Great find! Breakfast and lunch only. Best BLT I have ever had; made with candied bacon on incredible bread. Then the burrata, prosciutto and balsamic tomatoes sandwich was to die for again on another incredible bread. Can't wait to take another drive over to Lake Placid, FL just to eat here again.

Place was soooo good. We had the BLT and chicken sandwich and everything was 10/10. Nice little area for a younger crowd.

Best BLT I have ever had! Transported me back to the Embarcadero food scene in San Francisco Original, fresh, crafted to order quality. Total winner! Can't wait for my next one!

Morty & Edna's Kitchen is a GREAT place to dine! I had a savory cheese sandwich with minced steak inside it, and it was very tasty! I had attended a special event Karaoke feature on a Saturday night and had a GREAT time! Even the staff came out to sing for this event!

Another coffee shop wasn't open so went here. Beautiful and funky inside. Cafe latte was excellent, blueberry muffin was LOADED with fruit and NOT sickly sweet like other muffins. Husband thoroughly enjoyed his bagel sandwich. Bacon was crazy good. Service was friendly and professional. Will be back.

This restaurant is beautifully designed and staffed with friendly people. To top it off, food is excellent and reasonably priced. That’s a five star rating in anyone’s book! Icing on the cake is their inclusivity; thank you for making my husband and I feel at home. Frittata was excellent and the side of bacon is to die for! Eat too much of the bacon and you might! The notoriously sloppy BLT was excellent!!

Interesting place, the only option for a Monday in the area. I would return for another meal. They make their dishes the way they like them, not your preference so don't bother asking for things like well done bacon or over easy eggs. They do it their way or hit the highway.

They don’t sell Diet Coke for diabetics and they kicked out nine people who spent $190 because one person baught a Diet Coke from next door which they don’t

How this place efficiently handled a busload of 36 women is beyond me. The food was great, the staff so friendly and the service was wonderful!

Im giving 2 stars because the place is very cute and the food is good as well. I’ve been to morty and ednas a couple of times.. preface by saying I don’t live in lake placid.. I come from Miami.. I got to morty and ednas on Friday at 10:50/11am I wanted breakfast after just driving a little under 3 hours.. i say to my husband I want breakfast and the man in the counter without saying anything else says I don’t have Breakfast at this time it ended at 10:45am. Without even blinking I tell my husband let’s go. I’m sure it wouldn’t have killed them to make me a simple breakfast plate but regardless his way of answering a question that wasn’t even directed towards him without even a “hi hello we unfortunately don’t have breakfast but I can offer you some delicious lunch”I won’t be stopping by morty and ednas anymore. We are not getting food for free

Delicious gem of a breakfast place!! Food was amazing, service was fast and incredible. Got the monty and added bacon and was blown away. We were accidentally overcharged and didn’t notice, but Ellie came to our table and refunded us the difference. Great integrity, Ellie spoke with us for a few minutes just chit chatting and was so pleasant. We came here on a little vacation and just found this place on yelp with great reviews. What a phenomenal start to our Saturday! Definitely come!

Joey behind the counter is a really nice guy. I had the BLT, which was probably the best one I’ve ever eaten! All the food looks delicious. A little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. Very nice ambiance as well and very clean. If you’re in Lake Placid, definitely stop by.

The menu here is not normal, in a very good way. Everything we had for lunch was unique, tasty & on the healthy side. Totally enjoyed the food and the service!! While enjoying the meal on the patio outside, we got to enjoy one of the many mural paintings, which Lake Placid is famous for.

This Craft Kitchen is amazing... The minute you walk in, you get to witness the love put together in a Hipster love of food melody... The chefs are the main attraction, flipping the grill to a perfect delicacy that will make you wonder if your taste buds are ready to dance... Kudos to all staff and management for creating something new for Lake Placid... My Family and I are big fans... You need to try the menu and see for yourself... The love placed on your dish...

The highlight of this dreary day was a trip to the LP Farmers Market and brunch at Morty & Edna’s. It’s always busy and bustling at The Journal Plaza and crowds aren’t my thing, but the aromas wafting from their kitchen drew us in. My husband had the always-delicious shrimp & grits and I had the Mike Wazowski (sp?) - a bowl of grits covered in homemade pesto and two sunny-side-up eggs. It’s heaven in a bowl! They also had an impressive assortment of pastries so we got blueberry muffins and croissants as take-away for breakfast tomorrow. *chef’s kiss*

We asked for a fork and they said they would charge us money for a share fee. We said we didn’t want it split we would eat from the same plate. They said it didn’t matter. This was our third day in a row coming, buying drinks and food every day. Spent hundreds. We will not be coming back. Lost customers for life because the lady at the cash register was on such a rude power trip. She actually asked the group behind us when they asked for silverware if it was for us. Just so we couldn’t get any. We walked and got plastic silverware from the neighboring restaurant. This women shouldn’t be working in a restaurant with people. She has zero manners and is incredibly rude and caddy. Reflects on the entire restaurant as a whole.

One of the owners she was a woman working the cash register was very short and rude, been there a few times and spent lots money over the past couple of days. She apparently has a history of terrible customer service skills and zero conflict resolution abilities. Forgets where their money comes from I guess.

For $15 I was expecting more than 4 shrimp with my shrimp and grits order, but I must say that the grits were cooked to a perfect creamy texture and flavored deliciously. My only gripe other than feeling like $15 is a bit pricy for what I received (especially in Florida where shrimps and grits go for about $11-$12 on average and usually with more than 4 medium sized shrimp) is that I made sure to mention to the cashier that I don't eat meat other than seafood and my order had bacon pieces mixed into the grits so I had to pick them out. I wasn't happy about that, but I didn't have time to go back so I just picked the pieces out and ate it. It was delicious, so there's that. I'll eat here again, but probably won't get the same thing for that price. Great place, good food, nice environment, excellent location, friendly service. Stop here if you're looking for a good meal in Lake Placid!

I was in this store today and very disappointed with the service I received from the owner. I have a service dog that is protected by federal law and the owner was expressly rude belittling myself and others stating this does not exist and that I was a liar. The owner continued to ask about my disability which is not allowed as it is extremely inappropriate to ask another strangers health information. Owner asked where we were from and when we stated Canada they said well you’re not in Canada anymore very rudely. I have read another persons comment experiencing something similar with their emotional support animal which is different from a service animal in Florida I am aware of this. In accordance with Americans disability act of 1990 this owner is violating the ADA. I do not recommend this business to anyone that does not want to support someone who is clearly against people with disabilities or PTSD.

We had an amazing lunch and the staff was very friendly. Food was amazing, best BLT my husband ate in his life and I had the sandwich of the dsay which was a bbq chicken wrap with avocado and it was also great. There was no wait time and the place was clean. We will be back for sure!!!

We absolutely love this place! We come here everytime we're in town visiting our parents - I've been talking about their bacon since we first came to eat here. Overall great atmosphere, employees are very friendly as are the owners. Even when we don't come for the food we atleast come for the coffee - it's the best in town and I was born and raised here for the better part of 20 years. Morty & Edna's are a great edition to Lake Placid and I hope they are here for the long run.

While visiting Lake Placid definitely stop here. The Notorius BLT and the Prosvuitto Burrata Pesto sandwich are "excellent"!!! Cafe con leche, spanish style, and a mexican coke are the perfect combo. Will come here again!

Our first time in Lake Placid, and we were super glad to have stopped here. Lovely brunch menu, all the food we tried was delicious. Portions look small, but they are filling and full of flavor. We sat outside on the patio, and were able to enjoy the farmers market that was on in the square. Would recommend and would love to go back :)

The BLT was bussin and tasted better than heroin, there was a fancy rich people store connected to it so you could walk around It while you wait for your food, that day was great.

Yesterday was my first time going here me and my boyfriend and when I say 10/10 that’s what I mean!!! If you haven’t tried this place yet you are missing out

So good! We stopped in for their Saturday brunch, yum! I had the “Mike Wazowski” which was their cheesy grits with the most delicious pesto and sunny side up eggs. Wow!! It was probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Everything was so fresh, the mimosa was also very good, made with Natalie’s orange juice, the best! Thank you for a great meal!

The food here is DELICIOUS! We got the famous BLT sandwich with chicken- chicken was tender and juicy, portions are generous, and the herb mayo is out of this world. We also got the Greek salad. I didn’t realize it had quinoa, I don't like quinoa- I loved this salad. The dressing and all the flavors worked together great. The atmosphere is one of the best breakfast/lunch spots in all of Sebring and lake placid! The staff is super accommodating to our dietary restrictions and friendly. Also, gotta respect this business for having gay pride events- it takes bravery to do that in a small conservative town. They make their community a better place with great food AND inclusion. We will be back! ✊🩷💜💙

Escelent place with fresh food made from scratch.

My Son is a Saxophone player. He had a show at this location. After the show he kept speaking of this place. This Sunday myself and a few friends had brunch. It was GREAT. The service, the atmosphere. Everything about it was great. There is no complains. It did not feel as if I was still in Highlands County. As much as I would love to keep this place a secret to myself, I must share the amazing experience I had. I don't know his name but the bald guy was very friendly. Thank you all and for your service. We will be back.

We finally made it to Morty and Edna’s and are so glad we did! They truly prepare their dishes from the heart, you can really taste the love and they use fresh, delicious ingredients. Amazing frittata, tasty eggs your way and the best café con leche around! We also brought with us croissants for tomorrow’s omelettes. Can’t wait to try their lunch! Friendly staff, plenty of parking. Their if it’s not croque, don’t fix it is so good we just had to take it home and make it a croque madame, no need to fix it, my Spanish blood just needed a fried egg on top!

The food was good but pricey. My iced tea was maybe 12 ounces and over priced. The staff were nice. The menu is very limited. The decor is nice but due to the openess it can get a little loud.

Stopped in for a quick lunch yesterday and had the special which was the ASIAN WRAP and it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! I know they only serve it every so often, but I could eat that every day it was so good! Wish I had snapped a pic of it!!

In spite of how busy it was because of the Caladium Festival, this place was great! Friendly staff, great food, and a friendly atmosphere among patrons.

I’ve been here 3 times now and it’s officially a main staple of my trip each time I’m in the area. My bf and I like to hang out and read the local news materials while we enjoy the coffee and breakfast. Their candied bacon is life-changing so order anything that includes it and you’re guaranteed to start your day on a high note. Boom!

Food was fantastic, cool vibes in the atmosphere and service was great. The cooks definitely hustle in this place. Not a large menu but unique combos of standards. Candied bacon is a must try. So are the homemade cookies!! I only wish they were open later for breakfast. The store attached to this restaurant has a lot of interesting items for purchase.

Hubs and I stopped here on our way up from south Florida. We were pleasantly greeted by a warm, and friendly staff. We ordered both specials they were serving that day, and they were equally delicious. If you happen to be in town or can swing through, it’s definitely worthwhile. This place is a gem!
