Got the half order of biscuits and gravy and a short stack with bacon. The gravy wasn't as thick as I like it, but the flavor was there. The short stack was way bigger than I thought it would be. It was all delicious even though I only ate half the pancakes. Worth walking 0.8 miles for.

So grateful we stopped here to eat. I have Celiac and they were very accommodating. Katlyn was so helpful, and patient as we tweaked my meal. I had grilled shrimp, no seasoning, and it was cooked to perfection! My family had the Friday catfish plate with sides, including peach cobbler. Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS! A must eat, if you're ever in the area!

This place has improved it's once slow service. After I placed my order, I think I waited 8-10 minutes, which is a huge improvement. The food here is always good and has that home made taste. I ordered the corned beef hash for the 2nd time in about a year. This time there just wasn't enough meat...there were plenty of potatoes, but only a few little meat bits scattered throughout. The flavor was on point, but the ratio of meat to potatoes was lacking. The biscuit was huge and perfectly made though. *Editing my review after two more experiences. A few months ago my husband and I came here for dinner. Hostess was completely engrossed in doing a task on the screen for about 10 minutes after she seated us without menus. Came to the table finally and asked us what we wanted. I said "I don't know. We weren't given menus." She looked embarrassed and apologized. Food was good that night though. This afternoon we went back for lunch. Wait staff was amazing. Fast to seat us and patient about giving us time to order. Food came out after about 10 minutes, looked amazing and tasted amazing. After about 5 experiences here, I'll summarize by saying the staff can be good or poor, depending on what time you go in. Food though is consistently high quality is home made.

Best barbecue I've had since I went to Fred Fleming's years ago. This is just the sliced pork and they barbecue it out back on their own smoker. I have had a combo platter with the beef the pork and it was by far the best barbecue plate I have ever had( But that is only offered every other Saturday check the Facebook page for daily specials.) But most often I come here with a friend for breakfast and it's about as good as any other excellent breakfast place but I only go to really good breakfast places; and this is one of them. One word : biscuit. I'm from Greenville and Greer South Carolina originally and I've had some good biscuits there so this one here at 1906 could be even better. If a breakfast doesn't come with a biscuit then I order it on the side. If I had one recommendation it would be to offer the biscuits as a bread choice all day long many southern-style restaurants do that and I can't imagine why this restaurant does not. Because they're so good I know people would be having them all day long

I made a call in order when I got there my order wasn't right and the person that waited on me was really rude and told me she was not going to argue with me over what I ordered or what I thought I ordered so I'm never going again.

The waitress was nice and capable. The atmosphere nice. The food was mediocre at best. Almost cold . Mac a cheese looked an tasted boxed. No bread with lunch plate had to buy extra. The BBQ not barbecue at all just cut roast beef. We really thought we had found a little jewel to revisit and bring my guild mates. Truly disappointed.

It was a very comfy place it was clean and had good service the bathrooms were clean I ordered green fried tomatoes they were big and delicious the dip was ranch dressing it was homemade it was very very delicious I also ordered half a chicken which was four pieces and they were very large pieces they had a good flavor the coleslaw was good the mac and cheese it was good too my friend had fish strips and fries everything was good. There was plenty of parking and it was free parking. We really enjoyed ourselves here this is a good place to take the family

Very nice place with quite a history. Server was very nice as was the owner in the bar area. He gave us a run down if the place and it's background. My only complaint was that the food was so so salty, and the mashed potatoes tasted fake. Oh and the peach cobbler that I was looking forward to was overly sweet and no cinnamon which is a must for me.

Very disappointed my wife and I arrived at around 7 pm on Saturday there were a couple of tables and two large tables there were only 2 server's they told us to have a seat and sat there for 20 minutes and nobody even acknowledged us and a couple of others tables so we left along with others

What a lovely old time renovated restaurant downtown. The staff were super friendly. There were 3 lunch specials to choose from, lots of sides, even dessert as a side.

Well all I can say is this restaurant is just like his other ones, s*Itty. Food just nasty. Rude Lil servers. Just not good..

The food was excellent! The service was excellent! I'd love to go back and have breakfast but we won't be back until next January. Definitely will check it out when we come back in the area.

Breakfast is great...dinner sucks and is overpriced, overcooked seafood on three trips...short on help therefore service is lacking.

I first attempted to place an order over the phone and was asked to wait while the hostess checked another customer out. I waited for several minutes until someone hung up my call. I called back and was asked again to hold. After SEVERAL more minutes waiting and listening to the hostess shoot the breeze with a customer, WHILE ON HOLD, I was finally able to place my order. I was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I waited 20 minutes before arriving at the restaurant. I told the hostess I was there to pick up my order, at which time she told me she forgot to place my order and that it would be another 20 minutes. No apology, not even the slightest hint that she cared, nothing. I couldn’t bring myself to wait another 20 minutes so I left. Some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Hopefully the business addresses this incident with their employee. She was middle aged with several facial piercings and tattoos.

Breakfast was Good but wasn't the best. Scrambled eggs were a little overdone and sliced cheese just on top not really melted. Hash browns were kinda soggy. Overall I would try it again . Staff was great and very attentive. Clean atmosphere

I drive all the way west from Gainesville just to eat here (and to try and catch a freight train, but they never run through town when I'm here) Best biscuits and gravy I've had since leaving North Carolina 19 years ago, and their chicken and fries are pretty dang good too. Service is lovely

The food was both delicious and at affordable prices. There was a decent amount of selections split between breakfast, lunch, & dinner options. The staff was friendly as well as efficient (we didn't have to wait to be taken care of and this was during a crowded busy rush). We can't wait to go back again.

The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the portions were huge. Service was friendly and prompt. A terrific place for a Sunday dinner with your family. We will be back.

UPDATE THE ONLINE MENU PLEASE! Can you post on line your nightly specials? And bring the burger night back. $2.00 off would still draw them in. DO TRUE SPECIALS. $1.00 OFF certain menu items. Or on a certain night. EVERY TIME WE GET FOOD FROM HERE, WHETHER IS DINE IN OR TAKE OUT, OUR ORDER IS NEVER CORRECT. HUSBAND HAD TO SEND OUR TO GO BURGERS BACK TO KITCHEN TWICE TONIGHT EFORE LEAVING THERE. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE PROBLEM IS! I KNOW THE GIRL UP FRONT IS PUTING IT IN THE COMPUTER. BUT SOMEWHRRE ALONG THE LINE FROM THE FRONT TO THE KITCHEN OUR ORDER GETS MIXED UP EVERY TIME... GET YOUR CRAP TOGETHER!!!!

Had to come to archer,, to bring my kitty to an amazing vet up here,,(Dr biggs) and had to fill up some time. I Google restaurants in the area, and decided on this gem! I love over 2 hours away and wish this amazing place was by me! Funny they had my all time favorite on the specials today! Chicken and dumping! Rhe place is adorable, staff is crazy friendly and yea, foods delish!!!!! If you're around this town, its a go to!!!!! Ohhh and the food comes out faster than you can say you need more coffee!!!! Peach cobbler to go? Yeppers🤣

4 eggs over easy with enough grits to cover them up?Sorry this restaurant can not handle that task.Always ask if I want extra grits being $2.79.Will not be visiting the restaurant again.Betts has no problem doing this so I'll drive to Cheifland.

Surprisingly delicious! I saw online they had fried chicken with some sides. Like soul food, so I decided to give them a try. While I was there, I ordered a country fried steak lunch combo, with rice, brown gravy, collard greens, and apple cobbler. I will say it was fantastic! Especially the apple cobbler! I felt like the greens were a little spicy but I would definitely recommend this restaurant! If I'm ever out this way again, I'll go for lunch!

We were hesitant to not have home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner, but this made the "would do this again" list from all.

We ate here with another couple on Thanksgiving day. The meal was all-you-want for around $25. Our server was excellent. Good food. Nice atmosphere. Thanks for being open!

Great food - reasonable prices - wonderful breakfast selections - super friendly local folks - staff makes you feel at home. Always a good experience here. Today is Thanksgiving and they are planning for a full house. The whole place feels like family.

For what it is, this is a good restaurant. The pictured chairs outside are no longer in use. If you want some simple country food and service with a smile, this is it. It's not that great, but it's always satisfactory.

Met my brother/his wife for breakfast while passing through Gainesville area and looked for a place we had not been along the way. Found this place in Newberry FL and it was great! Lots of food for the price, made perfectly, nice atmosphere and great service. Highly recommend this place.

Heading home after the Gator game we wanted breakfast but everyone in Gainesville had the same idea. We found this nice little place in Newberry instead. Tiffany was our server and when my wife said the lunch menu looked good, she offered to serve lunch early. If you're tired of chain restaurants try Farmhouse 1906.

This place was like eating off Grandma’s table! Authentic southern food in an atmosphere of home! The staff was so friendly and the service was top grade. We ran across this little gem on our way through but we will definitely make the hour long drive back JUST to eat here!!

We had errands to run in this small town and when we finished, we search for a place nearby and on the way home. Farmhouse 1906 immediately came up. I looked at rating and it was over 4 stars. I decided to give it a try. Parking was super easy, right on the street, but it looks like more parking off street. The food was amazing. Probably the best brisket I've ever had. Mashed potatoes were awesome and tasted authentic, like what we might make at home. Lima beans were terrific. I had applesauce, which tasted bottled, and that's okay. Wife had a cobbler and she said it was really good. Both meals came to $23 with tax. My wife paid and left our waiter, who was most excellent, a $6 tip. There wasn't a lot of people in there, which was a total surprise for dinnertime on a Saturday evening. Not sure what was up with that. To be honest, we were both completely shocked at how excellent this stop was...

Overall: Food is ok/get by. Pricing is very fair and below normal restaurant costs. Clean in serving areas. Don't know about kitchen. Women's bathroom looks to be in the middle of a remodel. We sat ourselves cause no one was around after standing at the front door. Only on family seated in restaurant at the time. Waited several minutes for menus and water. Food: Ordered off of specials board. Served very fast. Quantities good. -Turkey & Dressing was nothing special. Stringy tough shredded turkey. Cornbread stuffing was gooey and plain. Gravy was ok. Green beans were way over salted and mushy. Squash casserole was tasty but overcooked. Yeast rolls were gooey in the middle. -Roast beef: tasty and it was also shredded. Field peas were floating in lightly seasoned watery broth. Mashed potatoes were good. Peach cobbler was canned peaches (peaches are in season now)..basic flour/sugar/milk cobbler. Overly sweet, but tasty still. Server was attentive and there if we needed him. He did a good job. I neglected to take pics of food..not missing much there, so... Would we return? It's a toss up. Maybe to try breakfast. Otherwise.. probably not. Good portions, fair price but nothing made us go oh wow! Yum! Not one thing. Oh and just because the breakfast/lunch/dinner menu is all combined, doesn't mean you can get breakfast all day. Even though there is no time on the menu. That stops at 11am. The place had no energy, low vibes, baseball game on TV, just a plain ole plain restaurant. The decor is ok so I give them a B for effort there. I expected more for some reason..like a little hidden gem.

It really was five star food and service. The beef tips, skillet corn and peach cobbler were great!! Our waitperson was Donna and she went an extra mile for 15 of us. I have been there four times and have never been disappointed!

Was in town for the watermelon festival. I got the corned beef hash with a side of gravy. It was pretty good but had a strange lemon flavor. I was told ot was the last day they were preparing the corned beef hash from scratch and moving forward it was coming out of a can. Hmmm.....interesting. It came with choice of a biscuit or toast. I chose the biscuit and added a side of gravy. The biscuit was stale and the gravy had little flavor. Very disappointed. My wife got one of the meals that had bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns and pancakes. The bacon seemed precooked and was burnt and crumbled when you tried to eat it. What a waste of bacon! Lol Her biscuit was stale also. She basically only ate the hash browns and eggs. Once we got the check my wife pointed at the wall beside me and there was a roach crawling on it. Lets just say, thats never a wanted sight. It is Florida but it makes me wonder whats going on behind the scenes there. I wouldnt recommend eating here unless youre a local or have no other option. However, the people were very friendly though. I always hate posting a negative review with such friendly staff.

The dining experience is amazing. You get seated very quickly and served also pretty quick. The food was amazing and it's very filling. On Fridays, they do karaoke from 7 to 10, and anyone can do it. Overall, it was a very enjoyable time and I would definitely recommend it to anybody in the area.

Your basic middle of road place to eat. Ate here a couple times and nothing bad to say and also nothing really excellent. Parking could be better. Prices are better than Gainesville.
