Great family friendly brewery. Very large with plenty of indoor or outdoor beer garden seating. I ordered a flight, to try all their beers. Their craft beer isn’t the best I’ve had in Texas. Their beer tasted watered down. But the ambiance made up for the taste. The server behind the counter was very nice and friendly, walking me through the various beer selections that they carry. They have a complementary popcorn station. We got some food from the food truck outside.

Visiting from out of town and stopped in on Saturday afternoon based on other reviews. 7 people in the place; 4 at the bar and 3 at a table. Wife and I sat at the bar. No one behind the bar, so we waited. No one acknowledged us, no signs related to ordering, nothing. About 5-7 minutes pass and another patron walks in, walks up to the bar, and the guy at the end of the bar looking at his cell phone the whole time, got up and waited on him. Again, no acknowledgment of us. Then he sits back down at the end of the bar. So, we got up and left. Still no words…”sorry, didn’t see you, thanks for stopping, go f yourselves”, nothing. I’ve been to breweries all across this country and this was the rudest experience I’ve ever encountered. With so many places filling chapter 11, good luck staying in business. Very disappointing.

Great atmosphere and comfortable community of patrons and pets to sit and enjoy the day with a brew and 😎🤩👏 The brews were great and there was even a taco food truck on site. Not sure if it’s always there but looks and smells great! They even have a patio for outdoor seating. Perfect time for us to wet our whistles!

We went to Middleton for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The bartender and brewmaster were friendly and personable, the beer was delicious, and they had a brewery dog (#win)! Great experience. We hope to go back soon when the weather is better so we can enjoy the patio.

We were patrons frequently back in 2015/2016, but moved to San Antonio for an easier work commute, and sadly this isn't the Middleton we remember! The taproom and atmosphere of the Hill Country tavern vibe is great, yet Middleton is no longer the scrappy brewer of yesterday - their beers are fairly typical now, and most of the distinct Belgium beers are gone, no Quartzite tripel or any dubbel offerings. Overall a good place to stop in for your average beer! Still dog friendly, still has some onsite food.

A friend recommended this Brewery in San Marcos. We visited this place in afternoon. As soon as we approached the property, we saw a deck in the rooftop and a food truck. A few people were at the bottom level and nobody at the rooftop. The selection of craft beers was excellent. Ask for Scott! He went out of his way to welcome us and explain the process. A good place for craft beer and great people!

Great place to have adult beverages. They have food trucks. I was disappointed they didn’t both open on Saturday. I miss the music that they used to have on a Saturday. I can’t find all my pictures from here. I will attach them later.

Rooftop is sweet, good choice beers. Will return.

place a has a little disc golf putt putt style course which is awesome. Scott is the best. Such great service and a fellow disc golfer. The place is amazing make sure to check out the upper deck. Such great service dude deserves a raise!

Great Hill Country Brewery with LOTS of new things going on - absolutely worth a visit (or seven) to see what it's all about!

Went to Middleton Brewery for a little day date with my boyfriend! The beer was excellent, I loved their Overcast Oatmeal stout and my boyfriend really loved their Palo Duro Amber. Plus they had a food truck out front that had the best birria tacos I've ever had in my life. The atmosphere was great and would recommend checking it out!

Very elegant and raw structured brewery. Limited beers but most of what I tasted were great and had interesting taste notes. The Hefe, garnet amber, juicy IPA and kolsch were my fav. The Hefe had an mild roasted fruity flavour and I loved it. The place is well spread out both indoor and outdoor. Dogs are allowed indoors as well. They also have Mexican food truck coming in on specific days of the week. Will visit defo again.

Great beer, super nice, dog friendly people. They even have fenced in areas. Always a good time. And don’t forget to grab growler or crowler for later or you’ll wish you had.

The brewery looked great. Lots of seating very comfortable atmosphere. The beer for the most part was good. The first round (2) we got was okay but the second was much better. They were out of a few and those may be better. Will give their beer another chance. Worth the stop.

It had been awhile since I had made the trip out to this awesome little Hill Country Brewery, but I had heard the place had been revamped a bit. The vibe is definitely more inviting and the beers are better than ever. The staff was great and the food truck was serving some great grub that complimented the beer. It all made for a great evening.

My gosh what a breath of fresh air, this place is less cluttered and clearly has had some recent love and attention! This place is beautiful and such a chill great atmosphere and vibe totally worth a stop on a hill country visit if you are ever in the area. Beers are on point and staff is welcoming! Can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic beer, great environment

Fantastic place. Took my dad, uncle and wife here last weekend and all had a great time. Service was knowledgeable, fun and entertaining. Beer was clean and delicious. The ambiance was significantly more welcoming than our last visit. They’ve obviously made some improvements to both the interior and exterior. We loved the music selection as well as all the greenery. Highly recommend for a hill country trip.

We enjoyed a refreshing Kölsch at this place. Has more of a bar feel to it. Great location, can't miss it. Service was great!

Great ambiance and wait staff! Food was fantastic! I love this rustic brewery! Well worth the drive, especially since it is awesome scenery on the way! I gave it four stars since every beer was hoppy/ IPA tasting, except the Chunky Stout. So I wound up getting wine. Maybe next time we go they will have more variety.

A great place for some live music (check the website for dates/times), delicious beer and wine, and wonderful food from their food truck. This is the place to kick back with friends and enjoy a relaxed pace!

My husband and I stopped by an hour before closing on a Sunday night and had a wonderful experience and conversation with Scott. We also met Dunkel, the cat... perfect brewery mascot. Scott was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the beers and brewing in general. Beers were fantastic (favorite was the Chunky Pug stout or the Evil DDH IPA). Although we came late, we did not feel rushed in the least bit by Scott. We did hurry to finish our flight and 2 pints out of courtesy, but fantastic experience overall. Will visit again!

We’ve been here twice now. We pass through town every couple of weeks and it’s on my list every time. Absolutely love the place. Great brews. Great crew. Great music. Great food. Highly recommend.

I came for the open mic. (Mondays 6-9:30) Great Music, Great Beer, Great food and service. I'm definitely going back often.

Great beers...however, we wish the owners would enable customers to tab out electronically. We waited in line for 20 minutes (on a Wednesday at 3:45) to pay and leave. This put a damper on the experience.

Pet friendly! Great atmosphere! I do not drink, but I still love meeting friends here. The food trailers are great and the service is the best. You feel like you're going over to your best friend's house in middle school and just hanging out.

Apr 2022 update: visited again with a different set of friends. I really like the stout, medium bodied. The selection was very good and everybody found something they liked. Nov 2019: It was a nice microbrewery. A couple of good beers that I liked. We'll give it another try if we're in the area again

Great atmosphere, beautiful outdoor space and most importantly they love dogs! I really enjoyed theirs beers specifically the 10th anniversary tripel. Service was amazing too.

This is not a brewery for good beer. They have other things to offer... friendly service, some live music, dog friendly (might be the only reason people come here) and a food trailer with average beer food (you can get better at Burger King). There are too many other craft breweries in the area with better beer. A good location that's convenient to Wimberley and San Marcos. Once a really good beer venue that has lost its mojo.

Venue is terrific with the huge rooftop patio. The beer was good, not great.

Middleton suffers from a frequent issue of success through location. There is very little brewey competition meaning the beers are nearly best by default. Most of the beers are perfectly acceptable creations in their genre, but they all lack creativity and aren't memory. Stick to the IPAs for that reason. That said, the brewey is a fantastic venue with a patio, ample indoor seating, and a rooftop terrace. It even smells like popcorn inside because they provide free popcorn! So maybe visit and form your own opinion, but go in with lower expectations minus the great staff and cool venue.

Would I return: No Drinks: sub par Service: Poor Far from the best brewery I've been to. The bartender had a poor attitude. I tried a flight and was not impressed by any of their beers. I can usually find a beer or two out of a flight that's decent, but not the case here.

First time here. I like dark beer and their Porter is amazing.

The beer was fine, the service was sub par. Went to get a second round and they were very rude. Not sure why, they were very friendly when we first arrived.

Awesome beer! Recommend the Tiki time. Very clean and spacious women’s bathroom. IDK why it’s so hard for places to get this right, but they certainly did. Loved the dog hanging out in the bar. He was so sweet.

We stopped here while staying in Wimberly. Picked this place because they would fill growlers. We sat on the upper deck, which was perfect right around sunset. All of the beers were great, even if not my 'style,' I could appreciate them. Bartender was super nice and friendly. Highly recommend stopping by if you are anywhere close!

Overall a really chill and fun place to be. Live music, cold beer and a beautifully designed place. They mostly have IPA which is not my thing but for IPA lovers this is a gold mine. They have a delicious blonde ale that they can make micheladas. All the beers have various flavor components. They all went down smooth. The amber ales were great! I highly recommend stopping by and checking this place out. The only reason it's a 4 star rating is because I like a little more diversity. I love my sour beers and meads. A little more assortment would make this place complete.

Nice digs—tasty brews. Hang out inside or, on a nice day, hit the patio. They have a food truck on site selling burgers. The brewery black cat, appropriately named Dunkel, May stop by to say hi. The beer selection is plentiful with 5-taster flights if you want to try them all.

Enjoyed our beers, peaceful atmosphere, and the MBTX burgers. So yummy and there was a vegetarian option for me. 😋 The bartender was courteous and social. Appreciated his friendly personality.

My boyfriend and I were on a weekend trip which happened to fall on the same weekend as their 9 year anniversary celebration. There's indoor and outdoor seating, including a 21+ patio upstairs. Dog and kid-friendly, and they have a food truck with tasty burgers and tots that are the perfect pairing with beers!

We were visiting wimberley for the weekend and stopped here for dinner. The food truck has awesome burgers. When you go inside the brewery there is plenty of seating. Amber was our bartender and she was very friendly and helpful when we were deciding what to get. She made sure to tell us goodbye as we were leaving. It was a great experience.

Great burgers from MBTX and a sampler flight of 5 beers (I picked randomly #2,4,6,8,10) were all good. Very enjoyable lunch outside on the patio and band playing inside. Next time more beer and burgers to explore- what could be more fun than that!

Visiting San Marcos and stopped at this brewery with my husband, the beer is very good and Jimmy the bartender was awesome! Very atmosphere and great customer service! We will definitely be returning to this gem!

Nice watering hole, enjoyed a flight of beer. Really liked the pecan amber! Was quite surprised how the pina colada shake grew on me, quite good and eclectic. My wife enjoyed the hazy ipas!
