Got 2 sides of Mac and cheese both of them together is less than 1 side I would’ve gotten at another restaurant. Been vegan for 5 years I’ve been to over 1000 vegan restaurants. This was the smallest portion of food I ever got. And the bbq jackfruit sandwich was extremely tiny as well. Really wanted to love this place but they need to do better with their portions. The hibiscus drink tasted like water. Every time I get hibiscus drinks they are sweetened with agave but this one tasted like just water and food coloring. Also the empanadas have xanthan gum in it which is a very dangerous ingredient they put it in toothpaste. When swallowed it can cause digestive issues. Be careful ordering empanadas from here

Paula makes the most delicious vegan comfort food. I am NOT a vegan, and I still love everything she makes. The Cuban sandwich and Mac and Cheez are my favorites, as well as the Brussels sprouts. Be sure to check out some of the tasty desserts and the purple butterfly tea as well. The restaurant is located in Palmetto in a cute historic building, which is always fun to visit. Whether you're a vegan, vegetarian, or carnivore, I highly recommend visiting Happy Soul!

We met a beautiful soul & spirit (Paula) today at this new Vegan discovery in Palmetto, FL (Sarasota, Bradenton area). Thank you so much for the love shown in your food, customer service and conversation... You already know we're family 😜 now. We'll definitely be back. Go check her out... 6 years and going on 66 more ... That's what she said. Lol 😆 It is well in our Souls today... Let's eat!

Great place to enjoy a vegan meal!

Holy guacamole. Just kidding. I didn't have any guacamole. But the burger I had was absolutely out of this world!!! I had the Jaffe burger with Brussel sprouts and a Lavender Tea. Absolutely amazing. Brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection. Bread on the Jaffe burger was crisp and flaky, and the texture on the patty was thorough, consistent and it was even juicy too! Top it off with their homemade seasoning and aioli, you might forget you're eating a vegan burger. So flavorful and fresh. Huge portions, lovingly made. No doubt about it. My only suggestion would be maybe less ice in the Tea? As I found myself definitely craving more! Give this place a go, you'll feel like a king afterwards. Or maybe just a happy soul. :)

Drove 45 minutes twice when the site said the restaurant was open. Closed both times. Only voice mail when you call.

I ordered an amazing Cuban sandwich and empanada. Both were very good and I will go back. Loved chatting with the owner. She was very knowledgeable and truly a "Happy Soul".

I like the happy soul. The owner was cool and the food was great. Worth it.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Amazing food, service, and quantity! Thank you Paula for catering our sons birthday party! Our guests enjoyed the vegan BBQ jackfruit sliders, mac & cheeze, & potato salad. Vegans and non-vegan alike were all impressed. And the best thing, we had leftovers after all of the party madness. HIGHLY recommend for any party you are throwing. And one of the best parts, she delivered to our house the morning of the party. Cannot recommend enough!

I was delighted to find this little gem with several vegan options. The Cuban is the perfect lunch! The hibiscus tea is the best I’ve ever had so def order it!

I love this place! It’s always clean. Her deserts are delicious and the food is fantastic. I almost always get the jackfruit bbq sandwich with truffle fries and it is a generous amount of food. Thank you so much for always doing a great job. I’m never disappointed.

Ordered the Cuban and truffle French fries. The taste is awesome, very flavorful. Unfortunately the bread was "wet" in some spots and the fries were limp, prefer mine a bit more done. I'll go back, though, and give it another try.

My mom loved every bit of her experience there. Now mom is looking to get jackfruit to try and cook at home. Best vegan place I ever been to💯❤️

I have been curious about this place for a while so I stopped in for lunch today. I ordered the truffle fries and Jaffe burger. The seasoning on the fries made them a little too salty for my own personal preference so I only ate a few of them. The burger was delicious and full of flavor !! I look forward to returning.

I frequent this establishment all the time. Lovely owner and even better food. If your food is not to your desire she will always make it work to your liking!

Read wonderful reviews and was very excited to try a vegan place so close to home. Lovely lady, wonderful smells emanating from this cute little establishment. Had a pressed Cuban with brussels sprouts. The brussels sprouts were delicious although quite oily. Pressed Cuban although flavorful, was very disappointing. $21 for two big pieces of Cuban bread with hardly any vegan fixins inside. Perhaps just caught her on a day when she was running out? For that amount of money, that sandwich should be brimming over w/ vegan cheese, ham, pickles, banana peppers. See pic.

Half of the food was decent. The sweet potato fries were delicious with cinnamon sugar and an extra sweet dipping sauce, so they were more like a dessert. The chicken wrap was bland and did not come as described (no spinach wrap.) The Cuban sandwich was tasty but it came with almost no toppings, entirely missing the banana peppers. It was disappointing. Mac and cheese was a miss.

My first visit here + I am blown awsy. Paula the chef and I think propierter really does a terrific job. I had bbq jackfruit sandwich + mashed cauliflower,her use of is sublime. All I can say i yum yum. I shall rrturn.

We decided to make a pit stop on our way back from a trip after finding Happy Soul online. What an awesome decision that was! The owner was super sweet and made us the most delicious food! My husband nearly wept after biting into his vegan cuban sandwich, it was that good! He even commented how vegan or not, it was the best cuban he'd ever eaten. Thank you for feeding us! We will for sure be back next time we are up that way!

All totally Vegan. It was off the road trip for us but worth it.

Excellent vegan Cuban Sandwich and one tasty vegan carrot cake cupcake. The service was very good and hospitable.

When I went there the owner was dealing with a difficult catering order, I’m assuming, on the phone so I had to wait a few moments before she took my order. She was very patient with whomever it was on the phone because she kept answering the same questions multiple times, bless her heart. Ordering was quick. My food just took forever to come out. She seems to be having some kind of electrical issue and that’s not fair for her. Anywho, I had a burger and sweet potato fries. The fries were cinnamon sugar sweet with almost like a marshmallow sauce which completely threw me off. I was not expecting that. The burger was pink on the inside which also threw me off because it already looked like a traditional burger but for it to mimic a medium rare burger was strange. Both items tasted great though. The burger was gone after the first bite. I don’t want to accuse anyone of anything but I was a bit gassy the next day and that only happens when I eat dairy. I mainly eat raw veggies and all I had was that burger with “cheese”, I’m going to leave that at that. The sweet potatoes seem hand cut so cooking them from raw in an AF, is time consuming and I wish I was given a better time estimate on when my food would have actually been finished.

Last night I had catering by Happy Soul delivered to my party. It was absolutely fantastic! Food was delivered right on time. The catering trays I got were phenomenal. Very generously portioned and a good value for the money. But best of all was how it tasted. I had mini Cubans, empanadas, BBQ jackfruit, Mac & cheese, carrot cake cupcakes, and the best collard/kale greens I've ever had in my life. The food was seasoned so deliciously. I'm sure this business is going to do well. I can't wait to go get more food from here. Love, love, love it! Thank you Paula!

Those vegan empanadas were freaking incredible.! It’s nice to find a place that knows how to make really good vegan food. I will be back over and over again. And I am not a vegan.

You have to check this place out, vegan or not. The food was absolutely amazing, we had the meatloaf, cauliflower mash, and brussels sprouts. We also sampled an amazing cupcake! Mrs.Tromp is so kind and helped us to decide what to get and put up with our indecisiveness. We were visiting from Texas but would come back in a heart beat if ever in the area again.

While on vacation in the area, Happy Soul was one of our first stops! The owner was an absolute treasure to talk with while our order was being prepared. Don't let the façade fool you; this is no fast food joint and the food is AMAZING! It tasted like home cooking and the flavors were so, so good. We had empanadas, Cuban and Philly sandwiches, Butterfly Lemonade, and the desserts of the day all of which were delicious! We will definitely be stopping during our next vacation.

Absolutely delicious. Philly and Cuban sandwiches were amazing. It was my moms first vegan sandwich ever and I definitely picked the right place for it! Brussel sprouts- super great! Purple lemonade was so yummy. The owner single handedly made everything herself, took a little long because of this but it was so worth it.

This place was delicious and a fantastic surprise to find in little old Palmetto. I had the Cuban and an Empanada and was not disappointed. I only wish it had been around while I was still living there. There might be a little wait for your food, but take a nice stroll by the water while you wait and give the place a shot! I'll certainly be back next time I'm in town.
