Table was greasy, napkin holder greasy too & floor dirty & sticky. Waitresses aren't friendly at all,just hang around watching for their tip.

I had a great time there, really good prices, and really good food. And their service is fantastic. If you're in the area, check it out.

This place used to be really good... over the last year or so it got worse and today will be the last time i eat here. Food was cold at lunch time and terrible it felt like i was eating leftovers. Good luck ming garden so sad you turned so bad.

Food just didn't taste all that great.

We're coming from Georgia and wanted some chinese. I think I could have made better chinese at home with my feet. The fried rice was steamed. Actually under steamed. The sesame chicken tasted like a pineapple with sesame seeds. The general tso's chicken was edible... just edible. They weren't kidding about the butter salmon as it was just butter and fish. The stuffed shrimp and the honey chicken was pretty good. I think the best thing I had was my drink and I had a water with lemon. The actual restaurant was really nice which is why I'm so disappointed. The inside is beautiful but the food was unappetizing. Only my uncle and I ate. After seeing my disappointment, my mother decided not to eat here. The staff sat at a table not too far from us and stared at her to make sure she didn't eat. She caught multiple waitresses watching her several times. Very disappointed with the overall experience.

Love the koi pond and I’ve had a wonderful waitress and meals every time. Love the fact that it has not just Chinese foods also. I’ve yet to eat from every type of food they offer. I’ve never had a problem with the temperature of the foods either.

6/28/2024 Gave Ming Garden another chance, sweet sour chicken was good but fried rice was ok, the peas in the rice were hard other than that my food arrived hot thank goodness they have their own driver who is a very nice gentleman.

Stopped by to eat after a day of hiking on the BRP. Very clean and the food and service was great!

A lot of people said they had awesome food, I would say it was ok. I believe the waitress was having a bad day was not very friendly at all.

The food was decent since we were there at lunch rush. The waitress was nice up until it was tip giving time. A tip was going to be given until she aggressively hovered over my father to see just how much he was going to leave. She was very rude when she didn’t get what she thought was a high enough tip. They are pretty much bullying you into leaving a tip period. Will not be going back there.

Don’t waste your time the food is horrible. It taste like it’s been sitting all day taste old hard and cold . I don’t see where the good reviews came from maybe these people eat anything and call it good food. If you want great Chinese food go to Dragon Chinese . You will thank me later.

The staff are incredibly rude and lazy! You'll need to get your own drinks or sit there through dinner without a refill. And it's not self serve. Food is not fresh. It has a bitter taste to it. Like it was all cooked in the same old oil. Wish i could say something positive about this place but i cannot. Second time here. Wanted to be fair and give them another chance.

Not good anymore, food is very lackluster. Sushi is awful here. I always tip, but I had signed the receipt and accidently dropped it and when I picked it up the waitress pointed to the tip line aggressively.

All of these bad reviews are just out of state people. This is my favorite restaurant in the valley, great food, good service and perfect atmosphere. If you don't like them snapping beans on a table nearby then you need to stick to american restaurants. It's just how they prepare food and it's unharmful. If you have ussues with an employee sleeping during their break, you need help.

The buffet is not cohesive. Food isn't the best, though they are clean. I found it was very oily and off-putting. Everything had a bitter after taste.Great staff and friendly, but the buffet items definitely need improvement. They have potential, but fell flat of my expectations.

Warning that me and my partner got violently sick that night after eating there. Like to the point of almost going to the hospital because my partner was not able to stand up the next day due to throwing up/diarrhea throughout the night. We are traumatized by the experience. I also saw a cockroach in the toilet

I visit mostly to visit the beautiful koi pond. It's glorious. The food and service are always delicious. The interior is a palace. It's an entertaining space. Cavernous. Go.

Beautiful statues in the front, and a nice Koi pond inside. The servers were very welcoming and the bathrooms were clean.

By far the best Asian food buffet in the area. Always good and has been for many years.

Don't visit after 7pm they do not put fresh food out. Some items were taken away before 8pm. Very poor buffet, I don't recommend going there during the week. Friday or Saturday is good if you get there early.

This is a nice place to eat their feet is good but the homeless people are outside asking for money think that's very unappropriate

For a buffet and price the food is decent. I’ve had many better buffets. The food is blander than other Chinese I’ve had over the years. However, I would eat it again. What will keep me from going here again is the wait staff. It’s a buffet, I don’t expect much but it was too extreme. The waitress wouldn’t refill our water without me asking each time and flagging her down but would come reach over us to get our plates and would take ones right in front of us we were s till eating. I had to stop her on 3 occasions from walking away with my soups and items I was still directly eating. Then when it came time to pay I paid with card and signed the receipt but left it on the table in front of me with my arms over it so I could put the cash tip on it. The waitress literally reached IN BETWEEN MY ARMS to grab the receipt. I’ve never seen anything like it. I asked her to wait and she took it anyway. Shew. She alone ruined our dinner from the stress her service provided. Regarding the atmosphere it’s was just crowded and noisy since all patrons were seated in the same small area right on top of each other. I think this place needs some training on service. Won’t be back.

Hair in the pudding. Manager response "Not my fault, customer nasty too." This was about 2 years ago. Haven't been back since. Had to almost fight to get a discount. What happened to the days your food was automatically free? Especially when I didn't know it until it was in my mouth.

I would really rate this high except the food was only barely warm. I like my food to be hot when I begin my meal. Loved how clean and spacious it was.

My wife has a severe fish and shellfish allergy that limits where we can eat. She was able finally enjoy a meal from here without any signs of an allergic reaction. Recommend: Beef Lo Mein and Pork Fried Ribs ve

Just moved to Waynesboro and I live around the corner from this restaurant. I am all around very impressed with this establishment. The service was great and the food was very fresh and full of flavor. Also, the restaurant is very clean. I highly recommend!

Geen aanrader! Bij binnenkomst in het restaurant werden we vriendelijk ontvangen en meteen naar een tafeltje gebracht. Eenmaal aan tafel werd de bediening wat opdringerig (lees snel borden weg halen, snel de rekening presenteren). Tijdens het eten was het personeel al aan het schoonmaken, ook op plekken waar nog eten stond waren ze met een schoonmaakspray in de weer met als gevolg dat je in een chemische schoonmaakgeur moet verder eten. Het eten was redelijk. Veel gefrituurde gerechten, niet alles smaakte vers en sommige gerechten waren zelfs behoorlijk taai. Toen we de rekening kregen was het personeel ronduit onbeschoft over de fooi. Het was zo slecht en niet respectvol dat we besloten om helemaal geen tip meer te geven, dit werd niet in dank afgenomen en eindigde in een discussie. Ik zou zeker voor een leuker, vriendelijker en beter eettentje in de buurt gaan kijken en deze plek vooral overslaan.

Saturday September 9th 2023 was my first time ever coming here. Didn't expect much of this place considering it was an hour after what I would assume would be the dinner rush. I was pleasantly surprised. Every single item I tried was fresh and hot and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place

Great selection of food, place was very clean including the bathrooms. Well stocked buffet. Great selection of shrimp. Food has been fresh on every visit we've been here so far. A few of the waitresses here are not very pleasant. Especially the one that is on her phone through her earbuds 24/7, she is always more concerned about her phone calls than her customers

This place is fast.. however the food is trash... It's disgusting, to be honest.. i dont think i have ever ordered Chinese food and couldn't eat it... beef and broccoli 🥦 and the beef tasted like death lol and i really mean that.. dont go here.. go anywhere else.. just not here. .. also for 3 entrées it was 54 dollars.... haha i just don't understand 😅

The restaurant was supposedly new and we had to pull it up on Google maps. (We are from out of town! )Google maps led us to the wrong side of the street to where the new construction is on buildings and the backside of the restaurant. We had to circle all the way around 3 blocks to get back to the front. Once inside, we were sitted right away. I had to tell the waitress what I wanted to drink 2 times and not a coke 1 time, she didn't understand me. But that was ok, I was a little unsure of what I wanted anyway. I got a sweet tea. It was very sweet. My husband got Dr. Pepper. (Pepsi products available) The restaurant was very clean and organized other than 1 employee laying her head down on a table to sleep/rest to my left and to my right towards the restrooms 2 other employees were snapping beans. The buffet looked appetitizing with a variety of food/salad(and fruit), desserts and even sushi. But the hot foods were COLD. You could even see steam coming from under neath the hot plates. Some of the fried foods were over fried/too greasy! I didn't even bother with salad or dessert! My husband said the Generals tso's was very sweet and did not taste like the dish! A lot of the fried food was rubbery and over cooked. I was completely turned off from this experience! Also, in the middle of eating, one of the employees sprayed a cleaning product and you could smell it at our table. I'm not sure where he/she was when they did it but it was horrendous smelling and off putting! Buffet was over $10/person for lunch. We will not go back again. The only pleasant thing about ming Garden was the Koi fish pond indoors, which is lovely!

Chinese food buffet style. Everything was fresh and delicious! Nice variety of food on multiple counters. Restaurant is clean and inviting, with pleasant atmosphere. Staff was attentive and courteous.

They for to much tip and they pick up the food until we pay and the food gives a stomach bug and being sick.

Hot food wasn't even worm … sushi wasn't cold everything seemed old . Chairs had rips . Definitely won’t be going back …

Thought going here at open, everything would be fresh and hot. Wrong. 🙃 I always go for "appetizers" first & everything I'd gotten that was supposed to be hot (crab ragoons and dumplings) wasn't even warm. My husband got some teriyaki chicken, also not even warm. I'd asked him if his stuff was cold, thinking it was maybe just me, but he also thought the same thing. We addressed the concerns with the manager, who basically made it our fault. She said since we had full plates ?? she had to charge us. Paid $20 for cold chicken, cold hard Rangoons & cold dumplings. She wasn't helpful at all. Wasn't even an okay experience, 100% awful.

If I were to give a constructive criticism, I would suggest that they lock the doors when they're closed, especially for their safety if they have money out counting a till. They should also update their hours so their customers know when they're open. Drove out on a Saturday night at 9pm to grab something from the bar real fast. We ended up being turned away. Waist of time and gas.

Today July 25/2023 we decided to try and eat in the restaurant and sadly nothing has changed the sesame chicken was so salty you couldn't eat it my mom and I got one half soda refill but who knows what we got the second time it certainly wasn't diet coke something in the honey chicken was so hard it actually cut my bottom lip inside my mouth this was the last chance for this restaurant and WE WILL NEVER RETURN also an elderly couple were eating at the table beside us the gentleman said a 5 dollar tip Because they got no service at all had plates on their table and no refills on their water the waitress took 10 and insisted she didn't understand how to return his money to his card just despicable Several months ago we got takeout and everything was super greasy and something's weren't fully cooked but we thought they were having a off day so we decided to go and eat it but the Food has really went downhill and the price is ridiculous even though we were there for lunch we were charged for dinner now I know everything is high but the food isn't worth it its really disappointing when this place use to be pretty good but today the potatoes weren't cooked fully the general sao had some reheated leftovers in it the cheese wontons were overcooked some had no filling in them sadly we will not return here

Ming Garden presents a clean Chinese-America Buffet for reasonable prices. They have all the favorites: sushi bar, cold bar, shrimp, crawfish, frog legs, crab rangoon, and many more options.

This place is disgusting. Every surface is covered in dust. Reeks of rotting food and the workers don't speak English.

I've been coming here for years and the service and food never disappoint.

It has been about 4 years since we last visited. They had remodeled the inside and it seemed more open. The food was excellent. We all had the buffet. There was several different types of seafood, chicken, rice, beef and a sushi bar. I was impressed by how much the food had improved. Will definitely be returning.

(update from 4 years ago: Still terrified of Chinese food.) 8 People from my office went to enjoy some fairly priced Chinese food last week. 8 people from my office were violently ill (some considering hospitalization) hours later. worst 12 dollars I've ever spent. High point of the restaurant was the extremely overpopulated Koi pond.

If you would like to have your sushi prepared by someone who doesn't wash their hands, yep... this is where you need to go. Worst restaurant ever! Beautifully decorated with old food on the buffet. Our waitress stood at the sushi buffet and looked at her phone or talked about the customers. We requested an order of sushi due to a food allergy and it was prepared by the world's angriest man who didn't wash his hands before preparing. We had to pay extra just to have a California roll without sesame seeds and then when we didn't leave a tip, we were talked about by the staff. Sure wish they realized some American's also speak Chinese too. If we could give 0 stars we would.

I expected the place to be crowded on a weekend like other Asian buffets, but to my surprise it wasn't crowded. They did have a different menu than other Asian buffets and the food was good.

Today the food did not taste right and they have went way up on there prices I barely ate it was over 20.00

I was skeptical when we first saw the place, but was pleasantly surprised. In the category of buffets, this place is very well run. Clean. Good lighting. Delicious food. Reasonable price. Some of the dishes were on the too-sweet side for my taste, but my son loved every bite.

This place is absolute trash! Service was subpar…to be polite. I chose to go here, even after having issues previously with staff being confrontational about tips, because it is my deceased mothers birthday and she LOVED Chinese food. Well when we paid and opted not to tip(because the service was horrible) the waitress confronted us about it. Then sent a manager over who not only checked our tab ,for a tip, BUT OTHER DINERS AS WELL!! Ming Garden used to be a great place to eat….now it’s an overpriced hodgepodge of microwaved food and fancy lights. Do NOT waste your time.

I kept giving this place the benefit of the doubt due to my kids enjoying this place. Tonight was the last straw. The food kept getting worse and we had zero service tonight. Half the dishes tasted awful. What can you expect from a buffet though? Glad to say this is our last visit for good. 👎

Worth the stop if you are passing through on I-64. The restaurant is spacious and clean. We stopped by at 3:00 and were expecting a few dried out entrees given the time. Wow! The food was hot and fresh. The butterfly shrimp, coconut shrimp and stuffed crab shells will not disappoint. We will visit again when we come through Waynesboro, VA.

Great kept secret in downtown Waynesboro. Spacious beautiful atmosphere, and well layed out buffet stations. Fantastic Sushi bar with alot of variety. Very clean and well run restaurant.

All the reviews on here are old I went there today for my mom's birthday and the food had sat out for at least two hours. Cold oily salty mess they use to be good not anymore. If I could have given it no star I would. Never going back. I had a couple of bites couldn't do it. Please don't waist your money there.

Food is not very good. They add a tip to large parties. When this happens we only tip that amount on check, instead of at least 30 percent .

Definitely do not recommend this place since there are way better places within the area. The price..., is alright. Food is a hit or miss, depending on when you go and what you get. Atmosphere is odd with how the seats are laid out, then the food tables and such. Service wasn't great at all. Staff asked for a tip from my friends and I, which for the service they provided didn't seem worthy of one, as well as kept pushing for a tip from all of us. Other reviews also talked about them pushing for tips, so I doubt this behavior from the staff will change. As stated, not recommended at all and would recommend any other place around the area than this place.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Waynesboro. The food has always been decently warm if not hot and it's a big selection. I remember hearing bad things about it years ago, but I've never had issues.

Tired buffet. Food had been on buffet for a bit, soggy not fresh. They have sushi if you like that. Lots of choices on buffet though. Staff is friendly. I have had better Chinese buffets though.

Best Chinese buffet in Waynesboro, but to be fair it's the only one so that's not saying much. I find the furniture to be uncomfortable and the staff indifferent (I don't expect to be treated like a king, but at least notice that I'm here and fill up my water without me having to ask). I used to go here for lunch with my dad, but the last time we tried to stop they were closed, so they may have shortened their hours (or we just stopped on a weird day?).
