First off, who goes to a Mexican restaurant and doesn't get chips at the table? Apparently, it costs extra for chips and salsa at this restaurant. The chicken taco is so dry that you can't chew it. We were sitting at the bar and watched other servers and they didn't know what was going on. I do not recommend this place. We came because their outdoor area looked great. But when we arrived there was no service outside. We only came because we were staying in the hotel next door.

Have ordered delivery thru their app many times. I order tonight, card is charged, email received that they got my order. 1.5 hours waiting, I called to check on the status and was told they aren't Plaza Azteca anymore and they don't use that app. I ask about the charge on my card, was told to dispute thru cc company, fine. It would have been nice for the app to mention not to use it or at least not accept orders and charge people. Went to the website for the name they are now, Plaza Antigua. Go to the menu, and at the bottom it says to download the app to order. Click on it and it takes me to the same app I used originally and was told they don't use. Liked their food but we won't be going back there again.

We stayed at a nearby hotel and happened upon this restaurant bc it was within walking distance. Sat out back at the picnic tables to listen to the band they had playing. Tacos and nachos were amazing! So tasty! Service was friendly. Bucket of beer deal was just what was needed after a long day of driving. Definitely recommend!!

I loved the frozen mango wine slush with a spicy edible straw in the Mason jar! I can’t wait to visit this place again!

Bin in a lot of Mexican restaurants but this is not Mexican it's some kind of Buffalo wild wings but not even that good slash type Mexican. Service people don't want to be there. Once I saw the atmosphere and people working I went for safest choice that is tacos and man o man it was horrible. If Mexican type restaurant can't even make decent tacos forget about it. At the end I had to look for my bill long time while the place was empty and got my change without bill.

They have never known how to treat a customer right! I think I may be done with them for good after how I was treated by them during the reggae festival!

Great place. I went for the festival. Got a table on the patio. Was going to order drinks and apps. Asked for a menu and never saw her again. So I went inside and just got a margarita which was excellent. The bartender was friendly and very hospitable …. Sad I didn’t get to taste the food.

Overpriced food.. they ignore you at the bar and do not follow through with options offered on the menu. Bad customer service. Although I do love that they have live music in most of the time.

Wednesday was karaoke night. One of the singers was actually pretty good. The burrito was salty.

Takes 25 minutes for me to get someone to even look for my online order, during that time I sat and watched 2 other couples come and leave because they had been waiting forever. Then when i did get my order, it was only half of the order. An hour spent bringing this to my family for it to only be half of the order. What kind of restaurant doesn't have a hostess to seat and handle customers at 6pm on a weekend? Most Sundays in the past I've picked up for my family from here, it's the same story everytime. People waiting ages, then leaving because they are never sat. Service is terrible!

Always a great experience dining at the Plaza. With many restaurants offering Hispanic fare it's hard to stand out from the crowd but Antigua is one that does.

This place is always packed so we expected some great food. Noticed it actually looked slow today so here was our chance to finally give this place a try. It was AWFUL!!! We waited over 45 minutes for a kids meal and one entree. They weren't busy at all. When the food finally arrived it was not good. Chicken had a weird taste and my son couldn't eat the burger. Definitely will not revisit. Waste of time and money.

Sorry but the margaritas here suck. Dude was pouring them out of a premix jug. I had three and didn't even get a buzz. Had the enchiladas. I've had better frozen enchiladas from Walmart. Bartender was more concerned with the pretty girl at the bar than anything.

The bar was sticky and so were the menus. The ladies room needs cleaned. I got locked in the bathroom stall told the waitress and she said yeah she did too that they have a ghost here.However the food was delicious and the bartender (male) was very nice!

Second time in a week I go into eat here and the first time they were out of the beer of choice and tonight they were out of tea sweet and unsweet. Both times same waitress had no idea they were out of it until I placed my order and then she comes back and tells me. No bueno. I hope this review is worth the $2 you saved for the food service bag of tea leaves. I'm not sure if it is employees or management that don't care... But when your servers don't know they're out of something and it seems to be happening often, you have a problem.

I’ve eaten here often and have probably not left the positive reviews I should have. I will say there nachos fajitas are delightful. Tonight I ordered the Steak fajita burrito. What I received was Steak and onion burritos. I questioned one of the people working there and it was explained to me that fajitas as well as fajita nachos come with the standard green and red peppers, onions and choice of steak or chicken. However, a fajita burrito is either steak and onion or chicken and onion. My suggestion would be to list these burritos as your choice steak or chicken and onion. So lesson learned, I won’t order a fajita burrito, expecting it to be stuffed with fajita fixings. But if I am in the mood for meat and onions, it will certainly fit the Bill.

Absolute nightmare. I’ve been waiting 30 minutes past my pickup time with a screaming baby, no communication on what’s going on or how much longer. If you are this overwhelmed and having an event- just turn the online ordering off. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had to deal with. Literal hell.

Got a Gift Certificate for meal and movie they never gave us our movie tickets. So SAD!!! :-(Will NEVER eat here again!!!

The waitress was awesome! The nachos was terrific and the beer was cold. Thank goodness there was not another one of those miserable bands that plays too loud and too badly.

If you are ever in town, check this place out.. Wow it has great flavors. I had my very first Margarita. And I will say I walked back to the hotel. I'm not a drinker. If you are military, they support you.. I thank them for that. Cheers to my waitress

The staff were lovely and the restaurant looks similar inside to a Plaza Azteca. The food unfortunately was not very good. It lacked the flavor of typical Mexican restaurants.

Excellent food, service, and price. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Large portions at reasonable prices. The menu has been downsized, which is greatly appreciated. The folks in the kitchen know their craft and are wonderful at it. The street tacos are excellent as well as the chili relleno. Table side guac is huge! During warmer weather there is live music with plenty of outdoor setting. The restaurant is community focused and give back - they sponsor events to raise money for charities. We have never had a bad experience at Plaza Antigua and a big thank you for paring down the menu choices!!!

The food was good, honest food that seemed to be made by the restaurant. Freshly fried (warm) chips and salsa (complimentary). Quick service in taking kids’ meals first (with drinks) and getting kids’ meals out quickly. Great drink special on Mondays: $3.95 margaritas and $5 jumbo margaritas. Food is a bit salty but still tasty (ask to reduce salt). Wait staff friendly and accommodating—subbed grilled veggies for rice as suggested. The kids really like their quesadillas, and the french fries were made in house and cut from real potatoes. The fried chimichangas were delicious and devoured. The chicken burrito had soft, smoky chicken. The carbs asada was tasty (a thin cut) but flavorful. The other diners said the portions were generous. We would go back.

This is by far the best Mexican restaurant I have eaten at in a long time! The portions were very generous and everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection!! The staff were all so kind and friendly. When you walk into Plaza Antigua they make you feel at home! Our waitress was truly the best! I recommend the Burritos Mexicano and the customizable bowls! You have to try this place!

Worst Mexican food I’ve ever had! Service was equally as bad! And don’t think you’ll be served chips and salsa because you won’t!! Waitress never came back after order was placed!

Today I ordered rice with chicken and beans to take away, an unpleasant surprise when I got home and shared it with my wife; The chicken was salty, inedible, we had to fry a couple of eggs, the food should be to the customer's taste, not the cook's.

I really love this place. This is my second time I go there that guacamole it's amazing. I can just have a guacamole for a dinner if they serve me that I get a fajita steak. It wasn't bad but the street taco It's amazing!

The food is great. If you get what you ordered and paid for. I have had years of great service until the past several months. I would not usually do this but this has happened several times in a row now and any comment is ignored. This last time is a slap in the face. What is on the ticket is not even close to what I got. A full meal that I was charged for and paid for was an appetizer. Also not close to the orders in appetizer form. Not even close to my order. I am not blaming anyone new there. It has been mostly from a person that has been working for a while. Being ignored and not puting an order in at all. Forgetting to do so and the repeated incorrect orders. I have checked several times but when there is a lot of food that can be difficult. That is my fault. I am just done and will not be back.

I am editing my previous review due to the FANTASTIC food and service we received the weekend of Thanksgiving. We do not eat a traditional Thanksgiving meal, but instead order the tacos for 10 buffet-style catering package. When my husband called to order, he chatted with them about our two previous negative experiences for take-out. The staff assured him that they would be able to meet our needs for the meal. They went ABOVE AND BEYOND to have the food ready on time, and even helped carry the food to our car. It was delicious, reasonably priced and generous. (SO much more enjoyable than cooking all day for a Thanksgiving meal!) Thanks guys!

What can say if tou get a window u get no service I would suggest bringing a couple drinks and beef Jerky with you but I seen all the people they put in the middle of the restaurant getting served shame place not being used with windows. Also looks like a older Democrat meeting place just sad old and waiting 2 die. Sorry I'm trying 2 help guys. I'm sure my margarita had no alcohol. So just double up everything at the window and don't let them get away with just drink order

Chori pollo was underwhelming. Breast was rubbery. Meal was ok.

Everything is always amazing here, i always get the san jose Burrito and add shrimp ! The owner, chris, is always checking on tables and really making sure everyone enjoys themselves!! I will always be going here for lunch and dinner!! My wife also loved the Philly steak burrito! I forgot to take pictures, but next time i go, i will post them

food is just ok, expensive for a Mexican place. What really bothered me was the snobby staff; seems they don't have paper menus, expecting all their clients to have knowledge of on-line service. Some of us don't order our food like that. I will stay away from just ok food and snobby staff.

Wow, so delicious! I had the street tacos. Spicy pineapple salsa is amazing! Margarita so good too I have to laugh - the atmosphere lost a star cause there is literally 1 song on repeat…I didn’t believe my ears at first but by round 5 I could tell! 😄

Possibly the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever had the misfortune to patronize. I ordered one of the lunch specials and it took 25 minutes for it to arrive at my table. It was lunchtime but the place was not crowded. The chili relleno was greasy and the taco was terrible. How do you mess up a taco? This used to be Plaza Azteca, which I enjoyed a number of times. The place was worn and tired looking, as if all they did was move in without any freshening up whatsoever.

I ordered the Enchilada Supreme. The beef tastes like potted meat, the chicken is from a can (literally, I recognize the taste and texture), the beans are gross, and the cheese enchilada consisted of a tortilla with unmelted shredded cheese.... This is lower quality than even Taco Bell for a way higher price. This is the worst "Mexican" food I've ever had in my life. The picture included is of my "cheese" enchilada.

Ugh I hate leaving bad reviews but I feel like it needs to be done. I got “Texas fajitas” the steak was burnt, the chicken was dry but the shrimp was good. The rice was decent but I had to ask for the tortilla wraps. My husband got a tbone & said it was horrible. Our friend got shrimp tacos & for the amount of money it was, it was 3 tiny tortillas with half pieces of popcorn shrimp & pico.. it looked pathetic. We normally go to the Mexican across the street but wanted to give this one a try… won’t be back. Paid almost $140 with drinks included & we couldn’t even finish our food brought it home to the dogs.

I think we are done with this restaurant. Came in for lunch yesterday and the sign said domestic beer specials today. Unwelcoming, barely English speaking waiter asked for our drink order. I asked what beers were on special. He said none. Chips were hard and seemed right out of a bag. My fajitas were burnt on bottom, and so were the fajita offerings inside my partner's burrito. My fajitas were also the smallest portion I have ever been served. Although decorated nice for Halloween, the decor did not make up for a burnt, sparse lunch and no friendliness from staff. What has happened to this place?? Waynesboro has lots of other lunch options.

Great stage and outdoor bar for events. The queso fundido is great, but they charge separately for chips. If you’re serving a dip as an appetizer, the least it can do is come with chips. I’ve never been to a Mexican restaurant that didn’t offer them for free or with their queso dips. The staff were friendly.

Short and to the point. Service awesome. Restaurant inside horrible smell. Food was subpar....BUT my husband,myself, and child were sick all day after eating there... horrible experience.********************* **************UPDATE: since the owners response was "look into my claims." The server would remember us, we were sitting outside and it got to cold so we had to come In I got a margarita on the rocks no salt , 2 pork street Tacos with the cilantro and onions with a side of the Avocado salsa my husband had a blended peach margarita with a sugar rim, and a chimicunga with rice and beans and my daughter had sprite with her kids tenders and fries. We shared each plate to taste everything since it was our first time there. So we don't know which item was the culprit. Regardless of this we tipped 20% and didn't complain as I said before service was awesome. But when I said the store smelled, I ment it. It had sour towel smell. And when I said we all were sick, I ment that too! The whole nine yards. As someone who's worked in the food Industry for 30 years, I'm disappointed in the owners reply and I wish them well.

Every Thursday we come to listen to outdoor music. This week they decided to move the music indoors which was fine. The bartender came over to let us know that we had to move because I was sitting in the isle for safety reasons. I was perfectly fine with this. Then he came over to serve us and there was a lady standing there we didn't know and she made some comment to him about being on the phone and making us wait. First of all me and my friends didn't care that we had to wait. Obviously this lady was upset she had to wait so the bartender proceeded to tell her and us that he refuses to serve us because of this lady. He explained to us his dad was having surgery tomorrow and that was why he was on the phone. So we do hope your dad does good. However when we told you we didn't know that lady you never once volunteered to serve us. I have never been so embarrassed to be treated like this. People in the bar area looked at us and started making comments. I will never be treated like this again. Don't worry Sidelines in Fishersville was very happy to serve us and they had music also. So I guess goodbye to you all and hello to sidelines for our Thursday music.

Gothic Mexican restaurant in an old firehouse. The food was surprisingly authentic with an American twist. The decor was gothic, with cast iron finials on the high leather booth backs, stone, wood, and stained glass. The service was slow, they clearly expect you to take your time over your meal (also authentic Mexican) and everyone was super kind and helpful. What a weird, wonderful place! 'Wish I lived closer!

My father and I came here after a day traveling the skyline drive. The Restaurant is in walking distance to the Holiday Inn. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the lady serving us was a total sweetheart, god bless her. After finding out it was my father’s birthday they surprised him with some ice cream and sang him Happy Birthday. The food was delicious and the prices where good, so was the Margaritas. I wish we would have these great Mexican restaurants in Germany. Maybe one day we will be back in this area for a second visit.

Nice setup at this place. Plenty of outside seating. An outside stage with plenty of seating to watch local bands or events. The food was good/alright. I feel there should have been more for a 14.50 burrito, but it was not bad. Looked nice. Taste was your typical affair. The rice with the dish was excellent, as were the chips and salsa. Service was very good even with a bit of a language barrier. All in all, I probably would not pick this place to go eat Mexican food, BUT I would not be disappointed if someone else in the group picked this place to have lunch. It's not bad. Give them a try.

This place has BIG problems. Over-charged ALL 3 of us. Owner VERY dismissive and defensive. Had a place on the wall to post prices of drinks/beers, but the prices were not written in ($_______). The drinks seemed to have no alcohol.... or VERY weak at best. This "bar" does not even have club soda or tonic water. The bartender seemed irritated that I asked for a drink...very rude...then when I asked for 2 drinks instead of one, he literally poured half of the first drink into another glass and proceeded to put just a splash of alcohol in each, at which point I told him to just keep them, and he was again, very, very rude. On top of all of this, the bathrooms were TOTALLY disgusting.

The place is nice, but not for vegetarians. I ordered vegetarian fajitas, twice they had to remake it for me, and both times I could still find little pieces of chicken. They fry their vegetables in the same pan as the chicken.

Went here this past Saturday around 7pm. I think about 4 employees walked past us in the front and didn’t even acknowledge us. This place wasn’t that busy so I am not sure why we were not seated and had to stand there for 10 minutes. Ordered margaritas, to be honest with you it seemed like there was absolutely no alcohol in it. We were going to say something but I was already unhappy with the initial walk in. Food was fine but it just was not a good customer experience.

This is not your "ordinary" Mexican restaurant. The food is amazing! We were traveling for business and stopped by for dinner. It was so good that we came back the next night for dinner and we weren't disappointed. The outdoor seating with live music adds to the fun. On our second trip, we sat at the bar and Tanya was the bartender. They were incredibly busy with an event but she kept it all rolling and made sure the customers all received top notch service. We definitely recommend this place and we will be back!

Just visiting the area and was told the food was good. The guacamole was really good, as well as the two dips. The chips were way too thick.The fajitas chicken and shrimp were good but beef was hard and tough. Orded the pick 3 got pick 2. You were out of chilie rellenos and it was replaced with wet hard tacos since we already paid for them. Should have been refunded to us. The flaka salad was not there in the sense, there were only pieces of lettuce and that was cooked with the chicken with some kind of questionable sauce. Ordered flan did not get it. Got two margaritas to go. Those were good. Like the mason jars for the memory.. Happy Mothers Day to me.

I went at 3PM on a Tuesday I was the only one at the restaurant, service was kinda of “Dry” attitude with kinda of unwelcoming vibe, I ordered Steak Fajitas that was the saddest sizzling Fajitas I ever had, the steak was chewy and the cut was thick, veggie were barely visible I asked for a spicy salsa and I did not get it till my order was served I asked for Skinny Margaritas but the glasses smelled kinda of detergent/ bleach. I left my food and my drink as is , paid my bill and walked away. This was not a very pleasant experience at all

I've been in Texas for 10 years. I was quiet disappointed with the quality of food. Do NOT get the margaritas as they are more like a tart lemonade. Taco salads could also use more toppings.

New ownership I assume. Prices way up and sizes way down. Definitely not worth the price. Very friendly staff and decent food but extremely overpriced now for amount.

Usually have prompt service....not tonight. Slow service, food was not good this time. Disappointed.

This place is all about the food and drinks. They update their menu while holding on to the classics. If you're in Waynesboro and want Mexican, this is the place.
