Fried shrimp was the best we have eaten anywhere! Virginia our beautiful waitress was great! I’d go back just to see her!!

Great place right by the water! Family friendly. Does smell a bit fishy, so if that bothers you, eat inside! The kids loved eating out on the screened deck!

Hole in the wall seafood spots are always # 1 to me ! Grouper plate was large, 4 pieces of grouper, i had green beans, they had ham hock and onions in them. Taste like home made ! Hush puplies were great so was the sweet tea, atmosphere is cool and chilled out, outdoor dining deck gices a nice view of the water, service was great ! For sure coming back. 1 down side is they are not dog friendly, but understandable seeing as the only way to the dining deck is through the front door, who wants a dog walking through the dining room. Love the place, passed by for years finally stopped in. You wont regret giving them a shot !!!!

Omgoodness, get the sea monster po boy, it has grouper, scallops, and shrimp. It was amazing! Waitress wax wonderful.

My husband and I stopped here on the way to St. George Island Labor Day weekend. We got our table and waited a bit for our drinks and server to take our order. We.stsrted with the fried green tomatoes. They were brought out in a basket with no plates and no sauce or anything to dip them in. When our server finally came back to take our order I asked for plates and ranch and she seemed like that was a complete inconvenience. We ordered our food and it came out relatively quickly. My husband ordered fried snapper (I beleive) and it was over cooked and on the Berge of being burnt. I had the hamburger steak. It was very good smothered with cheese, gravy, mushrooms and onions. It was a very large portion. There is a service charge for paying with a card which is not ideal when pretty much everyone pays with a card and prices were already high, but everywhere in the area seems to do the same thing. Over all we wouldn't stop here again and probably wouldn't recommend it to others. Decent in a pinch.

I was very disappointed, have eaten here many times and it's been good, but this time, hamburger steak was like two frozen hamburger patties stuck together, very tough in the server never asked how I wanted it cooked, mashed potatoes were instant potatoes, and the server never came back to the table after putting our food out.

Had a great couples dinner mid week. No crowds in mid late August. Great setting on the screened porch looking out across the bay. Shrimp crabcakes oysters and onion rings and slaw were served and the seasonings and sauces were great. Be aware the yum yum is has more bite than you might expect. Prices are reasonable with good variety options on the menu. We arrived a little too close to closing time and thankfully they left the lights on while we finished and they cleaned up. Glad to go back and enjoy another meal.

I almost turned around as I approached the door due to the political signs. I don’t live here so don’t know which party they’re supporting and don’t care. Politics has no place in a well-run business. That said, I enjoyed a nice lunch of a grouper sandwich with fries. The grouper was real grouper unlike we get in Orlando. The fries were good. The sandwich bun was meh… Virginia was sweet and efficient. I sat on the porch overlooking the bay. Beautiful.

Kind of worn around the edges. Outdoor seating was our preference. Lots of fans. And arrive before 5 for best seating as it gets busy after 5:30 on a Tuesday!Fortunately we had the friendly server. She was pleasant and precise! 6 in our group and gratuity was applied by the business.

A 50 year old blonde would not let my service dog come in. Very rude I’ll never go back. I’ve been coming here for 8 years. Looking to retire here. But will never go back there. Bad business!!!!!!

Food was good but not enough grouper for the money. My 1 piece of fish looked like a half a piece of fish. More breading than fish. Staff was nice though.

We were staying on St George Island and this is definitely the most bang for your buck as far as food=money. We got the platter for two. More like platter for four! Everything was delicious and plentiful. You MUST take the short drive from the island to this slice of heaven.

Nice little restaurant with great food. Took a little time to get our food but they did tell us it would. Really wasn't that long but it was well worth the wait. Prices aren't bad either. Definitely would go back.

The service was absolutely terrible! I went with my family for dinner. Our waitress was barely any help. Most of the staff was on their phones with the cashier having headphones on and not speaking to the customers and the hostess being on her phone as soon as we walked in. She told us to sit wherever we wanted without ever making eye contact. Then when we couldn’t get ahold of our waitress we stopped another, she said “you know I’m not your waitress, right?” Then after dealing with the horrible service they charge a 20% gratuity fee and a 3% card fee. It was not worth the money spent, and no one should act this way in customer service!

First time customer and we'll be back. Had the seafood platter broiled with fried mushrooms as an appetizer. Summer was our sever and we had excellent service. Food was perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Always eat here when in area on vacation. Small but good and like the outside seating by water. Fried oysters and shrimp #1!

Been awhile but FC still on top of it..food, service, view..you won't be disappointed.

I have passed by here too many times and finally stopped in. I was more than impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant, the value for the food and the view! We ordered the shrimp basket with mash potatoes, the yum yum (?) shrimp dinner with green beans and the fried crab cake sandwich. All were delicious and filling. The sides were very down home southern sides in the best way. We will be going here any time we stay at Coastline RV Resort.

We showed up with a party of 15. For a Birthday Party dinner. Everything was perfect! Our waitress Ashley was fun and was very attentive. Our food was awesome! My husband and I had the bacon-wrapped stuffed shrimp and it was phenomenal! Please support this small business!!

Am I upset I didn’t eat the 80$ in food I ordered . Yes. Am I upset your server told me I didn’t have my id before asking me for my id. Yes. That’s why I walked out on my tab. And I didn’t eat a damn bite. Check your severs teach them respect. And maybe I’ll be back

Meh. Crab cakes were not good. Slaw was gross.oysters were ok. Waitress seemed overwhelmed or just didn’t care.

We're new to the area and stopped in on a whim. Glad we did! The food is superb and the staff very attentive. And not just seafood. Today's desserts were peanut butter cheesecake, key lime pie, and coconut creme pie.

This place has it all, great food-wonderful staff-amazing location-salad bar. 🤩

The food is the same I feel that they should start moving to another place like st George island where they can add more rooms where they can start an buffet where people can come in and make there own food also they should make rule where parents with small children should be allowed to cut up while other people are eating the music should be turned off while other people are talking to each other also they need to start charging the menu too like spaghetti and meatballs grilled chicken sandwiches sub sandwiches like turkey meatballs roast beef also start serving Chinese food like sushi

This is not a fancy restaurant but the view is pretty and the food is good and affordable! We had the Shrimp Basket, fries, corn nuggets, fried okra, and the salad bar. The waitresses are sweet and food comes out very timely. You can eat inside or sit outside in the screened porch and enjoy the view. We ate there twice, once inside and once outside.

Snapper Imperial caught my eye & my 17yo son shared it with me for lunch, it was delicious (but Alfredo sauce was a tad salty). My wife had the Mini Seafood Platter and loved it. In fact we are here twice in the same week! Fried shrimp also delicious. Great view over the water. I would recommend lunch over dinner, less crowd and cost.

I ordered grilled shrimp & scallops. They definitely were not grilled, I believe the shrimp was boiled, scallops were cold and had no taste.

Great little roadside Seafood restaurant with outdoor seating. The food was great with large portions. The staff were very friendly as well. Sitting outside was nice with the view of the ocean.

Stopped in again 04/06/24 and again very happy with service and food. You get plenty of food and all the waitresses are very professional and friendly. You can bring in your catch and have it prepared for you 👍🏾😁. The busboy was on the ball. He never stopped 🤙🏾😊 I would recommend stopping with your family. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Reasonably priced. Some of the best fried green tomatoes we have had. The calamari and fried mushrooms appetizer I would recommend. The sweet tea was crazy good. Man!!

There was 5 of us. 4 of our food was excellent. The 5th person got Oscar grouper. The grouper was like rubber and chs grits were very bland. I give it a 5 bc the other 4 peoples plate were great!

Update - we went there again today & waited for 40 minutes & they never took our drink order. Wasn’t even that busy. There was a lot of empty tables. We left. There’s plenty of seafood places on the area that have way better service. Food was so good. everything was delicious. . Great oysters. Great staff and friendly atmosphere. Enjoyed eating out on the deck. Very family friendly. Will be back for sure.

Fantastic shrimp with grits and premium snapper dishes! They seem pricey, but for the amount of food and flavor, 100% worth it. Very friendly staff as well.

We were the only ones sitting inside and I could see no reason that it took over 45 minutes for our meals to arrive. After they arrived I noticed that they nearly dripped of Grease. Everything I had that was fried was terribly greasy. The salad bar was wilted and in great disarray. We did not have a good experience and I don't think we will be going back..

What a great find! Saw this place and turned around...sure glad I did! Sat on their deck for a great lunch with wonderful view.

Way overpriced for below average food

Grouper was overcooked, tasteless, and room temperature. Salad bar lettuce not fresh. Oysters and scallops tiny/no taste. Green beans were good! Server was hard working and polite.

They seemed a bit understaffed the day we were there....waitresses distracted, mixed up order, slow to refill drinks.

Our waitress was also the drink maker. She was amazing at both. She was attentive, friendly, and made the dinner experience pleasurable. I just wish I could remember her name to give her props. We will definitely come back just because of our experience with her. The food was great. I just wish the seasoning had a little more kick on my shrimp. Calamari was great. The mix drinks were on point. The view from the porch is amazing! 10 out of 10 for sure.

The food was cold and very bland...

Enjoyed our dinner. I had the stuffed bacon shrimp and my friend had the scallop dinner grilled. Nice salad bar, good hot baked potato. Staff was very nice. Place is small and gets crowded. Price is in line with today’s seafood prices.

We really enjoyed our dinner here. My wife had the Clam Strip dinner and she said it was very good. I had the Catfish dinner and it was excellent and a lot of it! The weakest thing was the fries but the rest was great. We’re only in town for a week but we are going again before we leave.

Wonderful! I had the lunch basket, fried clams and blackened scallops which were cooked perfectly. My side's cheese grits (very, very good.) The hush puppies are the best in the south. Prices are very good. The view is picture perfect.

-Sticky tables -Elementary school quality dishes -Batter isn't seasoned -$30 average per plate and you get....crinkle fries? That isn't the only thing on the menu that's frozen either. It's like they buy all ingredients from the grocery store's freezer section and are charging arm and leg for heating it up.

3 adults, 2 kids meals, +appetizer. Wasn't busy and it took 25 min to get a water, the waitresses acted like they were doing me a big favor to even take my order and we never saw them again after our food finally came out 45 minutes to an hour later (after we got our waters). But here is the kicker... they added on a 20% gratuity (tip) to the card without mentioning it, or having signs up, so they got a double tip from my 90 year old grandmother, making our tab (drinking waters) around $280 plus additional cash tip, for extremely sub par service. This was our 5th to 7th time here over the span of several years, and we kept coming back for the decent food, but the service has never been good or friendly. We won't be back after this experience, we have given enough chances.

Had dinner with friends and enjoyed some very fresh seafood. Fresh scallops, shrimp, grouper, snapper in an Alfredo sauce...soooo tasty. Very rich flavor, couldn't finish it all. Hush puppies were very good too. Unpretentious atmosphere, attentive server, and excellent food.

AUCE snow crab legs on Sundays after 4 p.m. right now. Crab legs were tasty. Salad bar is always fresh and full of a variety of veggies and toppings.

If I could camp on the back porch and eat here everyday, I would! The food is marvelous, the view is great, and the staff is darling! Thank you for a great lunch!

Our scallops were tender and delicious, as were the sides (cole slaw and mashed potatoes). The server was very pleasant and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely eat here again.

Best portions we have had for lunch.

We've been to Family Coastal before (several years ago), but found the service and food to be lackluster this trip. Our food was poorly cooked: an underdone baked potato for one of us and partially raw fish for the other. Our waitress was nice, but did not check on us after the food was delivered - in fact, she sort of disappeared after she dropped our food off. We also got one side wrong (a baked potato instead of corn nuggets). The radio station on blast was mostly talking, and it kind of killed the ambiance of trying to have a conversation with others at your table. All that combined with fairly high prices was disappointing - the food had potential to be great!

Server was friendly and food was good! Coleslaw was a little too sweet for my liking but overall a delicious meal! 👍👍

I had some family in town today (12/2/23), and they wanted fried oysters and bacon wrapped shrimp. So I took them to the Family Coastal. When we arrived, there were no one in the dining area accept management. We didn't get a greeting, however, mgmt was quick to let my cousin know he could not smoke on the deck, but failed to acknowledge them as patrons. It was a place of choice for after church lunch. I'm certain we can find a more friendlier atmosphere. Local, born and bread! Stephnia

Solid place. Cool view outside. Food was very good.

I used to always stop at the restaurant on my way to and from beach but it seems to really have went down hill. First off took us about 15 min to get a drink order and another 15 min to get the drink. Order the Mullet dip appetizer for 12.00 didnt get it until meal came so cancelled it...For 13.00 I got 3 shrimp, 2 pieces of fish that were supposed to be catfish wasnt and tasted like nothing.. paid an extra 5.00 for one trip to salad bar.. I don't know what happened to one of my favorite spots but I don't think I'll be back!!!!!!!

We always love this place. Friendly staff and good food with a great view from the back porch overlooking the Bay. One of the places around with baked potatoes. Try the fried green tomatoes.

The grouper sandwich and fried oysters were good. Hushpuppies and baked potatoes were warm, not hot. Salad bar was good but overpriced at $5. Service was adequate at best.

We came on a Sunday, and there weren’t many places open, those that were open were packed, but not this one. We were quickly seated, and grabbed paper towels on the table to knock off all the crumbs and flakes from the previous diner. They were out of all but two draft beers, so we settled for a non local-craft beer. The calamari, okra, hush puppies, and corn nuggets were very good, but what isn’t good fried? We ordered the choose three, grilled grouper, shrimp, and scallops. It was heavily seasoned with some red seasoning, and sitting in a lot of liquid. They tasted ok after removing some red stuff, but really didn’t seem grilled, more like baked or cooked in a pan to be sitting so much liquid. We weren’t impressed with the food, but the service was great. We even asked, “what homemade desserts do you have” and she grinned “none!” Wouldn’t go back, nothing shined to lure me back.

Drove over from the island to eat at family costal. After not receiving the correct entrée twice, we gave up and left. Paid for food and do not have to return. Having eaten there last year (which was very good) we were very disappointed

Very poor food quality and very poor overall service.

Idk how this place gets good reviews. This was some of the blandest seafood I ever had. The catfish was in indistinguishable from the grouper, the cheese grits were cold, the scallops were tiny, and the coleslaw was rubbish. I mean even the tartar sauce was pathetic. Basically the only thing that was not a total disaster was the hush puppies. The servers were nice but I tell you what, we ain't coming back here next time.
