First time visit. Server was new and could not answer any questions about food or drinks. Food was OK, not great by any means. Margarita was not made correctly nor was it good. Not a fan

Third time I've been here in 2yrs. All 3 times the service has been horrible! The staff make me feel as if I'm and inconvenience to them for being here. The food is some what okay but nothing like any of the other el jalisco in Tallahassee. I am 1 of 3 people, 1 of 2 tables eating. There are 3 tables that had not been cleaned and were still dirty when I left. Management needs to do some serious improvements! Maybe the owners need to visit more often or something.

Food was ok, service was quick, place was practically deserted.

This is NOT at all like El Jalisco on N. Monroe St. El Jalisco in Havana was a disappointment. We will NOT be back.

Stopped for a quick lunch, newly opened ! Food was great! Service was attentive and personable! Wonderful first impression! This review was awhile ago, we continue to return again and again to try new dishes And are never disappointed.

Lunch specials during the week make it a delicious but affordable choice!

I am a BIG fan of the El Jalisco chain of Mexican Restaurants. However after visiting nearly 15 of these, Blountstown Florida (my favorite) snd Eugaila, AL are the only 2 ill give a 5 STARS This one was simply OK.

This was my first time eating at this location, and there will most likely not be a repeat visit. The food was rather bland, but the service was okay.

Food still is lacking compared to other locations in the Tallahassee area. Hands down the best location so far is Crawfordville.

Great food, decent service, but the atmosphere could use some work. It's an older place so taking that into consideration, there are still things you can do to dress things up. As for the service, the people are friendly and bring the food out very quickly but the refills are very slow; never allow a customer's glass to be less than half full. I always leave a tip but I feel like I'm overpaying when I tip if you don't keep checking on me and my fellow guests. Overall, keep in mind the food is good, so please visit but leave your own review and mention the things needing improvement so that this can go from a good experience to a great experience.

I always hate leaving a less than positive review but we were disappointed with El Jalisco Havana. The chips and salsa are good as is the guacamole. But the beans and rice had very little if any flavor. Chicken chimichanga taste was decent but quite dry. Service was friendly but a bit slow. The entire facility needs remodeling. Paint on the walls is fading and chipped in places. Flooring and ceiling are quite plain. The restrooms really need some work. Honestly, had I seen those first, I would have left first thing. I do hope this location gets some attention. They seem to be well liked in Havana and I truly hope to see it stay that way. But for now, we will probably wait a while before going back.

Delicious as always, we were there between lunch and dinner and there was nobody in the restaurant but us. Service was excellent.

Very slow service. Was there 45 minutes before we got our food. Then poured bleach on floor bc it was closing time, but we were there late due to them.

Stopped in for dinner and tried something Is never seen on the menu before. I'm not sure this is a new menu item, but it was very good. I also saw some other new items in going to try when I go back. While the resturaunt was slow, service was too, not sure why. All in all, still a great little place to eat in Havana.

Excellent food and service. Probably the best food I've had from any El Jalisco. This place would get five stars but the building (especially the bathrooms) could use some updating.

This is best El Jalisco I've been too. Waitress was a little dingy and didn't fully understand English but the food was excellent.

Great place in Havana for Mexican cuisine.

Very good lunch specials. I got a quesadilla, rice and beans for 5.95. Good service as well. The waitress didn't let anyone's drink run less than half full and even delivered our bill the second we were done, which admittedly can be a frustrating wait in restaurants that are as full as this one, or any restaurants at all.

Waiters and waitresses were very helpful and food was out in great time. And the food itself is delicious. Love music on Wednesdays...will definitely be out there again soon

We ate at El Jalisco Havana the first night they were open and have eaten here hundreds of times since then. New ownership this year has really improved the food, but the service remains excellent. We will be back!

The restaurant smelled sour and was very dirty and dark. Chips were out of a bag and quesadilla was soggy. We will go to tallahassee if we want Mexican food. Plenty of decent places to go in Tallahassee. It is sad that Havana just can’t keep a decent restaurant going

Chicken street tacos are hella good! Service was excellent too!

Mexican Enchiladas are a great choice if you are unsure what to get..

The service was horrible the waitress didn't want to wait on us was too busy talking, playing around and flirting with the waiters she was rude! We ordered fajitas my sister asked for onions to be well done and they came out raw she asked the waitress to please have them cooked some more so she brought the cook to our table I guess because she didn't understand but he was rude and asked what would you like me to do about it they did finally cook them some more as she walked off I asked for my sour cream she threw her hands up and gave me a dirty look. She was talking about me with other employees not knowing I understand Spanish. My sister didn't get half of her order and had to keep asking for it. We ordered queso and it came out with our food. Had to look for the waitress if we wanted something. She slammed the ticket down on the table. I've been a waitress for 30 years if she was my employee she would have been fired. Do NOT recommend!!!!

Now this place right here food good, drinks good, friendly and I like how they have someone to perform that was nice and the days I went the bathroom was clean all they need to do is have the disinfectant spray a extra bottle in there so the customer the ones that no better to keep it clean after ever usage ... they'll be right on the side of A-town in Bainbridge ..yes sir both good restaurant...

Loving the new changes and the queso is one of my favorite things to get here.

Under New Management and the food and service are pretty good. The new menu is huge! The chips do not taste fresh and there are a lot of broken ones, salsa doesn't have much taste at all.

Best El Jalisco in town! But hey, what happened to the live music???

Delicious, authentic Mexican food. Good portions for the prices. Service was fast and friendly.

Mexican music at just the right level. Drinks were cold and the food arrived warm ready to eat. flavor was great in every dish. Plus it was plenty for the price. Chips and salsa serve at the beginning and was fresh.

The server was fantastic, the manager was friendly, and the most important food and drinks were delicious!

I heard el jalisco Havana is under new management and went to try it. What a difference!!! Service was great and the new manager is really friendly. I order a shrimp ceviche and a mango margarita. Delicious!

Service at this location is horrible. We sat about 20 minutes before anyone even got our drink order.

Staff is awesome, food is great and the atmosphere is excellent. Great place for lunch or dinner. Hamburgers are delicious and the fries are good.

The owner jaime is a grate guy and takes care of his customers verry well

Extremely slow service. Chips are from a bag, not made fresh. Ordered TABLESIDE guacamole, which menu specifically states is made table side , to your specifications. What came was a premade glob of chunky avocado mixed with chunks of onion, jalapeños, and no flavor. The absolute worst guacamole I’ve ever tasted. I sent it back, and I NEVER send food back…it was that bad. The burrito tasted like everything was from a can…ground beef reminded me of canned hot dog chili.

There is not a restaurant within 50 miles that does a better hamburger!

Food was good Price was good. Service was not so good. Server never checked back , drinks were never refilled. The lactose intolerant person at our table ordered no cheese on his dish. It had cheese on it but the server never checked back. That person scrapped the cheese off.

Wow thanks for the tiny cup of salsa, did not know who my waiter or waitress was. Sat there ready to order with no one to take my order so I had to get up and leave. I will definitely stick with the ones in Tallahassee, way better.

The restaurant itself was run down and dingy. Parking lot not well lit. The service slow! We had to ask for chips and salsa and never got them till our meal was served. I've never had chicken fajitas that had Italian bread crumbs on them! Yuck! Fajitas typically come with peppers and onions. My dish had very few of those, but lots of stewed tomatoes....possibly to go with the bread crumbs? The fajitas were not juicy at all. They came with sour cream , guacamole, etc. The sour cream portion was literally the size of a quarter! Same with guacamole! Chicken was grilled looked like it was cooked on a griddle. My husband got the Carne asada again dry and just nasty. Not sure how this place stays in business....must be the high prices and tiny portions. This was a one and done, will never go back. Just YUCK!

We love El Jalisco in Havana. Food is delicious and prices are great. Our total for 2 adults, 2 margaritas, a soda and queso dip was $41.

By far worth the 2-hour drive. The management and staff are tremendous and immediately make you feel as part of the family. The food is not only more than delicious, the presentation is outstanding!!! When you’re there, you don’t want to leave!

Didn't order food, but drinks were very weak. Hurricane tasted like there was no alcohol, though blue lagoon was adequate. Ambiance could be improved. Got more of a buzz from a single bottled Budweiser than the blue lagoon. The waitress looked like Ronnie Milsap, and took forever to bring the drinks. Some dude who looked like John Mellencamp tried to feel me up in the bathroom.

Absolutely terrible service. My fiancé and I waited 15 minutes and no one even took our drink order. As we were leaving several waitstaff were standing around up front chatting. I will not be back.

So far all I have tried is the for fajita burrito, it's darn good Service has been great as I've order take out each time after work. Quick service. Good portions!

I have been to many El Jalisco’s Tallahassee and Thomasville and normally they are great, this location has been the worse by far. Slow service, missing order items, food was poor. This restaurant gives all the El Jalisco’s a bad name.

Our worst El Jalisco visit. Over 10 minutes to get a server to visit the table (and they weren't busy). We ordered cheese dip; it was never served. The taco shells were sparsely filled, and the shells were stale or never put in the oven. Very disappointing experience. Perhaps it was the lack of maturity of the young man. I noticed he was pretty good at twirling his order pad on his finger. Havana needs competition. I've had much better take out experience from Tallahassee El Jalisco on Capital Circle NE.

Great mexican food and service!

Wow, pleasantly surprised by this gem. Lighting inside, a little bright, open space, can get packed. The food was DELICIOUS!!! Service was excellent and the 2 4 1 drinks...yummy. I will go back. So good. Everything was just right. Keep it up guys, you areva gem for Havanna.

UPDATE Aug 2022: Reduced to 1 star! One star for good flavor, but that is all. We have lived here a few years now and used to come here frequently, enjoying our visits, but it has been a few months and something has gone terribly wrong. Prices have gone up but the overall experience has gone down. Floor was very sticky and staff just stepping over trash. Then it took so long to order we tried to get drinks and food in one visit. We were forced to wait, order drinks, then come back for food.  Staffing was not the issue, because there was a lot of idle chatter going on, while we had to wait. Menus were covered in sticky food. Chips arrived, but salsa and queso were in badly chipped dishes. Is that even safe/legal? Isn't there a chance of more chips breaking off and getting in your food? Refills for our chips and drinks took entirely too long and we never got the salsa refill we asked for. We don't find out until our food order finally arrives, that the one item I wanted most (chile relleno) is not available. No way I am ordering something else, now! No surprise, after another long wait, and more empty drinks, the bill finally arrives and the chile relleno is still on it). Wow! Train wreck! OLD REVIEW: Food was excellent. Wife had the Blue Lagoon and she loved it. She said it did not taste strong but it clearly was stronger than it looked. The only concern was service. Once our food came out we didn't see a server again until we were done. Would have liked a but more attentiveness. Drink refill, etc. Still, a good dinner experience. Not perfect but not much is these days.

This is the dirtiest and worst El Jalisco I have ever been to! I mean a quarter inch thick dust on the walls, fans and decorations. If they don’t clean what customers see, then what do you think their kitchen looks like where they prepare your food?? Not to mention our waiter couldn’t even speak English so he had no idea what I was even asking for. I’ve been twice to give them a second chance after the first horrible experience but, it was pointless. Don’t waste your time or money.

Well the second time around the chicken taco wasn’t as good as the first time but overall it was satisfying.

I love this place. It's perfect for a small town like Havana, FL for Mexican food!!! My husband and I eat there regularly.

Have gone to El Jalisco several times in Havana and have a amazing experience every time. Amazing food and great customer service every time.

The food was very good same as their service, the only detail the need to improve is to bring more authentic mexican home made drinks to their menu, they do not have orchata drink or aguas frescas and same goes for more tipical preparation of tacos meats: al pastor, lengua...is a bit too americanized.

Food is great, but in-restaurant service has fallen off. Visited for lunch recently and other than to take our order and drop off the check, our waiter never came back. When we asked for assistance others in the establishment acted like it was a bother. Sad to see El Jalisco falling off like this. Just drive the extra few minutes into Tallahassee and eat at Pepper's or Echalee. If you just have to have El Jalisco, go to the North Monroe restaurant.

Quick service, friendly service and good food

Service was great but food not a good as north monroe and tharpe.

Poor service will never eat at that one again.

This location's service is great compared to Tallahassee. By service I mean the staffs service and also the food. Was expecting less from this small town location. But, I was impressed, didn't wait to long and the food was not overdone or undercooked.

A delightful surprise to find such good Mexican food around here. It was fantastic. The presentation was beautiful. The flavors were rich. The portion was just right. Excited to go back!

Just like other el jalisco but the owner is a local which makes it 100x better to eat at.

I was surprised when I heard they had opened up a El Jalisco in Havana. I've always enjoyed some good ole Mexican Food, and of course the ever so delicious Margaritas. 😁

They "lost" my order when I was on my lunch break and when the food finally came out it tasted like someone who had never cooked Mexican food before cooked it. Im very hopeful that they can recover.

Where to start....our server took the order to the kitchen where they not only couldn't tell the difference between a steak dinner and a fajitas meal, the steak was beyond well done when it was requested rare, completely wrong sides, my wife's shrimp smelled like they should have been thrown out 2 days ago and everything else was completely lackluster in flavor. The sweet tea was foul and then they wanted to argue over whether or not they should charge us for a kids drink that supposedly comes with the meal...if you want good Mexican in the Havana area go to Laredo...

Had RibEye Steak meal. I asked for medium, but it was cooked all the way through, but still very juicy and delicious. Fresh cooked vegetables. Recommend it.

THIS PLACE WAS HORRIBLE, HIGHLY UNRECOMMEND!! I heard they actually had good breakfast and boy was that a lie! Today was my first time at this location. We met friends for breakfast. I order the 2 eggs and 2 pancakes combo and my wife ordered the 2 eggs combo. Everyone's food comes out relatively quick along with my pancakes, but not my, nor my wife's, eggs and other stuff. The waiter had to ask us again what we ordered (first mistake). He brings our food out and our food was literally cold like it was the first plates made and just sat off to the side of the counter. The bacon looked like absolute trash and our eggs were BURNT. So I tell the waiter "I will pay y'all for the pancakes, but you can take the rest of this back and off our tab". He insisted on making us new plates to-go free of charge, alright I am cool with that. He brings a bag full of food out and we look in it....THEY LITERALLY SCRAPED THE FOOD OFF OUR PLATES, WARMED IT UP, AND TOSSED IT IN CONTAINERS!! Get the hell out of here with that garbage. On top of all that, absolutely none of the staff there seemed like they wanted to be there. I HOPE the higher up management sees this. Today was the first AND last time I go to that location. I'll drive the 1.5 hours to the one in Eastpoint.

Go here on a regular basis. Food is always good staff are great well worth the money. Try the Three Amigos one of our favorites!

Food was fantastic, great taste and friendly staff. Ordered Devil’s shrimp and was delicious if you enjoy spicy food. Definitely will come back.
