This place seems very hole in the wall and unassuming from the outside but is such a wonderful place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch! The staff is super friendly and cheerful and the menu is full of amazing options. I chose to go with the Stiffed French toast brioche, it's one of the best things I've tasted. It was fluffy, full of flavor, and very filling! The waiter also told us about the juices of the day, which are fresh squeezed in their kitchen. I order their freshly squeezed lemonade, and it was very refreshing. Will definitely be planning on coming back in to try more of the menu!

Awesome place! Expensive and always packed but totally worth it. I love the fact that they offer very different items and not the typical dishes. You have a great opportunity to try new things.

I don't know what Gainesville did to deserve Pleasant Street Pizza, but I'm so glad they're here. The pizza is epic - sourdough crust, homemade mozzarella, Berkshire pork sausage. It's so dang tasty I bought a pizza bag just to squire these discs of perfection back home. As I write this, Pleasant Street Pizza has been closed for a few weeks to remodel their dining room. It's been the longest month of my life.

Ordered the meatball sub and a Diavola pizza. Both are phenomenal and I can’t wait to come back again. Definitely worth getting an extra side of sauce and it’s a good amount as well. Loved their place when it was a breakfast/lunch restaurant and I already love what they are doing now. Go get yourself some ‘ZA!!

I was fortunate to grow up in a home where the art of cooking was a passion, a pursuit of love, and *nothing* made you feel better than a home cooked meal. Mike and Patricia are creating the same warmth, passion, and love my mom shared and elevating it – a paragon of culinary cuisine. The broccoli rabe, meatballs (that sauce tho!), and the mushroom pizza were outstanding. This was not simply dinner – it was a celebration of joy and happiness. We look forward to trying each pizza and all your future offerings. Godspeed!

Delicious brunch place, good for vegans and vegetarians too! Seating is pretty spaced out and service was fast. Has oat milk. Vegan options are the corn and potatoes (as is), crispy potatoes (modified), and shakshuka (with veggies instead of eggs), and avo toast. Food is on the pricey side but also of higher quality, Got the corn and potatoes and it was amazing!

Love it. My wife and I got the farm omelete which was excellent. My son's cinnamon roll pancakes we're ridiculous. Wait staff are always great!

I have been here 3 times already and the service has been great everytime. And the food has been mouthwatering also. The biscuits and gravy is so yummy.

The best breakfast I ever had. Fresh squeezed orange juice was sublime. Duck and goat cheese omelette was delicious. Almost perfect. Sourdough toast with homemade strawberry jam was fabulous. I like my grits with butter and syrup. These grits were the single greatest thing I have ever tasted. I stand by it. The best. Our server was great and made the whole experience even better. Wow!!!

Patty and her husband Michael are a power team. The food is always on point and I'll take waiting for their quality over the garden of breakfast places any day.

Expect a long wait on weekends but the food is worth it. My friend and I walked to a local coffee place to burn time and it was perfect. The food is delicious, if they have the eggs benedict as a special you MUST get them. Best hollandaise sauce I've ever tasted. The stuffed french toast was also scrumptious. It's a great quirky place!

AMAZING brunch/breakfast. My friend brought me here for the first time. The building is unassuming, but I had heard good things from my boyfriend and my friend. I got the caveman pancakes even I'm not Paleo or really big into pancakes for breakfast, but LOVED them. I tried my friend's grits, and they were also excellent, and my friend and I both have southern roots and judge grits harshly. Loved that they had multiple vegan and vegetarian options. The veggie sausage was one of the better ones I've tried. They were out of tempeh when I was there, but I'm looking forward to trying the tempeh lettuce tomato (TLT) next time. I tried the fresh squeezed tangerine juice as well, and highly recommend trying it. Service was WONDERFUL! There was a bit of a wait, but the servers do an excellent job of not appearing stressed and making you feel welcome and checking in on you the right amount (not too much or too little) with some friendly banter. I can't recommend Daybreak enough. This is the type of place you want to find when you visit a town and go exploring. It's got enough home-cooked feeling, healthy multi-diet accommodating options, that almost everyone will find a new favorite dish here. I highly appreciate their efforts to buy locally and use more sustainable cardboard to-go containers.

What a great little hidden gem! This restaurant is hidden in a largely residential area of old Gainesville and I'm surprised I've only now discovered it even though I've been here for years. The service was absolutely phenomenal- our waiter was charming and attentive and the overall staff refilled my coffee probably 10 times, no exaggeration. I ordered the stuffed brioche French toast and it was absolutely divine. They make their brioche in- house! It featured cinnamon-y cream cheese, fresh strawberries and blueberries, powdered sugar, and actual real maple syrup. Sooooo good! I highly recommend Daybreak and implore you to check it out! I'd recommend getting here early though. We got a table at 9AM and by 9:30 AM people were waiting outside on this beautiful Saturday morning.

We had the Arctic Char Omelette, Breakfast Crisco, Pancakes, and Biscuits and Gravy. All of these were delicious and fresh. The server was friendly and while we had a wait, it was worth it. As others have said, parking is available on the street but there may be a short walk.

Grabbed a couple bfast sides to go, will definitely be back.

The best place to get Huevos Rancheros in Gainesville! They also have more delicious food on their menu.
