Joel's coffee shop is a great little spot open late in downtown Newberry. Gabe O. made a great cup of coffee and gave great customer service. They have several seating areas for you to relax and talk with friends or catch up on work. If you find yourself in town go by and get a cup of coffee. They use cafe Brit roasters for their coffee.

Exactly what you should expect at an independent coffee house

I really enjoy the coffee here. It's a warm welcoming space and everyone's friendly and nice. They're slow when busy but they make it worth the wait. Delicious.

Young lady suggested a latte that was very good although not hot enough for me. Price was too high for me to be a steady customer.

I am from Belgium. We love coffee. Good coffee. Like in a French press. As they serve in Italy and Portugal. Small cups. Not huge paper mugs. I had a cortado at Joel's. The best ever in the continental US. And served with love. Go visit this place ! Vaut le detour.

Hidden gem--really enjoyed my time at Joel's Coffeehouse and recommend a visit. Following my standard 10-point coffee shop matrix, I'm giving Joel's a 4 out of 5 for coffee quality. I've only had the standard drip, so this score could go down to a 3 or go up to a 5. Environment is top-tier... easily a 3 out of 3. And finally customer service was 2/2--the young lady was welcoming and kind. This totals Joel's up to a 9/10... which is a really good score relative to other shops in the greater Gainesville area. I'm inclined to think they're more like an 8/10, but until they prove me wrong I'm keeping them here.

This is such a lovely, cozy place to relax with a delicious cup of coffee! I love coming here to either socialize or work in a peaceful environment.

Peaceful and beautiful coffee shop set inside a very homey atmosphere. This is my first time visiting and, although it's a bit far from where I live, I'll definitely return to chill and enjoy some very nice coffee.

We loved it! Very quaint and calming atmosphere. Their coffee is great, with many options. They also serve beer and wine! Definitely recommend this place for a study day or hanging outside by the fire pit.

The coffee quality is absolutely fantastic. The owners and the team members are so awesome that even if the coffee was bad I would still come back. Would highly recommend this location.
