I have been to this place 3 times and everytime it exceeds my expectations! I have tried different menu items each time I have gone and have yet to be disappointed! The atmosphere is relaxing and fun. And the entire staff are always happy and seem to genuinely love working there. I can't say enough good things about this place!

The service was excellent, prices are good and food tasted great. Food came out quick! Best part... queso isn't runny and the decor is very nice. Great little place to stop. Only reason not 5 star is that the chimichanga was a little small.

Ordered make your plate two tacos one burrito and carne Asada the two chicken tocos were so so greasy tasted bad and was dripping on table and my carne asada was paper thin and burnt. Told showed it to the lady took our order she said that is ok . I told her no it is NOT ok . I just don’t go back and surest you to think twice before you waste 60 dollars on bad food .

We stepped in at 850pm and was treated like they had just opened. The food came out fast, fresh and hot. Prices are reasonable.

It was recommended by a friend. Everything was just what they said it was. We'll be back!

Out-of-towners found this gem thx to Google search. Was VERY happy with everything about our visit. We had beer, horchata, quesadilla, and chimichanga. Our waitress Leyane, Victor (manager?), and others, ensured that our meal was great. Very reasonable prices. [Am looking forward to my leftovers] Highly recommended.

Randomly stopped in and the Margarita and food I got was amazing. Marg was actually spicy and refreshing, and the food was a good sized portion, quick and delicious. This will be my new spot for Mexican cuisine for sure

Came by to visit from NC and it was delicious! We came in late night and the food had tons of flavor and was very fresh. For sure authentic!! The music is good too! Would recommend anyone in the area to try this place out. 🌟

Located in a strip mall a lot of parking. Rice and refried beans were good, black beans also were good. Service was a hit or miss, our original waitress was great but then another waitress ended up bringing out our food and that is where the “miss” happened. We order birria tacos and other Mexican style “regular” tacos, I had to ask her for the birria taco sauce, I also asked for salsa verde “green salsa” she then brought me red salsa which I already had from the previous waitress 🤷‍♀️ I asked her again and she said they don’t have green salsa 😮 I then asked who I thought the manager was and he brought me salsa verde 🙏🏼 👌 it doesn’t have any spice to it which I am fine with I just prefer the green as it doesn’t mess with my stomach 🤢 and the flavor of the tomatillos are delicious on tacos! Overall food was good,atmosphere was welcoming and comfy, prices are decent… we will go back 💕also $2.99 Taco Tuesday special was nice, it only applies to Mexican or American style tacos tho not the “speciality tacos”🌮 It would be great to have salsa verde option with or without spice as I know a ton of people who cannot eat ANY red sauces. 👍

I have been to many Mexican and Spanish restaurants, but I must say that La Costa tops them all. I had some tacos, drank Jamaica, and the nachos were absolutely delicious—more than just delicious! I was treated like Royalty. The service is top notch…❤️❤️❤️

Authentic and savory dinners Priced right !

I ABSOLUTELY loved this restaurant! The woman who greeted us was super sweet and was constantly refilling drinks and chips! The food was also super good! I got the pizza birria which was a lot of food but it was so amazing!!! 1000000/10 I definitely recommend!

Visited La Costa for lunch today to celebrate a colleague’s birthday. We were promptly seated and presented with the obligatory chips and salsa. The chips were fresh. The salsa tasted fresh with just the right amount of heat. Our waitress was pleasant and took great care of us. Our food came out quickly and hot! And man was it yummy. We left with our bellies full and happy.

Rudy was ok he just doesn't know what the specials are and how much they cost I was told one thing and I was charged another When I pointed it out to him on my ticket he's like, " oh sorry," I just won't be going back

Lovely place, very well decorated, and the staff are great. The place has a lot of soul, the food is very good, my only quarrel was that the nachos were leaning onto salty and the fajitas could have used a little salt, but everything else was perfect. There was even a fella playing some live latin music on the violin. If you're looking for a Mexican place on Jacksonville Beach, this is the place. Highly recommend it.

I like the restaurant but the meals are not very preparatory, especially in the tacos, the tortillas are very cold and that does not give much flavor

We visited this wonderful restaurant twice on our trip to Jax Beach. Everything on the menu was excellent and the steak burrito was spectacular and the size was huge.. We loved the atmosphere and the waitress was very friendly and nice

Careful with this place. Came here for dinner before joining a larger group for a going away celebration. Dinner: food was great. A bit overpriced compared to other local me ican restaurants, but tasty. Service: not up to par. OK, but not attentive and slow, especially when we asked for the check. Watched server bussing tables and serving drinks before bringing our check AFTER WE ASKED FOR IT. #fail Larger group experience: this establishment is not prepared for your larger group. Drinks were slow food was slow and inaccurate. Then the server brought my wife a shot and said it was because she had to wait. He then proceeded to charge us for it. The kicker: he charged us more than the special price listed on the board outside for Tuesday specials. Stay away until they figure out their service issues. Positives: the girl singing was very talented and engaging. The food was good and a decent amount. Recommendation: Cantina Louie, taco lu or 1810 tacos and tequila

I don’t usually review but in this situation I feel like I should mostly because this place was disappointing. We were recommended to check this place out by sister who’s been several time when the place just opened and she’s had nothing but a great experience up until yesterday, we were all excited to try this place out for our first time and bring our dad for his birthday. We drove from Middleburg to try out this restaurant. The waitress was not kind , she was looking annoyed the entire time, making you uncomfortable to ask for anything that you might need. She was short I wasn’t not pleased by her service at all. Not to sure if she didn’t care how she served us because she was going to get an automatic 20% gratuity for a party of 6. We ordered a Parillada for $40 but it had missing items, like the octopus ( which I was excited to try) and the sausage. The carnitas were tough and hard to chew, they tasted old like it was food from the previous day. We all came out pretty disappointed especially with the way the waitress was starting us down on our way out with a stank face.

The food is delicious, it's the second time I've been here and both times everything has been delicious... Starting with Oscar who was the one who greeted us at the door, very friendly and dedicated to his customers, followed by Erick, the waiter, who served us wonderfully... I would return again and again. times... even the margarita was delicious

Some of the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. I live on the Northside, the restaurant is near Jax Beach. I must have passed 20 or more .Mexican restaurants just to go to theirs that ought to tell you how good they are. The staff is really friendly the food taste authentic. The restaurant is very clean. The prices are reasonable. The drinks are amazing, the portion sizes are generous. I highly recommend.

Soooooo Good! I’ve been looking for a place like this, I used to live in so many states with good Mexican food, Jacksonville was the worst. Expensive margaritas that does not taste good and very low portions. This place is my new margarita spot. Food was delicious too, and service at this time was good, we will see is the keep it up. Highly recommended!!!!!! I will renew my post if something changes.

*Edit: Started out strong but starting to fall off on the bar seevice. We sat for at least 10 min, not so much as a hello or smile thrown our way. In walks a friend of the bartender and suddenly he has time to greet his friend and only his friend despite us being right next to him still no acknowledgement. This was Tuesday night and not as busy as usual. We ended up leaving after being ignored by multiple people. I hope it changes the food is so good. (Original review) The Enchaladas Verdes (called something else) is top tier. I've had quesadillas, tacos, Seafood tacos, burrito, fajitas and all werethood! But I've traveled for work and eaten all-over the country and can confidently say the enchiladas here are the best! The drinks are perfectly balanced and not too heavy and not too much mixer. This is my go to Mexi spot from now on!

Pleasantly surprised! Food was great and everyone was friendly. We had the chicken bowl with cilantro sauce. It was really good. Also, a burrito with chicken and steak...wow loved it. Steak was tender as the chicken was on both orders. Cilantro sauce is out of this world. Definitely will be back.

It's so pretty inside, the service is friendly and attentive and the food is outstanding. I love me some Mexican food, and I think this place is my new favorite. I had fajita nachos (on special for $12.99 on Sundays) and every part of it was delicious. The steak, chicken and shrimp were grilled to perfection and bursting with flavor. The chips were also outstanding. The perfect crunch and consistency and cooked perfectly as well. Salsa was delicious and a little bit spicy. My fiance had Arroz con Pollo and the chicken was cooked perfectly and seasoned a little bit differently than on my nachos. I can't wait to come back and try the other items on the menu! I HIGHLY recommend La Costa!

New to the Jacksonville Beach area, my wife and I are on a fast and furious restaurant tour. Today we decided to give La Costa Mexican Cantina a try. As luck would have it, we came in around 6:30 on Thursday and it was surprisingly not busy. (Not yet anyway.) With a warm greeting, Daniel, also our server, seated us. Right off the bat, the things we noticed and liked were the lighting, openness, and cleanliness of the restaurant. We also enjoyed the whole “vibe” there. Music in the background, which was festive, upbeat, and not overpowering. Daniel offered us menus and we ordered queso dip with chips to start. He told us about the day’s drink specials which were a variety of mojitos and a watermelon Marguerita. Our first round were mojitos: I had the cherry; my wife had a mango. Our second round of drinks were the Margueritas. Large drinks, with a good quantity of alcohol. And even though I really do not enjoy Mango or watermelon flavors whatsoever, all three of our drinks were surprisingly delicious. For our meal, we came in with the full intention of ordering Chimichangas, but for giggles asked Daniel for his recommendations. He said the Chimichangas are really good but what he really wanted us to try was the Molcajete - a dish with steak, chicken, shrimp, chorizo, fish, jalapenos, cheese, and jalapenos and served with a side of rice, refried beans, salad, and tortillas. I know what I like and usually stick with whatever I was craving when I come to any restaurant. This time, we decided to take a flier from our server and follow his recommendation. Boy was that a money choice!! The Molcajete arrives in a bubbling dish. Envision a small cauldron. The presentation is impressive. Strips of marinated steak, chicken, edible cactus hanging from the side like an alien flower. In the midst of all that bubbling goodness--more meat, onions, shrimp, chorizo, fish, cheese, jalapenos, and everything else. It is a two-person dish and trust us on this, the portion is very generous. To briefly return to our service. Daniel was attentive, accommodating, friendly and cared about the restaurant, his job, and our experience. Whatever we needed, he was right there. He was so thorough, we felt guilty for how hard he was working. During our meal, another gentleman named Oscar asked us how our meal was and if there was anything else we needed. Like Daniel, Oscar gave wonderful charm and customer service, making us feel so welcome and valued as customers. That seems obvious, but I have eaten at numerous restaurants that unfortunately did not. Oscar greeted every customer coming inside, most, obviously regular patrons—as if he knew every one of them personally. We even met Victor, the owner, who passed by to share his appreciation of us choosing to dine with them. Start to finish this was an exceptional experience, and La Costa Mexican Cantina became one of our instant favs! Fantastic service, delightful food, and outstanding value. Total*belly*Love! Whether you are flying solo, with your family, or out on a fun date night, this spot gets a special nod. My only regret was enjoying (a little too much) the warm, fresh chips and that heavenly queso! They are addictive, so good luck not falling into the trap. 😊

The tacos are unbelievable. The owner welcomes you in and makes sure you’re taken care of. The atmosphere reminds me of Mexico. This is the best Mexican spot in Jacksonville by far.

Just the absolute best Mexican restaurant in all of north east Florida! I wouldn’t say I’m picky but I do have high standards when it comes to taste/ temperature of food and friendly service. That is where most restaurants fall short. However, this restaurant has the most mouthwatering delicious appetizers, entres and mocktails. No other Mexican restaurant can compare, not even the ones where my family of 3 spends over $200 for a dinner. Their prices are extremely affordable, shocking even. I ordered La Costa quesadilla it came on a huge plate with soft flavorful rice, beans and a giant tortilla filled with steak, chicken, shrimp and chorizo for only $14.99 The prices change on the virgin drinks I guess it depends on how your server rings it up but other than that this place is paradise. Highly recommend!

We were greeted by friendly staff & made to feel welcome as soon as we walked in. The food came out quickly & was tasty & had great portions. The chicken we had was wood fire grilled & a welcome taste difference from other local Mexican restaurants. We will definitely be back to our new favorite local cantina!

This place is AMAZING! My family gets to go all the time and have also dined in. The food is consistently excellent, the drinks and the variety of offerings are great, and all of the staff are sweet and customer oriented. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and they frequently have live music to make for a fun night out. Please give this place a try. It is top notch

Was excited to see this location reopen, but even more excited to taste how it reinvented the classic dishes we love with new flavors that were delightfully unexpected. A must try for all foodies. We can't wait to share the experience with friends and looking forward to experiencing the live musical events as well.

Walked in and was greeted with a smile. The service was quick and we were checked on throughout the stay, from not only our own server, but each staff member who walked by. Our servers name was Daniel and he was great! He told us about all the events hosted in the week. The drinks were strong and tasty and the food was delicious! I highly recommend this place and will be back shortly!

Went there for lunch, horrible service, the molcajete was so terrible that they didn’t even cooked it properly and they said that the cooks were from Oaxaca and “ They are the best cook”, I will never give them a second chance

Great lunch today. Wasn't busy, greeted and seated immediately. Fresh chips & salsa brought to the table while drinks were ordered. Clean, clean, clean! Food was delicious and fast. Enchiladas supremas (shown) and shrimp ceviche. Highly recommend and will be back!
