Had curry fish with rice and it was a culinary joy. Wonderful flavor and a nice portion!

This place is a hidden gem. Generous portions of some of the best food I've ever had. I couldn't get through by phone for some reason, so I just drove in. So glad I did.

Really tasty food. I got the fish tikka masala and it was so creamy and tomatoey and flavorful. The fish was moist and tender. The lamb samosas were so crispy too and i loved the onion chutney and garlic naan. Would definitely get from here again

Great place for trying indian halal food. We tried chicken biriyani, somosa, chicken tikka masala, chicken shami korma. All the foods are delicious and well-cooked. Owner was very accomodating. Highly recommended.

I am OBSESSED with this place and I talk about it to everyone I see, just about lol the food is spectacular. They’re always friendly. I get the shahi paneer which is killer. And they make the best butter chicken you’ll probably ever have. 10/10

Great local place for Indian food. Currently only open for take-out. I have tried several different dishes from here and they've all been great. I love spicy food, but be careful about asking them to make it Hot! You will feel the burn.

Good and caring customer service.

I’ve been told that I needed to visit Mughal Palace so many times, so I know their food is amazing. What my boyfriend and I just experienced from their customer service, though, was incredible. On our way up to the Augusta area, we called ahead to order three dinners. Barely 10 minutes later our car starting giving us problems, forcing us off the highway. I called Mughal Palace to give them a heads up that we’d be late because I thought it might be a quick fix (they had already started the order so we didn’t want to cancel). When it became obvious that we weren’t going to make it, my boyfriend called to cancel the order. We felt SO bad ordering so much food that we weren’t going to pick up, but instead of expressing his frustration, the lovely man on the phone offered to deliver us the food- a 40 minute drive!! He was so sweet and understanding; we couldn’t believe it. Thank you so much! You made a hard night a little easier!!

Ordered for the first time here today and it is amazing! Didn’t know what to expect as we have disliked the other local places since they were “Americanized”, however, this place exceeded expectations. Highly highly highly recommend the muttar paneer and garlic naan. 🤤🤤 they also did a phenomenal job accommodating my nut allergy!

Expectation at this place is higher than I imagined. I have been coming to Augusta area for a while now. First time I tried indian here. Since there aren't lot of Indians around, I Imigned food will not have the same taste. But I went there regardless. I gotta say. Every time I will be in augusta. My everyday dinner will be here. Outstanding service and outstanding food. The Spicyness level was perfect. The owner is super nice. 110/100

Amazing Indian cuisine in Central Maine! Don’t let the building’s exterior or adjacent properties fool you: the food and wonderful family behind the cuisine at Mughal Palace are 100% amazing! The samosas we enjoyed were crispy, flavorful, and utterly craveable. And the accompanying fresh sauces? Out-of-this-world delicious!!!! We loved the aloo paratha, and our entrees (spicy lamb mutter and chicken tikka masala) were exceptional in every way. Cannot wait to go back: we adore Mughal Palace!!!

Got take out from here a while back the food is delicious! I had the garlic Naan and chicken Tikka Masala! The Naan was savory and chewy. The chicken was tender, spicy, and really flavorful. They both paired really well together. It also comes with bismati rice it was simple but also went well with the chicken. The staff are really nice.I recommend this restaurant!

Best Indian food around. Super nice people. You won't regret it

Six friends and I ordered out for the first time from this restaurant, which is takeout only, and were absolutely delighted with the experience. We all got different types of meals, including vegetarian, which has a huge choice, and no one was in the least disappointed. The breads were delicious, and the dips that go with the breads were excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Most amazing kabob I’ve ever had. Glad to hear everything is 100% halal. I really recommend the lamb sheesh kabob. Mango yogurt drink is fresh and really hits the spot. Garlic nans are perfect and soft inside.

Best Indian food I’ve ever had, I recommend the butter chicken!

Best Indian around. The owners are super nice. I was a general manager for an Indian restaurant years ago and learned everything I could in the kitchen. This place is the real deal.

First time trying Indian food, so i can't compare it. But what we did have was absolutely delicious! The keema and kabuli naan were our 2 favorites. We also had butter chicken and lamb vindaloo, both fantastic choices. I would definitely order both dishes again. The person who took our order was very nice and our food was waiting nice and hot when we got there for take out. I do hope that some time in the future, they reopen the buffet. It would definitely give me a chance to try a taste of different dishes to see what else we'd enjoy.

Tonight was our first ever experience with indian cuisine. Outside of making things at home. The food was out of this world... the owners son was nothing short of amazing. Polite, friendly and genuinely enthusiastic about his cuisine!!! We got Keema samosa, samosa, poori, chicken tikka masala and chicken vindeloo The order was under 60.00 the food was fresh, flavorful, well seasoned down to the hint of finishing salt on the outstanding samosas. The flavorful jasmine rice with cardamom was a huge unexpected suprise. I didn't realize how much id missed always passing on jasmine rice all i can say is shame on me. We have been hugely disappointed in the food scene since we moved up here.... hope they open that sweet dining space back up soon!! Our Raita was missed but I don't even care my stomach is full my and heart is happy!! Glad to know we have a new "date night" spot so I don't have to cook 15 days a week lol!! Thank you saeev (im sorry if i spelled wrong I will be better next time) we appreciate you and your first impression of this exquisite cuisine. Can't wait to come back!! If you are hesitant or new to this, Try what we got it is "entry level" and absolutely satisfying!! Rickers cranberry wine paired nicely with it as well!! If anyone is looking to make a date out of it!!😉

My absolute favorite place to get Indian food.

I've been coming here for a few years, both take out and dine in, both are always nice. You never wait long for the food, regardless of ordering out or eating in. I usually always get lamb of some sort, it's rare but some times they overcook it making it tough to chew but only once or twice. It's one of the few Indian restaurants we go to around this area.

We were very happy to find this restaurant! After having moved to a new town, we weren't sure if there were many options for authentic Indian food in the area. Come to find out, there was one 2 miles from our house! We were very satisfied with our order and have been back several times since.

Been going here since they opened. Always amazing food and staff. ..unfortunately this local gem has been experiencing staffing issues since early pandemic. Please call early if you plan on take out for dinner as they are unable to open on some scheded nights

So good! Highly recommend their naan. Food was cooked fresh, served hot and so tasty! The perfect carryout for a date night at home, but not recommended for dining in. Atmosphere inside is... dated, and not really welcoming. I think all their business is carry-out.

I often enjoyed this restaurant several years ago but something has changed. The coconut soup was very bland, and the rice was lumpy and inconsistently combined with the spices. The most disappointing was the lamb curry; there were "off" flavors to the lamb that reminded me of long frozen or old meat. Since I was eating in my van, (the cashier could earn better tips by providing table service) after consuming about a quarter of my food I took it back inside. I probably should have asked for a refund, I wasted over $27.

One of the worse “Authentic” Indian restaurants in the area. Food was subpar with lack of care on even simply the rice. Thai tea was nearly milk water. Total meal of curry lamb and butter chicken is a unfortunate deterrent from my favorite foods.

Good food, can't wait for them to open back up for dine in. We loved the dinner buffet they used to have. They now have many vegan and gluten free options. Missed this place!

Mughal Palace truly deserves the 5 star rating and all the amazing things said about them. Food is excellent, portions are large, the owners are incredibly nice and accommodating. Central Maine is incredibly lucky to have such a gem. Support them so they can continue cooking for this region!

This place is amazing. The food is so good. Ordered from here for my birthday it's that good. Love love love.

The food is absolutely delicious! We get takeout regularly and the whole family enjoys it. Our 7-year-old requests this food above anything else. We usually get the chicken curry and the fried vegetarian sampler. I really appreciate that this restaurant has options for my dietary needs (gluten and dairy free due to thyroid health) and they even adjust the appetizer sampler to be gluten free upon request! This food is well worth the drive from Augusta! My kids really miss the buffet and we hope restaurant dining will come back!

Finally tried this place and glad we did. We are vegan and were very encouraged that the menu had clearly labeled items that can be made vegan. They know what they are doing, for sure. We've ordered three more times and the food has been consistant and delicious every time. We were only hesitant to try them because they are out in the middle of nowhere, but then we found out they were previous owners of successful restaurant in Portland, so knew they must have high standards. Glad we tried them and will be back many times to come!

Amazingly dope chicken tikka masala.

The lamb korma and chicken biryani was delicious. It was a bit too oily (and therefore quite heavy) but it was better than a lot of restaurants I’ve had in Jersey City.

Why do not have more than five starts here? Food was amazing. I never had that kind of taste in USA. Owner and son are nice. They are awesome guys. Fresh food. No acidity or heart burn even having spicy and oily foods. We came from Philadelphia ( going to Acadia) around 8:00PM and called them. They kept food ready for us and though dine in was closed, they allowed us to dine in because we a were coming from Philadelphia with family. It was not expensive at all. 4 people and 1 kid had dinner there and bill came $50. We had Paratha, Garlic Naan, Paneer Tikka masala, Aloo Gobhi. God bless the Mughal Palace family. Hope he could expand there business and start in our area. I would visit again and again. Recommend to my friends and all. A must visit restaurant.

Great tasting food, great selections to choose from.

The food here is excellent! Particularly love the chicken korma and saag dishes. Also, I just had the seasonal pumpkin soup and it was AMAZING!! I might have to order this every day until it's off the menu!

We really enjoyed our takeout. Their indoor seating is currently closed so they are only open for takeout. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious! We had lamb pasanda, butter chicken and chana masala. Also some samosas and naan. So happy to have a local Indian restaurant with great quality food. We will be back soon!

I have eaten Indian food for 25 yrs in many different states. Mughal Palace has the best of the best authentic Indian cuisine. I crave their food and love the chicken tika and the Dahl. I love the condiments and always ask for extra. You have to get the raita which is the yogurt with cucumbers to put on your food or bread. I order it at least once a month and often have guests over to join me. The portions are large and an entree lasts me for 2-3 meals. I cannot believe we are so lucky to have this great food in Kennebec County.

First off the place has terrible lighting at night, I felt as if I was entering a haunted house. The dishes are nothing special and naan is nothing compared to the naan at Desi Kitchen in Hallowell, go there instead.

We ordered take out last night from here and it was excellent. It was packaged nicely, it was ready when they said it would be, and the woman our front was very nice. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back again.

Boyfriend and I have never had Indian food before, decided to try it. Person answering the phone was pleasant, patient and was able to have my order slightly customized (I don't like onions). Bf went to pick up food, said it was clean and pleasant. Food is good, a little higher up on the spice scale than I expected (I'm a wimp for spicy food) but hey, if you want some kick to your food, here's your place to go! I got the chicken saag and the rice definitely tamed the spice down to where I could comfortably eat it along with some yogurt on the side (the yogurt cools down the temp in your mouth haha)

This is a nice place. The resturaunt itself is well maintained and cleaned (when its open and not shut down due to covid), the staff are very pleasant and do their best to keep you happy, and the food is good. Its hit or miss as far as quality due to how busy they are. But still recommend trying.

I went in to support my local business thru these difficult times and I'm glad they're still in business cause their food is always the best! 🍽 Made it extra spicy just how I like it. I got the lamb masala and masala chai tea 🍵. Go out and grab some takeout 🥡 keep our small businesses alive!

Don't be put off by the exterior appearance - the reviews are well justified. We did take-out and were very pleased with taste, quality, quantity and timely/polite service. Kabuli Naan was sweet enough to be a dessert, Tikka Sang and Chicken Butter were both delicious.

YOU ARE NEVER OPEN.... business that make money are open during business hours.. I’ve called for weeks trying to test your horrible restaurant, Your either “not open,please come again” or “we’re on vacation, please come again”. I will never eat there or anyone I know.. I’m going to put up boycott ads and you can expect random visits from the health inspectors.

Very good for vegans and vegetarians. If you know Indian food, there's probably something you like. Extensive menu. Biryani was a LOT of rice with simple peas and carrots stirred in. Not to my liking. Lamb skewered was a little tough, but not bad.

Delicious, healthy options available, & great service.

I dined in here a while back and got food from the buffet, and tonight had take-out. Their food is phenomenal, and the service is wonderful. The staff were very kind and hospitable. It makes a great place for an outing or to eat at home. It’s very filling and very worth the money! The best part is feeling full after eating but not feeling gross because the food is very clean and wholesome.

What a delicious and delightful dinner my friend and I had here last night. (We had to order takeout due to the pandemic) Everything was amazing and authentic. We passed by it on the way to our new home the other day and knew we had to try Mughal Palace. The Gobi pakora were amazing as were the samosas. My friend got the daal saag and I got the lamb pasanda and we would definitely order them again, although there are so many other items we're eager to try too. My friend loved the raita and I could have eaten a whole bowl of the green chutney by itself. Anyway, give this place a try, it's totally worth it.

If you live in Maine and love Indian food, this place is a saviour. Ethnic foods in Maine are difficult to come by periods.

We recently moved to the area and we're so excited to discover this place. The food was all fresh and flavorful. The chai tea was delish! I only wish they had labels on all the dishes, but they did label dishes that were vegetarian or vegan.

This place is our new favorite spot. It’s our comfort food, or go to, our new Christmas Eve tradition. Don’t be intimidated at the prices, everything’s worth it, we always order one dish short for a large group and have plenty of left overs with full happy bellies. We eat out less and just go to this place, guilt free. The food is delicious and despite me mispronouncing most all orders we’ve never had a mistake.

The problem i had was my order took too lang to get served and when it did it was incorrect. But whatever i had tasted really good

Very pleasently surprised. A group from work saying temporary good bye while a coworker returns to India. He helped make choices that many of us will gladly return for. Nice buffet with many options. I had Keema Mutter a lamb based meal on rice. Medium spicy was perfect for me, however some might prefer mild to start. Seemed a little pricey, however seemed like everything was fresh and well prepared. Bread was freshly made and delicious. Had to take a menu home...
