We went to dinner and sat by the wine section. When you walk in you notice and odd smell that gets stronger the further you go in and come to realize it’s mold and mildew. Completely covered on the ceiling over us and on the speaker in corner. Advised the staff and they just acknowledge that yeah we know sorry about that. Eventually it’s so over powering we had to ask to be moved to another area. No on apologizes for the issue or thinks appropriate to not sit paying guests under it. The steaks came out over cooked and dry and they stated well it’s hard to get exact… at 70+ dollars per steak you can’t cook to proper degree? Very disappointing experience for spending $400 on dinner.

Rococo Steak, is a restored former YWCA building in St. Petersburg, Florida, showcases an exquisite French Rococo style and design aesthetic. Renowned for its exceptional culinary offerings, the restaurant prides itself on serving premium Allen Brothers Beef sourced from Chicago. Recently, four of us had the pleasure of dining at this establishment, and upon our arrival, we were graciously welcomed by the doorman and promptly introduced to our hostess. She then kindly escorted us to our reserved table. The thoughtfully designed layout of the restaurant ensured a conducive and comfortable atmosphere for our table conversations. We unanimously decided on steak, opting for the tender fillet and the flavorful New York strip. Each steak was expertly prepared to our desired temperature, and the sommelier's wine pairing recommendations proved to be remarkably accurate and complementary to our meal. While our server demonstrated competence, there was a slight misunderstanding when they were explaining the distinction between Angus beef and prime-rated beef. Additionally, a touch more discretion could have been exercised when approaching our table. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable dining experience, and we departed with great satisfaction from the exceptional meal and ambiance. Rococo Steak will rank highly on my list of fine steakhouses.

The food was Delicious and the service was nice. When I first walked in I smelt an overwhelming smell of what I thought was a woody smell and it was making it hard for me to breath. At first I did not know what it was until we were seated at our table and I looked up and saw black all on the ceiling of the wall and then I realized it was black mold that I was smelling. If you have any breathing issues this is sure not going to be good for you. I don't have any breathing issues and had a hard time breathing. This was my only issue everything else was great.

My husband and I had an early dinner tonight at Rococo’s. Let me start with the good first. We had the crab fritter as an appetizer and it was delicious. Desert was the lavender cheese cake, very good as well. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. Now for the main course, I had the Wagyu steak, what a disappointment. It was very salty, so I had to send back. The second one was just not good at all. The flavor wasn’t there, it was very bland and almost all fat. This is a very expensive steak, $165 I think it was. Wasted money. My husband and I spent over $500 and sadly I am hungry and disappointed. I expected the steak to be much better. I have had much better steaks at much cheaper steakhouses.

Every time I'm in a nice steakhouse I get the Filet. My buddy and I both ordered the Prime Filet. It was done perfectly and was amazing. Every time I come back to St. Pete I am eating here. The place is nice without being stuffy. You don't need to dress up but you wouldn't feel overdressed if you did. I cancelled my reservation at Bern's to come here. Bern's is also great also but definitely more formal.

Incredible! The New York strip steak was cooked to perfection and the mushrooms recommended by our serving were absolutely delicious. We came here for my 32nd birthday! And topped the night off with their lavender cheesecake, donuts (the espresso chantilly cream that comes with this is amazing even next day) and espresso. I loved the pace of the meal and the privacy we were given to really enjoy our time together and savor the food and experience.

Even at an affordable price point they put a lot of care into the food that was served to us and the cocktails were delicious. We even decided to splurge and get the pork belly and strawberry short cake to go with our appetizers. Both were incredibly delicious 🤤 I’ve never had a strawberry short cake so good in my life.

They comped my steak which I appreciated and not expected and they went even more above and beyond and gifted our table with their top 4 delicious desserts. We went there for our anniversary and they immediately sat us, acknowledging it was and congratulating us which was sweet. Unfortunately, we were sat in the room adjacent to the hostess stand which felt like we were sitting in a waiting room. It was dark and dingy with reproductions of Van Gogh art work on the wall. Nothing special or intimate about that experience. Very disappointing and we were completely overdressed for that room. My husband ordered a smoked old fashioned which when presented was covered with an oversized metal plate. Super tacky. Because it didn't aerate properly as with a smoker, the smoke sat on the drink a long time making it sooty. My Hive gin with honey and lemon was excellent. Appetizers were disappointing. I had the lobster ceviche which really didn't taste like a ceviche served with a dried seaweed toast which was inedible. My husband had the oysters. He shrugged when I asked him how it was. The steaks were fantastic and cooked to perfection. Originally being from Chicago, they did their Anderson meats proud. The mushroom side was excellent. We got a complimentary dessert to share for our anniversary. It was just ok. There's lots of great steak restaurants in the Tampa/St Pete area so I probably wouldn't go back here.

Lovely atmosphere, amazing service. The side dishes, appetizers, and drinks were phenomenal, but I found the steak surprisingly mediocre. I went all in on the dry-aged porterhouse for a special occasion, a $175 cut, and was left very underwhelmed. Maybe I'm unfamiliar with restaurant practices for high end steak, but I was bewildered seeing my steak brought to the table cut and cooked off the bone...? It allowed for an admittedly impressive crust to be formed around all the choice sections but the umami flavor I was told to expect wasn't really there, nor was the exceptional tenderness that is characteristic of a premium dry aged cut like this. The seasoning of the crust was minimal, yet nicely balanced, but I would think that would be purposeful to accentuate the flavor of the meat itself. In my own experiences of cooking steaks, it's my understanding that cooking the cuts with the bone included is meant to impart flavor and even cooking through the meat. It wasn't dry by any standard but having it pre-cut into slices for the presentation must have caused it to lose much of its juice. I'll admit to not having much experience with dry aged meat and don't have many others to compare it to, so take this with a grain of salt, but for the money-I can't in good conscience say that cut was worth it. In all other aspects, a delightful place I will be coming back to often.

So, the location isn't special and the interior sorta smells musky. However, what they lack in atmosphere was more than made up for in the quality of food and service. We had their prime filets in rare plus, medium rare, and medium (my wife....l shook my head while she ordered). All were exceptional. The mashed potatoes are ridiculously good. Better than Bob Evans and Bob has some of the best. We ordered the east coast oysters as an appetizer. It came with a vinegar based side that was infused with peppercorn and onion. A perfect compliment. I've been to Union Oyster House in Boston and that wasn't as good.

Food was ok at best, for a 110$ steak I would expect at least a decent cook in it for medium rare and that wasn’t even met. On top of that our server (can’t remember his name) was completely rude and arrogant to me and my mother knowing that we weren’t gonna run up a 500$ tab. Nothing about the food was necessarily wrong but it also wasn’t outstanding especially for the price. Several of the dishes were just missing something. If I pay $95 for a steak, it should be juicy and perfectly cooked. It was too charred and overall a little dry. The bone marrow was probably the worst I’ve had (again not that it was very bad, but reallllyyy not worth the price point). Cocktails were eh. We wanted to have a nice dinner while on vacation, fully expecting to pay over $300, but we wanted it to be something we couldn’t make better at home for that price point. Our server was great. The ambiance is a little stuffy. If you’re someone that really likes to cook and is good at it, you won’t be impressed here.

Nice location, plenty of parking. Services is on point. Menu has a lot of choices. Apptz were great, crab fritter and Ahi Tuna. Nice steak selection with some 45 day dry age choices. Lots of sides to pick from. Bar seating is very loud so not an intimate setting if your seated in bar area, might want to reserve seating outside bar if you'd like a quiet meal. Drink selections were unique and full bar options makes it nice. The old fashion choice was very good. Atmosphere 4-star selection is based on humidity levels and old church smell, which quickly left after front doors were opened 30x to bring in more guests. We all thought it reminded us of an old church but then we're told it's an old funeral home. Place gets packed quickly so make a reservation. Food and Service were great. Might be some ghosts in here as well, so definitely a unique setting that's worth trying. You'll enjoy.

Dining experience started off very questionable and should have left. Started with an order for elk and 10 - 15 minutes later I was told the entree elk was not available. Requested a courtesy from the waitress for the manager to visit the table, which he did, recommended lamb vs elk, REALLY??? Requested a courtesy on the $170 porterhouse steak cost because the elk was not available. He politely declined but provided a courtesy on the soup. The steak arrived and was definitely overcooked, requested medium rare plus. I was not going to ask for any courtesy (did not want to appear cheap), but my party at the table said I should request because the steak was definitely overcooked, fatty and definitely not appealing. The waitress took back the mostly uneaten steak to the manager. Per the waitress, the manager looked at the uneaten steak (see attached picture. You be the judge, think about it, I paid $170 and for that steak!!! Never again!) with no revisit by the manager. Service runner returned the steak in a paper bag with no apology and no courtesy from management. The restaurant was definitely not busy, so no excuse for the steak preparation. The soup, potatoes, green beans and the other meals turned out well. When the check came, we even had to ask for the split check. Initially, the bill came in one check. Overall, simply did not meet expectations. Recommend another location for your dining pleasure.

This place does not ROCK!! Visited the restaurant during a recent visit to beautiful St.Pete. When you entered the place it is luxurious…well appointed. However, when you sit down things fall apart quickly. Lobster bisque arrived…lukewarm and tasteless… Caesar Salad was definitely from a nearby supermarket where you get a bag with all the ingredients…lousy. The pork chop dish besides being very expensive,$48.00,it was Ok…Although the waiter was told no hot spices due to allergies…this dish was surrounded by spicy food. Same story for the salmon dish. The rib eye steak was good, however the fries and green beans plates terrible. When finished with the above horrific meal…did not dare to order dessert! Just ran for the exit! The waiter seemed very intimidated by the questions and feedback…he hid most of rhe time. This place is not even close to the old grandad of steak houses Peter Luger!

As part of our "mini-moon" stay in St. Pete, we decided to dine at Rococo Steak ... one of many good decisions we made! It was our first visit. We arrived to find a charming atmosphere, a welcoming staff, and an engaging sommelier. My bride dined on steak (in accordance with the name), and I enjoyed their Market Fish (black grouper w/ shrimp). Both were excellently executed and the side dishes were equally delicious (corn mash, green beans ... but not your mother's green beans, roasted carrots rubbed in what tasted like a cinnamon and bay seasoning blend). Will, the sommelier, did an excellent job of guiding our selection from the generous wine list, matching a wine perfectly to our description of what we were hoping to find. All factors combined to make for a true feast for the senses!

First time going here after eyeing it for about 3-5 years. Unfortunately I don't think we will be returning. Overall, the food is overpriced for the quality and atmosphere. Prices at this establishment do not align with the quality of food compared to others with the same; for example, two persons cost in the $250-300 range which is/was equivalent to costs at Bern's steakhouse (which offers way MORE and is actually cheaper); we spent about an hour here, was not really interested in staying longer, bar seats in the area were way too low for the tables, I felt like I needed a high chair and I'm average 5'8 height, as is my GF. 1 hour at this establishment for $250-300 compared to the experience at Bern's which provides 2-3 hours of experience MIN. I just can't justify recommending this steakhouse to others when there are much better options for both quality of food, ambiance and costs. This place is $95 for the BEST (it was mid) 16oz Ribeye - ala cart Bern's - All steaks except the 30 Oz Porter ($112) are cheaper ($86 or lower) which include onion soup, salad, baked potato, onion rings an veggie not to mention the experience with Bern's and a kitchen/wine cellar tour included if you wish; plus the Dessert room bonus if you go that way. This place needs to align price points to what it reflects, personally I wouldn't recommend to others as there are way better and cheaper options at a fair price point. As far as steak houses go, this place is presenting itself as luxury and amazing when in reality it is actually just MID. Go to Bern's or save your money and go to a cheaper steakhouse that aligns quality with price...Outback, Long Horns, 1200 Chophouse, Beau an Mo's.

This is a place to go on a special event, birthday anniversary, valentines Day, or if you just want to splurge on deliciously great food. Every time I go, they knock it out of the park.

Dry, overcooked steak. Paid over $100 for it. Showed it to the waitress and she replied “hopefully the rest of the meal was to your liking”? Then, offered for us to take it home. We politely emailed the management and called after. No follow up. They could care less. Go somewhere else.

Usually a good experience but not last time. Bar server error seemed annoyed we were there, food was 5 outta 10. I could be harder but we've had better experiences in the past.

My husband and I visited for a dinner meeting with about 12 people. While my fillet was excellent, the mashed potatoes and broccolini that came with it were just lukewarm. I would have requested they be replaced, but I didn't want to disrupt the meeting. Also, the chocolate torte was the smallest slice of cake I've ever seen. The service was fine, but I was not impressed with the atmosphere. The ladies room on the first floor was quite small, and the floor was so sticky that I felt my shoes sticking the rest of our visit.

Overall, I would say it was a middle of the road experience. I asked the hostess if we could be seated at the full booth that was open as opposed to the half booth and was told the full booth was reserved. From the time we sat down until we left, nobody was ever seated at that full booth. Not quite sure what that was about. Our server, Nick, was awesome and very attentive. The food was good but nothing really blew us away especially considering the prices. We appreciated the complimentary dessert for my father’s birthday (applie bread pudding with cinnamon dusted ice cream). I think entrees should definitely include a salad and a side with the prices you pay.

First off, the service was excellent. The food was particularly good. The wine was very good. It's a bit pricey but fine for special occasions.

Great atmosphere, great food and service. Danny, our server this past Sun. ( Jan. 28), was knowledge of the menu when asked about certain items. 👍

Good service and food but it has the vibe of a transformed funeral home which it is. May have been better if there when they have a full house. Felt too big and roomy for an intimate dinner.

Ordered a Prime Rib-eye as it was supposed to be more tender than the Choice- pretty sure they served us a NY Strip. It was chewy and tasteless.

Ordered 2 steaks and some chops (cant remember the meat, they didnt have lamb so we went for something else instead). None of them were cooked to order. The chops were way too rare, and both steaks were overcooked(medium and well done when we both ordered medium rare). Even sent one back and the new one was terrible too, cooked way too fast and too hot. Grey on the edge, cold in the middle and not rested. All in all terrible experience for the money. Atleast the sides were OK.

Too cold for the patio so we sat at the bar - bartender made new drink "Titos and Tea" with appetizers and great steak served fast but perfect. Saw a show at the Floridian down the street - great new memories - Thanks Rococo

Our waiter was exceptional, explaining the history or Rococo, and each item on the menu. He answered all our questions. He was so attentive without being intrusive. The food was perfect, cooked to perfection for all four of us. There was not one item we ordered that wasn’t delicious.

Went for Happy Hour and sat at the bar as this is the only place they serve HH. Very nice bartenders and staff at door. HH drinks are only discounted by $1 for glass of wine, and by $3 for a few signature mixed drinks. Nice atmosphere for an older crowd, but we will make this a one and done for HH; lots of other fine options in the area that give a better discount.

Filet was delicious and cooked perfectly. Ribeye had very little marbling and was under seasoned. Truffle fries (which we normally love) were very dry and came with no dipping sauce (they don’t even have ranch), which I’ve never seen. We are “baked potato with a steak” people, and they don’t even offer one. We also had the mushrooms…well cooked and seasoned but be aware they are portobellos, which I’ve never seen as a side with steaks. Too meaty for us, we prefer a lighter mushroom with a thick steak. The Wedge salad is super small and needed either more BC dressing and/or a good balsamic drizzle. French onion soup was meh. I’ve had much better. We shared the chocolate torte for dessert (usually our favorite). They are always a bit dry as expected, but usually come with a drizzle of raspberry or strawberry sauce. It had a couple of whole berries instead and no fresh crème on it, so not exceptional. Service and ambience was wonderful. Overall we always have a good time, but we’re very disappointed. We keep trying to find the perfect steakhouse, and for those prices, we expected so much better. It’s gonna be back to Ruth’s Chris for us I guess in this area anyway. It’s always pretty perfect. It was super expensive (which we don’t care, if everything is consistently delicious. So for us, it’s on to the next one. Moving here from a state with many excellent steak places, it’s been quite a challenge to find a regular spot for a great steak.

Wow ! What an incredible experience ! From the moment we walked in till we left everyone was friendly, professional and personable. Our waiter, Ron was so knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. Everything he suggested was delicious and perfectly prepared. We had a Pork belly appetizer, Norwegian Elk, a steak filet, parmesan crusted fries, creamed spinach and for dessert a blonde brownie with chocolate and a cheesecake with lavender ,honey, earl Grey. I know I didn't describe our entries correctly but the entire meal was a delight. Please see the online menu and then go and enjoy a wonderful dining experience. Thank you and we will be back.

5/5 easy. We came on a Friday night with some coworkers, great wine, the scallops were awesome, I had the elk (also great), and the broccolini, cream corn, and the truffle fries were awesome. Our server was also great. They do not have a large parking lot so keep that in mind Thursday - Sunday. I would absolutely return.

Our server was acting very strange. Almost like he was high on something and we had to repeat our order over and over. Food came out wrong after we ordered it a specific way. He didn’t come visit our table very often to refill our drinks. He nor the manager came to apologize about our food mistakes. I had to ask another waitress to send my food back.

This was our first time dining at Rococo Steakhouse. We found the bar drinks to be amazing. The bartender and staff were friendly and knowledgeable when we inquired about the menu, liquors, and history of the restaurant. We ordered 2 steaks for dinner and enjoyed them very much, along with 2 side dishes. The steaks were delicious. Overall, we enjoyed our experience. Good decor and vibe throughout the restaurant, also.
