Excellent service and food. Sat by the bar area on the south side.

Seafood had no seasoning and was bland. Felt unwelcomed as the waitresses acted annoyed that we came at an off hour.

Deanna was our server! So sweet and friendly! She recommended great food and made me and my sisters fantastic strawberry Margaritas! Terrific place to eat!

Food is awesome, typically so is the service, however today we got seated out in the band cave, and our server was not into serving the people she was assigned. We wanted to sit inside the main area and there was only one family in there, and she asked that we go out to this building so the other server can work. So we did, unfortunately our server sucked, we had to wait 10-15 minutes in between getting more crab legs, finally asked the male server for more, and he did her part and brought more without us having to ask or wait.

We all got the fried admiral platter...our sides came out cold, there was not flavor on any of the food. The stuffed crab had no crab in it that we could taste, it was so burnt just as the hush puppies were that it was a burnt nugget. We could not finish it it was so horrible. When we told the waitress, she went to get the owner and the owner never even came to our table...she told the waitress to offer us half off. If you serve badly prepared food than we shouldn't have to pay for it. Don't recommend this place at all. It's high priced garbage

Seafood was fresh and well prepared. Servers conscious and attentive to customers needs and desires. Very friendly . An absolute surprise was to learn this establishment has a byof (bring your own fish) service that if you bring your own catch of the day cleaned and ready to prepare they will prepare it for you. The particular dining area was smallish and though quaint, very loud for this reason I didnt feel totally comfortable , holding conversation with my friends and family seemed difficult and felt as though I had to raise my voice to be heard over the other diners. Worth the visit and I look forward to returning again, hopefully it want be as busy and noisy next time.

They had some of the best fried jalapenos and popcorn shrimp that I ever had. I wish I would have known about this place sooner. Thank you!

There were 11 of us visiting St George Island. We found this place and it did not disappoint. Our waitress Connie was very friendly and made our dining experience wonderful. The food was awesome. We had hamburgers to crab legs it was all good. The shrimp was my favorite best I’ve ever had. Crab legs were great too. Thank you!! We’ll be back !

My husband said the scallops were the best he has ever had! My crab legs were excellent. I would have personally liked them with more Cajun flavoring, and to have my butter hot/melted. The food was still excellent! The live band made it very enjoyable. There is a putt putt golf ⛳️ there. We will definitely go back!

We parked behind the restaurant and sat down at the Wheel House side (we didn’t see the “Main Deck” sign for main dining). There were 2 outdoor bathrooms that didn’t have ac but they were clean. There was live entertainment outside which was nice bonus but nothing to rave about either. We ordered frozen lime margaritas, queso w/ chips and coconut shrimp appetizers, and a kid’s cheeseburger. The frozen margaritas were not blended well… **I honestly think the Daily’s pre-made frozen cocktail pouches you can buy from the store have more flavor and a better consistency than these. The coconut shrimp were obviously some cheap frozen box brand… mediocre flavor and 100% not worth the price that they were. And after eating the coconut shrimp at the Up The Creek Raw Bar in Apalachicola… I realize just how flavorless the Red Pirate really is. The kids cheeseburger was just gross. I took a bite before my son did and I can’t believe a restaurant would actually serve these school cafeteria hamburger patty’s. So unless you plan to play miniature golf (which we did not), I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone until they serve food that didn’t come from the frozen aisle at the dollar store.

The service is excellent, but the food is not! The only things on the seafood platter I could eat were the shrimp and the clam strips. This is a "dog friendly " place.

Could not finish this food, as you can see, because it was some of the worst seafood I've had in years. I ate some of it because I was starving. It should be called Captain D's elevated 1 peg. Those crab cakes were most likely frozen Krab cakes. In fact everything tasted like it was frozen seafood. Nothing tasted like they have a chef who made anything from scratch. Skip this one! The only good thing about it was the service and they accommodated our dog. Our bill was $67 + tip. $81. The quality did not match the price.

This is exactly as the stars reflect, an ok visit. I had the steak and shrimp. The steak came on the cast iron griddle, so it keeps cooking after it's brought out to you, so i would order down a wellness. We were sat at the bar section and the non drinkers are not attended to as much as the drinkers. Just saying. Waited WAY too long for the correct drink and refills. The services did not match the $107 tab for a family of four.

The food, service, and atmosphere was fantastic. Popcorn shrimp was really good. Cocktail sauce and the chicken sandwich was delicious. We tried the bacon wrapped shrimp and it was utterly surprising how good the combination was. We had a party of 13 and everyone had positive things to say about this restaurant. Would definitely go back when we visit!

I ve tried this place twice but never again. If that was scallops they brought me they were horrible.

We’ve been coming to St. George Island for years now and this is our go to place for take-out. We give them a pretty large order every time and they always come through for us rather quickly. Can’t think of a time where something went wrong. Some of the best wings we’ve ever had. Awesome staff who deserve all the credit. Thank you guys for a great experience year after year!

Our party had a large take out order. The RP staff took the order over the phone and each item was completely correct and the entire order was ready very quick. The staff is always very polite and pleasant to interact with. Thanks Red Pirate!

We come here every year and it is usually very good. This time it was terrible. Was hard to order over the loud singer on the stage even though we were the only two people sitting on the patio. We got an appetizer of calamari, a kids cheese burger with a side salad and a seafood platter with shrimp and catch of the day fish(fried) with two sides. A water and a coke to drink. Total it was right at $60 for that. Had to tell the waitress they forgot the salad and our silverware. The burger was almost burnt and the fried calamari and fish and shrimp had zero seasoning. Not even a little salt. The fish was barely done. The coleslaw was basically shredded cabbage with a little relish in it. Very disappointed. Especially for how expensive it was. Will not be back.

Took forever it seemed for someone to take our order, when they finally did I Ordered the seafood platter with blackened scallops and stuffed crab. Huge disappointment, the stuffed crab was cold like it just came out of the refrigerator and the scallops were definitely nuked and they had no taste and were not blackened. They were out of grits and cole slaw so I ordered Mac and cheese and baked beans, at least the Mac and cheese was good. I have eaten the red pirate trailer several times and it was always good but this was the first time dining in and it will be the last. Huge disappointment....

I like most of the food I've eaten there but I've never been that crazy about their service. Every time I've gotten sides with my meals or baskets they've been cold or room temperature. We usually get seated right away and our server usually comes out to greet us in a reasonable amount of time along with taking our drink orders and returning them and getting our food orders. That's when it all starts to go south though and the service seems worse when they are not busy. You have to go get anything you've asked for including straws and refills and if you need something regarding your meal you can just about forget it. The atmosphere and friendliness and even most of the food is ok but because of the poor service and the kinda high prices we don't go there often.

You may not realize this coastal "seafood" restaurant is straight off the frozen Sysco truck if you are unfamiliar with seafood. Those prices are highway robbery! The best thing to do is to buy seafood at a fish market and cook it yourself. The old grease will make you sick and cost you money. Red pirate very disappointed 3rd visit and last. The 3 strikes rule attempts to give everyone a fair chance before leaving a review.

We enjoyed it tremendously! I ate the flounder sandwich. It was delicious 😋 our waitress Teri was very friendly and efficient!! The live band was great!

We love this place service is always great!! Food is always greasy, great selection, great portions. They have a little put put golf that the kids love!! Pretty cool for the adults as well.

Best burger on the island, here on vacation have tried a burger from all the restaurants here in Franklin. Captain Jack is by far hands down best one I've had here. Atmosphere was amazing service was amazing and when your finished we topped it off with 18 holes of putt putt

Visited on vacation 5/13/24. We ordered Shrimp Alfredo and A Captians Platter ( deviled stuffed crab, fried shrimp, fried bay scallops, fried clam strips, and fried fish) I think. Food was good quality and good portioning, we couldn’t even finish all of it at the restaurant. As far as service two older ladies were working and they just seemed miserable to be there. Sort of Pricey, but everything is nowadays.

Take out order on Sat. nite was wrong. They made up for it the next day with the most amazing caezar salad with grilled shrimp!! Awesome food!!

The raw and baked oysters were amazing! Gumbo was really thick and pasty, not my usual taste for gumbo. Ordered a skirt steak with vegetables and the steak tasted like a piece of charcoal, honestly the worst steak we've ever had at a restaurant anywhere even though the reviews stated how good they were 😬 We had amazing oysters and absolutely wonderful service and enjoyed thoroughly the island vibe atmosphere. Dipped in on a day trip, will do for the oysters again!

Had a really good meal here with the family. Service was great, but pricing is downright outrageous. I understand food prices have risen in recent years, but it shouldn't cost $9 for a kids meal compared to the $4 listed online from a recently uploaded menu. I don't expect to be paying beach front restaurant pricing at a casual, inland establishment. The food was tasty, and well prepared, don't get me wrong; I just need more from my $dollar at this point.

Came down for Thunder Beach bike rally and made the trip out to East Point cause our local friends said it would be worth the ride. And YES THEY ARE!!! Some of the best raw oysters I've EVER had. Will definitely return anytime I'm in the area.

I went to this restaurant for dinner while visiting St. George for the weekend. I waited at the hostess stand for nearly 10 to 15 minutes without being acknowledged. Eventually, a family walked up behind me and was seated immediately at the last available table. When they sat down, they acknowledged that I was there before them. I also made a point to inform the hostess/waitress that I had been waiting there long before they arrived, but she proceeded to call me a liar. Needless to say, we decided to take our business elsewhere.

Really good food here. Service was excellent. Love the atmosphere here. They have live music and putt putt. That's awesome. Highly recommend

The oysters were great!!! I recommend the gator bite. The hush puppies were the best we ever had.. loved that place and the ambiance! And really fast and great service for a Friday night.

Ever in East Point, drop in, especially on Friday evenings and Saturday for the live acoustic shops. We were able to catch Iron City Recording artist Dallas Wayne. He can cover some of the greats real well. Service is excellent. Bathrooms not so much.

We visited and ate at the bar a few times, but we decided to try the restaurant . I don't know if it was an off night, but we were not impressed. Our wait after we ordered was VERY long. The servers were almost hiding and hard to find even for a refill of drinks. I think they forgot my husband's Key Lime Pie and we had to ask about it twice!

Had a blast. Food was tasty, service was great. Atmosphere was fun if not a little crazy.. But still was mostly family friendly. Will be back!

*ALERT* Food Poisoning!!! Came down to the beach for Spring Break with the family. First night here we went and ate at Red Pirate. Service was awful and the server even admitted that they had severely underpreped. My food was the last to come out which should’ve been the easiest to prepare, blackened shrimp. All was well until several hours later where I spent the whole night throwing up with severe stomach pains. My whole trip was ruined due to this. Highly do not recommend!!!!

Fun sea side feel. Lots of good eats... wings, sea food, gator, frog legs. Mostly deck seating and a bar area (inside).

Our first visit started off rather well. As we had to go ask for utensils, wait for refills, and those did not happen until we were done with our meals. The coleslaw rasted like someone put cinnamon in it, and there was no mayo added. It was almost as if someone started making the coleslaw and did not finish the dish. The wings with the hot sauce were very good. The shrimp both fried and grilled were good as well as the scallops. The fried chicken sandwich was very good. It would've been 5 stars

Can in on a Friday night. Place was really busy but was seated right away. But my order in and was ready in less than 15 minutes. Had the fried shrimp with two sides. Shrimp was very good with a good portion. Coleslaw is very good. French fries were hot, all in all I give this place a thumbs up.👍

It is one of our favorite places to go when we are down in the area. They have great choices on their menu. Their mini golf area is wonderful, especially for kids. You will not be disappointed!

Definitely the best place anywhere close to Mexico Beach to eat. All the places in Mexico Beach aren't worth wasting your time. You're a lot better off traveling somewhere like this

Some of the best food we had while on our vacation. I had the catch of the day and a cold draft from Oyster City. The oysters were awesome also. We even played a round of putt-putt after the meal, Good times!

Updated review. Slow service ..The oysters were small and tasted horrible Sadly the price for the oysters added to the injustice. The food was lacking in flavor .. Definitely recommend eating at the Fiddler for quality and price.

So I have dined here several times and each time the place was packed. Really good food, a large menu of seafood and other delicious choices, and the service are very good also. Stop by and check them out!

My new go to -- Solid food, clean atmosphere, and polite staff. My steak was cooked as ordered and I love the green beans. Veggies in the salad were crisp and fresh. Keep it up, y'all -- I'll be back.

The staff at the bar are great. They are friendly and also remember that our dog wants a chicken breast. This is our go to place to eat.

We've eaten here many times. I got the Caesar salad with grilled chicken (my usual). Generally very satisfied. This time however, the chicken seemed a bit chewy/rubbery.

I had the Pirate Pearls oysters and they were plump and juicy and delicious. But what I really came to say is: Don't leave without ordering a slice of key lime to take home. Trust me, you don't want to be seen in public making the kind of faces you'll make when savoring every bite of this homemade pie. You will not want to share.

Baked potato looked and tasted like it had been cooked for several hours. Otherwise food was great. Raw oysters were delicious!

We didn't have to wait to be seated. The waitress was very friendly and attentive she took our drink order and didn't rush us to order our meals. The food was fresh and hot and very good with large portions . We would go back again and would recommend others to stop in and try Red Pirate Family Grill.

We were looking for a quiet place for date night. Red pirate was perfect calm atmosphere even though they were during dinner rush. Literally for all tables bit a couple being full it was so quiet and calm. Food was quick. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE GUMBO. OUR server was a male (didn't get his name) and was great. Extremely attentive

Calico jack (steamed) oysters are my go to for this restaurant!
