Came across Sammy's while house hunting in the area. Amazing NY Pizza. Great crunch and delicious sauce. Canoli was amazing. Loved the welcoming atmosphere and family spirit. My kind of people!!! Must stop if your any where close!

Very good service , pizza and wings were excellent

Just not impressed with Sammys. We used to love this place and the pizza. Overall it has become something unappealing and distasteful. Pizza does not inspire, at all. Garlic rolls have an underlying bad taste. The fried mushrooms are a catastrophe, could not even choke one down. What the heck has happened here. Will say though, the marinara side was darn good. I think different than it used to be -- no fennel and less salt? and more garlic. I don't know why this flavor doesn't come through in the pizza. Anyway, it is heartbreaking we do not have decent pizza in Lake Placid.

Great pizza, veal Parm, reasonable prices

Heard great things about this place but my take out order wasn't ready then when it was my order was wrong. Tough when the cook is distracted by the bar patrons is my observation. Pizza is good.

The first time we went service was excellent. The owners brother was our server. He was friendly and made it a good experience. The food was good. We tried them a few more times. Each time the food and service went down hill, especially the food. As far as the atmosphere, it's loud and noisy. Staff are yelling at each other and at customers.

We stopped in for lunch while in Lake Placid on the Sugar Express: Clewiston to Lake Placid train excursion. When food started to arrive for tables seated after us someone in our party inquired about our food and the cook and I suspect the owner handled the situation in a most inappropriate manner. Yelling that he had 2 staff out and cursing that the food would be ready when it was ... ready. He handled the whole situation in a very unprofessional manner. Sir I hope your day got better because ours certainly did. We found a lovely restaurant in Moore Haven located in The Glades RV Resort called the Riverfront Grill with excellent food and friendly, courteous service. A little off the beaten path but well worth looking for. We will definitely go back.

Sat down server took our order waited 1 hour and no food finally one of our party asked the cook about our food and he was excessively rude amd disrespectful. In the end our party left and will never return or recommend this place... ps if you know you have 2 people call out advise your patrons there will be an unexpected delay so if they are on a time crunch they can seek food elsewhere don't make it there fault your backed up and be disrespectful and swearing at your staff is only gonna have 2 more people call out. FYI I'm a REPUBLICAN before you go down that rabbit hole.

If I can give a zero I would. The cook was VERY RUDE!! we waited 30 mins for our food and after he told us that he is backed up and it will come when it's ready. The server just had not brought it out and it was sitting back there. We took the train ride to here to enjoy the day and he destroyed it for us. Reply: bare with u after the way u was yelling at ur staff then us for asking where our food was when it was actually ready and u just needed to serve it to us. But that is fine ur loss of 7 people with ur non professional manner to staff and guests. No complaint about the train. It was a great ride. The complaint is the way u talk to people. Have a great day! No democrats here sorry that's why I won't sit there and let u bad mouth us.

Thank you Mr. Sammy for the cheese pizza slices for Owen. He was happy and full! This is a nice destination on the town's circle (downtown) where you enjoy a friendly atmosphere, good food, no TVs which allow for conversation as you eat, and the owners take care of you! Check it out! Their 18" pizza is a hit in our house.

We very much, enjoyed our pizza. Looking forward to trying the pasta dishes.

Great NY style pizza. A fun, laid-back atmosphere of friendly staff and locals. Night we stopped for dinner the place was packed at 4:30 pm and remained that way. Great service and reasonable prices all done right.

Always feel welcome when I call or walk in and pizza is awesome. I'm born and raised in Manhattan, NY had the best pizza there and Queens and the Bronx, Sammy's is right up there with the best.

Excellent service, and great food!

Pizza was great, but service was amazing. We dined at Mr. Sammy's on 9/11. We are moving to Lake Placid soon and have been trying all of the pizza places. When we entered the restaurant, a sign at the entrance stated 50% off for first responders. What a patriotic and heartwarming gesture. My husband is a police officer, so we were given the discount. We in turn applied our discount as our tip for the server. Thank you for your kindness, hospitality, and delicious pizza! You have made a regular out of us when we move to Lake Placid.

Great staff and great food, this is our favorite pizza place

This establishment can not be matched in quality or style of food. Sammy's has perfected the New York style pizzeria with excellent quality food. The atmosphere is very welcoming, whether you want to relax after a long, hard day at work with a refreshing beer or want to have a family dinner with great service. I would highly recommend enjoying some of Sammy's wings because they are incredibly delicious.
