Sandwiches are great. Very friendly service at the register picking out a sandwich although it took me 17 minutes to wait for two sandwiches; no one ahead of me. Working slow.

The Tavares location is absolutely the worst location I have ever eaten at.

Worst firehouse I’ve ever been to. Dirty and unorganized, staff are rude/unfriendly and seem more interested in talking with each other than helping customers because their service is extremely slow. I’ve filled out receipt surveys on my previous poor experiences and never heard anything from it. My final straw is the fact that they close a good 20+ minutes before their posted closing time and will look at you then walk away when you pull on the door they just locked early. No wonder this place is empty every time I’ve gone.

This place is the pits. The employees are not friendly. Didn't make our subs correctly. Meatballs subs without the sauce, ice cold and no pickle. When I returned them, I didn't even get an apology. But I did get a smirk from one of the employees. I would not recommend this store to anyone.

Why do they make it so difficult at Firehouse Subs when they have specials I don't have this problem at Jersey Mike's Subs

Awesome subs and great soup. My favorite sub place for sure. I always get the Hook and Ladder sub but have trouble choosing between the potato and chicken and dumpling soup, both are sooo good.

Waited 15 minutes for a sub and the guy got the order wrong. I wasn't waiting another 15 for him to correct it.. Off to Jimmy John's from here forward.

Took my subs to go and the buns they used for my sub were so hard and old it sounded like I was eating a potato chip when I took a bite.

The employees don't hardly speak to you. It's always smokey like they burned something. It's always dirty. Floors, takes, soda station. You order online for food in 30 min, you sir and wait another 15-20 AFTER your pick up time before it's done. I came this trip after waiting 2 months to see if it would change and it hasn't. Gotten worse.

Friendly crew and good atmosphere, but my goodness it's terribly slow here. Only 2nd in line and still took over 10 mins. I love the freshness, but I need it a little quicker. Love you, Firehouse!

Good place to eat nice staff savory made my subs they was perfect every thing was in order two more employees was there just looking like daffy duck confuse didn't say nothing, savory was the only one who greeted me and my wife when we walk in and she was busy at the time sweeping the floor now that good customer service,keep up the good work

The sandwiches here are always so tasty. I do miss the selection of sauces they had pre-covid. I took 1 star away because the past couple of times I've been there, despite requesting a pickle spear..... i have not gotten it.

Purchased two items on 5/9/24. Waited for 30 plus minutes for an online order. The salad was good but the ny steamer was a rock hard sub over cooked meat. Terrible, couldn't eat it.

Against my better judgement we stopped by for lunch. Place is still dirty, food was cold, parking lot is scattered with garbage. The staff is loud gossiping and using at one point bad choice of words. Your generated responses are a joke. I'm sure you don't give a rats behind but u have lost customer.

So we've been here a few times now, and this location is consistently slow. Especially if you order online. They have a promotion going on today, so I guess that's some type of excuse today maybe, but it's consistently a wait each time. Today I've waited 35 minutes, and I'm still waiting. There's about 15 people waiting by the door for pickup orders (again probably due to the promotion). But this is unacceptable. Edit: 50 minutes now. If I could have cancelled the order I would have. Too bad they charge automatically once you place the order.

Slowest firehouse subs ever, ordered in store and took over 30 minutes to make 2 subs.

I just sat here waiting for our food (2 sandwiches) for over 40 minutes. Out of ice, out of bottled water, out of small and large cups…The staff was friendly enough but the entire restaurant was waiting for an excessive amount of time. I know this because we were all discussing our displeasure and the fact that there didn’t seem to be any worry, care or sense of urgency from any staff member (and there were approximately 6 people working behind the counter) . I will give y'all another chance but this experience left an extremely bad taste in my mouth.

When my order wasn't right, they made it again and dropped it off at my office. That is customer service at it's best. The team is friendly and you get a sense they like their job. Thank you Tavares team for making my salad perfect!

It's the only place we order subs. The bread is good and they are not skimpy on the meat and toppings.

New to the area, love Firehouse but I went to this location 3 times and 1 of those times the service was only decent. Another time I was waiting around for 20+ minutes for a sandwich and this last time (Today) it will be the last because I waited 38 minutes for a sandwich and found they had been sitting on it and they didn't even make it properly. The other things that I made note of is the fact that their soap dispensers weren't working in either men or women's restrooms and this leads me to wonder how their employees are meeting food safety regulations - at least they're wearing gloves. Note: I had previously brought this up to them on the first visit and all I have experienced since was an even worse experience.

Came here for my birthday on 1/6 because I received a promotion on my account for a free medium birthday sub. Came in, the gentleman was sorta friendly, but you can tell we were bothering them by coming in. Ordered two subs, a medium meatball and a small club on a sub. The meatball was ok, but my small club on sub was not. Nearly an hour or two after eating, I was struck with FOOD POISONING. It is very clear based on our experience and others, that this establishment is not very clean. Will not be returning, which is a shame because we are frequent visitors at other locations.

December 2023 Sadly our opinion of Firehouse subs has changed quite a bit. Principally there are little tiny bugs flying around everywhere. The place doesn't seem as clean as it used to be, not sure why. Too many competitors to come back. 2022 We are a regular at this Firehouse Subs in Tavares. The franchise owner was there today training a few new employees. Leadership counts in any business but especially with such "high touch" customer contact.

Waited a 1/2 an hour after we ordered our sub before it was made.

Well I have to give fewer stars... Place is going down hill.... Went in for Chilli at 8:20 and they were about to close up.... No chilli or anything.... Might be going out of business.... I would call before I want to see if they are open..... Sad.....

They never mentioned before purchasing drinks that they had only diet drinks available in the fountain and refused to refund the drinks before we even used the cups.

$14.22 for a large sub now, probably 4$ or less in ingredients. I will never go back, the place was covered in flies and all the a1 sauce packs were swollen they were so old. Complete ripoff, I used to love firehouse

Cajun chicken sandwich was excellent

I ordered no cheese and no mayo. I got a small amount of Turkey lots of cheese and extra extra mayo. It was disgusting!!! Gross 🤮 1 out of 3 sandwiches ordered was correct. Plus he had an attitude when 1 sandwich was requested gluten free. Please don’t message me back telling me to go the website so you can get my email address. Update: They did exactly what I said not to do. Referred me to the website. That will do absolutely nothing to correct the issues. SMH

Placed an online order, when I get there 20 mins after placing my order they then tell me the sandwich I ordered isn’t available in store.. I said can you make me and Italian which is similar to the one I ordered she said yes we will have it right out…. They had me waiting for 25 minutes for a sub and it’s only 1 other customer in there already eating his food. I asked for a drink since I paid extra online for a more expensive sub and she said sure. When I go to soda fountain they nothing but sugar free soda and everything else was unavailable. The lady who helped me I am assuming was the manager or lead was definitely using cocaine or some type of drug because she was acting very unusual and kept speaking and moving extremely fast but yet my sandwich took more than 40 mins in total to be ready. Never again going there. The sandwich was honestly not good at all and was missing barbecue sauce that comes on it.

Came here to use a promotional offer and although they honored it they were definitely not friendly or cool about it. I have been a patron to other locations for years but will avoid this one as it gave me bad a bad first impression. I’m leaving this review a few months after visiting. After going back here online to see other people’s experiences and reading another review I saw someone had a very similar bad promotion experience so I wanted to share. It’s the owner and she’s greedy. The good news is I won’t have to deal with it again because I won’t be back.

I went in and ordered a sub, there was no one else in the store but someone came in 5 minutes later. With 4 people behind the counter, it took almost 30 minutes to get my sub! I don’t know if this is normal but I wish they would limit talking while making subs or wear masks!

The subs here are good and the staff has been friendly. My disappointment is that this location doesn’t seem to participate in the promotions that the others do. There have been two promotions in the past several weeks that I’ve received in emails from Firehouse and this location wouldn’t honor either of them.

I ordered online and picked up my sub, was fairly quick and made the way I wanted.

I gave this place the benefit of the doubt. Last time I tried to eat here the employees clocking out jumped in line to order food in front of me, and I swore I would never be back after that. This time they just took forever to prepare the sandwich and by the time it was served it was cold even having just been steamed. How does that happen? Anyway this location is done in my book I’ll drive to lake Mary to avoid this one…..

We visited here after lunch about 1:00 for two subs. There was nobody in line about five people working and it took them almost 25 minutes to make our subs. They were very busy, socializing and not taking care of the customers which is a shame because the food is very good.

Meatball subs are fantastic the others are not. Steak and cheese comes with rubbery mushrooms that really needed to be cooked more.

Busy day but lunch was outstanding and prepared perfectly.

Ordered 2 roast beef sandwiches, one with no Mayport and mustard, the other regular. Decent roast beef but the bun falls apart when trying to eat it. Big mess, the staff also was going to give me both sandwiches without marking which was which. Then they put numbers on the container to separate them. Firehouse used to be great, hope they improve.

Well I usually go to this place with my husband This time I was with my daughter. We ordered 11:23 I get my food at 11:40 Then I have to wait 6 more minutes because they make my kids sandwich turkey and cheese and I order only turkey and mayo.I don't know What's going on everywhere you go when you go to a sit down restaurant or a fast food restaurant did not pay attention when they take the order and then when the customer get upset then you are a Karen it's very disappointed we leave here in Mount Dora for 6 years And we are running out of places to eat. Sometimes their food is good but the customer service is not good and because of that you don't come back I don't expect firehouse give me anything. Just fix it.

We love firehouse and the service but the last time we went they got my order wrong, I was aggravated because the sub I ordered cost more then the one I was given I overlooked it because it was the first time they ever made a mistake with us. We went today and paid for a bowl of soup and bacon on my sub and got a cup instead of a bowl and no bacon.

Took over 20 minutes to get 2 subs made. Very little meat on the subs for the price. I could understand the time it took if they were busy but they were not.

First time eating here. Thought the food was good. Although I felt it was a bit pricey.

Worst experience I have ever had at firehouse.. my order was not prepared right and looks like it was just thrown together.. bread was all broken up and it was cold when it should have came hot. They didn’t follow instructions or gave me the items I was charged extra for. When I called the store to report the issue, the shift lead got nasty and hung the phone up before I was finish with my complaint. When I called back to ask her to just refund my card for the sub she stated I had to come in when I didn’t have to come in to pay for the order! Customer service training from a shift lead should be a requirement !

Waited 45 minutes for a mobile order they kept pushing it backwards on the line to help customers who just ordered why have a mobile app then. Canceled watched why the employees behind the counter took selfies unreal. Food is good but so unorganized. No management whatsoever!!!

Ordered a sub fully loaded got home and had nothing but mayo on it but what do you expect with children making subs with no adults supervising

I ordered to go, it took nearly 30 minutes to get my food. My sandwich was forgotten and I was handed the wrong sub. There was only one person was in front of me, I get that there are also online orders but it shouldn’t take 30 minutes to get food. I work EMS and it’s hard to find time to eat as it is. Once the situation was fixed I got my sandwich promptly within 2 minutes. Unfortunately this isn’t the first time it’s taken and extended period of time to get my order. Other than the long wait the staff is kind and the restaurant is clean.

Always have fun eating here! The sandwiches are great and very filling, their salads are big and fresh with all kinds of meat add ins...delicious and I couldn't finish it, I brought half home! The Restaraunt itself is very clean and everyone is really nice and accommodating! Love going there!

Never had to wait for employees to get there orders in prior to ordering for us before; but every body has to eat.

So we normally always have a great experience here but tonight the staff was rude and the place was dirty.. it took really long to get our food and you can just tell how miserable the staff is tonight. We almost didn't come in because the open sign was off, when my husband ordered the staff member was very rushed and curt. When we got our food we realized we didn't get our soup so my husband brought the receipt and it said chips. When he tried to sort the mistake the staff member replied very loudly sir that's extra. He wasn't asking it for free but was trying to exchange it. Not a single table was clean and the floor was disgusting. When my husband came back he was embarrassed so we ate and left.

First time at this place. I ordered a cheese steak sub and being from Philly I know what a good cheese steak tastes like. My sub from Firehouse Subs was awesome! One of the best I've had since living in Philly. 👍👍

Love the food. Now days it takes so long to get your food. The past 5 or 6 times I have been there it takes 25 minutes to get our food. I really love their subs but the wait is not worth it. I have been waiting 20 minutes now for my food. I think it is time for a break from firehouse not coming back for awhile. If you have an hour to waste I recommend firehouse

This is by far our most favorite Firehouse Subs! We will drive pass others to just come to this location. The service is GREAT and Ms. Donna rarely forgets a face or name. The food is always fresh, hot and on point. I appreciate our Firehouse team for being there for us and making our week day lunch dates the BEST! By the way, y'all rock the bread free meatball sub. My son says he wishes your grilled cheese sandwiches were bigger. Catherine (newest employee) wrapped my meal with a smile and a thank you!

My local Firehouse, been coming here for years since my best friend worked here in high school. No matter what Firehouse you go to, you can expect the same quality, and I never regret anything from my Tavares store. We eat here about once every month or two. So yummy!

Waited for 10 minutes for somebody to actually take my order. The young girl asked if she could clock back in early and Im assuming the manager thought about it for a minute and decided she couldn't clock back in from break to take my order, so he decided to take my order after looking at me for the past 10 minutes.
