Worst tenderloin we’ve ever had. Fries and onion rings were good.

A great dining experience! Found this diner on Google maps and the reviews made me want to try it out. Cindy was our server and the food and service were great! I had the bacon cheddar burger and fries and it was delicious. Great atmosphere. Will be back! Thank you.

Place was very hot (temperature wise) menus when handed to us looked Filthy with bits of food and other particles (Don't understand this since the menus are taken away before food comes out).?? Food was so-so, nothing I would be coming back to.

Food is always bad and order is always wrong, even when you double check it.

Great atmosphere, spacious and comfortable, good food, reasonably priced. Came for breakfast with a group of friends. Server was attentive, yet also gave us time to linger and chat after the meal. Definitely would return here. Lunch menu looks excellent.

This is a themed dinner, made up with stereotypical 50s era memorabilia with ok to bad food but it's kinda cheap and kitschy, if you like that "soo bad it's good" style. The food is ok, but even some simple deep fried things came out cold in the middle. There's a pretty ok variety on the menu so maybe some things on it should be avoided, maybe. It's good enough for a laugh if you're driving through town. It'd be better if they had beer.

Nice family owned 50s dinner with good food and great service

When I attended Lake Sumter Community College in 2004/2005 I use to eat here regularly. Since my time at LSCC I had not eaten here since then until about a week or so ago. I was passing through and I was like I wonder if this diner is still open. I checked and it was still open. I ordered my favorite home cooked meal from this diner and I was still floored. The smothered liver in onions was great as always. The server was good but the atmosphere was over taken by flies. They were horrible.

Me and my Mom were in today and the music was rockin' and wonderful! Everyone was chatting and having a good time! My triple decker with Mama's fried chicken was The Bomb!!! Everyone was talking and laughing and having a good ole time. After about 5 songs it cut out again..Morgue....I had the Mama's fried chicken sandwich..Awesome! Been going here since before it was soup to nuts. Its old its dependable its priced fairly its friendly its clean and do they still have those sticky buns once a week?

Highway 441 Diner is a 50's style diner with great food, service and ambiance. Their large menu offers an array of selections that is sure to satisfy everyone. Pickup, Delivery, Online Services and scheduled classic car shows.

I was super excited to check this diner out, as we had heard good things about it. I'm now wondering why anyone would set foot in here. We walk in on Memorial Day and wait to be seated. There's 5 tables with folks at them, mostly two toppers, and they're all in the finishing up/leaving stages. The rather gruff lady said "give me a minute !" and it really seemed it was difficult for her to figure out where to seat us!!!! The place is not really clean, had to wipe the seat of the booth before I sat down. We ordered and waited. While we were waiting, folks walked out and proceeded to start smoking outside, right in front of the door. Nobody can go in or out, without walking through a cloud of cigarette smoke.....disgusting!!!!!!!!! When our food did finally arrive, it was super bland. Husband ordered an omelet and the cheese inside was cold!! I ordered blueberry pancakes and they were thick!! I'm not sure how you can cook them so the blueberries are burnt and yet still falling out of the pancakes instead of them being warm juicy little bursts of blueberry! Oh my bacon....I almost forgot....the waitress seemed proud of herself that she realized she forgot to punch in my order for crispy bacon, she just grabbed some the cook had back there (it was cold and stringy...gross!) and did we need anything else? We even told the grumpy hostess/server lady it was our first time here......apparently she didn't want us to come back again. We definitely won't be back, nor recommend.

We have been here a few times and this place never disappoints. The music is very chill and the decor makes you reminisce and talk about the good ol days. We took my mother in law here today and she loved it. The service is always great. They hold a car show every third Wednesday, although we have never had the opportunity to go because of work. We hope in the future they can hold the event on a weekend.

Breakfast was awful. Lunch was spectacular!

This place is disgusting the pizza crust has no flavoring the dough disolves into the cheese when you try to get a slice . I wish I could give a zero . Never again I have been robbed for my 33 dollars ugh ew .

Great portion sizes, both the fried and blackened catfish were delicious! Bean and ham soup was spot on.

Old diner atmosphere. Quite a variety of items on the menu. Food was good, nothing spectacular just average. Could use a slicer. Huge chunks of onion and tomato's on my Tenderloin were terrible.

CIt's a good old fashion family diner, a real throwback to the 60s. The moment you enter you are transported back in time by the decor. The food was good but not great. I had fried haddock, broccoli and applesauce. The haddock was good but salty for my taste, however the broccoli was pure mush. Our appetizer of fried mushrooms was delicious and plentiful. Our server was okay, but seemed a bit distracted. All in all I would recommend that if you are in the area you stop in and give this place a try.

I ordered breakfast 2 eggs scrambled 2 pancakes and 2 sausage. It came with bacon instead of sausage. When the waitress came by I told her I ordered sausage. No response no sausage. When I got the bill it said sausage on it my g friend told her about the sausage and I was done eating and I said it was t to late. There was no effort to fix the problem or take it off the bill. We are new to the area but this is the second time we recieved not up to par efforts. We won't be coming back.

The staff moves as slow as possible, and have no refills. Super slow. Wife had the prepacked, no seasoning, grocery store burger, and I had the hot dog with the wrong chili for chili dogs. It soaked through the bun, and it was as bland as just having a can of beans with cooked onions and green peppers. I am a chili and chili dog lover. This was sad. Their menu was huge, almost impossible to maintain freshness. Ribs, burgers, hot dogs, fish, pork tenderloin.....

Great food at amazing prices. Stopped by after work and it made the ride home a better ride.

Came in around 2:15pm. 4 other tables inside with 3 staff members. We were sat right away. We waited almost 15 minutes and was not greeted. Both servers made eye contact but surly made us feel as if we weren't there. We walked out passing the hostess/server wearing a green shirt. Who did not stop us, say a word or anything more or less. We drove up the road to city star diner and at 2:50 already have our drinks in hand and food order placed.

Dinner was not good. It took a party of 4 1.5 hours to eat. My burger was like shoe leather, and the fried fish was salty and very greasy. This was not an enjoyable experience.

Friendly service, good food, reasonable prices...overall good value. Still is a good value after pandemic. Recent visit not as good as past.

I ordered the meat lovers omelette, hash browns and toast, and it came out fast, fresh, and delicious, exactly as ordered. And the check was much cheaper than expected. This place has a very friendly staff despite the Sunday rush, and the menu is affordably priced. Makes me want to become a regular… if you found this review helpful, tip well and support local businesses!!!

Fabulous!! I knew what I wanted when I went in. Then I saw everyone else’s plates and immediately wanted everything on the menu!! 3 different dishes were ordered at our table. Every single one was delicious! Gyro, taco salad, and blue cheese bacon burger. Can't wait to get back to try other dishes!!!

Food is basic. And it tastes like cafeteria food.

I go all the time for dinner, love it. Went for luch and didn't love it so much. Ordered a Turkey sandwich on a Keiser roll with chips. Was not served on a Keiser roll, and the whole thing was very bland. My mother, on the other hand, had a cheesesteak sub and said it was excellent. She declined the side of fries so the waitress decided to give me the fries instead of my chips. After I asked her about the fries, all she said was they didn't cost anything since my mother didn't want them. I guess she thought I was getting the better of the deal. All I wanted was potato chips. I will return for dinner, One not so good meal out of 100, it happens. Won't be ordering the turkey sandwich again.

We stopped to get breakfast/brunch, has the feeling of home cooked diner. There's a lot of regulars from the greetings. The food was good can't really go wrong with country fried steak eggs and hash browns. There's enough for 2 meals on one plate. Well worth the stop

Always a winner!!! Stepped outside the box and had breakfast for lunch. Steak and eggs. Excellent! Not the most tender steak, but I didn't expect it. It WAS, however, extremely flavorful and delicious!

Ordered the Chilli and it was great, and hot temperature and good taste. Had Fried Chicken Wrap, it was good , the down side, they were out of Coke.

Very friendly staff. Food was great. They brought the wrong dish, but fixed it quickly without an issue.

My husband and I go there every Friday for haddock dinners. We love love love it!! It's not fancy it plays 50s music and I sing along....yes,I really do. The waitstaff seem to change quite often,but someone is always there to take our order and bring our food. They have takeout available too. We've never had a bad meal. Two thumbs up from us!!!!

I got the turkey commercial and the gravy was at literally concealed on top of the turkey and bread that I had to dig for. The side salad I had the peppers were moldy. Not a great experience will not go back there again.

On our way back home from a trip to Leesburg, we stopped in at Checkers across the street for dinner and they said their dining room was closed. We then went to Hardee’s and their dining room was flooded. They said just go thru the drive through but I don’t eat in my car. We decided to get back on Hwy 441 and stop somewhere in Eustis. As we started to pull out of the parking lot I saw the sign for Hwy 441 Diner in the plaza next to Joann Fabric. My grandson and I were hungry so we decided to give it a try. A hand written sign on the door read, Cash Only, ATM inside. We walked in not knowing what to expect. We opened the door and the dining room was filled with 50/60s memorabilia and retro boots and tables. There was a sign, wait to be seated, so we waited. About 5 mins later our waitress came up and said sit anywhere over there pointing to the right side of the dining room. We took a boot and sat down. The boots, table, and chairs were all in good condition and clean. The floor was black and white tile and it was clean and grease free. The music was 50s, 60s, and some early 70s genre and not to loud. Our server came by and asked us if we were drinking soda. It seamed to be a fair wait as their were 3 servers on the floor and about 9 tables occupied. We asked if they served anything else and she said tea, coffee and juice. We enquirer about the sweet tea and she said it was sweet and just brewed. We took two. She returned with our tea and asked if we were ready to order. We were and placed our order for a starter of onion rings, I ordered the Mushroom and Swiss Burger minus the bacon and it came with French fries. I was also interested in the Ruben but went with the burger instead. My grandson wanted the meatball sub but she could not tell us if their was pork in the meatballs. She went to the kitchen and returned about ten minutes later. She said there was no pork in the meatballs and my grandson ordered it. She put in our order and a few minutes later was back with a large plate of steaming onion rings. They were streaming and served with an onion ring sauce. The onion rings were some of the best I have ever had. The oil they were cooked in was fresh and had no aftertaste. They were piping hot and had a light batter with baking soda and fine yellow corn meal. My grandson hates any kind of onion raw or cooked and loved the onion rings too. We finished about half of them when our entrees arrived. I finished all the onion rings before moving onto the lightly seasoned fries. The fries were still hot and crispy on the outside and tender inside. They were also very good for French fries. The Mushroom and Swiss was wonderful. The bun looked like it came out of a magazine and my grandson, 8 yrs, even said it was a good looking bun. It was light and fluffy on the inside and had a slightly sweet flavor. It was firm and did not crumble. The beef patty was lightly cooked in the exterior and slightly pink on the interior. It was flavorful and juicy. The Swiss was an ample amount and was melted and gooey. It had a light Smokey flavor. The mushroom slices were browned and placed on the patty with grilled onions. A mushroom sauce would have been a nice addition. The burger came with mayonnaise, lettuce, and tomato. The lettuce was green and fairly crisp. The tomato was cut thick, firm, but not juicy or sweet. I loved the burger. Also one of the best I have had. My grandson ate most of his meatball sub and half of his fries. He said the sub was great but he would have liked more cheese on it. He said the sauce was thick and not sweet. Overall this is one of the better dining experiences I have had in Central Florida. I highly recommend this diner and look forward to trying it again.

Took forever to get my food to chicken was terrible it was frozen chicken out of a bag I watched five other people come in after I did and they all got their food before me and my family did and we set it there and waited and waited was totally disappointed

The 50's diner atmosphere is really cool. The food was amazing. The service was great. I recommend this place to anyone who likes to remember the good times. We continue to go back all the time since the first visit 6 plus years ago. We have never been disappointed.

Hubby's vegetarian olmlett & home fries w/onions was delicious. My Southern Benedict was absolutely great. Grilled biscuit split with a sausage patty and egg each half, smothered with country gravy and extra crispy hash browns. I asked for extra crispy hash browns and they were perfect. The mood music was 50-60's. Our first time there and we will definitely be back soon.

I really like the oldies theme and love their catfish, but I wish they'd clean it sometimes, especially the bathrooms. It makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like.

I've been to a lot of places like this but the food was the best of all of them.

After several years of not coming here, I decided to stop in today. I don't know why waitresses want to call people sweetie, baby, but I don't like it and I should have said something. I had an egg which was ok, bacon which you can see through and is tasteless, and coffee which had no flavor and was like colored water. Now I know why I haven't been here in years...won't stop in again especially for the prices....watered down coffee was more than the side of bacon

Indiana pork tenderloin is Amazing, YUMMO ...wings were recommended as well & were nice size & Yummy as well...server was great..this place was recommended to us & did not disappoint - we will be back 👍

Upon entering, I told the waitress where we wanted to sit. She said "no, I'm putting you over there". I said to her " We don't get to sit where we want?". With that, she put us where we wanted to go. Now, the diner is split into 2 sides. "Her" side, was packed, the other side had 2 tables out of a possible 20. She wasn't giving the other waitress any tables. The food was not very good. We got breakfast and it was very greasy.

An amazing place to stop by and enjoy a throwback to the classics, with well prepared food, whether it be modern or classic, the service is just as great, you can hardly go wrong.

Got the wings with fries 1wing was literally rotten and cooked with the other 9 and served.. discovering this and telling them about it got a cold response and a 3.00 discount on the meal...I am in food service...I would never allow old outdated food to be served...and then not properly acknowledging that there was a serious problem with the food served just made it worse and gives the look that it's a known and regular thing...we were not lying anyone with a nose could tell it was way off...this is not a good thing and a reacurring thing in restaurants lately. Last straw for me to many places I trust the food only to get food poisoning and then post a lie about it a month later how utterly pathetic

My daughter and I stopped after shopping at Joanns' and I have to say, the food was delicious, our server was very nice and would stop to see if we needed anything, and it is a very nice atmosphere. Kinda took me back in time, it was a nice feeling. I love diners like this, got to keep them around. I forgot to take pics of our meals 😔

The good was good. Nothing over the top. The only big complaint was the disgusting women's restroom.

Stopped in this little diner on the way back from St .Augustine Best burger and onion rings I think I have ever had . Such a cute little place .. was very impressed with the selection on the menu ! Sure do wish there was one closer to home , be worth the 60 mile drive to come back though!

I went there with my mom and my siblings. Our waitress took our order and didn't put it in for at least 20 minutes. But she managed to put in other peoples' orders (that were bigger) who came in after us. She was intoxicated, slurring her words, couldn't read her own handwriting, didn't listen to anything I said about my order. I'm actually sitting at the booth, typing this out. 10/29/2023 at 6:56pm. My food was undercooked and the side was completely wrong. I'm severely disappointed in my experience.

Shift change, printer in the kitchen didn't print our tickets for the cook, so things were slow. We were there around 3-3:30 so there were only us and 5 or 6 others. But we had a nice chat with an elderly lady in the next both. She eats there twice a week and loves it. My Ruben was delicious, my husband had the grilled cheese with bacon and tomato he said was really good, but the American cheese was white and not hardly melted. We had fried green beans as an app and they were yummy with their homemade ranch. I love the decor- the tables, booths, counter and spin stools were all edged in metal like in the 60's. Pics of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe graced the walls and antique cars and trucks topped the room divider. Very nostalgic. I loved it...reminded us of places when we were young.

I dropped in for coffee, 1st time, but the place had great atmosphere and the service was great.

Country Benedict was terrific, as was the plain biscuits and gravy. Home made WARM cinnamon roll was fantastic. Lots of toy antique cars and similar diner decor

Dropped my grandson off to 4H so i thought i would look for a place to have breakfast i found this place in a strip mall i was very suprised meal was great first time i had an omlet with crabmeat was very good. The waitress was very good and deserves a good review. Checked on me often even though they were busy. I will be back again.

The food was good, the server was nice, the atmosphere was comfortable.

I had the chicken wrap, it was okay but didn't have enough chicken to fill the wrap. Kind of expensive 13 bucks for 2 chicken tenders, a tortilla, some lettuce, and sause. It came with fries.

As always the food and the service was top rate.

We love this place. Service is excellent. You always feel so welcomed. We had friends from Miami they wanted good American breakfast. You nailed it again. Stop going to chain restaurants and come home to real food! Great service! Love it!

It has been about a year since our last visit to this restaurant. Such a disappointment. My wife ordered chopped steak well done. It came out as medium well and was sent back. When her plate came back there was still pink meat in it.when this was again pointed out to server, it was basically oh well. They didn't not even to remove the item from bill to make things right. The classic music which make the atmosphere of this restaurant so appealing was turned down so low as to be almost non existent.

I noticed that your menu prices are different on here from three years ago to a year ago. Could you update your menu on here to up to date. So we could see the price before we order. Thanks, D. R.

It used to be a great place to go. Prices are pretty good. The food isn't really bad but not great. The service leaves a lot to be desired. But don't blame the waitresses. It's been declining for years. Management is where it starts. And, we get the same mediocre service, at best,with different waitresses.

Got haddock and it was dry, fries were not good. Daughter had chicken tenders, nasty. No refills on things. This is why we stayed away. Son wanted to come. Now he knows why we stay away. Service and food sucks. Will not be back.

Everytime that I have been there, the food and service is awesome. Kids love the model cars that they have. Everything is too notch. Will definitely be going back again, probably this weekend. Thank you for all y'all do to make this a home style experience

Totally ridiculous! Our waitress (blue hair) basically called us out in front of the whole restaurant over not being able to leave a tip. She kept on for about 10 minutes. I didn't think employee's were supposed to treat customers like that. The meal took all the money I had at the time so I didn't have anything to give for a tip at the time.

Beans were cold, no cornbread so I had to order a ham and cheese. Not what I was hoping. City Diner was better.

It doesn't take much to impress me I had a phenomenal experience our waitress was super nice on point with everything the food was delicious the home Fry's were so flavorful my mom's salad looked delicious and my grandma said her gyro was delicious

The servers are excellent and the kitchen is fast with our orders. Very pleased with there food. We will go back.
