Great lakeside views with boat dock! Food is outstanding! Love the chili (family recipe)! Tonight had the BLT Wrap (extra crispy bacon & extra mayo), so yummy!!! Good friends, good times! Live music on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday! GM even checks in to make sure it was an outstanding experience! Sure hope to see you soon!

Arrived at the Hideaway by boat while staying at a Airbnb in Yalaha. Super easy to find and a decent enough dock which is sort of tucked away off Lake Harris. Got there right at opening on Sunday at 11. They were more than prepared and already had regulars sitting and chilling with beverages. Our server was super awesome and knew the menu well and got drinks to us quickly enough. The Hideaway is dog friendly if on a leash. I had the hot wing and a side of fried green beans. All of it was excellent replete with celery and blue cheese (unless you’re from Canada and like ranch with your wings) Others in the party had the burger all the way with fries and said it was great. And it looked great. I loved this place and they had a great vibe with live music in the form of a hybrid DJ who was getting ready as we were leaving. Full bar, fancy blender drinks and ice cold beers. Great place! Cheers to The Hideaway!!

Good food but perhaps due to the time of year, there were a lot of flies buzzing around.

Great first visit. Service was slow considering it was pretty empty. Grouper basket was amazing. Saw a gator.

Good place to stop by while in the lake on our jetSkis. Unfortunately it took about an hour to get our food. We were a party of 7 (5 adults and 2 children). Tiffany was awesome and kept us informed.

2nd time stopping for lunch while traveling. My boyfriend is an old friend of the owner. Have the Messy Burger, it's very messy but awesome!!! Everything is good there. We are planning to stop by again soon!

God I love a good hole in the wall! They had live music with servers that go way above and beyond and a large selection of beer. Best part is I was able to bring my dogs. Server brought out a small order of fries for free to feed my dogs. Needless to say, my dogs fell in lover with the server. If you are a patriot, this is the place for you. At one point they played a patriotic song and the owner walked around with an American flag. Had a great time!

Very intimate place to see live music and very friendly the atmosphere is awesome like old Florida right on the water cypress trees and Moss plenty of boat parking and car parking

I love this place, I live right on the lake, and its a beautiful location, so a suggestion on no band nights: Please play music in the bars. Both inside and outside. I'm here right now on a Tuesday, and I'm watching the local news on TV.

We pulled our boat up to the dock, and it was nice and easy to tie up and walk to the restaurant. The service was very polite, friendly, and attentive. The food was amazing! Definitely will be back!

I am guessing this place is good, due to the number of people that were there. They had live music, which was good. The server took about 25 minutes to greet us, which would normally not be a problem. However, we were told they wouldn't be serving food for over 2 hours because the kitchen was behind. We did get up and leave at this point. In the future, it would be nice to have signs up stating this so patrons are not waiting for a seat and then sit for 25 minutes before being told this. If I get a chance to go back, I will update this review.

The first time there was this weekend, Hayfire was playing awesome band, great place to get away for a weekend of fun👍👍

I was originally writing a one star review but near the end of our meal a lady that was working saw that my son wanted a donut and made his day giving him one. Originally I walked in 10 minutes before opening. My kid and I walked all throughout the back and inside with everyone working avoiding eye contact and not even acknowledging our presence. It was about 5 minutes after opening that the first person approached while sitting at the bar. All she asked us was what we wanted to drink then we had to wait what felt like 10 minutes before she asked if we wanted menus. Like what was she thinking we just came to drink water? The waitress was horrible. She was super dry and never smiled like she hated her life. We finished eating and sat there waiting for boxes to go and a check for about 15 minutes while everyone “working” walked around laughing. I made effort the entire time to get someone to look our way and see that we needed assistance without yelling throughout the room and that didn’t happen till someone that wasn’t even my waitress happened to walk close enough that I could get her attention. It really sucks to have this experience here because this place has been a staple in the community for a long time and I just bought a new house right down the road so I was hoping to bring my kids here and have it as our special day place with the gators and eveything because my son loves them. Sadly instead of it being a good time we just felt out of place and even my 3 year old son wanted to leave. I doubt he will ever want to go here again and I hyped it up so much to him.

Food is WAY overpriced! $18 for 7 fried shrimp and fries? What? Plus overcooked and dry. Peel and eat shrimp 1/2lb for 8 shrimp? ( and no nothing was “jumbo” about any of it)Ridiculous. Service was fine, beer selection good, atmosphere fun. Will not go back for food.

Food was average and the cocktail drink bucket were above average. Hole in the wall place on the Harris chain of lakes. You can pull up on your boat, motorcycle, or car and enjoy the views and many times live music.

Great location and entertainment. Beer's cold and Rum and Coke that we couldn't taste the rum. The food is OK, but not outstanding. A good place for Bikers and non-bikers as well.

What a great place. The atmosphere is outstanding. Your seat has a great view of the lake. The server was very good. The fried green beans were the best I have had. The food was good, hot, and tastey. We will be going back sooner than later.

Service was great, but we sat at the bar. Our bartender was very attentive and was always smiling. I wish I could remember her name. We had the smoked barbecue and grilled chicken sandwiches. The barbeque wasn't very good or tasty however, after adding barbecue sauce and Tabasco sauce it turned out to be somewhat okay. Again, the grilled chicken sandwich had very little flavor however, after adding salt, pepper, and ranch dressing it was acceptable. Great atmosphere, music, and of course biker friendly. I would highly recommend Lake Harris Hideaway. I'm going to try the cheese burger next time.

Went here April 2nd 2024 at 2:05PM with my two kids for a late lunch. Once our order was in with 1 appetizer of hush puppies, we did not see the waitress for 45 minutes. We had to track our waitress down and ask her for refills and she said our order was being plated. That was a total lie as we waited another 25 minutes before we got up and left. Her excuse was she has 25 person table cashing out, but completely neglected us. When we were leaving, she got angry at us and talk trash in front of our kids because we left 1 hour and 20 minutes without being served. We left at 3:25PM with her coming to our table once. I started yelling at the waitress as she was talking trash to my family as we were leaving. Awful service, poor management as they did not offer us anything in compensation or help. Absolutely appealing experience.

First time here and lived this place. Typical bar menu, food was good. The service (Chrissy) was great, especially with how busy they were. We sat outside adjacent to the water, some Canadians sat with us. There was a DJ. We'll come back.

Great little place outside Tavares. Lake view. Good beer and service.

We arrived a few minutes after 11 to a near empty parking lot. I prefer parking across the street for ease of departure. The restaurant is tucked away from the main drag off highway 19 and back from Lake Harris, hence "Hideaway." Walking up, one of the servers told us to "Sit wherever you want." We sat adjacent to the water. There was a small issue with gnats, and that's no fault of the Hideaway. It's one of the things we deal with outdoor dining. We ordered from the new menus. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich with upgraded sweet potato fries, and I had the grouper basket, which includes coleslaw, fries, and three hushpuppies. Our food arrived quickly. Other than my grouper being a bit underdone, everything was good. I'm not big on hushpuppies, so my wife inherited them. All in all, the food and the view were good. Enjoy!

Great setting overlooking the water and the food was good as well. Very pleasant service, just too many tables to cover. May have been shorthanded that day or unusually busy, but still did a great job all considered. Definitely looking forward to going back.

What a lovely spot! We rode as a group to this spot and felt very welcome as bikers. Our server Cynthia was friendly, funny and eager to please. We had the peel and eat shrimp with Cajun seasoning.. it was good, but seemed to lack flavor. We also tried some hush puppies which were ok. The location is so beautiful surrounded by big cypress trees with Spanish oak draping down and the sound of the lake lapping against the docks. There are lots of picnic tables whether under the trees or on the patio, so plenty of seating. There is a bar in the outside corner with a little bit of additional seating and an indoor bar as well. The singer performing while we visited was Rob Nichols who did an amazing job. Bring your dancing shoes as well. Boats can pull up and tie off on one of two decks that reach out into the water. This place is unique and worth the visit.

The only word to describe this place is HORRIBLE… horrible food, and horrible service.

This was my first visit to Lake Harris Hideaway, but it won't be my last. The staff is very friendly and attentive, the food is really good, and the atmosphere on the lake is relaxing. It's a great place to stop and eat while out riding.

Relaxed, outdoors or indoor bar area. Near water, Boat docks, Good food, Great Entertainment!! Just fun yet early evening week days relaxing. Bikers are very welcome. Took my Dog and we loved it.

Food was cold, bartender was serving and was extremely busy. Ordered the grouper basket, no fries. Other meal with burger was barely warm. Fries were cold. No one checked on us to see if food was ok or if we wanted anything else. Would not recommend.

It’s always nice to eat on the water and this place has lots of indoor and outdoor seating. It was busy when we were there and the service was good not great the food was OK fairly decent selection. I had the fish sandwich and was not impressed and the sweet potato fries were awful.

On Sunday, January 24, 2021 my Husband & I took a motorcycle ride & ended up @ the Hideaway in Tavares, FL . We had not been there for quit a while. When we motorcycled there, was amazed @ the additions & upgrades that had been done! Place was packed with patrons but we did grab a table as another couple were leaving it. Our waitress, Shelly, came over immediately, greeted us, cleared & wiped table off, gave us menus & took our drink order. She came back with our drinks & since we were still looking @ the great changes & additions to the menu told her to come back in few more minutes. She did & order was brought to us in a reasonably quick time. Food was hot & delicious. She was very attentive, never had to ask for refills as she was right on it! Also to our delight, a live musical group was playing & singing. As they performed, people just couldn't help but sing along, also get up & dance, but those of us that didn't get up did sway along to the beat! Only regret on my part is we didn't hear who the group was that was performing nor did we stop to find out. Everyone had smiles on their faces & were really enjoying the ombience. Best afternoon we had in a long time!! We definitely won't wait so long to return to the Hideway!!

We have been going here for 15 years, good food, good atmosphere. We went on Friday January 26 at pm nice day, not crowded at all. Was waited on quickly. We brought a couple with us to show how great it is. We orders drinks, 30 minutes later ordered food. First order was lost, reordered at 2pm. Ask to see manager at 230pm no one ever came. Finally got food at 320, food was cold burgers over cooked and all we got was sorry. Really questioning if I want to return.

First time trying this place. Loved the live band, the beautiful scenery, our hostess was the sweetest ❤️ the food was delicious. Oh and the most important part, they are Steelers fans!! Will definitely be back.

The food and service are very good, but the coffee is the best anywhere. If you like live music you will enjoy the atmosphere. Otherwise avoid Sunday mornings.

I only give four for atmosphere because the music act was basically a guy doing karaoke and not giving anyone else a turn. Back off on the backing tracks. Just not my cup of tea.

I used to come here in the early 80s with my grandparents. It was called Little Joe's then-the had that song "My Dingaling" on the jukebox and free popcorn from an old dirty machine. Great spot though Recently revisited Wow Really impressive upgrades, the food is amazing okay priced beer. Definitely a good time and very "Florida" Cool trivia - the Paul Newman movie Cool hand Luke was based on Tavares Work Camp, which was right about smack dab in this area. No man can eat 50 eggs!

Coming from NY/NJ to a random place in the middle of an unknown town to find a place to eat was a chance my friend and I took. What a pleasant surprise to find this hidden gem. We truly enjoyed every aspect of our visit. Anyone visiting the area for golf or fishing must go and see for themselves. Thank you for the memories and excellent vibes.

Our first time here. We were disappointed by the very chilly reception we got from our waitress “Mitch “. We only got an appetizer , one beer each and a chicken breast for our fur baby. The food was fantastic, our little Bella loved her chicken breast . Our problem was with our waitress that clearly hates her job , people and dogs. Since we got such a nasty attitude from the waitress, we will definitely never come back.
