The good music outweighs the awful cigar smoke, and the service was great, but the food is terrible

Last night, a Tuesday, a group wanted to meet there at about 9pm, but there weren't ANY LIGHTED SIGNS OR LIGHTS ON THE FRONT OR BACK, SO I LEFT. It looked closed.

My favorite spot in Tavares.. the beef and bleu is awesome!

I'm Philly raised. This was the BEST Philly cheese steak I've had in the 20 years we've been in Florida!

Went to meet someone, anf listen to band, Ladies/Barmaids/Bartenders were running, But had two beers and wanted a water it was hot. waited a Hour for my water!! lol Band was great!

Stopped by on Easter Sunday and had a fantastic lunch. The live music was outstanding, and the food was pretty good as well. Service was good, but the restaurant was slow anyway. Everyone loved their meals and loved the experience. Will definitely be back!

Don't miss the Beef on Weck! Great sandwich brought here from Buffalo, NY. Kimmelweck Rolls are to die for! Drinks were very good, and service great, in spite of only one waitress on staff.

It's not often that you find wedge salad as an entree. This was loaded with bacon and blue cheese then covered in dressing. Very good.

Hannah was an incredible waitress. She was so attentive and kind throughout the entire night. Couldn’t recommend her more!

Nice place but the bartender is chain smoking. Gross. Amended. Food and service were exceptional. Please tell the bartender not to smoke; even though it's outside it makes the atmosphere unpleasant.

I had the likely the best Mahi Fish Tacos I've ever had at Ruby Street Grille last night. Excellent entertainment and friendly venue for locals and tourists alike.

Never eaten a meal here, I'm a vegetarian. Had a glass of wine, enjoyed dancing, and listening to the band play many times over the past 3 years. They have a fantastic classic rock band at least twice a month, and service is good too.

First time ever here, and I really liked it. You've got to like hole in the wall type places to enjoy this grill and bar. Definitely want to visit the town again it's kind of nice to walk down by the waterfront and watch the seat planes and the birds and the alligators etc Typical pub food, but very well prepared and service was great. Wings, burgers, potato skins, ahi tuna were among the items we. Would definitely return. The fish sandwich that one of us ordered could have easily fed three people

Not a bad burger! Placed my order before 1pm on a Tuesday afternoon. When I arrived, the sever was friendly and everything was to be expected. I will be back!

First Impressions and visit: Owner couldn’t just let his staff do their job. Like a bad episode of Hells Kitchen. Is he a bartender too? Does he get tipped out? I’ve been in the service industry for almost 15 years prior history and when I asked him my as a patron if he needed more help for the weekends he mockingly told me the weekend was over. Server on the job that night told me it’s good making money there but the owner is an @ss. Haven’t been back.

Sunday afternoon with live music, good food and the view of the lake...what could be better

Food was delicious. Servers were very friendly. Has an outside eating area that has bands playing from time to time. Very nice place, would formsure eat there again!

Absolute dump. Food. Atmosphere. All of it has gone down hill from last visit home.

Very unprofessional. Male bartender denied selling me a cup of ice in the heat because he “assumed” I was going to mix my own drink at a different bar. Which I was not. He then proceeded to take a shot and get intoxicated on the clock with a regular and ignore me.

We came in for an early dinner today, the 4th of July, and the waitress brought us a special holiday menu. I explained to her that my husband was on a keto diet, meaning almost no carbs, and I saw no sides that worked with his diet. I asked if he could just get a small house salad for an upcharge, as we had no problem paying extra for the accommodation. The waitress was perfectly fine with it, but she said she had to ask the kitchen. Since restaurants are normally happy to work with him, I didn't figure there'd be an issue, but I was wrong. Our waitress was told that was the menu, no deviations allowed. We were surprised they were willing to lose business over it, especially when they had big salads on the menu, which meant they had the ingredients to do it. We ended up walking over to Puddle Jumpers, where they were more than happy to work with my husband.

Always a pleasure to visit. The patio is dog friendly and is well cooled. Love the food selection and the service has always been top notch. We come here often with our puppy ( he's actually 10 but we're not telling him!)

Ruby Street Grille is a casual American restaurant overlooking Lake Dora, Florida, featuring regular live music with a covered patio for indoor/outdoor dining. Their menu offers a fair variety of seafood, pasta, pizza, burgers, wings and a full liquor bar with wine and beer. Their interior has beautiful murals that are painted directly to a wall or column, wherever there is space. They have live entertainment on their covered patio Wednesday thru Sundays. Right from the start, our servers (Carolynn and Emily) made sure that we had a good experience from beginning to end as they took excellent care of us all evening. We had a large group for a birthday celebration and their service was fantastic, smile, no extra charge! Reports of food from around the table; Boneless Wing Dings for an appetizer were great for two of us. Ruby Slippers, crispy potato skins, BBQ pulled pork, shredded cheese were good. Portobello Mushroom Swiss Burger by three of us were great. Mahi Fish Tacos, Two corn tacos filled with blackened mahi then topped with jack cheese and Napa slaw, served with fries were good. Everything was delicious, all of the staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definetly return!

Typical bar food. My favorite is the fried shrimp and the fish tacos. The different bands are always a treat. No cover and the beer, wine and drinks flow. The staff is very accommodating. You can bring your puppy dog into the outdoor seating. The staff will even bring fido a bowl of water.

We visited last year and had a great time, this year we had a large group and they said they NOW have a DRES CODE at a GRILL.. I’m confused.. they asked two people to leave.. it was ridiculous. We just all left..sorry not sorry..they will not be on our re-visit list as this group grows an re-visits the area..

I use this restaurant near the lake to take out of town visitors. It has a nice Florida atmosphere and good food I like the club sandwich and the fish tacos here.

Ok food, small menu, friendly atmosphere

I'm gonna be honest I was drunk from bar hoping the night I visited but stopping and ending my night at Ruby Street Grille was the best choice of the night! Food tasted amazing, the staff was incredibly friendly, one of the lovely waitresses told me a joke about a loaf of bread and a zoo and I almost fell off my bar stool laughing! Overall, this place is great and he live music was great, a bit loud but great nonetheless!!

I ate here for the 1st time over the weekend They had music a great band playing and the food was amazing our server was awesome from Louisiana very sweet definitely be going back again.

Small menu but good food I like the chill atmosphere

We enjoyed the entertainment and the food and drinks but they allow people to smoke and that makes it miserable for us that don't. The tables are so close so it makes it impossible to escape it.

I have been to this restaurant numerous times with my coworkers and never had an issue. However, yesterday I took my husband there for lunch since he's never been there before, and our service was awful. The server took our order and my husband has food allergies so he asked for his food to be prepared a certain way and the server confirmed his order with him twice before going to place it with the kitchen. Once our food arrived, my husband's order was wrong, and he couldn't eat it. The server who took our order was busy, so I got the attention of another employee to explain that my husband's order was wrong. The lady gave us attitude when she got to our table and said to us well I didn't take your order. So we just dismissed her. When we were able to speak with the server who took our order, she just looked at us like we had 2 heads, they offered to fix it but we had already waited almost 45 minutes to get our food and we had to get back to work. So we just paid our check and left. But I will NEVER return to this restaurant again because of the nasty attitude and poor customer service we received.

This is a great place to enjoy a view of the lake located directly across from Wooton Park. Well behaved pets allowed on Patio.

Not impressed. Got the pretzel and it was burnt and super hard. The waitress was interested in telling her friends about other customers. The view is beautiful but will find another location to enjoy it. Had to hunt the waitress down to pay the bill. We came a few years back. Definitely a different atmosphere. Maybe when entertainment is there it will better. Don't go at lunch on a Friday.

This place is awesome. We came last night when they had "freestyle " way of band. House band was allowing other musicians to play with them. It was amazing. The way Roberto and John played saxophone 🎷 was so cool. Great service and atmosphere.

Good view of Lake Harris and the seaplanes taxiing up to docks. Decent food at fair prices. Decor was nice on the patio deck. Lots of hand painted murals of beach like scenes. They have live entertainment many nights a week. All in all. Very enjoyable place to chill with friends and family.

Ordered grilled haddock. Was served fried. Mentioned to waitress. Said they don't have grilled, only fried. I stated she should have told me that when I ordered. However, I ordered creamy asparagus and spinach soup as a side and it was delicious. It saved my day. Too much fried foods. Not much on the menu for elderly with health or stomach issues.

Menu has changed drastically since we were there last. From across the street it looked as though the place was out of business. Service was great but other than that I would not go back.

Went there today for lunch and never felt so un welcomed anywhere in my life. I wanted to take my grandma out for lunch get there never greeted see 1 server running around asked do we sit our selves she just responds Yea then almost knocks my grandma over trying to squeeze behind her . She was so unpleasant that we just left.

Great atmosphere, knowledgeable and friendly server. Fast service. I ordered the Mahi Fish Tacos. They were very good, though they needed something to make them a bit more juicy. The fried chips were great. If order them again. They have excellent caprese flat bread and offer a delicious pear cider beer.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Burger was great and best fries I've ever had! Very relaxed atmosphere and patio dining was refreshing.

Enjoyed eating in open air part of the building. Service was excellent, pleasant, timely and offered good suggestions. Food was hot, looked appetising and was delicious.

My husband and I shared the turkey club sandwich and french fries and it was plenty and delicious! My dad's Burger was a little overcooked but he ate it anyway.. the kids chicken nuggets are delicious.

Ruby Street Bar and Grill in downtown Tavares. The best bar in town! They've got the best staff, the best food and drinks, and absolutely the best bands!! Love this place!! Their black and Bleu steak appetizer is always on point. Everything is priced fairly. Would be nice if they had their beef on weck more often.

Great Drinks & Food. Great Music. Great Service. Thumbs up to Emily Chipper. She's a hard worker, excellent bartender, and was on her A-game on a holiday weekend. Give that girl a raise or promotion!

I wish there was more airflow through the outside dining due to the smoking, but otherwise, we enjoyed it. Food was wonderful, service was good and prices were proper. I will be back!
