Food and wine were great, hospitality was welcoming, atmosphere was wonderful. We had a great time celebrating our 1year. Definitely will be back.

Authentic Italian food. If your burnt out due to common menu food come try here. Had chicken cacciatore while my wife had pesto pasta with shrimp. Plenty of serving size and leftovers.

What a great find! The Tiramisu is out of this world. The pasta with pesto, pistachios and shrimp is a home made home run. The attention to service and warmth of this place are hard to find. Coming back! 👍🏻😊

Surprisingly, very good. unusual location, but we are happily surprised we went inside and the food was very tasty and the waiters very friendly and helpful. Food is fresh. I’m glad I found this place. A great local place to go to.

7/9/24- excellent Italian food and good service. The Italian food was very authentic and it was very similar to Italian food when I was in Italy a month prior. The meatballs were beyond perfect and the veal was very tender. Tiramisu was also great.

Wow wow wow! This place was the most authentic Italian food I’ve had. My SECOND favorite is Naplé in Sarasota. This restaurant had it all and for a great price. It was so amazing, a true gem. I had the lasagne special with sausage, broccoli, and a cream sauce. My husband got the linguine special with shrimp, muscles, and asparagus. My mom got the veal that had the mushroom cream sauce on the menu. Everything was so Flippin good.. I was planning on going on a diet next week, but I think I’m gonna have to continue to cheat just to go back to this place!! My word… the only thing that was not fantastic was the tiramisu which I did not get a picture of. It wasn’t very cake soaked with espresso. It had a lot of cream. Regardless it was good, but I would not get that again.

It is hard to find a good place deserving 5 stars but this one definitely deserves. We tried carbonara, ragú, linguini with pesto pistachio and shrimp and carpaccio, everything was delicious. Fresh baked Bread 🥖 and great service

I was looking for a nice quiet place to eat dinner. I came up on this restaurant it was perfect. The atmosphere is very nice and elegant. The food was good over all. If you're looking for homestyle Italian food and wine this is a great place to dine. Reasonable prices for some good Italian food.

FANTASTIC. Had the gnocchi in mushroom sauce with sausage and lasagna Bolognese! Don't pass this place by. So delicious. Servers are so kind. Try the Italian blond ale beer, yummy..who knew!! Ten 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Hard to say what was better, the food or the service. It was the best eggplant parmesan I ever tasted. Prompt, friendly and knowledgeable service. I'll definitely be back.

Best Italian food I’ve had since actual Italy. It’s soooo good. Service was great. Food was high quality and obviously homemade. Even the table bread & butter was special. We had the 2 versions of lasagna so we could share & try both types. Both were drool-worthy and will be craving until the next time we can go! Such a cute interior too… setting is an old house converted. I just loved every minute! Update: I went again tonight with my Mom this time. We both enjoyed our dinner immensely! She had the classic lasagna and I had the special which was Gnocchi with Shrimp. Soo soo good. Excellent service and atmosphere!

Listen when I say that the food is above and beyond, I love me some Italian but this is a very different Italian. Words can NOT describe how delicious the food was. Just take my word for it and stop by I promise you won't be disappointed.

Our table of 8 had a wonderful dinner. The food was fresh, cooked to perfection and delivered on time. Both the warm toasty crusty bread and salads were crisp and plentiful. Additional servings of the delicious bread were brought to the table without delay. The spaghetti with pistachio pesto shrimp sauce was perfectly al dente and light. The veal parm was the best my wife had in a very long time. The gnocchi in a red sauce, one of the specials of the night, was perfectly cooked and delicious. A large portion of pappardella with bolognese sauce was excellent and worth bringing home . The wait staff was friendly, and attentive without being obtrusive. This was a great find for us, one of only a few that accepted reservations and is definitely worth a trip back. Jim S

I walk in at 920 on a Friday night and they wouldn't serve me. They said they were closed. Worst restaurant

Cozy little restaurant with Italian fare. Very cool to visit once.

We had a 6:30 reservation for 4 people celebrating a birthday .Arrived on time and ordered a bottle of wine . 10 min later we wanted to order some appetizers .Waiter insisted on ordering our main course at the same time even though we were not ready . The whole meal was very rushed .And here is the kicker .At around 7:45 we were told we have to leave because our table was reserved although we had ordered another bottle of wine which was not even half finished .Our bill was over $200 . Asking us to leave was a first for us. It left a very taste and literally spoiled the evening for us . We are locals and dine out very frequently .This place will never sees us again .

We had been here once before when they reopened. We were overjoyed with the Food and Service. The Veal-with Mushrooms was delectable and the Pistachio Pesto Shrimp dish was amazing. Great Job!!!

Enjoy an authentic Italian meal in Palmetto at a reasonable price

Unfortunately our dinner last night was very disappointing — from the 20 minute wait until the server took our order — without telling us that there were any specials; to the small portions that were served to us — to the below quality of the food. Charging an additional $8 for chopped up shrimp in your Fettuccine Alfredo is excessive when it probably didn’t even equal but 3-4 shrimp at the most — that is when I could even find the little pieces of shrimp. And 3 pieces of flat veal, less than a total of 3 oz in your Scaloppine ai funghi porcini with less than a decent helping of linguini for $31 is ridiculous. As two local patrons that have been in the food industry, one for over 60 years and the other for over 20 years as a chef, we know and understand the restaurant business and were less than impressed with your establishment. We are always looking for local restaurants to support and boost; yours will not be one of them. In good conscience, we can not and will not recommend your restaurant to anyone.

We’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, I only wished we’d tried it sooner. Everyone was kind and attentive, the atmosphere was lovely, and the food was great. I could tell the pasta was homemade. Everything was delicious! We can’t wait to come back.

Incredible. Authentic Italian dining. Exceptional food, exceptional service, and exceptional atmosphere. I ordered the special, which was lobster ravioli, which was beautiful. Full of flavour, wonderfully seasoned, and exquisite taste. A wonderful experience, and will definitely be returning. Great prices, great food, great people, the perfect spot for date night.

For the second time, my family and I had an absolutely perfect dinner at Ragu Cucina Italiana. We made a reservation for 9, and we were immediately seated as soon as we arrived. Warm crunchy bread was promptly served as our orders got taken. Various antipasti & hot entrees arrived with perfect temperature and timing, and were amazingly tasty and fresh. Service was top notch. I will come back many times. Bringing even more people!

A little peace of Italy that can bring you a huge experience. A place for those who love's really family and good Italian food. Great ragu, delicious Parmesan veal, lasagna, and many others. The bread "fire oven" liked and the carpaccio are unforgettable. Enjoy one, two, ten times. Thank you for bring Italy's here!

I was excited to try this restaurant. It was very disappointing to the quality, presentation, and taste. I will not go back and most definitely not recommend. Dry under cooked pasta and dessert was a very big let down. 😢

We have driven past this place many times and at long last decided to have an early Sunday dinner. It was fabulous. Everything we had was delicious and the service was spot on. Our only regret is not going here sooner. Do yourself a favor and try it out instead of driving by.

What an amazing food experience we hat at Ragu today. It’s an original Italian restaurant. Amazing food, all housemade, no caned tomato sauce. An italian olive oil jar at the table, like any good italian restaurant, perfect cannolis for dessert and a Lavazza expresso at the end. Beautiful place and great service as well. Price was good considering the products quality. Its not a restaurant to be compared to a Olive Garden chain, lol. It’s an authentic italian cuisine. We will be back soon! Grazie mille Gianmarco!

Unexpectedly delightful dinner at Ragu. We were driving around after Halloween crawl, and decided to stop for a bite. Such as amazing service, and the food was delicious. We had the carpaccio for starters, then 2 special entrees - the Pumpkin Fettuccine and White Lasagna. Absolutely wonderful. You have to try it before it goes away!

1st time here, loved it, nice ambience, has a nice romantic flair, owners are Italian abd the food is authentic and priced fairly. You can reserve via Google and it was seamless. Una Bella culinary Italiana 😉✌🏽

Beautiful Charming restaurant with great service and delicious food

I have been wanting to come to this restaurant since it opened. My husband and I finally got a night out by ourselves so we went for dinner. We had the Panzanella for an appetizer. Then for dinner, I had linguine pesto de pistachio gambrei (pesto with shrimp and pistachios). My husband had chicken Alfredo. The pasta is also homemade! For dessert we had mini cannolis and tiramisu . It was absolutely delicious! The staff and service was amazing. The restaurant has a very cozy feeling and makes you feel like you’re in Italy. Definitely a must go to!! We will be back again soon!

This spot is hidden in the cut. We saw it and were in the mood for some Italian sooooo.. Why not? First thing we noticed when we walked in was how clean and bright it is. The server was very pleasant and attentive. He gave gave us our space but made sure we were ok. We had the meatball appetizer and the Fettucini Alfredo with chicken added. The homemade pasta was very tasty and cooked perfectly. The Sauce was delicious!! The chicken was just ok for me. That being said Id order the dish again and maybe add shrimp instead. We also had the eggplant appetizer and gnocchi in marinara sauce. All of it was delicious! It's a bit pricey but for the quality and quantity of food we received we didn't go home with regrets. It's a perfect place for a date night. I definitely recommend Ragu's give it a try, I think you'll be happy you did.

Enjoyed our first trip to Ragu. The food tasted okay (on par with Olive Garden) and the portions were generous. The service and atmosphere was top notch. Afraid the prices simply aren't competitive with other area restaurants. $8 for a bottle of beer! If they lower their prices a bit we will probably dine here again, but until that happens we'll dine elsewhere.

This is a MUST experience. The food is absolutely devine. Do a wine tasting with your dinner! Perfecto selections of Italian white and red wines. The owners are from Italy... The real deal.

we just discovered this wonderful restaurant right in our own backyard! The food is authentic, fabulous, and fresh. The dining experience is lovely- table linens, perfect glasses, excellent lighting and delightful music, all in a lovely old historic home setting. The salads were crisp and fresh and the pasta cooked perfectly. The service is outstanding. My husband had mixed salad and lasagna bolognese and I had panzanella and carbonara. Everything was excellent. We are now going to be regulars. If you want a lovely quiet and unrushed meal, this is your place, too!

Wow! It was like I time traveled right to Italy. This place is adorable, service was amazing and the food was delicious! All of the wine is Italian and if you order a bottle it is served in a decanter. The food portions were large leaving us with to go boxes and lunch for the next day. The bread they serve before the meal is so yummy and all of the dinners my party ordered were a hit. Anytime I need a good meal out or have company in town visiting this is where I will be going.

This place is a well kept secret! The owners are Italian and know how to make authentic Italian Cuisine. Our server was so kind and warm. We both ordered the special. Beautiful small restaurant. The staff was exemplary and helpful, true Italians. The food was impeccable. Not a lot of people dining, but that is only because of the location. If it was in a slightly better location, Ragù would be packed.

We kept driving past this place while on vacation. It looked like a very well kept house, but with restaurant signage. My friend said she had heard that it wasn't that good, so I googled it. It had great reviews so we thought we would give it a try. When it was the day we had planned to go there, the parking lot was empty and that made us nervous. We decided to go downtown and have a martini before dinner then we decided to go and give it a try. The inside was just a beautiful as the outside. Very elegant dining atmosphere. The server was attentive and very polite. The food was amazing. I love italian food, but am sensitive to red sauce. The special was a white sauce chicken lasagna. I was super excited that I had an option besides fettuccine alfredo. I cannot describe how it tasted. The noodles were thin and light. It was so good I refused to leave any on my plate.

My family of six and I went in about an hour before close and the service was amazing. Very kind and attentive. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. I do feel it was more suited for a date night but my family and I had an amazing time regardless. The food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the Carbonara which was perfect, best I've ever had. Several in my family ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and it was the best sauce we've ever had, amazing sauce to pasta ratio. Some also had the classic Lasagna and the Lasagna with the sauce of the day. Both were delicious! Portion sizes were also perfect, not too much but not too little. A little bit on the pricier side but definitely worth it. We WILL be coming back!

WOW....an amazing meal. I came here with 2 friends who are Italian. To begin with we share the Panzanella & Caprese which were both delicious. Each of us ordered a different dish & we tasted each others and everything was so delicious. We had the linguine pesto di pistacchio, the lasagna ragu bolognese and one of their specials - the losbster stuffed ravioli. We were all stuffed & couldn't order dessert. Gabriele was a great server. The atmosphere was very nice. All 3 of us plan to return.

Delicious! We went with a group and loved the atmosphere. I hope they do expand their menu more but the linguine with pistachios was superb. Plus the espresso after dinner was delightful, not bitter at all. The bolognese, from what we heard from others at our table, was some of the names they have ever had. Definitely recommend.

The food surpassed all our expectations! If you want authentic Italian food, this is the spot! We went for our anniversary and had a great experience. The bacon was an awesome addition to the caesar salad. The gnocchi bolognese was pillowy and light. The chicken parm was crispy and fresh. We thought it couldn’t get better until we had the cheesecake with mixed berries. Absolutely perfect. The service was a good pace for us. We can’t wait to visit again when we’re in the area. This is a hidden gem. It's a very cozy but classy atmosphere inside. The guys running it are actually Italian and, as you might expect, the food is really good. I had a meatball appetizer and lasagna and it was absolutely fantastic. It's a bit pricey but appropriate for the quality and quantity of food you receive. Service is good and attentive but not overly so. It's really a perfect place for a date night for that special someone. I hope this place makes it, it's the best Italian food I've had in a very long time, maybe ever. Give it a try, I think you'll be glad you did.

Our first experience was here on Mothers day and it was delightful. Food, service and atmosphere was great. Prices are comparable to any other place in the area. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Wow, where do I begin. This place deserves no stars. There is no chef, only someone in the kitchen who doesn’t know how to cook. I wouldn’t trust them to make a grilled cheese. The wine list doesn’t have brands, and the wines sit in the sun with pushed up corks. The Panzanella was $13 for 4 bite size crostini? Canned olives and some diced tomato, not even Basil? Oof. The ragu was very reminiscent of chef Boyardee, flavorless and no trace of onion or carrot, the meat was poor quality. Veal was 3 tiny slivers, dry, overcooked, and Almost boiled looking. The sauce was milk and flour. That’s it, no flavor no seasoning. Not even a proper bechamel. Highlight was the bread and butter, and the service was very kind. I still tipped 20% and paid for everything. I consider it to be worth the $70 to never have to go back.

Stopped in for an anniversary dinner and they delivered. Great food, service is on point and they have the best Tiramisu! I highly recommend this place!

First off the Food was fine, I have had better. My pasta was better than my fiancés. Also never got the bread they said they were going to drop off. The downside is the service as it left so much to be desired. Dropped off one thing of water when we sat down. Took our order delivered the food and never saw them again. Had to find them to get our bill so we could pay and leave.

I arrived a week ago in Sarasota, they recommended this restaurant in Palmetto, I found a young and attentive staff, very nice and helpful, on the other hand everyone from Rome, the fabulous cuisine, all very authentic, I was pleasantly surprised, recommended

Best Italian food in the area we have found in YEARS. If you want authentic this is your place! There was several students from IMG, who were from from Italy, and said this was like being home. Great service and we will be coming back. And great portions!
