Sarah was a great server and that was a DAMN good burger!!!

Solid 5/5. If you like burgers & tap there is nothing else you can ask for. Special shoutout to Chance who provided excellent service! He’s a server who knows the menu, understood what we liked & went out of his way to surprise us with a sample at the end. Atmosphere is killer. Cable TVs with remotes at the tables with a free on-demand selection to enjoy with everything else. This happened to be our first stop in St Pete and we’ve been discussing it since.

Almost ended up not going because it looked sketchy on the outside but glad we did. Took my girlfriend and the burgers were 🔥

Really enjoyed the food here. We've been once & look fwd to going again. Our waitress was Jaimie..I think & she was great especially considering it was crowded & a wknd. Nice selection of beers the drafts were nice & cold which is a definite plus! The cucumber salad was really nice

Stumbled on this place before a Tampa Bay Rays game and wasn’t disappointed! My boyfriend and I went here and days later he wouldn’t shut up about the burgers!!! He had the border and I had the Windy City burger! So so good— definitely stop by!

Yummy! My favorite local burger spot, burgers are always stacked high with delicious ingredients, home made sauces & a burger patty that’s always perfectly cooked. Don’t expect to only be wow’s by the burgers because there other menu items like the sriracha crusted hot wings are always a killer! Definitely check this place out.

I ordered a take out order burger and fries which was amazing! Absolutely superb quality nothing but good things to say in that department. However, on a principal level the exchange with the restaurant left a bad feeling with me. My pick up order was $14.52. I walked in and paid with a 20 dollar bill. The bartender woman handed me 5 dollar bills back and said “here is your change.” She then proceeded to go back to other tasks. I stood there for a few moments to see if she would realize she owes me 48 cents more. I then had to awkwardly ask for the rest of my change which she uncaringly goes “we don’t have coins” and then continues to work again. I didn’t want to escalate the issue any further as this was not worth any more of my time so I said ok no problem and walked out. Obviously 48 cents is not a big amount of money but this is a principal thing for me. Why would you not address this in the beginning that you don’t have coins when the customer has to take the monetary loss? Furthermore, why should I have to regain their attention and ask for the correct amount of change in the first place. It just left a Grimy feeling with me that felt like this business was trying to get one over on me.

This Place is well known for their Duck Wings and Burgers. They where pretty good! Other than that, its just a Bar. I enjoyed the very nice Service

I keep forgetting to take pictures but I absolutely love The Saint, especially on a pretzel bun with cheese curds and onion rings added to it! Jalapeño bacon as the bacon on it makes it extra great. I get it without mustard and with the gravy on the side, super delicious with fries and tater tots!

Best food I've had in Florida. The chilli dog was mindblowingly good, and the wings were crispy and juicy - really well cooked food with great service. Thanks to Danielle especially!

Took our whole family to dinner. 11 people with small and large kids. Our server was outstanding. She tried very hard to please everyone which is difficult. She succeeded. And everyone enjoyed our food and drinks.

Holy Crap! We got takeout, as we were hungry but also tired and staying at a hotel up the road: This food is incredibly good! My wife ordered the bacon cheeseburger, and i ordered the "demi+god" burger. These were truly one of the best burgers each of us have had in a long, long time! We also split an order or the crispy Sriracha wings, and those were also excellent! All good praise, from us! Great food!

Not sure I understand the hype here for these burgers. Went twice and both times just underwhelmed. The bun is dry and almost taste like previously frozen. The bacon was chewy. Burger itself was cooked perfectly but lacked in flavor all around. Tots were standard and very good. Place was packed so there was a long wait after sitting at the bar which is understandable.

Some of the best burgers on planet earth.... not an exaggeration You'd be hard pressed to find another place that will cook your burger perfectly every. single. time. Seriously. I must've gotten 100 burgers here and these people do not miss, ever. The flavor of the patty itself is just..... spectacular. You simply have to try one. And can we talk about how the burger costs only $13???? In this economy??? It's August 2024.... the going rate for a burger these days is $17-$20. Charging $13 for a burger would've been a steal 10 years ago before the inflation crisis. The establishment itself is a no-frills bar & burger joint. Super chill. Wear whatever you want, we're here to enjoy some food, not be seen at the Met Gala. Very friendly and attentive staff, all around great vibes. Truly these are the best burgers in my life and above all else, any burger lover needs to give Engine 9 a try. It will instantly become the standard you measure all other burgers to.

The food was great. Love their burgers. We went at a not busy time so I think there was only one waitress that was spread thin. So, had an empty glass for a bit and had to go looking for her to pay. It has a big bar and some seating in the back. It's very dark walking in and since is has such big windows (I'm assuming) the temp is on the warm comfortable side.

We’ve lived in downtown st Pete for a while now and have had over 20 burgers from Engine No. 9. The food is ALWAYS fresh and delicious. The place and staff are ALWAYS warm and inviting. They also have an incredible draft beer menu. As we move back home and out of st Pete we will deeply miss this place as it will always have a special place in our hearts. My favorite burger: Wine-O. My husbands favorite burger: the black hawk (burger with a fried chicken breast on it)

It’s a darker setting as soon as you walk in so that gives off straight bar vibes. But then you get escorted to a table in the back that is more open and bright. One cool thing is that each table has its own tv and its own remote. You have cable and can watch whatever you want. I can also say that the burgers are excellent. Very detailed. Like when you see a burger on a commercial and then the burger looks much different in real life, if this place had a commercial, the burger actually would look like the commercial. They really go the extra mile with their burgers.

We sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly. It was warm inside. Beer and wine only…we didn’t know that before we went. Great burger and I had sweet potato fries-best ever! My husband had tater tots. Always like when a place has tots!

I ate here with a party of seven on a Thursday night around 9pm. The place was really hopping, and we had to wait a while for a table to open up. The wait was more than worth it. The burger and drink options are incredible. I started with the Duck Wings, which were very tasty. The Demi-God burger (cheddar, Swiss, mushrooms, and caramelized onions) was one of the tastiest burgers I've ever had. My new go-to place when I visit family in FL.

been coming here for like two years…everything about this place is great. i’ve had almost every burger on the menu and don’t have any complaints. the sriracha wing sauce is amazing for wings or burgers! always good ale and wine on tap! not to mention i make a friend almost every time i come in! the staff are friendly and attentive. they actually want you to enjoy your time here! can’t say enough good things about the 9.

Came to get a burger for my Birthday went with the bokor burger and first bite I took I knew It was over jus a giant clump of room temp cheese curds on top of the chewiest "brisket " with tendons all through it basically had to remove all the topping to be able to stomach half of it . Pretty bummed but live and learn :(

I had the Resurrection Burger. It was fantastic! The only disappointment was that they were out of sweet potato fries and curly fries.

As soon as you walk in, you are engulfed in how dark the place is, and you can forget about reading your menu because it's way too dark. Even so, there are plenty of options for burgers, and with my grain-free diet, we do not eat bread. I was able to order my burger with a fried egg on top. This definitely helped. Even so, it was about $18 for a burger with no bread. The quality of the meat is pretty good and you can order your heat preference. We've been there twice, but we will probably not be going back.

Ate here prior to a Ray's game. It was great! Limited seating, great wings & burgers. Would definitely visit again and recommend!

Food was outstanding. The variety of specialty burgers was great. Curly fries were a bit overdone but good, I will order the regular fries next time we visit they were excellent. Really good beer tap list for everyone especially craft beer drinkers.

Great selection of unusually topped burgers. The burgers themselves were very good. The prices were good for a quality burger with good toppings. Really not much more than McDonald's. About $14 for a great burger and a side is included.

Worst service I’ve had downtown in a long time. Sat at high top near bar. Came in when it wasn’t busy but got busier a few minutes after we sat down. Brought water and menus but took 6-7 min to get a Coke. Another 7-8 minutes to order because she was changing tv channels for people that just walked in and wanted to watch something specific. Asked for a straw and she walked past me three times without it. Good came and asked the person who brought food for a straw. Overheard me and told them she’d get it. Took 2 seconds. Food was delicious!!! Finished and it took another 10-12 minutes to get and pay the bill. With so many places to eat here, to me service need to stand out and not be subpar.

The place was extremely tiny and filthy, I walked in with my family and was told by the bartender to “sit where ever we wanted” however, on proceeding to do so an another employee started yelling at us saying she had others waiting and we were to sit by the bar (how were we to know that), They had no visible sign indicating the procedure to be seated or a waiting area, plus WE WERE TOLD TO PROCEED. Anyway, I was actually relieve she was so rude because it gave me an excuse to leave. It didn’t look like anywhere a human should be eating. We checked out a few other restaurants that were equally as busy. None of which were as busy or had such poor service.

Engine 9 was delicious. My family and I went in, and sat at the bar. The four of us ate the wings and had burgers. The wings were delicious 🤤 they said they were hot but not. They were just right. We had the wine-o buffet and the Demi burger. 10/10 for each. Cooked to perfect medium and over all just great. Will be returning!! Best burgers we had in a while.

The Burgers here are legit! If you’re a party of two they have a lot of seating and a fantastic wrap around bar. If you’re a party of four or five you’re in the back and expect a wait, more than five go elsewhere this is a very small space which is part of the charm. Service is OK but not the greatest but it’s not a fine dining experience either so don’t get too worked up about that. The Burgers are top notch, borderline too much flavor which is amazing, pencil fries are probably from a bag. Prices are extremely fair for the amount and quality. This is not our first and it won’t be our last visit.

I’ve been coming to Engine for the last 4 years and it’s always amazing. The consistency is key here because in this area chefs fall off left & right, leaving much to be desired by the patrons. The Demi-god is possibly the best burger I’ve ever had. The hot dog with sauerkraut is to die for & finished with a cold beer or wine, just unbeatable. Will always suggest this place to anyone new to the area.

Everything was great, food, bartenders and the atmosphere. We just moved here from New Orleans, so seeing some of the NOLA inspired names on the menu really helped my homesickness. My only problem was how hot it was in the building, maybe add more air conditioning or fans?

Three of us went for lunch, each ordered a custom burger. One Bad Pig, one bacon cheeseburger, one Bokar. All ordered our burgers medium rare. Every burger came out well done. No point in sending something back if the kitchen is that messed up. Dry City. So sad because I know this place is great. Not this day.

Really yummy and well made burgers. Had the saint with ghost pepper cheese and didn’t even need the bun. Entire table got their meals fast and everything was accurate. Really pleasant to learn that all the meat is grass fed and finished. Our waiter Chase was extremely attentive despite many tables. Will return when in Tampa.

Went here for an early Mother's Day. I was soo excited to go since all the pictures looked fantastic! We went around 3 pm and got seated in the back. It was dimly lit which was a little off putting, but it was okay. I was still excited to be there. Food came and it tasted great! I had the one thra had the chicken tender along with a hash brown patty and drenched in gravy. As we were still there though waiting for boxes and the check we noticed something on the ground that was moving. Since it was so dark in the corner - you couldn't really tell what it was. As we're about to leave I see this massive cockroach walking up the wall directly behind our table. I was literally praying that it didn't accidentally fall and land on one of us. As we were walking out it was still crawling around on the back wall walkings it's way to the next table. I told our waitress as we were walking out. She started walking back there so I don't know what happened to it afterwards. A restaurant is not a place you want to see a massive palmetto bug crawling around. Great food, but we won't be back and those leftovers got tossed. 🥺

If you're in St. Petersburg (or nearby!) FL and your belly is bugging you for a burger - this is the place. The burgers are big, brawny and delicious with names to match their stature: XXX Burger (Cheddar Cheese, Barbecue Sauce & Jalapeño Bacon. Served on Pretzel Roll); Black Flag (Cajun spices, Blackened & topped with Pepperjack Cheese, Jalapeño Bacon, Fire Roasted Red Peppers and Franks Red Hot Sauce); Demi-God (Cheddar, Swiss, Sautéed Mushrooms, Caramelized Onions & Horseradish Mayo) and my choice (recommended by the waitress) Wine-O (Red Wine BBQ Sauce, Bacon, Aged White Cheddar & Fried Onions). There are plenty more and plenty of wonderful side dishes but try the tater tots. It's hearty food with hockey motif (owned by legendary hockey family the Esposito's). You can't go wrong with eight ounces of Prime Black Angus beef - then let Engine 9 works its creative combinations of yummy...

Highly recommended as the Burg's best burger, and it's no question as to why: you will simply not find a more creative and delicious way to have one made for you. Engine No. 9's menu becomes more and more exciting as you read each entree's description and ingredients, making you wish you could try them all. My "Resurrected" burger was phenomenal, and the mashed habanero pepper was an especially fiery touch. Excellent beer selection and reasonably priced too!

Coll and casual little downtown spot, lots of beers on tap, extensive burger menu and some very attractive entree's as well. Service was exceptional, friendly and very attentive. Great place for a budget dinner and beer before a Ray's game or expensive trip in downtown St Pete!

My boyfriend ordered the ‘black flag’ burger, and I had the caprese salad. The burger was excellent, but the caprese was quite disappointing. The tomato was a mealy beefsteak (c’mon, at the very least do a vine ripened tomato!), the mozzarella pearls were bland and tasteless, the pesto was unremarkable (and super oily), and the balsamic. Oh god, the balsamic. It was so awful, I got up and spit it out. The fact that we paid $12.95 for this is embarrassing. We’ll be back, but just for burgers.

I’ve been here a couple times before and this time I got the Wine-O burger. Let me tell you, it was so good!! It reminded me of the rodeo burger from BK but obviously an elevated and better quality version. Our waitress was nice and overall we just had a pleasant experience! I highly recommend!!

Burgers are solid, it's been a reliable place for a while. It can sometimes be a little bit of a wait depending on when you go. It's also a little cramped but for a small place they really do well.

Food was excellent. Had the Black Flag burger. Delicious with the combo of the hot sauce. They have many types of drafts and craft brewing options. Service is friendly and prompt. Looking forward to trying out some other menu offerings.

i dont know why i came back here again...suppose a friend suggested it. this kitchen sucks. my "van helsing burger" had rubbery slimy bacon, cold, wet, "roasted" garlic, clearly from a jar, thrown on it, and it was lazily assembled. if i werent with friends, ida just sent it back. please go elsewhere. my bacon was also sitting in ketchup when the dish was presented. i hate ketchup. i know this is a stupid complaint, but it made me angry. my previous review: staff was nice, food not very. burger had cool toppings and all but the bun completely fell apart by the time we got to the end. the jerk short ribs on tortollini was pretty bad. it felt like meat swimming in a creamy jerk sauce soup, which didnt even taste like jerk..it was too sweet and tangy. just an awful dish.

The food was good ! The bathrooms were clean ! The service was slow and the server didn’t seem to want to be there . For example when I asked a question about the menu she gave me a bit of attitude and made me kinda feel like I was unwanted there . We also waited a bit before we even got our order .
