Always great, fresh, and creative. Feels like fall came early and the breeze outside with the sound of kids and people having a great time just soothes the soul.

Found my favorite lunch spot. Food is a decadent take on classic deli meals. Service and set up is perfection, and the atmosphere on the back lanai is exactly what I look for, covered outdoor seating with a beautiful view of the art and tree filled backyard of 4th Ave food park.

I'm Italian from NY, I know good Italian sausage, my grandparents used to make it, they are from Italy. Fehrenbacher's makes some of the best Italian sausage I've had. Gainesville is completely void of a Italian markets, (such a shame) so I am so happy they are here and have such great Italian sausage. Very friendly staff. Didn't go for the atmosphere, went for good Italian sausage and it's what we found

Tried their sausage they supplied to a party once and it was amazing. Owners are such kind, strong, and hospitable people. Hope to go to their stores one day, the pictures look amazing! Keep up the great work!

Really sad that I found this gem a few months before I leave GNV after living here for the last 4 years. This place is awesome from their sausage sandwiches to the meats you can take home and prepare yourself! Always in and out quick and the staff is super friendly. 10/10.

Such a gem of a small shoppe. NY Steaks were fabulous (not cheap) and the Lamb Bacon was magnificent. Certainly worth a trip back.

Amazing place to try when visiting Gainesville! Best place in town to find amazing homemade sausage, local beef, as well as dry aged and wagyu steak. Housemade bacon, foie gras, bone marrow, and other treats like jerky and smoked mukket in occasion. MUST TRY!

This place should be on every foodie's shortlist for Gainesville. The sausages are legit. Best in the state imo.

Drink was good ($3.50 for a bottle of mineral water) and Giovanni sandwich was just okay, not worth the inflated price. The Ciabatta bread just was not good it tasted old. The sandwich is not worth the $12 price in my opinion.

This place is awesome! I am German, and their sausages are so close, if not as good as the ones I grew up eating! AMAZING! Very big outside seating area too.

This a fantastic artisan meat/butcher's shop located in a local gathering place with different eateries and drink options, great atmosphere, super nice people! We had four different sausages and put them on the grill in our base camp in Paynes Prairie, tasted fabulous 👌

Food number one reason to go. I get the cheapest thing (the #1) as a salad. Delicious, healthy and at 11am FAST. You won’t be sorry. Gave 4 stars for Atmosphere only because the interior seating is cramped, but out back in the food park is great.

Amazing menu. Way more than just sausage. The food is top shelf, fantastic flavors and textures. Not simpy standard fair, expect some great takes on some old favorites.

The brined bone in pork chops were unreal. The juiciest chops I've ever had. The Christmas sausage links were something else, any meal and it meets the expectations. You're wasting time reading this and not driving there immediately.

Delicious! Ive been here and few times for sandwiches and they never dissapoint. I always stop by when im in town. I tried a spicy sausage sanwich and there cuban. Both very good and interesting flavors. Will be back soon!

Just THE most delicious thanksgiving meal thanks in part to Fehrenbachers. HIGHLY recommend. I’ve had the charcuterie board before and now the sausages and skirt steak.

Great sausages! I always try to visit when i’m in GNV from the NL. Tried the spiciest sausages they had yesterday and they we’re crazy spicy but crazy good. 10/10 would recommend.

I had the pleasure of trying Fehrenbacher's Sausage at 4th Ave Food Park, and it was an absolute delight! The local artisan sausages were bursting with flavor and made for a delicious meal. The variety of sausages offered is fantastic, and the quality is evident. I highly recommend giving them a try!

Not from the area, and I came across this place at random, but I must say... their food is off the hook. Thanks for the bomb cuban sandwich.

Maybe it was all the hype that everyone placed on them before I went..... But, I am not as excited to return as I thought I would be. Everything was fresh and good, just NOT GRREEAATTT as everyone made it sound. I'll go back, just more like once a month instead of every day/week!

Sandwiches are huge and tasty! Also bought their house smoked salmon and lamb bacon to try later.

I often stop by Fehrenbacher’s when I pass Gainesville and always leave the happier for it ! In my last visit I had The Frank Stallone sandwich washed down with a draft grapefruit IPA. Very good. I took a point of the hickory-smoked bacon (for a pasta sauce later) and a couple of Duroc pork chops which were amazing pan-fried later that day!

This is a great sausage restaurant. They have very limited indoor seating though there is some shaded seating outside behind the restaurant. It’s quite relaxing provided the weather cooperates. I give them a well above average reading in regards to the quality of the food and the service was good. They could improve on the interior of the restaurant to make it a bit more appealing though… If you don’t care about the atmosphere of the restaurant, this is a great place to get a grade sausage.

Food did not live up to the hype. $10-$12 for just 1 lukewarm hotdog. Service wasn't welcoming. It was all robotic behavior. Place an order, pay and leave. I'm use to local business owners being more happier to have people patronize their establishment. I much prefer a fresh, hot and steamy hotdog from Sam's club with a large drink for $1.50 anytime.

The most beautiful delicious salad in the world

The bratwurst and hot Italian sausage were terrible and lacked flavor. I was born and raised in the Midwest where bratwurst getting a good bratwurst is quite common and the flavor here was beyond bland. The staff are very friendly and do a wonderful job when it comes to customer service but the sausage…😬 Hopefully that improves because if so, I’ll happily be a frequent customer and support local.

Pretty good overall. Will definitely try again soon.

Why did they stop posting the menu updates in 2021? I can be a picky eater, hence I hate having to visit in person before knowing whether they'll have something I want. The result is I mostly just don't go!

Mullet this week, Mackrel last week. I know this is a sausage shop/ butcher shop, but they do smoked fish SOOOO well. I've been going there for brunch on Saturdays for the past few months but lately it's been even more awesome then ever. Keep up the delicious variety!

The food here is delicious and generous. I've had sandwiches both times (Stallone and Reuben) and both were outstanding. The smoked meat flavor is what makes everything so delicious, along with fresh toppings and accompaniments. There is a water pitcher and cups if you'd prefer water to buying a beverage, and seating is outside, around back as part of the food market area. I've ordered from many of the establishments at the food market, and Fehrenbacher's is the place I always return to. Highly recommend.

Fehrenbacher’s is always a safe bet at lunchtime. Their non-sausage offerings are just as amazing. I had the smoked mackerel. It came with homemade potato salad, capers and pickles. The ingredients were very fresh and super flavorful. I finished every last bite. On top of great food, the staff is super knowledgeable and kind. Can’t wait to get back there!

Walked into the shop for the first time and was warmly greeted by the friendly staff. The menu is on the wall, and next to it is a chalkboard with their rotation of refrigerated and frozen offerings. My eyes kept scanning the room and was greeted with the beautiful sight of their deli case filled with savory offerings as well as a nice selection of house made sausages. I then heard the words that made my gears start turning, " What'll it be today?" I browsed the menu and had a Rollercoaster of emotions from pure unadulterated joy to absolute fear of missing out from the variety of delicious sounding sandwiches. My heart was torn between their house smoked pork belly sandwich and their cuban sandwich struggling to make a decision on such a difficult choice I asked if I am able to substitute the pulled pork for the pork belly and was told they could make my desires come to fruition. With joy I tapped my card and waited patiently as my masterpiece was hand-crafted part-way through the process the artisan crafting my Mangum opus spoke into the universe words of joy and pleasure I thought was reserved for gods "would you like to add pork jowl bacon onto your sandwich" with glee I responded yes. Shortly after, my sandwich was complete, a creation so magnificent that even the artist himself remarked on its beauty. With precious cargo in tow, I made haste back to my dwelling upon entering my home. I could no longer sheath my primal hungers for the masterfully crafted sandwich I was bestowed. Like a savage beast I feasted, in the throws of ecstasy while experiencing this Devine creation. If you or a loved one have been pondering the idea of coming to and having a meal at Fehrenbacher's Artisan Sausage, I would highly recommend it 10/10 experience in every way.

Giovanni: Another Great Fehrenbacher’s Sandwich. You may have seen me ranting and raving about the “revelatory” roast beef sandwich on my old account (our company changed its email domain) and the Giovanni gives me something to rave about on this one. Put a blindfold on and throw darts at this menu - you literally can’t go wrong. *PS: I advise eating half to avoid a midday food coma. Sometimes I’ll share it or eat the other half for dinner like a true degenerate :)

Superb, tasty sausage, so much different from the mass marketed supermarket varieties. Great sandwiches. Eating area isnm a park like setting, with concurrent challenges for rain.

“Revelatory” Roast beef sandwich. Once I had this, went back for 2-3 consecutive days and ordered the exact same thing. If you are in the middle of a workday or need to be productive afterward, I recommend saving the other half for later or splitting it with a friend. It is a hearty portion. Adam is a local business owner who is passionate about bringing his A-game every day. After several trips, I feel like I can safely recommend anything on the menu or in the cooler. **see also: Spencer of Osterman’s Lardery on Saturdays at Haile Farmers’ Market.

The building is small, part of a food plaza, with stools up front and benches outdoors through the rear. Service was fine, friendly and relatively quick. The bread of my Geovanni was great and I loved the pickled onions and high quality ingredients.

Everything about the lamb shank dish made this a new favorite lunch place for me. Just a very well-balanced plate, and every element was spot on. I’ll be back to try more.

I came in to Fehrenbacger’s for the first time this past weekend. I had a pretty open mind about what I would be making for Sunday dinner and the gentleman behind the counter pointed me in the direction of the very fresh bone in pork chops. These were the most tender and delicious pork chops I’ve ever had in my life. Highly recommend adding a strawberry balsamic vinaigrette glaze and enjoy.

Exactly like my Grandfather used to make at our butcher shop/grocery. He always had unique items for his shoppers. Authentic German sausages & Deli items to die for!! Worth the trip— Daily!!!

Went because I thought it was a butcher shop. They have some cuts of meats but basically an artesian sausage sandwich shop. Seemed popular and if I wasn't shopping for steaks would have bought some sausage. Next time I'm in the area cause the wife is not really a sausage fan. Great looking sandwiches though. 9 to 12 bucks a pop but custom sausage.

Tried this place on a whim today...so glad we did! Absolutely wonderful food & service! And LOTS of unique & different choices of sausage & meats to buy for home! We will most certainly be back!

I didn't see what the big deal was. Payed $32 for 3 hotdogs, a bag of chips and two bottles of water which is fine if the food is worth the money but it wasn't. Besides, I asked the lady if she had chili cheese and onions to go on my hot dog and she said no.

Great place to get hearty brunch food, especially if you love artisanal sausage. We got a sausage sandwich and their charcuterie board for takeout. Both delicious and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and efficient. They also have various aged steaks and meats that you can cook yourself at home. Interested to try at a later date.

Grilled some brats for our Florida Gravel Biking group, needless to say, everyone enjoyed the flavor and quality. We will be having a gravel ride in a couple weeks and many of the riders from all over Florida plan to stop in for some take home pleasure.

The best to ever do it! The beef bacon is phenomenal. The lamb gyro was by far my favorite along side the steak which was so tender I could cut it with a spoon. Great atmosphere and great people. Your missing out if you have never been. I promise, you won't regret it.

Good service. Great sausages with a variety of flavors to try. Gainesville has been missing a specialized place like this. Went with a friend and got a charcuterie board alongside a sandwich. Sitting out in the back made for a nice evening together. Quality food and quality ingredients makes for an appropriate price point.

Treat yourself. Fehrenbacher's is a hidden gem. The house charcuterie plate is a masterful work of sublime flavor and it's obvious from the first bite that a lot of passion goes into the artisinal foods they serve. Highest recommendation!

I tried the Wagyu beef steak and it was tough. I have had USDA Choice grade that was more tender. They should not be selling that beef as Wagyu.

This place is great! Can't beat it for a quick lunch. I have never been disappointed with anything on the menu. I do wish they would come off the price for bulk by of the fresh made sausage though. I do always buy at least a link to take home but would prefer to buy several pounds at a time.
