the area or just visiting, look no further!

By far the best coffee shop in Sussex County. I used to go to the coffee truck and sat outside by fire with my dog. Now you can enjoy the same great coffee inside and the pastries are amazing. The owner is an artist with the milk designs he does on the cappuccinos. Staff are friendly ,informed and the place has a great vibe. Don't forget to check out Pearl's Boutigue and the books. Both on the back of coffee shop. Many of my airbnb guests go there and feel the same. Get the perks card . 👍👍👍👍👍

Best coffee I had in Bethany Beach

Living in NYC most of the year, Drifting Grounds serves some great coffee coupled with friendly service from the staff all year round. I’ll miss the service from the truck, and waiting patiently in the open no matter what the weather, but so happy for them that their brick and mortar shop has finally (re)opened to serve even more of the Bethany and OV communities!!

Excellent Coffee !, some baked goods and a hot breakfast option, or two. Sits a bit back from the road, and sign is easy to miss. So pay attention, cause it's worth a stop.

Great coffee shop! Plenty of seating, great pastries and food! Coffee is good but more on the acidic side. All you really need is a splash of cream or a packet of sugar. I highly recommend this little coffee shop! Support the local business!

It's kinda hidden off the road but you'll see their trailer off to the side. It's on the eastern-most part of the development. It's got a really cute decor inside with nice, comfy chairs to chill in as well as nice eating area outside. They have some classic coffee selections, a few pastries, and a few breakfast-type items for food but their eating options are not extensive. We had their iced chai latte and enjoyed it so much we came back the next day to have it again.

This place is what a coffee shop should be, great energy when you walk in, the coffee is absoulty delicious I got the cold brew, also snagged a blackberry muffin which was huge, moist, and tasty. Staff has great vibes and are super friendly people. Menu pricing not bad I spent like 9 bucks. I 100% recommend this little place if you enjoy great tasting coffee and baked goods

After a long time serving from the food truck, the shop opened today! Order online with the get.joe.coffee website or mobile app. Wide variety of coffee and tea drinks. We usually order latte and a macha with coconut milk. Lots of vegan and dairy free drink options. Gluten free and vegan food options also. Incredible fast casserole! Walk up window for pick up. Lots of outdoor seating.
